    My C# code looks like this: myNum = dt.Columns[0]; myNum is an integer and dt is a datatable. The value in column 0 of dt is a string ("12"), but I'd like to convert it to an integer. How can I do this? I've tried: myNum = int.Parse(dt.Columns[0]); ...but that doesn't work. Any ideas?

    Hi I am having issues making my footer stick to the bottom of the page in all browsers. I have the following document structure: <html> <head> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="header"> <ul> <li>home</li> </ul> </div> <div class="expander"></div> </div> <div id="footer" class="expander"> </div> </body> </html> Relevant CSS is: body { margin: 0; height: 100%; } #wrapper { min-height: 100%; height: auto !important; height: 100%; margin: 0 auto -116px; } .expander { height: 116px; } #footer { width: 100%; } #header ul { list-style: none outside none; clear: both; margin: 0; } #header li { margin: 0; margin-right: 20px; padding: 0; display: inline-block; height: 85px; padding-top: 20px; margin-bottom: -20px; } When used without any doc type, the page renders as I intend it to in Chrome and Firefox. In IE8, however, the list item tabs are on separate lines When I add an XHTML doctype, the page renders correctly in IE8 except the footer is not drawn at the bottom of the page in IE8, Chrome or Firefox, i.e. the footer sits directly below the menu bar.   • Mod_rewrite not working properly

    I have this in my .htaccess file... RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^/invite$ /invite.html It's meant to let a user access this url: http://mysite.com/invite and display the invite.html page. I don't want to redirect the user, but just show them the invite.html page from a better looking URL. When I browse to http://mysite.com/invite though, I get a 404 not found error. Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I've tried looking at tutorials for using mod_rewrite but I seem to be doing what they're telling me too... Thanks!

    I have a menu that is toggled when a user selects a link. The menu has an animation attached, and I want to prevent toggling while the animation is running. The following snippet works, but flips the state of toggle if the link is clicked quickly twice (i.e. if the user clicks the link quickly twice, the next click will trigger the same action): <a href="" id="button">Menu</a> <div id="menu">...</a> <script> $("#button").toggle( function (e) { if $("#menu").is(":animated")) return false; $menu.show("slow"); }, function (e) { if ("#menu").is(":animated")) return false; $menu.hide("slow"); } ); </script> How can I prevent switching states within toggle? For example, if I know the exact page I want info from, for the sake of simplicity a Best Buy item page, how would I get the appropriate info I need off of that page? Like the title, price, description? What would this process even be called? I have no idea were to even began researching this :'(

Something like: foreach (var t in tests) { TestFx.Run(t.Name, t.TestDelegate); } But with the test reporting as you would expect... I could do something like this with RowTests et al, but that seems hokey.

    We have an HTML 5.0 web application that we ported to Android. It's our intention to run this in a Native Wrapper. Our application uses the ApplicationCache to run offline. This works find when running under the browser. While being hosted in a WebView within a native application, after the last file is downloaded and stored in the ApplicationCache from the manifest the application is terminated and does a core dump. This appears to be a documented bug. http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=7939 Has anyone doing anything similar found a work around for this issue?

  • What kind of string is this? What can I do in php to read it?

    This is a string (see below, after the dashed line) in a database.inf file for a free program I downloaded that lists some websites. The file is plain text as you can see , but there is a string after it that looks base64 encoded (due to the end chars of ==). But b64_decoding it gives giberish. I wanted to decode it so I could add to the list of sites it had (the program lists a bunch of sites and data about them which I can read in the GUI) and to do that I need to decode this, add to it, and re-encode it. I think the program uses .net since I think the .net library was required on install, but I know nothing of the original source language. I am using php to figure out if there is a simple way to read this. I have tried using unpack, binhex, base_convert, etc as I suspect the file is binary at some level, but I am lost. Nothing illegal, just wanting to know what it is and if I can add a few things to it to make it more useful for me. here is the file - any ideas how to decode and recode this for playing with?     Hi, Until now I've been used to using DAOs to retrieve information from databases. Other sources of data are possible though and I'm wondering if and how the pattern could be applied in general. For example, I'm now working on an application that fetches XML on the web. The XML file could be considered as a data source and the actual fetching is similar in principle to a database request. I'm not quite sure how the DAO could be structured though. Any views on the subject are welcome.

  • Rails: Link changes one attribute and then goes back

    Rails newbie here. I have a list of items which can have a status represented by an integer (right now its just 1=active 0=inactive). What I want is next to each item a link to change the status of that item. So it might look like this: A nice item - Enable Another pretty item - Disable I can't think of how to make the link work. I just want a user to click the link and then the page refreshes and the item get updated. This doesn't work: <%= link_to "Enable", :controller => "items", :action => "update", :status => 1 %>

  • Forcing an app to run single core only?

    I have this strange issue with some third party DLL's. The third party provider references some open source DLL's that have a memory exception whenever I try to use a certain method. This issue does not appear when the app is run on a single core machine, but obviously we cannot assume a user will have that. Is there a way to force an app, or even better yet a referenced DLL to run on a single core? Any other way to possibly fix this? Getting the third party to rebuild the OS dll's is apparently out of the question (its a bit of a sore spot with me currently :) ) so I have to handle it myself or just forget about providing this functionality.

    I am trying to do the following in Delphi 2010: TDataConverter = class abstract public function Convert<T>(const AData: T): string; virtual; abstract; end; However, I keep getting the following compiler error: E2533 Virtual, dynamic and message methods cannot have type parameters I don't quite understand the reason why I can't do this. I can do this in C# e.g. public abstract class DataConverter { public abstract string Convert<T>(T data); } Anyone know the reasoning behind this?

    wow i thought i knew python untill tonight.. what is the correct way to do something like this.. heres my code a = ["one", "two", "three"] b = a #here i want a complete copy that when b is changed, has absolutely no effect on a b.append["four"] print a #a now has "four" in it.. so basically i want to know, instead of the b = a step, how would i correctly make a copy of a list or dictionary so that when b is changed a does not change along with it.. thanks guys
