  • when i merge a data table with a typed dataset, one single field on a single row is DBNull sometimes

    Hi everybody, I have a strange problem sometimes when I try to merge a data table with a typed dataset my data table is filled in with a stored procedure and when I checked the content of this table it is ok, everything is in there straight after I merge it with my core typed dataset like this : MyTypedDataSet.TheTable.Clear(); MyTypedDataSet.TheTable.Merge(MyDataTable); and now if i check the table in the dataset everything is ok except only one single field on one single row which is DBNull, that makes no sense because the source data table contains the good integer vaue.     I need to write a gui in Tkinter that can choose a csv file, read it in and generate a sequence of buttons based on the names in the first row of the csv file (later the data in the csv file should be used to run a number of simulations).     Hi All, I have a quick linq question. I have a stored proc that should return one row of data. I would like to use a lambda to build an object. Here's what I'm currently doing which works, but I know I should be able to use First instead of Select except I can't seem to get the syntax correct. Can anyone straighten me out here?     For so many time, I have encountered problems with managing image having abnormally long height or width. If I fixed their height and widht, they will appear streched? If I fixed their width, and if the height of the image is very long then also it will mess up the overall website. If I fixed their height, and if the width of the image is very long then also it will mess up the overall website. The images I save in the local drive are saved maintaining the ratio? Let say user decides to upload image 1(height)*32(width). When he uploads this image, the script is made to resize the user uploaded image to height:1000px(just an example) So the resulting image in 1000px(height)*32000(widht), you see now the image is abnormally large. Now while displaying this image in a box of 1000px * 1000px, what is the best way to display this image?

    I am trying to do the following: I have row 1. I have values A1, B1, and C1. A1 contains a few names separated by a comma. I want to split A1 by these names while copying over the values from B1 and C1 into the split columns of A1. For example, I have this: (A1 B1 C1) bob,sam,bill 99 10 I want to have this: bob 99 10 sam 99 10 bill 99 10 I am also doing this on Google Sheets, I tried using combinations of Split, Join, and Transpose but can't seem to figure it out.     Hello all! I am using Hibernate and getting Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.ObjectNotFoundException: No row with the given identifier exists: [<MyDbObject>#271] What is pretty weird about this error is, that the object with the given id exists in the database. I inserted the problematic record in another run of the application. If I access it in the same run (i.e. same hibernate session) there seem to be no problems retrieving the data. Just because it could be a fault of the mapping: public class ProblemClass { @ManyToOne(optional = false) private MyDbObject myDbObject; } public class MyDbObject { @OneToMany(mappedBy = "myDbObject") private List<ProblemClass> problemClasses; } I have absolutely no clue even where to look at. Any hints highly appreciated!

    I'd like to use the DataGridView control as a list with columns. Sort of like ListView in Details mode but I want to keep the DataGridView flexibility. ListView (with Details view and FullRowSelect enabled) highlights the whole line and shows the focus mark around the whole line: DataGridView (with SelectionMode = FullRowSelect) displays focus mark only around a single cell: So, does anyone know of some (ideally) easy way to make the DataGridView row selection look like the ListView one? I'm not looking for a changed behaviour of the control - I only want it to look the same. Ideally, without messing up with the methods that do the actual painting.

    _stuckVertices is an array of pointers and I would like to update one index of that array without using _stuckVertices[ (row * _cols) + column ] 3 times. The reason it is an array of pointers is because the vast majority of the time the pointer will be NULL. The following code works but I need to dereference a each time I use it: void Cloth::stickPoint(int column, int row) { Anchor **a = &_stuckVertices[ (row * _cols) + column ]; if (!*a) *a = new Anchor(this, column, row); (*a)->stick(); } I originally had it written like this, but the _stuckVertices pointer doesn't get updated: void Cloth::stickPoint(int column, int row) { Anchor *a = _stuckVertices[ (row * _cols) + column ]; if (!a) a = new Anchor(this, column, row); a->stick(); } Is there a way to write Anchor *a = _stuckVertices[ index ] so that a is like an alias into the array that I can update, or is something like the first piece of code how I should do this? So suppose on line 3, I want to detect if row has changed, and if so, set row.UpdateDate = DateTime.Now. If row has not changed, I don't want to set row.UpdateDate so that no SQL is generated. Is there any good way to do this?

    I have a combo box with a row source based on an SQL query about like SELECT DISTINCT Database_New.ASEC FROM Database_New WHERE Database_New.Date= DateSerial([cboYear], 1, 1) And Database_New.Date<= DateSerial([cboYear], 12, 31); the trouble is that if I change the value of cboYear, the values in the drop down cboASEC do not update. I have to open the query, save it and close it to get the thing to update while I have the form open. Is there a way to get the cboASEC to update somehow? maybe a little tidbit of code in the cboYear - afterupdate?

The datatable draws from a database list. this.cboList.DataSource = pullData(); this.cboList.DisplayMember = "fieldA"; Once the DataSource is set I am not able to insert a default row (ie *) as the first item in the combobox. I tried this: this.cboList.Items.Insert(0,"*"); Is there a way to insert in the combobox after the datasource is set or should this be done in the datatable?

    I have a table with 300 million rows in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. There is a clustered index on the date column [DataDate] which means that the entire table is ordered by the date column. How do I stream out the data from this table, into my .NET application, in 10000 row chunks? Environment: Using C#. Have to be able to pause the data stream at any point, to allow the client to process the rows. Unfortunately, cannot use a select * from as this will select the entire table (its 50GB - it won't fit into memory).

So, I'm trying to do a sliding navigation UI from the left side of the screen (like a lot of mobile apps). The main content slides over, displaying the navigation menu beneath. Right now the browser thinks the screen is getting wider and introduces a horizontal scroll bar. However, I don't want that to happen...     Hi I have some fairly simple requirements but I'm not sure how I implement them: I have multiple concurrent threads running the same query The query supplies a 'string' value - if it exists in the table, the query should return the id of the matching row, if not the query should insert the 'string' value and return the last inserted id The 'string' column is (and must be) a text column (it's bigger than varchar 255) so I cannot set it as unique - uniqueness must be enforced through the access mechanism The query needs to be in stored procedure format (which doesnt support table locks in MySQL) How can I guarantee that 'string' is unique? How can I prevent other threads writing to the table after another thread has read it and found no matching 'string' item? Thanks for any advice..
