  • Delphi interface cast using TValue

    - by conciliator
    I've recently experimented extensively with interfaces and D2010 RTTI. I don't know at runtime the actual type of the interface; although I will have access to it's qualified name using a string. Consider the following: program rtti_sb_1; {$APPTYPE CONSOLE} uses SysUtils, Rtti, TypInfo, mynamespace in 'mynamespace.pas'; var ctx: TRttiContext; InterfaceType: TRttiType; Method: TRttiMethod; ActualParentInstance: IParent; ChildInterfaceValue: TValue; ParentInterfaceValue: TValue; begin ctx := TRttiContext.Create; // Instantiation ActualParentInstance := TChild.Create as IParent; {$define WORKAROUND} {$ifdef WORKAROUND} InterfaceType := ctx.GetType(TypeInfo(IParent)); InterfaceType := ctx.GetType(TypeInfo(IChild)); {$endif} // Fetch interface type InterfaceType := ctx.FindType('mynamespace.IParent'); // This cast is OK and ChildMethod is executed (ActualParentInstance as IChild).ChildMethod(100); // Create a TValue holding the interface TValue.Make(@ActualParentInstance, InterfaceType.Handle, ParentInterfaceValue); InterfaceType := ctx.FindType('mynamespace.IChild'); // This cast doesn't work if ParentInterfaceValue.TryCast(InterfaceType.Handle, ChildInterfaceValue) then begin Method := InterfaceType.GetMethod('ChildMethod'); if (Method <> nil) then begin Method.Invoke(ChildInterfaceValue, [100]); end; end; ReadLn; end. The contents of mynamespace.pas is as follows: {$M+} IParent = interface ['{2375F59E-D432-4D7D-8D62-768F4225FFD1}'] procedure ParentMethod(const Id: integer); end; {$M-} IChild = interface(IParent) ['{6F89487E-5BB7-42FC-A760-38DA2329E0C5}'] procedure ChildMethod(const Id: integer); end; TParent = class(TInterfacedObject, IParent) public procedure ParentMethod(const Id: integer); end; TChild = class(TParent, IChild) public procedure ChildMethod(const Id: integer); end; For completeness, the implementation goes as procedure TParent.ParentMethod(const Id: integer); begin WriteLn('ParentMethod executed. Id is ' + IntToStr(Id)); end; procedure TChild.ChildMethod(const Id: integer); begin WriteLn('ChildMethod executed. Id is ' + IntToStr(Id)); end; The reason for {$define WORKAROUND} may be found in this post. Question: is there any way for me to make the desired type cast using RTTI? In other words: is there a way for me to invoke IChild.ChildMethod from knowing 1) the qualified name of IChild as a string, and 2) a reference to the TChild instance as a IParent interface? (After all, the hard-coded cast works fine. Is this even possible?) Thanks!

  • Compiling GData for iPhone

    - by spin-docta
    Hi, I'm trying to compile a project that uses the GData objective-c framework. I've successfully compiled and run the project under the 'Debug' configuration, but when I try to compile using 'Release' and now 'Adhoc' I get the following errors. NOTE: I duplicated the debug configuration for adhoc and that doesn't seem to help. • How I can fix this code to allow my AVR to talk over serial port?

    - by samoz
    Hi guys, I've been pulling my hair out lately trying to get an ATmega162 on my STK200 to talk to my computer over RS232. I checked and made sure that the STK200 contains a MAX202CPE chip. I've configured the chip to use its internal 8MHz clock and divided it by 8. I've tried to copy the code out of the data sheet (and made changes where the compiler complained), but to no avail. My code is below, could someone please help me fix the problems that I'm having? I've confirmed that my serial port works on other devices and is not faulty. Thanks! #include <avr/io.h> #include <avr/iom162.h> #define BAUDRATE 4800 void USART_Init(unsigned int baud) { UBRR0H = (unsigned char)(baud >> 8); UBRR0L = (unsigned char)baud; UCSR0B = (1 << RXEN0) | (1 << TXEN0); UCSR0C = (1 << URSEL0) | (1 << USBS0) | (3 << UCSZ00); } void USART_Transmit(unsigned char data) { while(!(UCSR0A & (1 << UDRE0))); UDR0 = data; } unsigned char USART_Receive() { while(!(UCSR0A & (1 << RXC0))); return UDR0; } int main() { USART_Init(BAUDRATE); unsigned char data; // all are 1, all as output DDRB = 0xFF; while(1) { data = USART_Receive(); PORTB = data; USART_Transmit(data); } }

  • Using array as map value: Cant see the error

    Hi all, Im trying to create a map, where the key is an int, and the value is an array int red[3] = {1,0,0}; int green[3] = {0,1,0}; int blue[3] = {0,0,1}; std::map<int, int[3]> colours; colours.insert(std::pair<int,int[3]>(GLUT_LEFT_BUTTON,red)); //THIS IS LINE 24 ! colours.insert(std::pair<int,int[3]>(GLUT_MIDDLE_BUTTON,blue)); colours.insert(std::pair<int,int[3]>(GLUT_RIGHT_BUTTON,green)); However, when I try to compile this code, I get the following error. g++ (Ubuntu 4.4.1-4ubuntu8) 4.4.1 In file included from /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_algobase.h:66, from /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_tree.h:62, from /usr/include/c++/4.4/map:60, from ../src/utils.cpp:9: /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_pair.h: In constructor ‘std::pair<_T1, _T2>::pair(const _T1&, const _T2&) [with _T1 = int, _T2 = int [3]]’: ../src/utils.cpp:24: instantiated from here /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_pair.h:84: error: array used as initializer /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_pair.h: In constructor ‘std::pair<_T1, _T2>::pair(const std::pair<_U1, _U2>&) [with _U1 = int, _U2 = int [3], _T1 = const int, _T2 = int [3]]’: ../src/utils.cpp:24: instantiated from here /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_pair.h:101: error: array used as initializer In file included from /usr/include/c++/4.4/map:61, from ../src/utils.cpp:9: /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_map.h: In member function ‘_Tp& std::map<_Key, _Tp, _Compare, _Alloc>::operator[](const _Key&) [with _Key = int, _Tp = int [3], _Compare = std::less<int>, _Alloc = std::allocator<std::pair<const int, int [3]> >]’: ../src/utils.cpp:30: instantiated from here /usr/include/c++/4.4/bits/stl_map.h:450: error: conversion from ‘int’ to non-scalar type ‘int [3]’ requested make: *** [src/utils.o] Error 1 I really cant see where the error is. • Custom QGraphicsItems not compiling and gives "object is private" error

    - by bahree
    Hi, I am trying to create a Custom QGraphicsItem button as shown by Fred here. The code which he posted can be found here. The problem is when I try and compile the code I get the following two errors: /usr/include/qt4/QtGui/qgraphicsitem.h ‘QGraphicsItem::QGraphicsItem(const QGraphicsItem&)’ is private /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/qobject.h ‘QObject::QObject(const QObject&)’ is private Here is the code snippet which essentially is the same as that in the sample above. The error is on the class deceleration. class MyButton : public QObject, public QGraphicsItem { Q_OBJECT Q_INTERFACES(QGraphicsItem) public: MyButton(QGraphicsItem *parent = 0); MyButton(const QString normal, const QString pressed = "", QGraphicsItem *parent = 0); .... } Interestingly the other sample as shown here works fine. The sample code for that can be found here. Any idea what is wrong? Thanks in advance.

  • Creating my own Stack

    - by Malaken
    I am creating my own stack for my data structures class. For our assignment we are using the assignment to convert a real-time infix equation into a postfix equation. I thought my program: took input determines if it was digit or number(operand) prints it out determines if input is operator (+,-,/,*) adds to stack or prints out, depending on stack precedence Instead it prints out the operands as expect, but I get this error when I enter an operator .../dorun.sh line 33: 4136 Segmentation fault sh "$" [code] #include using namespace std; class DishWell{ public: char ReturnEnd(){ return Well.back(); } void Push(char x){ Well.push_back(x); } void Pop(){ Well.pop_back(); } bool IsEmpty(){ return Well.empty(); } private: vector<char> Well; }; #include <iostream> bool Precidence(char Input, char Stack){ int InputPrecidence,StackPrecidence; switch (Input){ case '*': InputPrecidence = 4; break; case '/': InputPrecidence = 4; break; case '+': InputPrecidence = 3; break; case '-': InputPrecidence = 3; break; case '(': InputPrecidence = 2; break; default: InputPrecidence = 0; } switch (Stack){ case '*': StackPrecidence = 4; break; case '/': StackPrecidence = 4; break; case '+': StackPrecidence = 3; break; case '-': StackPrecidence = 3; break; case '(': StackPrecidence = 2; break; default: StackPrecidence = 0; } if(InputPrecidence>StackPrecidence) return true; else return false; } int main(int argc, char** argv) { DishWell DishTray; char Input; bool InputFlag; InputFlag = true; while(InputFlag){ cin>>Input; if((((Input>='a'&&Input<='z')||(Input>='A'&&Input<='Z'))|| (Input>='0'&&Input<='9')))//If Digit or Number cout<<Input; if((Input=='*'||Input=='/'||Input=='+'||Input=='-')){//if operand if(Precidence(Input,DishTray.ReturnEnd())) DishTray.Push(Input); else if(!Precidence(Input,DishTray.ReturnEnd())) cout<<Input; } else if(!((((Input>='a'&&Input<='z')||(Input>='A'&&Input<='Z'))|| (Input>='0'&&Input<='9')))||((Input=='*'||Input=='/'||Input=='+'||Input=='-')))//if not digit/numer or operand InputFlag = false; } while(!DishTray.IsEmpty()){ cout<<DishTray.ReturnEnd(); DishTray.Pop(); } return 0; [code] My code is very length, I know, but I appreciate help. • Problem with extern keyword in C++

    - by Jeff
    What's the difference between the following two declarations? I thought they were equivalent, but the first sample works, and the second does not. I mean it compiles and runs, but the bitmap display code shows blank. I have not stepped through it yet, but am I missing something obvious? GUI_BITMAP is a simple structure describing a bitmap. This is for VC++ 2005, but I think it fails in VC++ 2008 also. Scratching my head on this one... Sample 1: extern "C" const GUI_BITMAP bmkeyA_cap_active; extern "C" const GUI_BITMAP bmkeyA_cap_inactive; Sample 2: extern "C" { const GUI_BITMAP bmkeyA_cap_active; const GUI_BITMAP bmkeyA_cap_inactive; };

  • Attempting to convert an if statement to assembly

    - by Malfist
    What am I doing wrong? This is the assmebly I've written: char encode(char plain){ __asm{ mov al, plain ;check for y or z status cmp al, 'y' je YorZ cmp al, 'z' je YorZ cmp al, 'Y' je YorZ cmp al, 'Z' je YorZ ;check to make sure it is in the alphabet now mov cl, al sub cl, 'A' cmp cl, 24 jl Other sub cl, '6' ;there are six characters between 'Z' and 'a' cmp cl, 24 jl Other jmp done ;means it is not in the alphabet YorZ: sub al, 24 jmp done Other: add al, 2 jmp done done: leave ret } } and this is the C code it's supposed to replace, but doesn't char encode(char plain){ char code; if((plain>='a' && plain<='x') || (plain>='A' && plain <='X')){ code = plain+2; }else if(plain == 'y' || plain=='z' || plain=='Y' || plain == 'y'){ code = plain - 24; }else{ code = plain; } return code; } It seems to convert every character that isn't an y,z,Y,Z into a plus 2 equivalent instead of just A-Xa-x. Any ideas why?

  • compiling opencv 2.4 on a 64 bit mac in Xcode

    - by Walt
    I have an opencv project that I've been developing under ubuntu 12.04, on a parellels VM on a mac which has an x86_64 architecture. There have been many screen switching performance issues that I believe are due to the VM, where linux video modes flip around for a couple seconds while camera access is made by the opencv application. I decided to moved the project into Xcode on the mac side of the computer to continue the opencv development. However, I'm not that familiar with xcode and am having trouble getting the project to build correctly there. I have xcode installed. I downloaded and decompressed the latest version of opencv on the mac, and ran: ~/src/opencv/build/cmake-gui -G Xcode .. per the instructions from willowgarage and various other locations. This appeared to work fine (however I'm wondering now if I'm missing an architecture setting in here, although it is 64-bit intel in Xcode). I then setup an xcode project with the source files from the linux project and changed the include directories to use /opt/local/include/... rather than the /usr/local/include/... I switched xcode to use the LLVM GCC compiler in the build settings for the project then set the Apple LLVM Dialog for C++ to Language Dialect to GNU++11 (which seems possibly inconsistant with the line above) I'm not using a makefile in xcode, (that I'm aware of - it has its own project file...) I was also running into a linker issue that looked like they may be resolved with the addition of this linker flag: -lopencv_video based on a similar posting here: other thread however in that case the person was using a Makefile in their project. I've tried adding this linker flag under "Other Linker Flags" in xcode build settings but still get build errors. I think I may have two issues here, one with the architecture settings when building the opencv libraries with Cmake, and one with the linker flag settings in my project. Currently the build error list looks like this: Undefined symbols for architecture x86_64: "cv::_InputArray::_InputArray(cv::Mat const&)", referenced from: _main in main.o "cv::_OutputArray::_OutputArray(cv::Mat&)", referenced from: _main in main.o "cv::Mat::deallocate()", referenced from: cv::Mat::release() in main.o "cv::Mat::copySize(cv::Mat const&)", referenced from: cv::Mat::Mat(cv::Mat const&)in main.o cv::Mat::operator=(cv::Mat const&)in main.o "cv::Mat::Mat(_IplImage const*, bool)", referenced from: _main in main.o "cv::imread(std::basic_string<char, std::char_traits<char>, std::allocator<char> > const&, int)", referenced from: _main in main.o ---SNIP--- ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture x86_64 collect2: ld returned 1 exit status Can anyone provide some guidance on what to try next? Thanks, Walt

  • How to make the tokenizer detect empty spaces while using strtok()

    - by Shadi Al Mahallawy
    I am designing a c++ program, somewhere in the program i need to detect if there is a blank(empty token) next to the token used know eg. if(token1==start) { token2=strtok(NULL," "); if(token2==NULL) {LCCTR=0;} else {LCCTR=atoi(token2);} so in the previous peice token1 is pointing to start , and i want to check if there is anumber next to the start , so I used token2=strtok(NULL," ") to point to the next token but unfortunattly the strtok function cannot detect empty spaces so it gives me an error at run time"INVALID NULL POINTER" how can i fix it or is there another function to use to detect empty spaces #include <iostream> #include<string> #include<map> #include<iomanip> #include<fstream> #include<ctype.h> using namespace std; const int MAX=300; int LCCTR; int START(char* token1); char* PASS1(char*token1); void tokinizer() { ifstream in; ofstream out; char oneline[MAX]; in.open("infile.txt"); out.open("outfile.txt"); if(in.is_open()) { char *token1; • Changing drag cursor in VirtualTreeView

    - by Coder12345
    When using VirtualTreeView drag operation by default is [doCopy,doMove]. Move operation is indicated by arrow pointer with small box and Copy operation is indicated by same pointer icon but with added [+] next to it. By default VT uses copy operation and if you press modifier key (SHIFT key) it modifies operation to move therefore removing the [+] from pointer. Here is what I need: reverse the operations (default would be move, with modifier key pressed - copy) and thus reverse pointer arrow too replace modifier key - CTRL instead of SHIFT read in an event which of the two operations occurred and start copy or move operation Any pointers into right direction(s) appreciated.

  • No Binary File Generation

    - by Nathan Campos
    I've just bought a new laptop for me on the travel, then on my free time, I've started to test MinGW on it by trying to compile my own OS that is written in C++, then I've created all the files needed and the kernel.cpp: extern "C" void _main(struct multiboot_data* mbd, unsigned int magic); void _main( struct multiboot_data* mbd, unsigned int magic ) { char * boot_loader_name =(char*) ((long*)mbd)[16]; /* Print a letter to screen to see everything is working: */ unsigned char *videoram = (unsigned char *) 0xb8000; videoram[0] = 65; /* character 'A' */ videoram[1] = 0x07; /* forground, background color. */ } And tried to compile it with g++ G: g++ -o C:\kernel.o -c kernel.cpp -Wall -Wextra -Werror -nostdlib -nostartfiles -nodefaultlibs kernel.cpp: In function `void _main(multiboot_data*, unsigned int)': kernel.cpp:8: warning: unused variable 'boot_loader_name' kernel.cpp: At global scope: kernel.cpp:4: warning: unused parameter 'magic' G: But it don't create any binary file at C:/, what can I do?

  • C++/CLI .ToString() returning error

    - by George Johnston
    I am a beginner to C++/CLI as I come from a C# background. I am currently writing a wrapper for some native C++ code. I have the following methods: void AddToBlockList(System::String^ address) { char* cAddress = (char*)(void*)Marshal::StringToHGlobalAnsi(address); _packetFilter->AddToBlockList(cAddress); } void AddToBlockList(IPAddress^ address) { char* cAddress = (char*)(void*)Marshal::StringToHGlobalAnsi(address.ToString()); _packetFilter->AddToBlockList(cAddress); } ...The first method works fine and converts my string into the character array. However, the second function with the IPAddress object as the signiture gives me the following error: error C2228: left of '.ToString' must have class/struct/union ...When I type ? address.ToString() ...in the command window, the IP Address prints. Not sure where I'm going wrong. Any ideas?

  • Different behavior of functors (copies, assignments) in VS2010 (compared with VS2005)

    - by Patrick
    When moving from VS2005 to VS2010 we noticed a performance decrease, which seemed to be caused by additional copies of a functor. The following code illustrates the problem. It is essential to have a map where the value itself is a set. On both the map and the set we defined a comparison functor (which is templated in the example). #include <iostream> #include <map> #include <set> class A { public: A(int i, char c) : m_i(i), m_c(c) { std::cout << "Construct object " << m_c << m_i << std::endl; } A(const A &a) : m_i(a.m_i), m_c(a.m_c) { std::cout << "Copy object " << m_c << m_i << std::endl; } ~A() { std::cout << "Destruct object " << m_c << m_i << std::endl; } void operator= (const A &a) { m_i = a.m_i; m_c = a.m_c; std::cout << "Assign object " << m_c << m_i << std::endl; } int m_i; char m_c; }; class B : public A { public: B(int i) : A(i, 'B') { } static const char s_c = 'B'; }; class C : public A { public: C(int i) : A(i, 'C') { } static const char s_c = 'C'; }; template <class X> class compareA { public: compareA() : m_i(999) { std::cout << "Construct functor " << X::s_c << m_i << std::endl; } compareA(const compareA &a) : m_i(a.m_i) { std::cout << "Copy functor " << X::s_c << m_i << std::endl; } ~compareA() { std::cout << "Destruct functor " << X::s_c << m_i << std::endl; } void operator= (const compareA &a) { m_i = a.m_i; std::cout << "Assign functor " << X::s_c << m_i << std::endl; } bool operator() (const X &x1, const X &x2) const { std::cout << "Comparing object " << x1.m_i << " with " << x2.m_i << std::endl; return x1.m_i < x2.m_i; } private: int m_i; }; typedef std::set<C, compareA<C> > SetTest; typedef std::map<B, SetTest, compareA<B> > MapTest; int main() { int i = 0; std::cout << "--- " << i++ << std::endl; MapTest mapTest; std::cout << "--- " << i++ << std::endl; SetTest &setTest = mapTest[0]; std::cout << "--- " << i++ << std::endl; } If I compile this code with VS2005 I get the following output: --- 0 Construct functor B999 Copy functor B999 Copy functor B999 Destruct functor B999 Destruct functor B999 --- 1 Construct object B0 Construct functor C999 Copy functor C999 Copy functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Copy object B0 Copy functor C999 Copy functor C999 Copy functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Copy object B0 Copy functor C999 Copy functor C999 Copy functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Destruct object B0 Destruct functor C999 Destruct object B0 --- 2 If I compile this with VS2010, I get the following output: --- 0 Construct functor B999 Copy functor B999 Copy functor B999 Destruct functor B999 Destruct functor B999 --- 1 Construct object B0 Construct functor C999 Copy functor C999 Copy functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Copy object B0 Copy functor C999 Copy functor C999 Copy functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Copy functor C999 Assign functor C999 Assign functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Copy object B0 Copy functor C999 Copy functor C999 Copy functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Copy functor C999 Assign functor C999 Assign functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Destruct functor C999 Destruct object B0 Destruct functor C999 Destruct object B0 --- 2 The output for the first statement (constructing the map) is identical. The output for the second statement (creating the first element in the map and getting a reference to it), is much bigger in the VS2010 case: Copy constructor of functor: 10 times vs 8 times Assignment of functor: 2 times vs. 0 times Destructor of functor: 10 times vs 8 times My questions are: Why does the STL copy a functor? Isn't it enough to construct it once for every instantiation of the set? Why is the functor constructed more in the VS2010 case than in the VS2005 case? (didn't check VS2008) And why is it assigned two times in VS2010 and not in VS2005? Are there any tricks to avoid the copy of functors? I saw a similar question at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2216041/prevent-unnecessary-copies-of-c-functor-objects but I'm not sure that's the same question. Thanks in advance, Patrick

  • C: sprintf and recursion

    - by Shinka
    In C, is it possible to use recursion within the sprintf function ? For some reason I get a segmentation fault when I do it: inline char *TreeNode_toString(const TreeNode *node) { char *out; if(TreeNode_isExternal(node)) // If the node has no children... { sprintf(out, "%s:%.2f", node->name, node->distance); } else // The node is strictly binary, so it will have two non-null children { char *l = TreeNode_toString(node->l); // l = left child char *r = TreeNode_toString(node->r); // r = right child sprintf(out, "(%s,%s):%.2f", l, r, node->distance); } return out; }

  • A couple questions using fwrite/fread with data structures

    - by Nazgulled
    Hi, I'm using fwrite() and fread() for the first time to write some data structures to disk and I have a couple of questions about best practices and proper ways of doing things. What I'm writing to disk (so I can later read it back) is all user profiles inserted in a Graph structure. Each graph vertex is of the following type: typedef struct sUserProfile { char name[NAME_SZ]; char address[ADDRESS_SZ]; int socialNumber; char password[PASSWORD_SZ]; HashTable *mailbox; short msgCount; } UserProfile; And this is how I'm currently writing all the profiles to disk: void ioWriteNetworkState(SocialNetwork *social) { Vertex *currPtr = social->usersNetwork->vertices; UserProfile *user; FILE *fp = fopen("save/profiles.dat", "w"); if(!fp) { perror("fopen"); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } fwrite(&(social->usersCount), sizeof(int), 1, fp); while(currPtr) { user = (UserProfile*)currPtr->value; fwrite(&(user->socialNumber), sizeof(int), 1, fp); fwrite(user->name, sizeof(char)*strlen(user->name), 1, fp); fwrite(user->address, sizeof(char)*strlen(user->address), 1, fp); fwrite(user->password, sizeof(char)*strlen(user->password), 1, fp); fwrite(&(user->msgCount), sizeof(short), 1, fp); break; currPtr = currPtr->next; } fclose(fp); } Notes: The first fwrite() you see will write the total user count in the graph so I know how much data I need to read back. The break is there for testing purposes. There's thousands of users and I'm still experimenting with the code. My questions: After reading this I decided to use fwrite() on each element instead of writing the whole structure. I also avoid writing the pointer to to the mailbox as I don't need to save that pointer. So, is this the way to go? Multiple fwrite()'s instead of a global one for the whole structure? Isn't that slower? How do I read back this content? I know I have to use fread() but I don't know the size of the strings, cause I used strlen() to write them. I could write the output of strlen() before writing the string, but is there any better way without extra writes?

  • Issue with class template partial specialization

    - by DeadMG
    I've been trying to implement a function that needs partial template specializations and fallen back to the static struct technique, and I'm having a number of problems. template<typename T> struct PushImpl<const T&> { typedef T* result_type; typedef const T& argument_type; template<int StackSize> static result_type Push(IStack<StackSize>* sptr, argument_type ref) { // Code if the template is T& } }; template<typename T> struct PushImpl<const T*> { typedef T* result_type; typedef const T* argument_type; template<int StackSize> static result_type Push(IStack<StackSize>* sptr, argument_type ptr) { return PushImpl<const T&>::Push(sptr, *ptr); } }; template<typename T> struct PushImpl { typedef T* result_type; typedef const T& argument_type; template<int StackSize> static result_type Push(IStack<StackSize>* sptr, argument_type ref) { // Code if the template is neither T* nor T& } }; template<typename T> typename PushImpl<T>::result_type Push(typename PushImpl<T>::argument_type ref) { return PushImpl<T>::Push(this, ref); } First: The struct is nested inside another class (the one that offers Push as a member func), but it can't access the template parameter (StackSize), even though my other nested classes all could. I've worked around it, but it would be cleaner if they could just access StackSize like a normal class. Second: The compiler complains that it doesn't use or can't deduce T. Really? Thirdly: The compiler complains that it can't specialize a template in the current scope (class scope). I can't see what the problem is. Have I accidentally invoked some bad syntax?

  • How to expose a Delphi set type via Soap

    - by Wouter van Nifterick
    I'm currently creating soap wrappers for some Delphi functions so that we can easily use them from PHP, C# and Delphi. I wonder what's the best way to expose sets. type TCountry = (countryUnknown,countryNL,countryD,countryB,countryS,countryFIN,countryF,countryE,countryP,countryPl,countryL); TCountrySet = set of TCountry; function GetValidCountrySet(const LicensePlate:string; const PossibleCountriesSet:TCountrySet):TCountrySet; I'm currently wrapping it like this for the soap server: type TCountryArray = array of TCountry; function TVehicleInfo.GetValidCountrySet(const LicensePlate:string; const PossibleCountriesSet:TCountryArray):TCountryArray; It works, but I need to write a lot of useless and ugly code to convert sets--arrays and arrays--sets. Is there an easier, more elegant, or more generic way to do this?
