    Hi - I need to write some junit tests on java code that calls Math.random(). I know that I can set the seed if I was instantiating my own Random object to produce repeatable results. Is there a way to do this also for Math.random() ?

  • Want to open Shadowbox gallery directly through Wordpress Navigation Menu

    I want to be able to open my shadowbox gallery in wordpress by directly clicking the portfolio link in the navbar. Right now it either opens the portfolio page I made with the gallery in it or opens images separately (without shadowbox), this was because I tried adding html to the Nav Label in the wordpress dashboard.   • Problems with viewing site in Internet Exploder

    I built a site and I'm just about finished. It displays properly in all the browsers I have (Safari, Chrome, and Firefox) but my client is not computer savvy at all and still uses Internet Explorer, so that's all he's using to view the site. I don't have IE to test the site so I've been using BrowserStack.com and I see in IE that the site is broken. The navigation bar has a white background and is pushed down a line, and the logo isn't appearing. Could anybody please assist me with figuring out why the site isn't displaying properly in IE, and how to fix it? Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Site: WebuildCAhomes dot com

  • preg_match_all confusing failing

    $string = (string) file_get_contents($_FILES['file']['tmp_name']); echo $string; preg_match_all("/[\._a-zA-Z0-9-]+@[\._a-zA-Z0-9-]+/i", $string, $matches); print_r($matches); I am parsing text/csv files and grabbing email addresses from uploaded files. When parsing a Google Contact file I exported it weirdly fails. But when I simply copy the string that is echo'd and paste that instead of the file_get_contents result, it parses and works. Any idea why it is refusing to take the file_get_contents string, but if I paste in the raw data myself, it works?

    What Python libraries do folks use for querying Amazon product data? (Amazon Associates Web Service - used to be called E-Commerce API, or something along those lines). Based on my research, PyAWS (http://pyaws.sourceforge.net/) seems okay, but still pretty raw (and hasn't been updated in a while). Wondering if there's an obvious canonical library that I'm just missing.

  • Weird behaviour with Scanner#nextFloat

    Running the following in Eclipse initially caused Scanner to not recognize carriage returns in the console effectively blocking further input: price = sc.nextFloat(); Adding this line before the code causes Scanner to accept 0,23 (french notation) as a float: Locale.setDefault(Locale.US); This is most probably due to regional settings in Windows XP Pro. When the code is run again 0,23 is still accepted and entering 0.23 causes it to throw a java.util.InputMismatchException. Any explanation as to why this is happening? Also is there a workaround or should I just use Float#parseFloat?   • python objects confusion

    wow i thought i knew python untill tonight.. what is the correct way to do something like this.. heres my code a = ["one", "two", "three"] b = a #here i want a complete copy that when b is changed, has absolutely no effect on a b.append["four"] print a #a now has "four" in it.. so basically i want to know, instead of the b = a step, how would i correctly make a copy of a list or dictionary so that when b is changed a does not change along with it.. thanks guys

  • Trying to get around this Webservice call from Android using AsycTask

    I am a fairly beginner in Android Development. I am developing an application that extensively relays on Webservice calls. First screen takes username and password and validates the user by calling the Webservice. If U/P is valid, then I need to fire up the 2nd activity. In that 2nd activity, I need to do 3 calls. But I haven't gotten to the 2nd part yet. In fact, I haven't completed the full coding yet. But I wanted to test if the app is working as far as I've come through. When calling webserivce, I am showing alert dialog. But the app is crashing somewhere. The LoginActivity shows up. When I enter U/P and press Login Button, it crashes.   • Optional Navigation Controller

    I have an application containing a variety of view controllers linked together in different ways (Welcome Browse Preview OR Browse Preview OR Settings Splash). The first view controller is presented modally using a navigation controller from a main controller, then the next set of view controllers are added using pop and push. This works correctly, but I need to be able to define my 'UINavigationBar' and 'UIToolbar' within interface builder, so they still work as expected if they are presented without using a navigation controller.   • django/apache permissions problem

    I'm running a django project on Centos 5.4 and serving it with httpd/mod_wsgi. I can't figure out the correct permissions for /home/website/django_project so that I don't get a 403 error. In my httpd.conf the user and group to run httpd as is apache. The group django is set up with website and apache as members. The owner of /home/website and all subdirs is website:django, and the permissions are rwxrwx---. Right now the project works fine with the dev server, but if I try to view it through apache, I get a 403 error. chmod -R o+rx /home/website/django_project fixes the problem, but this obviously isn't a good solution.   • Building ffmpeg with an executable output

    I generally don't like to ask such "you figure it out for me" questions, but I suspect this one will be really simple for a C++ guru. I want to build ffmpeg for Android, and I'd like it to output an executable rather than a set of libraries. We've been using the guardian project's build: https://github.com/guardianproject/android-ffmpeg It does produce what we want, but I've found tweaking it for different architectures to be, at best, unpleasant. I've gotten this version to build: https://github.com/appunite/AndroidFFmpeg It does a nice job of slicing and dicing different architectures, but produces a jni version. There is a long story as to why I want the exe, but I'll skip it for now. Is there a flag that needs to be flipped? Some path or other setting? I am at this point fully baffled. Thanks in advance.

  • cURL Cookies and Facebook

    I have a script that pulls information from a facebook page. Information that isn't available using opengraph but it's something my client has requested for their pages. Anyway, is there any way to use the cookies from the browser in the cURL script? At the moment when you run the script it asks you to log in. But I am already logged into Facebook at the moment and the script is still asking me to log in. Is there any way to use the cookies from the browser? Thanks

  • Is there a "method_missing" for rake tasks?

    If my Rakefile does not find a task with a particular name, I'd like rake to instead create a new task by that name according to certain rules, if a file with the missing task name exists. But if it doesn't, I want to fall back to the default ("Don't know how to build task 'foo'!"). In short, is there a method_missing for Rake?
