• How can I bring my IBM T60 out of sleep mode?

  XP Pro - SP3. My IBM Thinkpad t60 goes into sleep, or hibernation? and I cannot wake it up, no matter what keys I press. This includes pressing Fn plus F4 ( with the half moon). The only method I've found is to do a hard reset, and this causes other problems. Is there another way? Thanks for any direction.

• Computer keeps locking me out

  When I'm away from my computer (Windows XP) for more than ~30 minutes, I get locked out, and have to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to login. I've checked the screensaver settings, and it's not set to lock the screen. Does anyone know what else could be causing this? Thanks

• Problems with Program startup in WIn 7 this week

  I have a program (ISYS) that I have been using since 2006. It migrated successfully to Windows 7. Just yesterday it started manifesting this strange behavior. The program has a selector to allow you to select a directory that might have relevant files for the program. As of yesterday the program will only let me select folders on the C drive. For example I have a folder on D that I need to access with this program - from the GUI when I select the D drive the directory list does not load, instead it churns away using 17% of the CPU cycles. I have let it run for an hour several times. I have found that I can get the directory I want by using a batch file to start the program but this limits my ability to do certain things I really need to use the GUI. I did a number of reboots and other tests - I disconnected drives but once I try to select some directory on a drive other than C it churns away. I have experimented quite a bit and am convinced (which means I am wrong) that this has something to do with some setting change on my computer that I can't figure out as I don't see any updates. Since ISYS has not been updated I feel confident it is something internal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  XP SP3 I have my system set up so that I do not need to double click on an item to open it. However, I find that items are selected when I move over them swiftly. This is a problem when I want to save a file and inadvertently pass over another file name. It immediately gets selected.   I am using 7-Zip on Windows XP and whenever I download a .tar.gz file it takes me two steps to completely extract the file(s). I right-click on the example.tar.gz file and choose 7-Zip -- Extract Here from the context menu. I then take the resulting example.tar file and the right-click again and choose 7-Zip -- Extract Here from the context menu. Is there a way through the context menu to do this in one step?

  Being left-handed, I use the mouse in my left hand. In most applications I use Ctrl + Insert or Shift + Insert to copy and paste (with my right hand). For some bone-headed reason, this is not supported in Photoshop, so I have to use right-click Copy sub-menus, which is a lot slower. Is there a way to configure Photoshop to use Ctrl + Insert to copy and Shift + Insert to paste? EDIT: I tried editing keyboard shortcuts, but it will not accept CTRL + INSERT as a valid entry. Is there no valid option for left-handed users?
