  • base 64 URL decode with Ruby/Rails?

    I am working with the Facebook API and Ruby on Rails and I'm trying to parse the JSON that comes back. The problem I'm running into is that Facebook base64URL encodes their data. There is no built-in base64URL decode for Ruby. For the difference between a base64 encoded and base64URL encoded, see wikipedia. How do I decode this using Ruby/Rails? Edit: Because some people have difficulty reading - base64 URL is DIFFERENT than base64

  • css issue for alignment of divs

    Hi, I am working on this site philippdecor.com and I am having a difficulty in figuring out this css issue. When I on mouse over on "Main categories" that appears on the right side, it shows a drop down with links in it. Two things happens, 1) in IE(7) - the drop down hides behind another div 2) in both ie and ff, it pushes other div below that to go down and on mouse out, it looks fine. I am not sure which css property can fix this. please help me out code

  • What defines writing PHP?

    When writing PHP code for any given project, do you find you can write code off the top of your head? Or do you make multiple round trips to php.net? If it is the later, can you still be considered a good coder. This is a legitimate question as I find I have difficulty always remembering all of the functions that are available to me so I find I use php.net as a crutch. Is there anyway to improve this?

    Hi everyone, I'm implementing a Logger, based on a XML declaration (path to class, method name, custom log message). There is also a Logger interface that defines the function __call, the latter logs what's needed and then relays the call to the target method. The only difficulty is to make each class, declared in the XML file, implement this interface with __call. So finally my question: is there a way to set at runtime the parent class or the implemented interface of another class ? Thanks in advance ! Rolf

    I have a legacy application that I'm trying to interact with from a browser. The only supported method from the application vendor is by using a DDEPoke request. I'm having difficulty figuring out a simple way to perform such a request from a browser. I am open to any particular technology, be it javascript, a browser plugin, ActiveX/Java Applet, etc - the simpler the solution the better. Does anyone have a simple solution for this?

    Basically I did the Cavendish experiment, and I have a damped sinusoidal wave plotted on Excel. With Position (mm) against Time (s). My problem is that I have added a tread line through the wave function, and wish to calculate the points of which the wave function intersects the tread line.     I need to write a script that retrieves all files that were committed for a given SHA1. I have difficulty getting a nice formatted list of all files that were part of the commit. I have tried: git show a303aa90779efdd2f6b9d90693e2cbbbe4613c1d Although listing the files it also includes additional diff information that I don't need. I am hoping there is a simple git command that will provide such a list without me having to parse it from the above command.
