• DynaCache invalidation in clustered environment

  We are using Horizontal cluster in our PROD with WAS 6.1 as the Application server. We have enabled dynacache service for some of the JSP fragments using SHARED-PUSH in cachespec.xml file. Now we want to do cache invalidation programmatically..ie. whenever something changes in DB related to cache the cache should get invalidated. so can you please let me know what steps are involved in it to achieve this? any configuration settings at server side or any development changes.

• UIWebView in UITableView hide cells

  I have a UIWebView in UITableView, I have this on storyboard: The UIImageView is my future NavBar and the UIWebView is in the UITableView, I have this configuration: -UIImageView -UITableView -UIWebView -UITableViewCell When the UIWebView load the pages (I Have local pages) I want that it takes dynamically their size and for this I have this code: [detailWebView setFrame:CGRectMake(0.,0.,detailWebView.frame.size.width,[[detailWebView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:@"document.body.scrollHeight;"] intValue])]; The problem is when the loaded page is long, my UIWebBrowser hide the cells and didn't push them to get cells at the bottom. I don't understand why I have this, when I resize the UIWebBrowser in the storyboard I don't have this problem but I want to do it programmatically Thanks,

• Symfony 1.3 and forms: the password changes when i click on 'Save', why??

  Hi, i have installed sfDoctrineGuardUser and have created this model that inherits sfGuardUser model: Usuario: inheritance: extends: sfGuardUser type: simple columns: nombre_apellidos: string(60) sexo: boolean fecha_nac: date provincia: string(60) localidad: string(255) email_address: string(255) avatar: string(255) avatar_mensajes: string(255) I have also created a module called 'miembros' based on that model. Well, I log normally through sfGuardAuth/signin, then i go to "miembros/edit/id/$id_of_the_member_i_used_to_log_in" and push 'Save' button. Then i logout. If i try to log in again, it says: "The username and/or password is invalid". Later, i have realized that when click 'Save' the value of the field 'password' changes (well its encrypted version). So that is the reason why i can not then log in. But, why the value of the password change when i click on 'Save' ??? Regards Javi

• Does the UISplitViewController have to be the root controller of an iPad app?

  Hey friends, According to Apple's documentation on the UISplitViewController (in the new iPad 3.2 SDK) it looks like they intend for you to use it only as a root controller of an app. In other words...it seams like you cannot push a UISplitViewController onto a UINavigationController because obviously the UINavigationController would need to hold the split view. Can anyone confirm if this is a true limitation of the UISplitViewController? I was hoping to use the split view in my app a few levels deep in my UINavigationController hierarchy but it looks like I won't be able to do that unless there is a way. Thank you!

• How do I get selected background color from SecondView to pass to FirstView?

  I am going insane! This is a simple app with two Views. FirstView is a text field with info button to flip to SecondView. In SecondView I have 6 buttons for background color choice. When button is pushed the color of background changes perfectly but cannot make it also change background color for FirstView. Any help would be GREAT! Thanks! I am using Objective C class working on a iPhone app. Sorry new at this. The SecondView acts almost like a settings page in the fact that when a button is pushed the background color changes to the button color. I need it so when I push the "back" button to go back to FirstView the background color has also changed to that color choice. Been thru sooooooooo many tutorials and codes that now I am totally lost......... Thanks again!

• how to clone a project on heroku

  I have a project on heroku working fine. Now I want to create same project with different url (same code) as the one I have working now. So that I can give the new url to the customer as a 'test' site. I know in heroku i can just rename the url but I want to completely separate development from test (database wise). What is the best solution? Do I start from scratch? cd into new folder on my machine...clone project from github...make new database -test ...push to heroku...etc. etc.

  We come from a subversion background where we have a QA manager who gives commit rights to the central repository once he has verified that all QC activities have been done. Me and a couple of colleagues are starting to use mercurial, and we want to have a shared repository that would contain our QC-ed changes. Each of the developers hg clones the repository and pushes his changes back to the shared repository. I've read the HG init tutorial and skimmed through the red bean book, but could not find how to control who is allowed to push changes to the shared repository. How would our existing model of QA-manager controlled commits translate to a mercurial 'central' repository?

The problem is that using the splitter is very sluggish. i would expect that a modern 2 GHz computer can re-display the form as fast as a human can push the mouse around. But that's definitely not the case, and it takes about 200-300 ms before the form is fully re-adjusted. The form has about 100 visual controls on it, no code, or custom controls. How do i go about tracing who's the cause of the sluggishness?

  I have an idea to streamline deployments of prototypes within our team using VMs. The idea would be that a developer would be able to deploy their artifacts to Maven, then use a Web interface to pull them onto a development VM for integration/regression testing. They would then be able to to push those artifacts to a reference system, and finally onto production. I'm currently thinking of doing this myself using the vSphere Java API ( http://vijava.sourceforge.net/ ), and some simple scripting to grab artifacts from the Maven repository, configuration from SVN, and then start up a JBoss server. It feels like the kind of thing that may already be available though, has anyone heard of something similar?

• Writing to a java socket channel which should be closed does not generate an exception

  Hi all, We have a java server that keeps a socket channel open with an Android client in order to provide push capabilities to our client application. However, after putting the Android in airplane mode, which I expected would sever the connection, the server can still write to the SocketChannel object associated with that Android client and no error is thrown. Calling SocketChannel.isConnected() before writing to it returns true. What are we missing? Is the handling of sockets different with mobile devices? Thanks in advance for your help.

  I have an ItemRenderer that is shared by several applications (inside a DataGrid), and I would like to add a context menu to it (rather than in each application).   Hi all, I have an application with a tab bar controller and each view contains a navigation controller. My MainWindow looks as follows: Everything works fine as it is but I noticed a problem when pushing a details view to the navigation controller. • Hot deploy on Heroku with no downtime

  A bad side of pushing to Heroku is that I must push the code (and the server restarts automatically) before running my db migrations. This can obviously cause some 500 errors on users navigating the website having the new code without the new tables/attributes: the solution proposed by Heroku is to use the maintenance mode, but I want a way with no downside letting my webapp running everytime! Is there a way? For example with Capistrano: I prepare the code to deploy in a new dir I run (backward) migrations and the old code continue to work perfectly I swith mongrel instance to the new dir and restart the server ...and I have no downtime!

• Problem with Ruby script output being stored into a file

  I have a Ruby script that outputs a heap of text. As an example: puts "line 1" puts "line 2" puts "line 3" # etc... (obviously, this isn't how my script works..) There's not a lot of data - perhaps about 8kb of character data in total. When I run the script on the command line, it works as expected: $ ./my-script.rb line 1 line 2 line 3 But, when I push it into a file, the output is truncated at exactly 4096 bytes: $ ./my-script.rb > output.txt What would cause it to stop at 4kb?

• C# Xamarin.IOS / MonoTouch - Toolbar Disappears

  I have a Xamarin.IOS/Monotouch project with 2 views - MainView and View2. My MainView window has a navigationController at the top, and a toolbar at the bottom. When I call PushViewController(View2,true); - I get pushed from MainView to my second view (View2). View2 also has a navigationController at the top, but it DOES NOT have a toolbar at the bottom - intentionally. When I click the "Back" button on View2 to push back to my MainView, the toolbar at the bottom of MainView has disappeared. Any ideas on how to get around this? Much appreciated.

• Cloning a private Github repo

  Hi, I have a private repository on Github for a project I'm working on. Until now I had only worked on my home desktop, but I just bought a laptop, and am trying to set it up so that I can work on the project from either computer, and push / pull changes. I added a new SSH key to my Github account for the laptop, and was successful in cloning and making changes to a public test repo that I set up. However, I couldn't clone the private repo. Is there anything special I need to do in the command line in order to clone a private repo? Do I need to set up a new GitHub account for my laptop and set myself up as a collaborator?   For now I use some mix between virtual_env, pip and Fabric. This allows to: install required libs; generate dynamic content; isolate installation; push everything through ssh. It works well, I just want to know if there are other tools around. The only problem I could think of is that it's a lot of to set up every time. It doesn't solve database / media files migration issues either, but maybe I should just open another question for this specific subject. Eventually, I don't know how to automatize the server setup. • pushViewController for same instance - only for animation purpose

  Hi there, I am having single table view in a view controller. That table view lists the countries first. When I click on a country(row), it has to push the same view controller's view with cities under that country. I need to see the slide animation, which we usally get while pushing views in navigator. Is it possible to use the pushViewController for the same view controller by calling the tableView reloadData with city data (This should happen when country is selected) ?   I am using push scene to get the next scene. But, I read that for each PushScene the scene is stored in stack. The memory usage is more. So, I am using the replaceScene in place of pushScene. But, with replace scene I am getting the memory-bad-access message in debugger. So, I want to popScene after using it, so that the retain count is zero. But, I am confused in using popScene. If I have a Scene1 and Scene2. I used the following to go in to Scene2. Now I need to remove Scene1 from stack.
