  • Track Pedestrians

    I am using OpenCV sample code “peopledetect.cpp” to detect and track pedestrians. The code uses HoG for feature extraction and SVM for classification. Please find the reference paper used here. The camera is mounted on the wall at a height of 10 feet and 45 degree down. There is no restriction on the pedestrian movement within the frame. I want to track the detected pedestrians’ movement within the frame. The issue I am facing is pedestrians are detected only in the middle region of the frame as most of the features are not visible as soon as the pedestrian enters the frame region. I want to track each person’s movement in the entire frame region. How to do it? Is tracking required? Can anyone give any reference to blogs/codes?

  • Cone-Line Segment Intersection 2D

    Hi everyone, I would like to know is there any way to determine if a cone is intersecting with a (finite)line segment. The cone actually a circle located at P(x,y) with theta degree field of view and radius r. The simple visualization can be found here (sorry i can't post the picture here) I'm trying to do it in C# but I don't have any idea how to that, so for now this is what I'm doing : Check if the line segment is intersecting with the circle If the line segment is intersecting with the circle then I check every single point in the line segment using a function I found here. But I don't think this is the best way to do it. Does anyone have an idea? For additional info, I need this function to make some kind of simple vision simulator. Thanks in advance :)

  • Approximate photo of a simple drawing using lines

    As an input I have a photo of a simple symbol, e.g.: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nrmsvfd0le0bkke/symbol.jpg I would like to detect the straight lines in it, like points of start and ends of the lines. In this case, assuming the top left of the symbol is (0,0), the lines would be defined like this: start end (coordinates of beginning and end of a line) 1. (0,0); (0,10) (vertical line) 2. (0,10); (15, 15) 3. (15,15); (0, 20) 4. (0,20); (0,30) How can I do it (pereferably using OpenCV)? I though about Hough lines, but they seem to be good for perfect thin straight lines, which is not the case in a drawing. I'll probably work on binarized image, too.

    I have a View where I can upload an image and the image is also displayed in there like this: //ResourceStorage is a virtual directory that indicates to the pictures storage location <img src='<%=Url.Content("~/ResourceStorage/Profile/pic.jpg") %>' alt='pic' /> after I upload the picture, on the hard drive I get the new "pic.jpg" but in the browser I still have the old one (I tried clearing the cache, doesn't help)

  • Pygame - Different sided collision question!

    Hi there everyone! I'm making a Pygame of, basically, "Breakout". I'm using collisions, and want a simple way to have different bounce effects of the different sides of one rectangle. What I currently have for the ball-to-bat collision is this: "dot" = ball; "bat" = bat; so you all understand. if dot.rect.colliderect(bat.rect):<br> dot.dy *= -1 I'd like something that interacts with each side, so could reverse the self.dx value of the ball when it hits the side of the bat, and only reversing the self.dy value when it strikes the top.   • Is there a good in-browser code editor?

    We've all seen in-browser rich text editors, which allow you to edit colored/styled text in a WYSIWYG manner. But what about code editors, which automatically highlight code based on language rules as you type? Think Eclipse in a textarea (but without the refactoring support). Do such things exist? I imagine scaling would be a problem - larger files would be difficult to edit efficiently.

The only tool that I know of that can do this is MOSS, but, from what I've heard, it's pretty poor for anything else than C. Unfortunately, I can't test it yet because I don't have submissions :).

    Hi, I've been searching for ways to run a GTK+ application on a browser. WebKit and its associated GTK+ port seem to do the opposite - making applications more Web-friendly, but the opposite would also be nice. There seems to have been some activity to realize that for XCode, with Cappuccino and Atlas, that can translate NIB files into CIB files. I've fiddled with it for a little bit and realized that there is always a pending GET request "listening" if you will to some sort of update from the server.   • Disable browser zoom on certain elements in Firefox

    Is it possible to disable the in-browser, full-page zoom in Firefox (activated by Ctrl +) for a webpage? How about for certain elements in a webpage? I just notice that sometimes elements look really weird when they are zoomed, and it might be nice to just disable the zooming completely for those elements. Note: I know there a few ways to find the zoom level, but this is really wanting to actively work around it (which might not be a good idea anyway).
