• Scrolling when idle?

  Can anyone point me to an example of code for a page that begins to automatically scroll when the user is idle for an amount of time? I think this is slightly beyond my skill set. I think JQuery or something similar might be appropriate but I just can't seem to figure it out. I'm designing a site for the nonprofit I work for and we don't have the money to hire a programmer. I wouldn't ask anyone to code anything for me, just to point me in the right direction. Thank you so much. Julie K.

  HI all, I am working on SaaS Hosting Software. a large number of sites are hosted on the server. I am trying to calculate bandwidth consumption, (bytes transferred in and out) using C#, described Here using the MS Log Parser. In the above case, if the log files are deleted by the user or any administrator even, the bandwidth calculation will not be possible. Q1: *What is the standard way to measure the Bandwidth for various Hosting accounts (of websites) on a single server?* Q2: *If Log parser mechanism (as described above) is used, then how to take care of the security issue? Is there some system directory or event viewer logs or something which cannot be deleted except by the System account and contains bandwidth data?* Please point me in the right direction. Thanks

• Adding a UIBarButtonItem to a programattically allocated UINavigationBar

  I have a cameraoverlayview that allocates a UINavigationBar to the top of the screen like this - CGRect navbarFrame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 44); navigationBar = [[UINavigationBar alloc] initWithFrame:navbarFrame]; navigationBar.delegate = self; Now I want to add a UIBarButtonItem as the left button to the navigation bar, but the standard navigationbar.leftitem doesn't work. So I tried doing this - closebutton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:closebuttontext style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:self action:@selector(close)]; navigationBar.topItem.leftBarButtonItem = closebutton; But it doesn't work either. Can anyone point me in the right direction? As far as the navigation bar loading up correctly in the cameraoverlayview, it works 100%.

With the mx:Stroke within the mx:horizontalStroke, I can only set properties like weight, color and alpha. I'd like to make the line dotted...   I'm trying to create a Gradient Brush in windows mobile as follows: HBITMAP hBitmap = CreateBitmap(16, 16, 1, 16, NULL); HDC hDC = CreateCompatibleDC(NULL); HBITMAP hPrevious = SelectObject(hDC,hBitmap); TRIVERTEX vert[2]; GRADIENT_RECT gRect; ... fill in vert and gRect GradientFill(hDC, vert, 2,&gRect, 1, Direction); SelectObject(hDC, hPrevious); Delete(hDC); HBRUSH hPatternBrush = CreatePatternBrush(hBitmap); HDC hDC = BeginPaint(hWnd, &ps); SelectObject(hDC, hPatternBrush); RoundRect(hDC, ...); EndPaint(hWND, &ps); This code create a round rect with a black background, not the pattern brush. I can draw the hBitmap which is used to create the brush and it draws the gradient. Anyone got a solution?

• 2D collision detection and stuff with OpenGL

  I am working on a simple 2D openGL project. It contains a main actor you can control with the keyboard arrows. I got that to work okay. What I am wanting is something that can help explain how to make another actor object follow the main actor. Maybe a tutorial on openGL. The three main things I need to learn are the actor following, collision detection, and some kind of way to create gravity. Any good books or tutorials to help get me in the right direction would be great.

• Using Add-on SDK to add toolbar buttons? Integrating XUL and Add-on SDK for Firefox Add-ons?

  I have already coded most of a Firefox add-on using the Add-on SDK API. I am now discovering that Add-on SDK might not be powerful enough for my purposes. I need two things: A drop down button in the toolbar next to the location bar. To modify the add-ons manager in firefox It is truly disappointing, but I don't believe either of these is possible with the Add-on SDK. First of all, I understand there is a widget module in the Add-on SDK API. But this only allows me to add a simple icon or label to the awkward add-on bar. What if I need to add a nicer button like the one next to the location bar for Firebug or Greasemonkey? As for modifying the add-ons manager in firefox, I have tried Nickolay Ponomarev's XUL with the Add-on SDK without any success whatsoever. If anyone knows how to get this working and can point me in the right direction that would be extremely helpful (cfx init --template xul doesn't do anything the regular SDK does when I try it)

• Newbie Android question

  Hi folks, I have just started with Android with the usual Hello World project template in Eclipse. I modified the layout XML and removed the label that says "Hello World, !", and added a couple of other controls. However, these are not reflected in the app, within the emulator. When I run this app from Eclipse again it is still showing the Hello World label! I'm sure it's something terribly simple that I have completely missed. • Trying to integrate Jeditable+MarkItUp and Thickbox/Lightbox

  I've managed to successfully integrate MarkItUp with Jeditable based on the instructions on those two sites. What I would really like to do, however, is to have the Jeditable/MarkItUp editing window appear in a Thickbox or Lightbox overlay. So far my attempts to do this have not been successful. So, at the moment, I have the standard code: $.editable.addInputType('markitup', { element : $.editable.types.textarea.element, plugin : function(settings, original) { $('textarea', this).markItUp(settings.markitup); } }); $(".editme").editable("/content/save", { event : 'dblclick', type : 'markitup', submit : 'OK', cancel : 'Cancel', width : 640, height : 'auto', tooltip : 'Double-click to edit...', onblur : 'ignore', markitup : mySettings }); I've found other posts here that show how to trigger the edit box by clicking on a link rather than the object itself, and I've tried integrating that with the Thickbox calls, to no avail. • AJAX is reloading page on a SharePoint site (SharePoint 2007 AJAX-enabled)

  I have an AJAX-enabled SharePoint 2007 site. I have also created a user control that has an interactive ajax form. It obviuosly works like a charm locally, but I am trying to get it working on the SharePoint site. The problem is that once I load up the user control on to an aspx page inside SharePoint, the form (which has ajax), causes the page to reload every time a postback occurs. Can someone help point me in the direction of debugging this? - I really need to eliminate the page refreshes and have the ajax work correctly in SharePoint. I read that the ScriptManager has to be in the SharePoint masterpage, but that did not work either... Page still reloads everytime. Thanks.

  I have data in the form { {x,y,z,f}...} I am using ListContourPlot3D but all I get is an empty box with dimensions -1,1 in each direction. Here is my code: ListContourPlot3D[data5, PlotRange - All, AxesLabel - {"[Beta]", "[Omega]", "Vo"}, Contours - {1500}]. These are the first 5 points of my data:( the whole set has 55 points) {{200, 20000 10^(1/3), 2000, 1226}, {200, 20000 10^(1/3), 2600, 1422}, {200, 20000 10^(1/3), 3200, 1581}, {200, 20000 10^(1/3), 3800, 1761}, {200, 20000 10^(1/3), 4400, 1872}} Dimensions[data5] returns {55,4} If I do IntegerPart[data5] it does it correctly so it must recognize the numbers in my data. • Large PHP enable web form - around 75 field - how best to send email with all fields?

  Have created simple Ajax enabled contact forms before that have around 12 fields - worked fine.... Now working on a PHP enabled web page for job applications that has around 100 fields. The ajax technique I was using was to send request via querystrings (&val1=test;&val2=test2 and etc ...) That is not going to scale very well with larger form with 100+ fields.   Hi I am having a set of Links in my page and I have attached the facebox jQuery functionality so that whenever a link is pressed, it will get a nice popup <a href="coach_selector_popup?day=<%= day %>&hour=<%= hour %>" rel="facebox"> Below is the script that I use for 'facebox'ing. <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery(document).ready(function($) { jQuery('a[rel*=facebox]').facebox() }) </script> The above is working fine. But when I render it again on response to some AJAX call, the functionality is getting lost, meaning when I click on the link I am redirected to a page instead of a facebox popup. I know that I need to do something when I repaint, can someone point me to the right direction?

  I have an update panel within which a sortable grid is present. While sorting, I have to change an image which shows the sort direction. The sort is an ajax operation initiated by a linkbutton for each column. Everything works fine except the image control. I am able to toggle visible property to show and hide it but, not able to change the ImageUrl property. imagesort.ImageUrl = "~/images/asc.jpg"; imagesort.Visible = true; The above code shows the image but the image is always the imageurl given in the markup not what is set in the code. If imageurl is not specified in the markup, no image(broken image) is shown irrespective of the above code.

  In my other question I spotted a bug in the Eclipse wst.jsdt. If I want to fix this myself, what are the knowledge dependencies for doing so? My guess would be: Know how to use CVS Know how to use Bugzilla Know how to develop core libraries in Eclipse Know how to develop plugins in Eclipse Know how to develop for the wst.jsdt project I've never done the latter three, so I was just wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction. I already looked at a document for developing in JSDT, but I'm still a little uncertain about what I need to look for to develop for Eclipse, since it comes in various flavors/distros (i.e. WDT)

• Sub-classing TreeView in WinForms for mouse over tool tips

  Ok, this is a weird one. The expected behaviour for a TreeView control is that, if ShowNodeToolTips is set to false, then, when a label for a tree node exceeds the width of the control (or, more accurately, it's right hand edge is past the right hand edge of the client area), then a tooltip is shown above the node showing the full item's text. I'd like to disable that, because the above semantic doesn't always work, depending on what the treeview is contained within. So I have rolled my own, and got the tooltips to work (and line up better than the default one!) - but I would like to be able to disable the 'default' behaviour for situations where it would work natively. So, can anyone point me in the right direction as to which message to post to the TreeView in order to disable that behaviour? I have looked at the windows control reference, but couldn't find anything that looked like it might be the one.

• Subnav "active" when it shouldn't be.

I think the problem lies with the initial LI controlling the ul underneath somehow. I need to keep the xhtml formatted exactly how it is right now and only change the CSS to fix this problem. I'd appreciate any help you may be able to point me in the right direction, I'm pretty stuck at this point. Thank you in advance!

• Can everything be done programmatically in WCF or are configuration files for certain features?

  I have a strong preference for working in code, leverage IntelliSense and opening up all of the power of the C# language to work with WCF but I want to make sure that I'm not moving in a direction that ultimately will limit the WCF feature set I can access. My experience is so limited with WCF that I don't understand the benefits of using the configuration files, especially if you can do everything in code (?). Note: I'm using .NET 3.5. Can you do 'everything' with WCF programmatically or are configuration files required for the full WCF feature set?

• Automating scraping of table data to XML

  Problem I have a YQL query result that I'm trying to get converted and sort into a clean XML file. Background Being the pains that they are, information from the World Cup isn't freely available in an easy to reuse format. So, after a bit of finessing with YQL I have managed to liberate the required table rows which contain the data I'm after. The YQL query can be viewed at: http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql/ravingbeefsteak/worldcup2010groupliberator?diagnostics=true I'd like to now convert this information into XML, and being an absolute n00b I don't know where to start or what to look for. I'm also needing to do a find and replace on the data to get the URL's working as they should without manual changes, and hopefully an initial sorting of the data. If anyone can point me in the right direction of what I need to be doing to make my needs a reality it would be greatly appreciated.

• batch file that detects keystrokes. how?

  im designing a collection of video games for the command line (such as deal or no deal, tic tac toe, racing, maze puzzle, connect four, wack a mole, etc.) however it would really make things easier for me if i could make it so that when the user makes a selection (such as what direction to move in the game) , that as soon as they press the arrow keys then it carries out the IF statements that follow. Instead of having to press enter after each selection. something like... :one1 set /p direction1= : IF %direction1%== {ARROW KEY LEFT} goto two2 IF %direction1%== {ARROW KEY RIGHT} goto three3 IF %direction1%== {ARROW KEY UP} goto four4 IF %direction1%== {ARROW KEY DOWN} goto five5 goto one1 Any Ideas?
