  • Conditional Formatting of a Cell Based on Color Value in that Cell in Excel

    Is is possible to format a cell based on one component of the RGB value inside of it. For example, let's say I have 3 cells - A1, A2, A3. In A1, I want the cell color to be the shade of red anywhere between 0 and 255 of the number in the cell (so if it is 128, it should be like half red). For that given cell, the other values will just be 0, 0 (so in this case, zero green and zero blue). Is this possible?

    Suppose a user process has authenticated itself against domain's directory server via kerberos, and then attempts opens a network socket to my server application. My server application has a white-list of users from the domain directory server. How does my server app authenticate the user from the directory based on this socket opening attempt? (To keep things simple - let's say my server is written in Java, and the directory server is Active Directory) EDIT My question is about how the client asks for an authentication token.

    I'm looking for recommendations for an easy to use reporting/business intelligence tool that can interface with an sql server or access database. It can be web-based or a desktop tool. Ideally it would be freeware or low cost, and easy to use for users who are not that technically savvy (below the level of someone who can generate reports and complicated queries in Access). Any tools I've seen so far (such as Crystal Reports) are either too expensive or too complicated to use for non-power users.

  • How do I make a LDAP query-based dynamic distribution group in Exchange 2010

    I see that there were ways in Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 to just put in an LDAP query and it would populate the group for you. Is there any way to do that in Exchange 2010? I know there's dynamic distribution groups but I don't want to create the group based on one of their pre-set queries and I don't want to mess around with "custom attributes". I just want to put an LDAP query in there and make it run it to populate the distribution group.

    Basically, we have one external IP address, several servers internally and want to redirect to each internal server based on request URL. We do not want to install another piece of hardware to do this for us but we have a firewall running Linux that currently forwards to only one of the internal servers.     Is there a preferred way to create root file-systems for Debian-based customized installations? We are currently going with multistrap but although it's better than hand-crafted chroot stuff, it still has a lot of edges and corners. Is there a more reliable and less error-prone way to produce a root filesystem of a Debian installation with some additional .debs installed? (I don't want to send out a Debian installer with a preseed file though.)

    I am trying to pass a JSON array to a WCF service. But it doesn't seem to work. I actually pulled an array [GetStudents] out the service and sent the exact same array back to the service [SaveStudents] and nothing (empty array) was received.     I cannot seem to get unity working when attempting to pass in an array of strings into a constructor parameter list, while using XML configuration. When I try the following: <typeConfig ...> <constructor ...> <param ... parameterType="System.String[]"> <array> <value.../> <value.../> </array> </param> </constructor> </typeConfig> for a c'tor which looks like this: void Foo(string[] inputParams_){ ... } It always fails in Unity's FindConstructor(...) method stating that it cannot find a c'tor mathcing the parameter type of String.String Does anyone know how to pass an array of stings successfully into this type of c'tor? If not, how can I do so with a list of strings, if the c'tor were to accept an IList? Thanks!

  • HP DL380 RAID5 Mistake

    I had drives fail in both logical drives on a server. When I replaced failed 146GB drive in Raid 5 array with four (4) 146GB drives. On reboot the Smart Array controller asked if I wanted to accept data loss. Guess mistake to choose yes. Can't seem to find a way to get system to repair RAID5 but it seems to want to just create a new partition. Is there anyway I can go back and get the system to restore the data from other three drives now that I said accept data loss?

  • Sparse matrices / arrays in Java

    I'm working on a project, written in Java, which requires that I build a very large 2-D sparse array. Very sparse, if that makes a difference. Anyway: the most crucial aspect for this application is efficency in terms of time (assume loads of memory, though not nearly so unlimited as to allow me to use a standard 2-D array -- the key range is in the billions in both dimensions). Out of the kajillion cells in the array, there will be several hundred thousand cells which contain an object. I need to be able to modify cell contents VERY quickly. Anyway: Does anyone know a particularly good library for this purpose? It would have to be Berkeley, LGPL or similar license (no GPL, as the product can't be entirely open-sourced). Or if there's just a very simple way to make a homebrew sparse array object, that'd be fine too. I'm considering MTJ, but haven't heard any opinions on its quality. Thanks!! -Dan

  • PHP Stop Word List

    I'm playing about with a stop words within my code I have an array full of words that I'd like to check, and an array of words I want to check against. At the moment I'm looping through the array one at at a time and removing the word if its in_array vs the stop word list but I wonder if there's a better way of doing it, I've looked at array_diff and such however if I have multiple stop words in the first array, array_diff only appears to remove the first occurrence. The focus is on speed and memory usage but speed more so. Thanks
