• SeriesInterpolate - removing data at start of array

  Hello all, I've been experimenting with Flex Charts (in Flash Builder 4) recently, but have run into one area which didn't quite work as I was expecting. Specifically, when adding and removing a data point from an array, with SeriesInterpolate set. I've put up three examples, as I expect these will make a lot more sense than me trying to explain it with words only!: http://sprymedia.co.uk/media/misc/flex/linechart/LineChart-Add.swf - Clicking the button in the top right adds a new data point to the end of the data array, and the chart is smoothly updated (almost smoothly there is a 1px shift when animating which is odd...) http://sprymedia.co.uk/media/misc/flex/linechart/LineChart-Delete.swf - Clicking the button (which is now labelled incorrectly) will remove the item at the start of the data array - but the chart draws this as if it were removing the end element. http://sprymedia.co.uk/media/misc/flex/linechart/LineChart-AddDelete.swf - This is sort of what I'm eventually aiming for - a smooth side scroll chart, where new data is added at the end and the old data is sifted off the front. However the delete behaviour makes this look a bit odd. Does anyone know if there is a way to get the smooth transition I'm looking with SeriesInterpolate? • @Autowire strange problem

  Hello, I have a strange behaviour when autowiring I have a similar code like this one, and it works @Controller public class Class1 { @Autowired private Class2 object2; ... } @Service @Transactional public class Class2{ ... } The problem is that I need that the Class2 implements an interface so I've only changed the Class2 so it's now like: @Controller public class Class1 { @Autowired private Class2 object2; ... } @Service @Transactional public class Class2 implements IServiceReference<Class3, Long>{ ... } public interface IServiceReference<T, PK extends Serializable> { public T reference(PK id); } with this code I get a org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No matching bean of type for Class2. It seems that @ Transitional annotation is not compatible with the interface because if I remove the @Transitional annotation or the "implements IServiceReference" the problem disapears and the bean is injected (though I need to have both in this class). It also happens if I put the annotation @Transitional in the methods instead of in the Class. I use Spring 3.0.2 if this helps. Is not compatible the interface with the transactional method? May it be a Spring bug? Thanks

• Possible Data Execution Prevention (DEP) problem in Windows 7

  I have a serious problem with my .Net program. It calls a native dll, and then crashes instantly because it can't find a native method. This is behaviour we have seen before, whereby the C# compiler, in its infinite wisdom, sets the flag that the program is DEP compatible, even if it calls a native dll which patently is not. We have the standard workaround for this, where the flag is set to Not DEP Compatible in a post-build step, and this works fine. Everywhere except on my machine. I have Windows 7 32bit, and the program works fine on the Win 7 64bit machines that we have, as well as on Vista and XP; we have not yet been able to check on another Win7 32bit. However, on my machine the DataExecutionPolicy_SupportPolicy is 0, i.e. we have successfully switched DEP off. Does anyone know whether there is some situation in which it can still act? Or any other mechanism which could have the same effect? The dll in question also works fine when called from a native program. We are running out of ideas... any help would be much appreciated!

• [Asp.Net MVC] Encoding a character

  Hi, I am experiencing some weird encoding behaviour in my ASP.NET MVC project. In my Site.Master there is <div class="logo"> <a href="<%=Url.Action("Index", "Win7")%>"><%= Html.Encode("Windows 7 Tutoriál") %></a></div> which translates to the resulting page as <div class="logo"> <a href="/">Windows 7 TutoriA?l</a></div> However, in the Index.aspx there is <h1> Windows 7 Tutoriál</h1> which translates correctly on the same resulting page. I do have <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> as my first line in <head>. Locally, both files are saved in UTF-8 encoding. Any ideas why is this happening and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

• struts2 trim all string obtained from forms

  Hi All, I develop web application using struts2. I want to improve getting string from forms. For this need trim all string and if obtained string is empty then set null to field. But I did not get the desired result. convertToString() method is called when jsp build form, but convertFromString() doesn't invoke. What I do wrong? How can I get the same behaviour using another way? Please, not offer solutions such as: remove the value of such form elements using javascript. create util method which will make it using reflection. Then call it for each form bean. • Eclipse does not refresh project files in package explorer view

  Today I see a strange behaviour of Eclipse 3.5.2 for the first time in 3 months. First, when I run a main function, it runs a previously compiled version. Let's say I press Ctrl+F11 in the window with an open java class and existing main function. Usually it rebuilds the class and runs a new version. Today even if there was a compile mistake, it would run fine. So I guess it does not recompile the class. Next, more strangely, if I intentionally make a mistake in the code and Eclipse underlines those lines in red, still the project Explorer does not mark them as containing errors. They remain of grey color if there were not any errors. First I did not know how to solve this problem. I tried to reopen the project, restart Eclipse and finally reboot the OS. After the tenth attempt, after rebooting, Eclipse said that all project's files are "OUT OF SYNC with the file system". When I pressed "Refresh" - F5 on a project's header name in Project Explorer it finally marked all the files with errors as containing errors and running the main function gave the desired result. An hour of my work passed and this happened again , with the other project. All the same. No marking of files as red, running no matter what old version of class with no compile errors. And since Eclipse does not tell that files are out of sync, simply pressing F5 on a project cannot help. What can you suggest?

• CakePHP belongsTo relationship with a variable 'model' field.

  I've got a problem with a belongsTo relationship in CakePHP. I've got an "Action" model that uses the "actions" table and belongs to one of two other models, either "Transaction" or "Tag". The idea being that whenever a user completes a transaction or adds a tag, the action model is created to keep a log of it. I've got that part working, whenever a Transaction or Tag is saved, the aftersave() method also adds an Action record. The problem comes when I try to do a find('all') on the Action model, the related Transaction or Tag record is not being returned. actions: id model model_id created I thought I could use the "conditions" parameter in the belongsTo relationship like this: <?php class Action extends AppModel { var $name = 'Action'; var $actsAs = array('Containable'); var $belongsTo = array( 'Transaction' => array( 'foreignKey' => 'model_id', 'conditions' => array("Action.model"=>"Transaction") ), 'User' => array( 'fields' => array('User.username') ), 'Recommendation' => array( 'conditions' => array("Action.model"=>"Recommendation"), 'foreignKey' => 'model_id' ) ); } ?> But that doesn't work. Am I missing something here, are my relationships wrong (I suspect so)? After Googling this problem I cam across something called Polymorphic Behaviour but I'm not sure this will help me.

• Trouble parsing quotes with SAX parser (javax.xml.parsers.SAXParser)

  When using a SAX parser, parsing fails when there is a " in the node content. How can I resolve this? Do I need to convert all " characters? In other words, anytime I have a quote in a node: <node>characters in node containing "quotes"</node> That node gets butchered into multiple character arrays when the Handler is parsing it. Is this normal behaviour? Why should quotes cause such a problem? • List.Sort in C#: comparer being called with null object

  I am getting strange behaviour using the built-in C# List.Sort function with a custom comparer. For some reason it sometimes calls the comparer class's Compare method with a null object as one of the parameters. But if I check the list with the debugger there are no null objects in the collection. My comparer class looks like this: public class DelegateToComparer<T> : IComparer<T> { private readonly Func<T,T,int> _comparer; public int Compare(T x, T y) { return _comparer(x, y); } public DelegateToComparer(Func<T, T, int> comparer) { _comparer = comparer; } } This allows a delegate to be passed to the List.Sort method, like this: mylist.Sort(new DelegateToComparer<MyClass>( (x, y) => { return x.SomeProp.CompareTo(y.SomeProp); }); So the above delegate will throw a null reference exception for the x parameter, even though no elements of mylist are null. UPDATE: Yes I am absolutely sure that it is parameter x throwing the null reference exception! UPDATE: Instead of using the framework's List.Sort method, I tried a custom sort method (i.e. new BubbleSort().Sort(mylist)) and the problem went away. As I suspected, the List.Sort method passes null to the comparer for some reason.

• Erlang, SSH and authorized_keys

  Playing with the ssh and public_key application in Erlang, I've discovered a nice feature. I was trying to connect to my running Erlang SSH daemon by using a rsa key, but the authentication was failing and I was prompted for a password. After some debugging and tracing (and a couple of coffees), I've realized that, for some weird reason, a non valid key for my user was there. The authorized_keys file contained two keys. The wrong one was at some point in the file, while the correct one was appended at the end of the file. Now, the Erlang SSH application, when diffing the provided key with the ones contained in the authorized_keys, it was finding the first entry (completely ignoring the second on - the correct one). Then, it was switching to different authentication mechanism (at first it was trying dsa instead of rsa and then it was prompting for a password). The question is: Is this behavior intended or should the SSH server check for multiple entries for the same user in the *authorized_keys* file? Is this a generic SSH behaviour or it's just specific to the Erlang implementation?

• Django: How can I delete a formset entry if one of it's data is blank?

  Hi, I have the following scenario: I have a form with data that does not need translation and a formset with a textfield that should be translated into an undefined amount of languages. Both parts are bound to a model. Each translated text is kept in a model with a foreign key that binds it to the untranslatable data. Something like: class Person(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=60) birth_date = models.DateField() class PersonBio(models.Model): person = models.ForeignKey(Person) locale = models.CharField(max_length=10) bio = models.TextField() Each form in the formset has 2 fields: A textfield (with the translated text) A locale field (with the language into which the text was translated) I've got it working with no problems until I tryed to change it's normal behaviour. I wanted to eliminate the need for the DELETE field by deleting an instance of the translated text if the textfield was left blank. I've googled quite a lot now and read the whole documentation for forms, formsets and model validation but had no luck. To be honest, I couldn't even think of a solution. Where should I implement this? On a Form clean() method? On the view? Somewhere in the Fieldset? Fieldset's save() method, maybe? I'll keep trying to find a way to do that, but any help/tip/clue is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

• c# webbrowser | pushed realtime quotes

  Hi, I am programmer and share trader. Before I have written a day trading application. Until last week it was possible to fetch realtime quotes from http://aktien.boerse.de/aktien_startseite.php?view=2&order=name%20asc&liste=prime&page=0 . Every time the site was surfed the quotes had changed. The HTML contents could then be decoded with regular expressions (regex). Problem They have stopped this service by today. Now the quotes are not realtime when surfing on the page. The only way to get stock quotes now is to use pushed quotes "Push starten"-Button. However I do not know how to basically fetch them in C#. When I create a webbrowser element the only way which I know to get the push quotes out of it is to give the webbrowser element the focus send key ctrl+A and ctrl+C and insert the data some where for decoding. This is not desired since the control is moved away from the user and in case some other control is clicked during the process this may result in unexpected behaviour. Question So is there a proper way to decode push stock quotes in C#? Thanks a lot in advance, --eric

You can see that Company is a child class of ConfigurationItem. I'm trying to use JSON serialization using either the django.core.serializers.serializer or the WadofStuff serializer. • How to make a custom NSFormatter work correctly on Snow Leopard?

  I have a custom NSFormatter attached to several NSTextFields who's only purpose is to uppercase the characters as they are typed into field. The entire code for my formatter is included below. The stringForObjectValue() and getObjectValue() implementations are no-ops and taken pretty much directly out of Apple's documentation. I'm using the isPartialStringValid() method to return an uppercase version of the string. This code works correctly in 10.4 and 10.5. When I run it on 10.6, I get "strange" behaviour where text fields aren't always render the characters that are typed and sometimes are just displaying garbage. I've tried enabling NSZombie detection and running under Instruments but nothing was reported. • How to move the Windows 7 bootloader to the Windows 7 partition?

  I recently installed Windows 7 in a triple boot setup alongside XP and Linux. When I was finished and was in the process of restoring the bootloader for Linux I discovered something strange about what Windows 7 had done. I discovered that Windows 7 had not installed a bootloader to it's own partition, and instead had instead set up a bootloader on the pre-existing XP partition that offers a choice between 7 and XP. This behaviour has been noticed by others. Now my booting is slightly odd. I have GRUB on the MBR which lets me choose between Linux and Windows. When I select Windows I have Grub boot to the XP partition where I get the 2nd choice between 7 and XP. Why doesn't the Windows 7 installer put the Windows 7 bootloader on the Windows 7 partition like all previous MS OSs? This is now going to be a real problem for me, as I now want to wipe the XP partition and install something else there (probably another non-MS OS). How can I move the bootloader for Windows 7 onto the Windows 7 partition, thus making it bootable and allowing me to safely wipe the XP partition?

• Inheritance of list-style-type property in Firefox (bug in Firebug?)

  Let's have a look at some comments on a page generated by Wordpress (it's not a site I maintain, I'm just wondering what's going on here). As these pages might disappear in the near future, I've put some screenshots online. Here's what I saw: Obviously, the list-item markers shouldn't be there. So I decided to look at the source using Firebug. As you can see, Firebug claims that the list-style property (containing none) is inherited from ol.commentlist. But if that's the case, why are the circle and the square visible? When checking the computed style, Firebug shows the list-style-types correctly. What's the correct behaviour? I just did a quick check in Chromium, whose Web Inspector gave a better view of reality (the list item markers were also displayed in this browser): According to WebKit, list-style of ol.commentlist isn't inherited, only the default value of list-style-type from the rendering engine. So, we may conclude that the output of both browsers is correct and that Firefox (Firebug) shows an incorrect representation of inherited styles. What does the CSS specification say? Inheritance will transfer the list-style values from OL and UL elements to LI elements. This is the recommended way to specify list style information. Not much about the inheritance of ol properties to uls. Is Firebug wrong in this respect? BTW, I managed to let the markers disappear by just changing line 312 of style.css to ol.commentlist, li.commentlist, ul.children { When also explicitly defining the list-style of ul.children to none, the markers are not painted. You can have a look at screenshots of Firebug and WebKit's Web Inspector in this case, if you like.

• Binding data to the custom DataGridView

  All, I have a customized DataGridView where I have implemented extra functionality and bounded datasource in the same custom DataGridView (Using C# and .NET). Now, I could able to use it properly by placing it on a panel control. I have added label as button on panel control to display data from datasource on to datagrid and create a binding source. Another Label which act as a button is used to update data from grid to databse. Issue: I pressed show label to display data in a dsatagridview. Modified the grid cell value and immediately pressed update label which is on same panel control. I observed that, the cursor is still in the grid cell when I press Save button. While saving, the cell value is null even though I have entered something in the presentation layer. My expected behaviour is to get the modified value while saving. Special Case: After typing something in the grid cell, if I click on somewhere else like the row below where I entered something, before I click on Save button, it is working fine. (Here, mainly I tried to remove the focus from the currently modified cell) Is there any way to bind sources before I click on save button? Please suggest me. Please feel free to ask me if you need any information. • DQL delete from multiple tables (doctrine)

  Need to perform DQL delete from multple related tables. In SQL it is something like this: DELETE r1,r2 FROM ComRealty_objects r1, com_realty_objects_phones r2 WHERE r1.id IN (10,20) AND r2.id_object IN (10,20) I need to perform this statement using DQL, but I'm stuck on this :( <?php $dql = Doctrine_Query::create() ->delete('phones, comrealtyobjects') ->from('ComRealtyObjects comrealtyobjects') ->from('ComRealtyObjectsPhones phones') ->whereIn("comrealtyobjects.id", $ids) ->whereIn("phones.id_object", $ids); echo($dql->getSqlQuery()); ?> But DQL parser gives me this result: DELETE FROM `com_realty_objects_phones`, `ComRealty_objects` WHERE (`id` IN (?) If there is a way to override dql parser behaviour? Or maybe some other way to delete records from multiple tables using doctrine. Note: If you are using doctrine behaviours(Doctrine_Record_Generator) you need first to initialize those tables using Doctrine_Core::initializeModels() to perform DQL operations on them.

  Hi, I'm currently building a live web application based upon the PubSubHubBub protocol. However, I encountered several issues. First, I'm in search of a hub application that I can run on my server. There are several applications, but most of them are not mature yet, or they don't support the 0.3 spec. The official google hub runs on the Google App Engine and can even be executed locally. Unfortunately, "Tasks will not run automatically. Push the 'Run' button to execute each task." This behaviour is useful for debugging and understanding the workflow, but in some live tests, it would be nice not to invoke all tasks manually. Is there a way to tweak the local app engine due automatically run tasks? Next, I have a question concerning the spec itself. The Google reference implementation provides the initial publish method bound to the outpoint uri + /publish. But this is not reflected in the specs. So are there any mature hubs that can be run locally for debugging? Or are there ways to configure the offical google app engine hub to run locally and to execute tasks directly? Thanks in advance

• MFC Combo-Box Control is not showing the full list of items when I click the drop-down menu...

But, if i press down-arrow key on keyboard, it cycles thru the options in the order I've inserted, but never does it show more than 1 option in the box. So, In case an user wants to select option3, he has to cycle through options 1 and 2 !! Though once I select any option using the keyboard, the appropriate event handlers are fired, I'm miffed by this behaviour , as is understandable. I'm listing the properties of the combo-box control as well - only the properties that are true(rest are set to false): Type - Dropdown Vertical Scrollbar Visible Tabstop This has bugged me for weeks now. Can anyone pls enlighten me ?

• How to correctly relay TCP traffic between sockets?

  I'm trying to write some Python code that will establish an invisible relay between two TCP sockets. My current technique is to set up two threads, each one reading and subsequently writing 1kb of data at a time in a particular direction (i.e. 1 thread for A to B, 1 thread for B to A). This works for some applications and protocols, but it isn't foolproof - sometimes particular applications will behave differently when running through this Python-based relay. Some even crash. I think that this is because when I finish performing a read on socket A, the program running there considers its data to have already arrived at B, when in fact I - the devious man in the middle - have yet to send it to B. In a situation where B isn't ready to receive the data (whereby send() blocks for a while), we are now in a state where A believes it has successfully sent data to B, yet I am still holding the data, waiting for the send() call to execute. I think this is the cause of the difference in behaviour that I've found in some applications, while using my current relaying code. Have I missed something, or does that sound correct? If so, my real question is: is there a way around this problem? Is it possible to only read from socket A when we know that B is ready to receive data? Or is there another technique that I can use to establish a truly 'invisible' two-way relay between [already open & established] TCP sockets?
