  • just x86 assembly question~~!!

    this is my assembly program which is just a function to swap *x *y. so first argument from main is address of x which is in 8(%ebp) and second one is address of y is in 12(%ebp). the program does swap x and y. I need 7 lines for doing this. can you make it 6 lines and there is a condition you can use only %eax,%ecx, and %edx 3 registers. I think about it so much.. but.. I can't make it 6 lines...there must be a way.. isn't it? this might be not a big deal.. but if there is a way to get it in 6lines.     I have an array like so: array( 'a'=>array( 'a'=>3, 'f'=>5, 'sdf'=>0), 't'=>array( 'a'=>1, 'f'=>2, 'sdf'=>5), 'pps'=>array( 'a'=>1, 'f'=>2, 'sdf'=>3) ); Notice how the sub-arrays are the same for each top-level array. If I wanted to, what's the easiest way to combine the sub-arrays so that I'm left with a one-dimensional array like: array( 'a'=>5, 'f'=>9, 'sdf'=>8 );

  • The best way to structure this database?

    At the moment I'm doing this: gems(id, name, colour, level, effects, source) id is the primary key and is not auto-increment. A typical row of data would look like this: id => 40153 name => Veiled Ametrine colour => Orange level => 80 effects => +12 sp, +10 hit source => Ametrine (Some of you gamers might see what I'm doing here :) ) But I realise this could be sorted a lot better. I have studied database relationships and secondary keys in my A-Level computing class but never got as far as to set one up properly. I just need help with how this database should be organised, like what tables should have what data with what secondary and foreign keys? I was thinking maybe 3 tables: gem, effects, source. Which then have relationships to each other? Can anyone shed some light on this? Is a complex way like I'm proposing really the way to go or should I just carry on with what I'm doing? Cheers.

    I would like to implement pagination in my Servlet/EJB/JPA-Hibernate project, but I can't figure out how only one page from the query and know the number of pages I must display I use setFirstResult(int first) ; setMaxResults(int max) ; and that's working alright, but how can I know how many pages I will have in total? (Hibernate is my JPA provider, but I would prefer using only JPA if possible) UPDATE: COUNT() seems to be the better/easiest solution; but what can be the cost of SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ... in comparison with executeQuery("SELECT * FROM ...).getListResult().size() ?

  • Oracle Reports SELECT INTO Not Selecting

    I'm working on a Report in Oracle Reports Builder, and having issues with my AFTERPFORM trigger. When viewing the report, it seems like the year is being processed properly, while the period and subperiod are using their initial values. I'm confused because they are the exact same select statement, but are not working as intended.   • SharePoint replicating document between site according to external database on a regular basis

    I want to copy a file from Site A to Site B according to external DB status on a timer job. e.g I have documents in Site A. I want to move those documents to Site B when the document' status in external MSSQL DB is "approved". I want to do it in a timer job. Which way will be great to do so ? I don't know how to use timer job and BDC job together. Please advice me. Thanks in advance. BTW, I don't know much about SharePoint.

    Question about how AppFabric's cache feature can be used. I apologize for asking a question that I should be able to answer from the documentation, but I have read and read and searched and cannot answer this question, which leads me to believe that I have a fundamentally flawed understanding of what AppFabric's caching capabilities are intended for. I work for a geographically disperse company. We have a particular application that was originally written as a client/server application. It’s so massive and business critical that we want to baby step converting it to a better architected solution. One of the ideas we had was to convert the app to read its data using WCF calls to a co-located web server that would cache communication with the database in the United States. The nature of the application is such that everyone will tend to be viewing the same 2000 records or so with only occasional updates and those updates will be made by a limited set of users. I was hoping that AppFabric’s cache mechanism would allow me to set up one global cache and when a user in Asia, for example, requested data that was not in the cache or was stale that the web server would read from the database in the USA, provide the data to the user, then update the cache which would propagate that data to the other web servers so that they would know not to go back to the database themselves. Can AppFabric work this way or should I just have the servers retrieve their own data from the database?

    Hey. So this is probably a very noob problem but I'm not good enough to fix it. Basically... I have a gallery that I am loading into the page via AJAX. It looks simply like this: <div id="gallery"> <a href="Image1.jpg"><img src="Image1Thumb.jpg" /></a> <a href="Image2.jpg" title=""><img src="Image2Thumb.jpg" /></a> </div> But because it's being loaded in as AJAX content, JQuery/Lightbox is not working and I've no idea how can I get the script to run/recognise this newly loaded content.   • Voices disappear when using headphones. [closed]

    How do I declare a variable in C? P.S. I have a pair of SteelSeries Siberia headphones. I've noticed that when watching some films the voices are completely silent, yet when I unplug the headset and listen through my speakers they are there and sound normal. I have no other software that could be interfering with it and it happens regardless of the software I use for playback (I've tried VLC, WMP and Quicktime). It is so strange, and it almost sounds deliberate - the rest of the audio is untouched but voices disappear. The films only have single audio tracks, and it doesn't happen with every film. Can anyone give me any hints as to what could possibly cause this? I am stumped!

I have checked if the file exists and if it's in the same directory and whatever and it is, so I'm pretty much clueless atm. Does anyone know what could be wrong here? Cheers.

    I am trying to enable a new theme on a site running Drupal 6.16. I enable it fine, it has its own namespace in the theme and theme registry. However when you go to the Blocks section, changing a block here will affect that blocks placement in all the other themes, and vice versa. Is this normal behavior? Where should I begin looking to solve this issue?

  • How to do simultaneous builds in two Git branches?

    I've looked at git-new-workdir, but I don't want the history to be shared because the branches have a release-main relationship. That is, changes in the release branch I want to propagate to the main line, but changes in the main line I don't want in the release line. A common pattern for me is to fix a bug in the release line, integrate it to the main line, then start builds in both branches at the same time. Is there a way to do this with git-new-workdir, do I need to clone, or is there a better solution? Thanks

  • DB fields not showing up in association custom queries?

    I have a notification list that the user can select different show options for different kinds of notifications along with how many results are returned. I'm keeping them in the user model because I want the custom sort to stay with the user between sessions. Here is the association in my user model: has_many :notifications, :class_name => "Notification", :foreign_key => "user_id", :conditions => ["won = ? and lost = ? and paid = ?", self.prefs_won, self.prefs_lost, self.prefs_paid], :limit => self.prefs_results.to_s But when I use the above code, Rails throws me an "unknown method" error for self.prefs_won. It is definitely a field in my database and set as a boolean value, but Rails can't find it... what's the problem?

  • Logging on to two sites simultaneously

    I want to log on to two sites simultaneously to enable a single sign on solution. We have a smallish wiki that is created with Apple wiki and we have an intranet site on a aspx cms system by Elcom. Both use Active Directory for credentials. Currently they are on different domains, but we could enable a rewrite using our load-balancer (Citrix Netscaler) or IIS. These sites are on different servers, one a mysterious Mac system and the other an IIS v6.0 on windows 2003. Now I am almost certain that a reverse proxy set up will solve this but I really just need someone to agree that this solves this issue, and if there are things I should look out for what they might be. I just want to have an invisible log on screen in an iframe and enter clone the user name and password using javascript.
