  • WS-AT Issue between WPS 6.2 and WAS 7.0

    - by AK
Hi, I have a BPEL running on WPS 6.2 trying to call a web service on developed on RAD 7.5, deployed on RAD test environment. I have setup WS Transaction policy on both client and server. I get an error on WAS 7.0 saying Must Understand check failed for headers: {http:// schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/10/wscoor}CoordinationContext I tried to generate the same webservice on ibm wid 6.2 and deployed on EAR on WAS 7, it works perfect. Any thoughts ? Is there a SOAP runtime mismatch ? Help appreciated . -AK

  • SSLException: Received fatal alert: certificate_unknown - what does it mean?

    - by user338154
Hi, I am getting the "javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Received fatal alert: certificate_unknown" error when attempting to send a HTTPS message. I believe the message is due to the endpoint not recognising the sent certificate or is rejecting it. But I want to be doubly sure this is a server issue and not a local client issue before I go barking up the wrong tree with my error analysis. Can you guys please clarify the meaning of this error (google isn't helping much) and whether it is client or endpoint server related. FYI: I am using Websphere Application Server 6.1 Thanks

  • How to connect to local MQseries queue using Python?

    - by Michal Niklas
I am new to mqseries and I started with IBM WebSphere MQ curses. There are examples with MQ_APPLE and MQ_ORANGE queue managers. I have no problem with sending messages to local or remote queue with MQ Explorer, but I wanted to send such message from code: Python or Java. I tried Python pymqi library with code like this: import pymqi qmgr = pymqi.QueueManager(None) qmgr.connect('QM_APPLE') putq = pymqi.Queue(qmgr, 'Q1') putq.put('Hello from Python!') but I receive error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "mq_put.py", line 4, in <module> qmgr.connect('QM_APPLE') File "c:\Python26\lib\site-packages\pymqi.py", line 758, in connect raise MQMIError(rv[1], rv[2]) pymqi.MQMIError: MQI Error. Comp: 2, Reason 2540: FAILED: MQRC_UNKNOWN_CHANNEL_NAME There is QM_APPLE queue manager with Q1 local queue. What is wrong with my code?

  • In a distributed environment, how can I configure log4j to log to different files for each JVM insta

    - by Renan Mozone
My application runs on IBM WebSphere 6.1 Network Deployment. The application have several JSP files and Java classes. Today each host have only one JVM instance but my intention is to start another instance on each host. How can I configure log4j to log to different files for each JVM instance in the same host? I thought of using variable substitution on log4j XML configuration file but it only works with system properties. So, it is safe and recommended to set a custom system property just to store the JVM name? Anyone knows another strategy to achieve this in a 'elegant' way?

  • How "duplicated" Java code is optimized by the JVM JIT compiler?

    - by Renan Vinícius Mozone
I'm in charge of maintaining a JSP based application, running on IBM WebSphere 6.1 (IBM J9 JVM). All JSP pages have a static include reference and in this include file there is some static Java methods declared. They are included in all JSP pages to offer an "easy access" to those utility static methods. I know that this is a very bad way to work, and I'm working to change this. But, just for curiosity, and to support my effort in changing this, I'm wondering how these "duplicated" static methods are optimized by the JVM JIT compiler. They are optimized separately even having the exact same signature? Does the JVM JIT compiler "sees" that these methods are all identical an provides an "unified" JIT'ed code?

  • How to free up memory?

    - by sarego
We have been facing Out of Memory errors in our App server for sometime. We see the used heap size increasing gradually until finally it reaches the available heap in size. This happens every 3 weeks after which a server restart is needed to fix this. Upon analysis of the heap dumps we find the problem to be objects used in JSPs. Can JSP objects be the real cause of Appserver memory issues? How do we free up JSP objects (Objects which are being instantiated using usebean or other tags)? We have a clustered Websphere appserver with 2 nodes and an IHS.

  • JMS without JNDI?

    - by dbg
We are running portlets in WebSphere 6.01, using Java 1.4. We want to send JMS messages to a JBoss 5 queue, running Java 5 (or maybe 6, but it's certainly newer than 1.4). Trying to connect using JNDI is not working, since we have to include the JBoss client jars in the classpath of the portlet, and they are Java 1.5. So I get an unsupported major/minor error when I try to create the InitialContext. Can we connect straight to JBoss without using JNDI? Or is there some way to get around this issue I can't think of?

  • Where can I learn about JNDI strings?

    - by ferrari fan
How do you know how to form a JNDI string? I know there must be a format and that the divisions must mean something but I haven't been able to find a good resource that explains them. For example: java:comp/env/wm/default. This is supposed to connect to a WorkManager in Websphere with the name of default. But what does the "java", "comp", "env" mean? I know what the wm/default mean because that's the JNDI name put in the WorkManager, but what does the rest mean? Thanks

  • Can a war file be deployed on any server?

    - by Roshan
Please pardon me if this question is silly. Suppose I develop a j2ee web application using srping framework and a MS SQL Server database, using a Webspphere application server. I later create a war file for this application. Can I deploy this war file on a tomcat server without any change in code? Or my question is can this be hosted by web hosting which provides only Tomcat servers? If yes, is there any change in code required? If it cannot be deployed, can you please suggest me what to do, because I havent developed any application on a tomcat server. All the applications that I have developed have been on Websphere App Server using RAD.

  • Struts/JSP/J2EE performance and memory profiling and issues

    - by Berlin Brown
We are using Struts and having performance issues. And making heavy use of jsp includes, tiles, EL expressions. I am sure this is eating up a lot of memory and processing time. What are some approaches to profile the JSP page? What tools could I use? What should I look for when profiling? I have seen the code generated JSP Java Servlet Code and I see the bottlenecks but would rather measure it more accurately. This is under JDK1.5 and IBM Websphere 6.1 (RAD7)

  • How to detect Out Of Memory condition?

    - by Jaromir Hamala
I have an application running on Websphere Application Server 6.0 and it crashes nearly every day because of Out-Of-Memory. From verbose GC is certain there are the memory leaks(many of them) Unfortunately the application is provided by external vendor and getting things fixed is slow & painful process. As part of the process I need to gather the logs and heapdumps each time the OOM occurs. Now I'm looking for some way how to automate it. Fundamental problem is how to detect OOM condition. One way would be to create shell script which will periodically search for new heapdumps. This approach seems me a kinda dirty. Another approach might be to leverage the JMX somehow. But I have little or no experience in this area and don't have much idea how to do it. Or is in WAS some kind of trigger/hooks for this? Thank you very much for every advice!

  • How do you preform an EJB lookup with application security?

    - by Hillgod
I'm trying to lookup an EJB from a standalone java application. I'm thinking in terms of WebSphere Application Server 6.1, but if someone knows how to do this for another application server, it may get me in the right direction. What I'm currently doing: initialContext= new InitialContext(env); initialContext.lookup(""); lc = new LoginContext("WSLogin", new WSCallbackHandlerImpl("wasadmin", "defaultWIMFileBasedRealm", "wasadmin")); lc.login(); subject = lc.getSubject(); WSSubject.setRunAsSubject(subject); This isn't working... my subject is still "/UNAUTHENTICATED", and I get an error when I try to lookup the EJB. I'm also specifying the following parameters to the VM when executing the application: -Dcom.ibm.CORBA.ConfigURL="C:\was\profiles\AppSrv01\properties\sas.client.props" -Djava.security.auth.login.config="C:\was\profiles\AppSrv01\properties\wsjaas_client.conf"

  • Why Hibernates ignores the name attribute of the @Column annotation?

    - by svachon
Using Hibernate 3.3.1 and Hibernate Annotations 3.4, the database is DB2/400 V6R1, running that on WebSphere 7.0.0.9 I have the following class @Entity public class Ciinvhd implements Serializable { @Id private String ihinse; @Id @Column(name="IHINV#") private BigDecimal ihinv; .... } For reasons I can't figure, Hibernate ignores the specified column name and uses 'ihinv' to generate the SQL: select ciinvhd0_.ihinse as ihinse13_, ciinvhd0_.ihinv as ihinv13_, ... Which of course gives me the following error: Column IHINV not in table CIINVHD Did anyone had this problem before? I have other entities that are very alike in the way that they are using # in their database field names and that are part of the PK and I don't have this problem with them.

  • Network Access: I can't access 192.168.1.101 from 192.168.1.102.

    - by takpar
Hi, I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 on my PC with IP 192.168.1.101. every thing work fine, e.g. my web server is running and I can see http://localhost/ or http://192.168.1.101 properly. But the problem is that I cannot see my PC from my laptop at 192.168.1.102 e.g. at my laptop http://192.168.1.101 gives Connection timed out in browser. or trying to telnet on any port leads to: telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection timed out laptop is running a fresh install of Ubuntu as well and there is no setup for firewall stuff in both computers. PS: Both computers can ping each other well. The router is a cicso linksys wireless ADSL modem. Currently, I can connect to FTP server on the Windows running on 192.168.1.102 from 192.168.1.101 without problem. • Ubuntu 12.04 + Wifi not working

    - by user171154
i'm having problems connecting over wireless. At the moment, I'm using wicd. It seems to get stuck on "Verifying AP association...". Without wicd I can get the connection up and ping the Net - but if I take eth0 down (ifconfig eth0 down), my wireless goes away too (same result if I unplug the wire instead). wicd is the only way I can bring eth0 back (which is the main reason I'm using it) - ifconfig eth0 and/or ifup eth0 do not re-enable the connection (I just discovered it leaves out the gateway. Adding the gateway back in re-enables the connection including wifi; I didn't want to delete the info about wicd above in case it gives someone an idea.) Doing it manually, despite the errors (which it would be nice to also resolve) - allows me to ping the outside world: ifup wlan0 ioctl[SIOCSIWENCODEEXT]: Invalid argument ioctl[SIOCSIWENCODEEXT]: Invalid argument ssh stop/waiting ssh start/running, process 17336 ping -I wlan0 -c 4 8.8.8.8 PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8) from 192.168.0.12 wlan0: 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_req=1 ttl=43 time=48.8 ms 64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_req=2 ttl=43 time=47.9 ms 64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_req=3 ttl=43 time=48.7 ms 64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: icmp_req=4 ttl=43 time=53.2 ms --- 8.8.8.8 ping statistics --- 4 packets transmitted, 4 received, 0% packet loss, time 3003ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 47.975/49.711/53.235/2.063 ms # • Error 404: No target servlet configured for uri

    - by Aman
Hi Experts, I just got done with a new Web module built with Spring Framework. Till now I was testing all the pages on my local machine using Tomcat. Today after I moved the application to Websphere, I am getting the following error: Error 404: No target servlet configured for uri is there anything I need to do in web.xml or somewhere? I deployed an EAR file on my WAS , which has another war file. Below is the output I am seeing on the console, if thats any help. The resource WEB-INF/ibm-web-bnd.xmi that is defined in URI WEB-INF/ibm-web-bnd.xmi for module analytics.war is not valid. The resource has a cross reference org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.webapplication.internal.impl.WebAppImpl@4be44be4 (eProxyURI: WEB-INF/web.xml#WebApp_ID) that cannot be resolved. I developed a webservice and deployed it to websphere 7.0 and developed a dynamic dispatch client using JAX-WS APIs which also runs on same application server. I get error at the following line: Dispatch dispatch = service.createDispatch(portName, SOAPMessage.class, Service.Mode.MESSAGE); Error: Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com/sun/istack/logging/Logger.getLogger(Ljava/lang/Class;)Lcom/sun/istack/logging/Logger; at com.sun.xml.ws.api.config.management.policy.ManagementAssertion.(ManagementAssertion.java:87) at java.lang.J9VMInternals.initializeImpl(Native Method) at java.lang.J9VMInternals.initialize(J9VMInternals.java:200) at java.lang.J9VMInternals.initialize(J9VMInternals.java:167) at com.sun.xml.ws.server.MonitorBase.createManagedObjectManager(MonitorBase.java:177) at com.sun.xml.ws.client.Stub.(Stub.java:196) at com.sun.xml.ws.client.Stub.(Stub.java:174) at com.sun.xml.ws.client.dispatch.DispatchImpl.(DispatchImpl.java:129) at com.sun.xml.ws.client.dispatch.SOAPMessageDispatch.(SOAPMessageDispatch.java:77) at com.sun.xml.ws.api.pipe.Stubs.createSAAJDispatch(Stubs.java:143) at com.sun.xml.ws.api.pipe.Stubs.createDispatch(Stubs.java:264) at com.sun.xml.ws.client.WSServiceDelegate.createDispatch(WSServiceDelegate.java:390) at com.sun.xml.ws.client.WSServiceDelegate.createDispatch(WSServiceDelegate.java:401) at com.sun.xml.ws.client.WSServiceDelegate.createDispatch(WSServiceDelegate.java:383) at javax.xml.ws.Service.createDispatch(Service.java:336) I included the following dependency. javax.xml.ws jaxws-api 2.1 I also tried adding policy dependency (versions - 2.2 and 2.2.1) com.sun.xml.ws policy 2.2.1 Any ideas on what more dependencies I need to add?
