• jQuery Sparklines: $.getJSON data can't be read

  I'm trying to generate a pie graph with Sparklines but I'm running into some trouble. I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I feel it is a silly mistake. When I alert the variable it outputs "[2, 2, 61]". Now the jQuery code does work when I replace the snippet: var values = data.views; with var values = [2, 2, 61]; What am I doing wrong?

• SQL Server 2008 Dead lock issue

  I got into a deadlock issue where I am struggling find the root-cause...The Deadlock graph suggests that an UPDATE statement became the victim over a SELECT statement... What puzzles me is that the UPDATE statement is trying to acquire an index on some other table that is never referred in update statement... This is how my UPDATE statement looks like... UPDATE Table set col1 = @P1 where col2 = @P2 This statement acquired a X lock on the col2 index, but also tries to acquire an index on a column defined in some other table that is no way related to the UPDATE statement... And the SELECT statement that won the deadlock situation had nothing to do with the table or index in the update statement but tried to acquire an index on the table in UPDATE statement. eventually causing the DEADLOCK.

• How to create platform independent 3D video on 3D TV via HDMI 1.4?

  I am writing a real-time, interactive 3D visualization program and at each point in the program, I can compute 2 images (bitmaps) that are meant to look 3D together by means of stereoscopy. How do I get my program to display the image pairs such that they look 3D on a 3D TV? Is there a platform independent way of accomplishing it? (By platform I mean independent of GPU brand, operating system, 3D TV vendor, etc.) If not, which is preferable-- to lock in by GPU, OS, or 3D TV? I suppose I need to be using an HDMI 1.4 cable with the 3D TV? HDMI 1.4 can encode stereoscopy via side-by-side method. But how do I send such an encoded signal to the monitor? What kind of libraries do I use for this sort of thing? Windows DirectShow? If DirectShow is correct, is there a cross platform equivalent available? If anyone asks, yes I have seen this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2811350/generating-3d-tv-stereoscopic-output-programmatically. However, correct me if I am wrong, it does not appear to be what I'm looking for. I do not have an OpenGL or Direct3D program that generates polygons, for which a Nvidia card can do ad-hoc impromptu stereoscopy simply by rendering the scene from 2 slightly offset points of view and then displaying those 2 images on the monitor-- my program already has those image pairs and needs to display them (and they are not the result of rendering polygons). Btw, I have never done any major multimedia programming before and know very little about HDMI, Direct Show, 3D TVs, etc so pardon me if any parts of this question did not make any sense at all.

• R: ca plotting text attributes

  Does anyone know of a way to control the font size/color/weight of the row and column names when plotting a correspondence plot with the ca package? The following code will produce a very nice looking chart, though if there were more attributes (very heavy, super heavy, something more than super heavy) or more classes of workers (peons, underlings, etc) then the graph will get a little cluttered and hard to tell what was what.   My application supports twitter and needs to open browser for OAuth. When the user clicks the Share on Twitter button, the main activity will create another subactivity (TwitterActivity) to handle twitter authentication issues. Here is a flow graph showing how activities are invoked currently. Main is short for MainActivity and Twit for TwitterActivity. startActivity() OAuth intent OAuth callback finish() Main ---------------> Twit ------------> Browser --------------> Twit --------> Browser As you may notice, after the TwitterActivity calls finish() to stop, it will now return back to MainActivity, but Browser instead. How can I make it return back to MainActivity? Many thanks

• Dynamically created image doesn't show when <img>'s src is refreshed to point to it

  Hello, I have a javascript function generateGraph() { ... jQuery.get('chart.php?month='+month+'&year='+year); document.getElementById('graph').src = 'charts/'+month+'_'+year+'.png'; ... } which is called onChange. It basically creates, if not exists, or refreshes if already exists, a PNG image (using the first line above) and supposedly displays the generated image (using the second line above). The first line works, but the second one doesn't. Meaning, the image is generated, but the second line can't display the image, unless the page is reloaded, or if the image being referred to already existed before the page was loaded (meaning the 1st line just "refreshed" the image) Any ideas as to why this is and how to fix it?   Here is my ideal solution: a free tool that reads a .csporj or .sln and generates a pretty picture that shows all the objects and how they are related. By relationships, I don't mean inheritance but rather dependency. For example, if we have a Car object and Car has a member variable Wheel, I would like that Car depends on Wheel to be visualized in the graph. I know visual studio can do inheritance graphs, but that is only half of what I am looking for. Is what I am looking for possible? Are there any tools that do something similar? • I need to order a list that is dependant on another list. how to change both lists?

  I have a Matlab program that generates a list x = 6.1692 8.1863 5.8092 8.2754 6.0891 the program also outputs another list aspl = 680 637 669 599 693. The two lists are on equal length and the first element in list x is related to the first element in list aspl. I need to graph the two lists but want list aspl to be in order from smallest to largest. How would I go about doing this? If I need to move the first element in aspl to position 4 in the list, then the first element of list x also needs to be moved to position 4 in list x. The numbers above are not important they are just examples, the actual program generates hundereds of numbers. for example x = 6.1692 8.1863 5.8092 8.2754 initially aspl = 680 637 669 599 693 after changing aspl to ascending order this is how x should look. x = 5.8092 8.1863 5.8092 6.1692 8.2754 aspl = 599 637 669 680 693

There are a few towns in Canada, and in other countries, that have the same names. Therefore I want to know if there is more than one town with the same name region name will be appended to the town name. Region names are found in the globe_region table. When the user approves my App, I save his UID in the DB for future reference. At some later time, I want to make it possible for other users find partners for a game - so I need a way to pick randomly some user from my DB and check if he's online. Then, send him a message and propose to play with the current player. So 2 questions: How can I check if some user is online, using Javascript SDK? It seems that in the new Graph API I can't get the users' online status. How can I then send him a message and propose to play the game?   Is there a way to move a sequential set of commits from one (local) branch to another? I have searched quite a bit and still haven't found a clear answer for what I want to do. For example, say I have this: master A---B---C \ feature-1 M---N---O---P---R---Q And I have decided that the last 3 commits would be better off like this: master A---B---C \ feature-1 M---N---O \ f1-crazy-idea P---R---Q I know I can do this, and it does work: $ git log --graph --pretty=oneline (copying down sha-1 ID's of P, R, Q) $ git checkout feature-1 $ git reset --hard HEAD^^^ $ git checkout -b f1-crazy-idea $ git cherry-pick <P sha1> $ git cherry-pick <R sha1> $ git cherry-pick <Q sha1> I was hoping that instead there would be a more concise way to do this, possibly with git rebase, although I haven't had much luck. • Can I create a collection in Scala that uses different equals/hashCode/compare implementations?

  I'm looking for as simple way to create an identity set. I just want to be able to keep track of whether or not I've "seen" a particular object while traversing a graph. I can't use a regular Set because Set uses "==" (the equals method in Scala) to compare elements. What I want is a Set that uses "eq." Is there any way to create a Set in Scala that uses some application-specified method for testing equality rather than calling equals on the set elements? I looked for some kind of "wrapEquals" method that I could override but did not find it. I know that I could use Java's IdentityHashMap, but I'm looking for something more general-purpose. Another idea I had was to just wrap each set element in another object that implements equals in terms of eq, but it's wasteful to generate tons of new objects just to get a new equals implementation.   I'm trying to save (insert) parent object with a collection of child objects, all objects are new. I prefer to manually specify what to save\update and when so I do not use any cascade saves in mappings and flush sessions by myself. So basically I save this object graph like: session.Save(Parent) foreach (var child in Parent.Childs) { session.Save(child); } session.Flush() I expect this code to insert Parent row, then each child row, however NHibernate executes this SQL: INSERT INTO PARENT.... INSERT INTO CHILD .... UPDATE CHILD SET ParentId=@1 WHERE Id=@2 This update statement is absolutely unnecessary, ParentId was already set correctly in INSERT. How do I get rid of it? Performance is very important for me.

• Transform only one axis to log10 scale with ggplot2

  I have the following problem: I would like to visualize a discrete and a continuous variable on a boxplot in which the latter has a few extreme high values. This makes the boxplot meaningless (the points and even the "body" of the chart is too small), that is why I would like to show this on a log10 scale. I am aware that I could leave out the extreme values from the visualization, but I am not intended to. Let's see a simple example with diamonds data: m <- ggplot(diamonds, aes(y = price, x = color)) The problem is not serious here, but I hope you could imagine why I would like to see the values at a log10 scale. Let's try it: m + geom_boxplot() + coord_trans(y = "log10") As you can see the y axis is log10 scaled and looks fine but there is a problem with the x axis, which makes the plot very strange. The problem do not occur with scale_log, but this is not an option for me, as I cannot use a custom formatter this way. E.g.: m + geom_boxplot() + scale_y_log10() My question: does anyone know a solution to plot the boxplot with log10 scale on y axis which labels could be freely formatted with a formatter function like in this thread? Editing the question to help answerers based on answers and comments: What I am really after: one log10 transformed axis (y) with not scientific labels. I would like to label it like dollar (formatter=dollar) or any custom format.   Hi, Would QuickGraph be able to help me out with my requirements below? (a) want to model a graph of nodes and directional relationships between nodes - for example to model web pages/files linked under a URL, or modeling IT infrastructure and dependencies between hardware/software. The library would include methods such as * Node.GetDirectParents() //i.e. there could be more than one direct parent for a node * Node.GetRootParents() //i.e. traverse the tree to the top root parent(s) for the given node * Node.GetDirectChildren() * Node.GetAllChildren() (b) have to persist the data to a database - so it should support SQL Server and ideally SQLite as well. If it does support these requirement then I'd love to hear: any pointers to any parts of QuickGraph to dig into? what is the best concept re it's usage in terms of how to use database persistence - is it a simpler design to assume every search/method works directly on the database, or does QuickGraph support smarts to be able to work in memory and the "save" to database all changes at an appropriate point in time (e.g. like ADO.net does with DataTable etc) Thanks in advance

  My jQuery code (using ajax) request's data from a php script (pgiproxy.php) using the following function: function grabPage($pageURL) { $homepage = file_get_contents($pageURL); echo $homepage; } I then extract the html code i need from the returned data using jQuery and insert it into a div called #BFX, as follows: $("#btnNewLoadMethod1").click(function(){ $('#temp1').load('pgiproxy.php', { data : $("#formdata").serialize(), mode : "graph"} , function() { $('#temp').html( $('#temp1').find('center').html() ); $('#BFX').html( $('#temp').html() ); }); }); This works fine. I get the html data (which is a gif image) i need displayed on screen in the correct div. The problem is i can see the html data loading into the div (dependant on network speed), but what I want is to insert the extracted html code into #BFX ONLY when the ajax request has fully completed.

• what is a performance way to 'tree-walking' through my Entity Framework data

  Hi, I have a Entity Framework design with a few tables that define a "graph". So there can be a large chain of relationships between objects in the few tables via concept of parent/child relationships. What is a performance way to 'tree-walking' through my Entity Framework data? That is I assume I wouldn't want to load the full set of all NODES and RELATIONSHIPS from the database for the purpose of walking the tree, where the end result may only be identifying leaf nodes? Or would this be OK with the way lazy loading may work at the column/parameter level? Else how could I load just the skeleton of the objects and then when needing to refer to any attributes have them lazy load then?

• Highcharts removing elements

  I'm working on a new website using highchart. But i have a little issue with how it looks / is setup. I'm wondering if its possible to remove the "Tokyo, New York, Berlin, London" on the right side of the image? I would like to add a discription my self, and remove the exsisting one. Any Suggestions on how i can remove them? (But i want to keep the lines in the graph) is there any way i can modify or hide this? (it also take up unnecessary space on the website)
