  I'm trying to set up a simple new mail server; when I send a test email to the server the email is getting hung up during delivery (user mapping is found) and the email is never found in /home/user/Maildir/new Here is my maillog after a fresh reboot and test email, there are a few warnings I am unfamiliar with.   I have an Ubuntu 12.04 64bit server setup under Hyper-V. I have installed Pervasive 64bit SQL drivers so that a stock-updater script can run daily (Updates external MySQL database from another local server running Exchequer software / PSQL database). • Application to automate Windows software installation in a test lab

  I have several test environments (hyper-V) which contain a variety of windows servers. Each machine needs periodically rolling back to a given snapshot and then re-installing with the latest version of our software to test. The software installs are quite complex MSI's with a fair few option screens. I know that the installs can be driven from the command line, passing in parameters to override the wizard options. At the simplest level I suppose I could just write a batch file to kick off each install with the required parameters, however the values that are passed in do need to change from time to time (and environment to environment) so a tool with a config file and simple GUI seems like a better idea. I think what makes it slightly more painful is the multiple environments. For example one environment might contain 4 servers and need a config file with all the server names, service endpoints etc. Another environment might be a 1-box install with all names and endpoints set to localhost. So, ideally I want to be able to store different setup configurations and use them to run all the required installers with the relevant settings against the relevant machines. Before I go off to write the thing, does anyone know of an existing, simple, free tool that will let me achieve this?

• Freezing with black screen after booting OS with AMD Catalyst driver

  I have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 on my HP laptop. A few weeks ago I was confused with a weird trouble in proprietary drivers for my graphics card. When I start X server (or just boot Windows) system sometimes totally hangs up with black screen. The most annoying thing is that issue appearing is absolutely random (2 success, 3 fails, 1 success, 7 fails, etc.). It appears both on Linux (Arch, Debian 7) and Windows XP. I've tried reinstalling OS, drivers, etc. I've also tried updating BIOS. Then boot was successful for the next few times and issue appeared again (probably it was just a coincidence, because another BIOS updates gave no results). I really don't know what to do. Any ideas?

  I have a mouse that I absolutely love (been using them for years), A4Tech WOP-35. It has dual scrollers and 5 buttons, 3 of the buttons are programmable. I use them at work and at home. At work I am using Windows 7 Enterprise (32 bit), at home I am using Windows 7 Professional (64 bit). The drivers installed easily on my machine at work. Unfortunately, they will not install on my computer at home. When I double click on the Setup.exe, it asks me if I want to install it, and of course I click on "Yes", but nothing happens. When I say nothing happens, I mean nothing happens; it appears that it doesn't even try to install. The same thing happens when I right click on the setup.exe and select run as administrator. How can I get around this? I am guessing it is because I am running the 64 bit version of Windows.

  For testing antivirus we have EICAR, for SPAM, we have GTUBE. Is there a standard site that is or should be included in blacklists that you can use for testing instead of going to your favorite porn site in front of your boss, the CEO, or someone else who feels that seeing such a site is an excuse for a sexual harassment suit? Update This is less about getting permission for me to test, though that answer is useful. I do have both permission and responsibility to actually make sure the filter is running. I am able test the filter is functioning with a netcat. Instead, I am hoping there is a standard domain name that is blocked by most/all filters for testing. I need to be able to share this with my boss and users. I need to be able to demonstrate what happens when someone go to a filtered page. I need to have a way to quickly prove to others that the filter is working without asking them to go to some site that will not cause grief if for some reason the filter is not working. If there isn't already a good domain for this purpose I may simply have to register a domain myself, and then add the domain to all the filters I am responsible for.

• USB driver problems (Windows 8.1)

  Every time I turn on my laptop the USB ports don't work and the drivers have an error. In order to fix this I'm forced to start the Device Manager, uninstall all the USB drivers, open the Control Panel, click Find and fix problems (under System and Security), click Configure a device (under Hardware and Sound) and then when that window pops up just hit Next until I can see my USB drivers reinstalled and working in the Device Manager window under Universal Serial Bus controllers. I found this way to fix it but I would like a permanent solution so that I don't have to do this every time I turn on the machine. Any ideas? When I bought the machine it had Window 7 installed but I later upgraded it to Windows 8.0 and then 8.1 after that.

• Windows Home Server backup recovery missing driver for USB Device

  I'm doing a backup recovery of a Windows 7 PC from the backup on Windows Home Server. I've done this before and am accustomed to the prompt to load drivers for devices such as the NIC from a USB flash drive, which I have all loaded up with the drivers from the special folder in the WHS backup repository for this PC. My problem on this PC is that one of the drivers the recovery CD complains is missing is "USB Device", and it fails to find the drivers when I click the button to scan for and install drivers. So it seems it can't access the USB flash drive to load the other drivers. Any suggestions? I think my next step is to pull a DVD drive from another system and plug it in with a CD burned with the device drivers.

Using Ricoh UPD 3.10 and every time a user log on into a Citrix Session and get the printers connected (via logon script) Windows shows the "Finishing installation..." dialog for every printer. The Drivers are installed on all Citrix Server and every time a user connects a printer the dialog appears. Are there any settings how to disable this behaviour?

It prompted him to install software in the notification tray, but he clicked on the wrong thing and the icon went away without him installing that software. How can I get that icon back? He can't install the software then. I know that you can download the software from the site, but we did that and were having issues from that too.   Hello, A co-worker of mine is using an air-card; it prompted him to install software in the notification tray; he clicked on the wrong thing and the icon went away without him installing that software. How can I get that icon back? He can't install the software then... I know that you can download the software from the site, but we did that and were having issues from that too, was hoping to be able to install the sofware on the air card...   Hello, Can anyone tell me what the compatibility of drivers on 64bit vista are like on the Dell Inspiron 1525. Mine is just a year old now and I want to upgrade to 64bit vista. I wondered if there's known issues with drivers that I should be aware of before upgrading? Tony PS: is the upgrade worth it? My machine has 3GB of RAM and runs a T5800 2.0GHz DuoCore Processor. I use Visual Studio often and have loads of things open at the same time a lot. That's why I'm considering an upgrade.
