Alas, QuickSend does always send "Connection reset by peer #10054". I tried to modify the MIB-OID and I also tried the IP 127.0.0.1 which connection should never fail. • problem with XAMPP, access forbidden... looking for d:\xampp not c:\xampp

  I have been using xampp for a while now without any problem. All of a sudden I start xampp today and I am getting an "Error 403 Access Forbidden" when I try to go to my Localhost. When I check the error logs for apache it says: [Mon Mar 22 21:48:57 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] client denied by server configuration: D:/xaamp This is strange, it should first of all say "C:" and second of all say "Xampp" (not xaamp). Where would I change this is my config files. Have no idea how this could have happened.

• StackOverflow Exception in Umanaged Dll When Called from Managed DLL

  My question is similar to this one here, but there are some difference. I have a fortran dll as the backend, and a C# exe as the front end. I use PInvoke to pass data between them. There are 22 parameters between the C# and the fortran code. And some of them are integer, double, pointers ( C# pointers), array and whatnot. So it's a mix of types. The problem is that for small arrays, the code works fine, however, for large arrays (~10k element size), a stackoverflowexception was thrown right after my code enters into the managed code. Any idea why this is the case, and how to fix this?

  Fellows, I'm going crazy with looks like a really stupid problem. I'm trying to build a simple example using PostSharp as a log AOP utility. I've not installed PostSharp, and I don't want to, I want to reference the necessaries DLLs, change my .csproj and see everything working. Change the project and add references was kind of easy, byt just after adding the LogAttribute to a method I got two errors: Error 1 'Log4PostSharp.LogAttribute' is not an attribute class C:\Dev\LogWithPostsharp\LogWithPostsharpCmd\Program.cs 17 10 LogWithPostsharpCmd Error 2 The type 'PostSharp.Extensibility.MulticastAttribute' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. • Way to Remove Invite Limit on FBML Multi-Friend Selector

  Hi there, I tried to look through various resources before posting here, but was having a surprisingly difficult time finding an answer to my question. Sorry in advance if I overlooked it. I'm currently trying to add the FBML Multi-Friend Selector to my Facebook page. It has a limit on the number of friends you can invite at a time ("Add up to 20 of your friends by clicking on their pictures below"). From what I've looked through it sounds like 20 is the max number of friends a user can invite, but then looking at Mint's page, they have a 22 max invite (http://www.facebook.com/mint?ref=ts) I thought it might be based on number of page fans, as Mint has 56,000, but that doesn't seem to be the case as this page only has 256 fans and have a max of 26 friend invites (http://www.facebook.com/tivix?v=app_106437999388442). Therefore, I don't really understand how this system works. Is there a way for me to increase to 26? Unlimited? Thanks for your help!

• Trying to run WCF web service on non-domain VM, Security Errors

  Am I in a Catch-22 situation here? My goal is to take a WCF service that I inherited, and run it on a VM and test it by calling it from my desktop PC. The VM is in a workgroup, and not in the company's domain. Basically, we need more test environments, ideally one per developer (we may have 2 to 4 people that need this). Thus the idea of the VM was that each developer could have his own web server that somewhat matches or real environment (where we actually have two websites, an external/exposed and internal). [Using VS2010 .NET 4.0] In the internal service, each method was decorated with this attribute: [OperationBehavior(Impersonation = ImpersonationOption.Required)] I'm still researching why this was needed. I think it's because a webapp calls the "internal" service, and either a) we need the credentials of the user, or b) we may doing some PrinciplePermission.Demands to see if the user is in a group. My interest is creating some ConsoleTest programs or UnitTest programs. I changed to allowed like this: [OperationBehavior(Impersonation = ImpersonationOption.Allowed)] because I was getting this error in trying to view the .svc in the browser: The contract operation 'EditAccountFamily' requires Windows identity for automatic impersonation. A Windows identity that represents the caller is not provided by binding ('WSHttpBinding','http://tempuri.org/') for contract ('IAdminService','http://tempuri.org/'. I don't get that error with the original bindings look like this: However, I believe I need to turn off this security since the web service is not on the domain. I tend to get these errors in the client: 1) The request for security token could not be satisfied because authentication failed - as an InnerException of "SecurityNegotiation was unhandled". or 2) The caller was not authenticated by the service as an InnerException of "SecurityNegotiation was unhandled". So can I create some configuration of code and web.config that will allow each developer to work on his own VM? Or must I join the VM to the domain? The number of permutations seems near endless. I've started to create a Word.doc that says what to do with each error, but now I'm in the catch-22 where I'm stuck. • How to get Passive FTP Working Through an Iptables Firewall?

  I have an iptables firewall running on a Fedora Linux server that is basically being used as a firewall router and OpenVPN server. That's it. We have been using the same iptables firewall code for YEARS. I did make some changes on 21 December to re-route a mySQL port, but given what has happened I've completely backed those changes out. Sometime after those changes were made and backed out passive FTP, served from a vsftpd process, stopped working. We use a passive ftp client to FLING (that's the name of the ftp client running under Windows! :-) ) images from our remote telescopes to our server. I believe it is something in the firewall code because I can drop the firewall and the FTP file transfer (and connecting to the ftp site with Internet Explorer to see the file list) works. When I raise the iptables firewall, it stops working. Again, this is code that we'd been using for years. However, I felt that maybe there was something I missed, so we had a .bak file from 2009 that I used. Same behavior, passive ftp does not work. So, I went and rebuilt the firewall code line by line to see what line was causing the problem. Everything worked until I put the line -A FORWARD -j DROP in very near the end. Of course, if I am correct, this is the line that basically "turns on" the firewall, saying drop everything except for the exceptions I've made above. However, this line has been in the iptables code probably since 2003. So, I'm at the end of my rope, and I still can't figure out why this has stopped working. I guess I need an expert on iptables configuration.   I cloned a git repo that I have hosted on github to my laptop. I was able to successfully push a couple of commits to github without problem. • Is PHP serialize function compatible UTF-8 ?

  I have a site I want to migrate from ISO to UTF-8. I have a record in database indexed by the following primary key : s:22:"Informations générales"; The problem is, now (with UTF-8), when I serialize the string, I get : s:24:"Informations générales"; (notice the size of the string is now the number of bytes, not string length) So this is not compatible with non-utf8 previous records ! Did I do something wrong ? How could I fix this ? Thanks

  I've been searching around trying to find an answer to this question, and I can't seem to track it down. Maybe it's too late in the evening to figure the answer out, so I turn to the excellent readers here. I have the following bit of JSON data that I am pulling out of a CouchDB record: "{\"description\":\"fdsafsa\",\"order\":\"1\",\"place\":\"22 Plainsman Rd, Mississauga, ON, Canada\",\"lat\":43.5969175,\"lng\":-79.7248744,\"locationDate\":\"03/24/2010\"},{\"description\":\"sadfdsa\",\"order\":\"2\",\"place\":\"50 Dawnridge Trail, Brampton, ON, Canada\",\"lat\":43.7304774,\"lng\":-79.8055435,\"locationDate\":\"03/26/2010\"}," This data is stored inside a Python dict under the key 'locations' in a dict called 'my_plan'. I want to covert this data from CouchDB into a Python dict so I can do the following in a Django template: {% for location in my_plan.locations %} <tr> <td>{{ location.place }}</td> <td>{{ location.locationDate }}</td> </tr> {% endfor %} I've found lots of info on converting dicts to JSON, but nothing on going back the other way Thanks in advance for the help!

• Cross domain AJAX requests using YQL

  Hi , I need to query a locations WOEID and grab the WOEID value from the xml returned. So the user would type e.g. London, UK and I need to load the query as below: http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql?q=select%20woeid%20from%20geo.places%20where%20text%20%3D%20%22London%2C%20UK%2C%20UK%22&format=xml After which I need to grab the WOEID value from the XML content returned. I know this can be done when HTML content is returned as this link shows - http://ajaxian.com/archives/using-yql-as-a-proxy-for-cross-domain-ajax Is there a way to use similar code to query the XML data returned? Thanks alot
