  I have an application on my server that is called leaf.exe, that haves two arguments needed to run, they are: inputfile and outputfile, that will be like this example: pnote.exe input.pnt output.txt The executable is at exec/, inputfile is at upload/ and outputfile is on compiled/. But I need that a PHP could run the application like that, then I want to know: How could I do this on a server that have exec() disabled and I can't turn it on, because I don't have privileges to do it? How could I echo the output of the program?

  I assume arguments to my shell scripts willbe ./x.sh subject N file1 file2 fileN So I am splicing argv from 3 till end candidates=${@:3} now I want to check whether length of candidates is same as given N I am trying with echo $((${#candidates[@]})) which is always returning 1. I can do echo "$#-2" | bc but, I shouldn't I be able to get array size ? I can use bc to do integer comparison. but I've to know the size of `candidates array which I am not getting properly.

  Hello everybody! I use "file-roller" to manage with archieves on my Ubuntu. But it fails on running without user interface(just teminal).   I have a Windows CE console application that's entry point looks like this int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) I want to check the contents of argv[1] for "-s" convert argv[2] into an integer. I am having trouble narrowing the arguments or accessing them to test. I initially tried the following with little success if (argv[1] == L"-s") I also tried using the narrow function of wostringstream on each character but this crashed the application. • Tuning garbage collections for low latency

  I'm looking for arguments as to how best to size the young generation (with respect to the old generation) in an environment where low latency is critical. My own testing tends to show that latency is lowest when the young generation is fairly large (eg. -XX:NewRatio <3), however I cannot reconcile this with the intuition that the larger the young generation the more time it should take to garbage collect. The application runs on linux, jdk 6 before update 14, i.e G1 not available.

  I'm trying to use a PreparedStatement with code similar to this: SELECT * FROM ? WHERE name = ? Obviously, what happens when I use setString() to set the table and name field is this: SELECT * FROM 'my_table' WHERE name = 'whatever' and the query doesn't work. Is there a way to set the String without quotes so the line looks like this: SELECT * FROM my_table WHERE name = 'whatever' or should I just give it up and use the regular Statement instead (the arguments come from another part of the system, neither of those is entered by a user)?
