  • Facebook Graph API shows different results in me/home

    Hi, When I do a GET with my browser (already logged-in at Facebook): https://graph.facebook.com/me/home?access_token={token} the results are different than doing the same via a FB app using Facebook C# SDK. Specifically, what the API is not returning are feeds posted by other applications. Why can be this happening? Can't an application retrieve updates from other applications even if it has the read_stream permission? I even requested for additional permissions: read_stream,user_activities,friends_activities,friends_likes,user_likes,read_requests but nothing has changed. What I need is to get ALL and the same stories an user would see at his FB news feed.

  • $HOME git repo (selectively) to github?

    I keep many files in my home directory under git. Important dotfiles, my thesis, etc. I want to push certain files to github, e.g., my emacs configuration, to share. Obviously, I don't want to push the entire repo. Are submodules the way to go? My first thought is to make a directory ~/github/emacs, and rsync selective files here, then add a submodule under that directory, pointing to github, to push. Is this a good idea, or is there a better way? (I don't want my local git repo storing all files to get muddled up with this stuff, though.)

  • Android game goes blank after pressing home and restarting

    I am making an Android game with an Activity called Game, a SurfaceView called GameView and a Thread called GameThread. The Game's onCreate(), I make a new GameView, which makes a new GameThread, where all the game logic and canvas drawing is carried out. However, I'm having some lifecycle difficulties. When I press back and restart it, it works fine, but when I press home and restart it, all I see is a blank screen.   • Rsync module path needs to be a home directory

    I'm trying to use rsync to backup windows servers to an rsync server. I'm having problems with rsync on the linux side though, it doesn't like symlinks. Currently I'm trying to use the module path of ~/backup, but rsync says that the chroot failed. I looked up what to do and saw that I needed to add the option use chroot = no and munge symlinks = no. That fixed the @ERROR: chroot failed but now it's telling me @ERROR: chdir failed and the log files say that there is no ~/backup directory. I know the user I'm authenticating with has a backup folder in his directory. How can I fix this? For reference I'm using a .NET port of rsync called NetSync and tunneling it over a port forwarded SSH connection generated with granados.

  • Looking for definitive answer to accessing a network drive/NAS/SMB drive via Windows 7 HOME and Windows 7 Professional. Is it possible and how?

    I want to be able to access my Lacie 2Big network drive in Windows 7 Explorer. I have a machine with Windows 7 Home and one with Windows 7 Professional. Neither Windows 7, home or pro, can access the drive. The Windows 7 Home machine displays the drive in its Explorer, with the capacity, but on clicking the icon, I get another window, blank with the busy pointer which does not eventually stop. The drive is working perfectly. How do I know this? Because I can access it with no problems on my Apple Mac, Windows XP home and Ubuntu machines on the same network as the Windows 7 machines. Except for the Windows XP home machine that required Lacie ethernet agent program, the Mac and the Ubuntu machines needed no setup, the drive appeared like any other drive. So my 2 questions: Is it possible to access a network share drive, e.g. a NAS like Lacie 2big in Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional. If so how? I read on Microsoft's own forums and elsewhere that network sharing drives, e.g. via SambaSMB is NOT possible on Windows 7 Home.     I have a problem with my Windows installation running very slow and my Windows folder being too large. I thought that the problems are related. My Windows folder is 17.4 GB I have 1807 folders totalling 2.4 GB that are prefaced with a $. My System32 folder is 1.55 GB My Microsoft.NET folder is 654 MB – I don't know what if any programs I have that are using it. My Service Pack folder is 568 MB. The Software Distribution folder is 536 MB The ie8updates folder is 380 MB. How can I reduce the size of these folders and could their size be why I am running do slow?

  • Email sent from Centos end up in user spam folder

    I am facing this issue, I use the default postfix MTA in centos but the mail end up in user spam folder, but this does not seem to be a problem in Debian using exim4, both host have hostname and domain name configured, and relay mail through external smtp host. Both configuration and recieving email header are attached. The different seems that Debian has this additional (envelope tag) and (from) tag other than some minor syntax differences. Any help to resolve is appreciated. The IP address and DNS is masked as follow: 1.2.3.4 = My IP address smtp.host.com = external smtp host for my company [email protected] = account at smtp host centos.abc.com = Local centos server debian.abc.com = Local debian server Thanks.     Hi there, I have an ASP.Net MVC app, and i have some xsl files inside of the Content directory. I've try a few methods to get directory dynamically buy keep on coming short. So how do i get the directory to point to the Content/xsl folder? the closest that i came to was with this: this.GetType().Assembly.CodeBase which only returns the project DLL, but i can't figure out how to move up a few levels from there or what .net library to use to navigate around the path. there's no ../.. :( Basically i want to navigate to the Content/xsl folder which is at the same level of the Bin directory. Any idea? thanks.

  • Cannot SSH after resetting firewall on VPS

    I'm having trouble trying to SSH to my Debian 5 VPS with blacknight. It was working fine until I did the following: Logged into 'Parallels Infrastructure Manager' - Container - Firewall - Set to 'Normal Firewall settings'. It told me there was an error with the IPTables and offered the option again with a checkbox to 'reset' firewall settings, I selected this. I can see that that the default rules are been applied ( anything from anyone on any port and allowing anything to happen).   • Android - Images from Assets folder in a GridView

    Hi, I have been working on creating a Grid View of images, with images being present in the Assets folder. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1933015/opening-an-image-file-inside-the-assets-folder link helped me with using the bitmap to read it. The code am currently having is: public View getView(final int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { try { AssetManager am = mContext.getAssets(); String list[] = am.list(""); int count_files = imagelist.length; for(int i= 0;i<=count_files; i++) { BufferedInputStream buf = new BufferedInputStream(am.open(list[i])); Bitmap bitmap = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(buf); imageView.setImageBitmap(bitmap); buf.close(); } } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } My application does read the image from the Assets folder, but it is not iterating through the cells in the grid view. All the cells of the grid view have a same image picked from the set of images. Can anyone tell me how to iterate through the cells and still have different images ?   • Home automation using Arduino / XMPP client for Arduino

    I am trying to setup a system for automating certain tasks in my home. I am thinking of a solution wherein a server side application would be able to send/receive commands/data to Arduino (attached with Arduino Ethernet Shield) via the web. Here the Arduino may both act as a sensor interface to the server application or command executor interface for the server app. E.g. (user story): The overhead water tank in my house has a water level sensor attached with Arduino (attached with Arduino Ethernet Shield). Another Arduino (attached with Arduino Ethernet Shield) is attached with a relay/latch. This relay/latch is then connected to a water pump. Now the server side application on the web is able to get/receive water level information from the Arduino on the water tank. Depending on the water level information received, the web application should send suitable signals/commands to Arduino on water pump to switch 'ON' or switch 'OFF' the water pump. Now for such a system to work across the web, I am thinking of using one of the type of solutions in order of my priority: Using XMPP for communication between server application and Arduino. Using HTTP polling. Using HTTP hanging GET. For solution number 1, I need to implement a XMPP client that would reside on Arduino. Is it possible to write a XMPP client small enough to reside on an Arduino? If yes what are the minimum possible XMPP client functionality that I need to write for Arduino, so that it would be able to contact XMPP servers solutions like GTalk, etc.? For solution number 2 and 3 I need guidance in implementation. Also which solution would be cost effective and easily extendable?

  • Confused about home screen widget size in normal screen and larget screen

    I am designing a home screen widget. The widget layout file is like below. <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/widget" android:layout_width="240dip" android:layout_height="200dip" android:background="@drawable/base_all" /> I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels. Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device. I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing? Thanks.

  • Setting up a wireless connection

    I've got a DLINK router connected to my ADSL modem that forms the hub of my home network. I've two clients - A desktop with an onboard wireless adaptor and a laptop that's outfitted with the same. The former runs Windows 7 x64, the latter Windows XP x86. I'd like to setup a wireless connection between the two that would allow me play games over to and to a lesser extent, transfer and stream data. How would I go about doing it ?
