• errors deploying an EAR with EJBs 2.1 into JBoss AS5

  Hi, I'm porting an application with EJBs 2.1 from Weblogic9 to JBoss AS5. I have made some of the changes like adding jboss.xml descriptors to EJBs and fixing application.xml of the EAR, but there are still problems when deploying the EAR. Is this a problem with parsing the jboss_2_4.dtd itself? or is it something worng with my descriptors for the EJB? When I try to validate the jboss_2_4.dtd in an XML editor it does complain about a syntax error at line 94:1 , which is the beginning of the first declaration, although it looks fine. Any ideas?   We're developing applications for AppExchange and are trying to figure out the best way to do development and release management. There are several issues around this: 1) Package Prefixes. We are developing code in unmanaged mode and releasing as managed, so we have to add all the package prefixes into the code. Is there a way to do this dynamically at runtime? Right now we're using an Ant script, which stops us benefitting from the force.com IDE plugin. 2) Resource files... We are doing some ajax-ey stuff and as a result have a few different resource files we upload, some of which are multiple file resources (zip files). Has anyone automated the building of these resources using ANT, and does that work well? Our environment seems very fragile and works for some developers and not others; have other people had this problem? How did you resolve it?

• gcc linking shared libraries with dependent libraries

  I have a complicated project with multiple executable targets and multiple shared libraries. The shared libraries currently don't have their dependent shared libraries linked in, and the result is that linker arguments to build the executables are hideously long and hard to maintain. I'd like to add in the dependencies so the Makefiles become much cleaner. I want to add the following (example): gcc -shared -o libshared.so -lshared_dependent1 -lshared_dependent2 objfile1.o objfile2.o Is there a way to test if all the symbols in libshared.so will resolve based on that line? Is there a way to print out if any of the shared_dependent libraries specified were unnecessary? Thanks in advance.

  Hi folks, I wish to authenticate a user without having the page reloaded, and having the user submit a given form. However, the problem that I immediately run into here is that the authenticity token typically gets set when the page is reloaded. I need the authenticity token for the form submission, but i do not have it yet because the page is yet to reload. I figure this cannot be that rare - anyone has any idea on how to resolve this? 1 idea could be getting rails to pass back the authenticity token after authentication, but i do not know how to access it from the controller 1) not logined user sees form 2) not logined user types in message and submit 3) facebox asking for authentication 4) after authentication, submit form automatically without refreshing 5) //but authenticity token is needed for form submission, which is not there yet

• Checking to see if a generic class is inherited from an interface

  I've got a class that inherits from an interface. That interface defines an event that I'd like to subscribe to in the calling code. I've tried a couple of things, but they all resolve to false (where I know it's true). How can I check to see if a class implements a specific interface. • SVN problems after migration with CVS2SVN

  We´ve migrated from CVS on AIX to SVN on Linux via CVS2SVN. The migration seems to have went well but when working in SVN we get a lot of Tree Conflicts that doesn´t seem to be conflicts at all? Looking at the revision graphs, one can see that the graph for e.g. trunk and a branch isn´t the same, i.e. they contain different sets of revisions of the file. Either of the 3 ways to resolve this conflict when merging in TortoiseSVN leaves the revision graphs separate, they cannot be "melted" together. Could it be that CVS2SVN didn´t understand that a file in different branches is the same even if the file system path is the same? Anyone who has experienced this? Thanks, Bjorn

  Is there a mechanism, or any additional tools that I can make use of to bulk import 301 redirect rules into an IIS6.0 web application? I want to be able to 301 redirect some old .htm pages to their new home on a CMS to ensure the current search index entries resolve OK and don't 404, but there are roughly ~50 pages. The only way I've found to achieve this is to create dummy .htm files and then right click on the file-File tab-Redirect to a URL radio button within the IIS MMC snapin, which is a little laborious over the number of pages. However, apparently due to a namespace issue none of my Xpath expressions resolve.My form works fine on a simple instance when the instance file has no namespace.   My purpose is to install ruby/gnome2 and make it work with ruby1.9 on Ubuntu9.10. I already have ruby/gnome2 working with ruby1.8, but I need to make it work with ruby1.9. I also have ruby1.9 working. When I run within ruby-gnome2-all-0.19.3: ruby1.9 extconf.rb it eventually gives me: Target libraries: glib, gdkpixbuf, pango, atk, gtk, gconf, libglade Ignored libraries: gnomeprintui, panel-applet, gtksourceview, gtksourceview2, bonoboui, bonobo, libart, goocanvas, rsvg, gnomeprint, gstreamer, vte, gnomevfs, poppler, gnomecanvas, gtkglext, gnome, gtkmozembed, gtkhtml2 so it seems some packages failed to be installed. When I look for the log for example for the gnomeprintui part, it exits after returning: cheking for libgnomeprinrui-2.2... no but apt-get says I have the newest version of it. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this problem?

How could I do it? I was thinking about this two solutions: Uninstalling Rails 3. I read that somebody removed Rails 3 by using gem uninstall but he came across some problems then. Did anyone try to remove it in this way? Using different versions Rails at the same time. Is it possible at all? It will resolve all my problems but I could find nothing about this issue in google. • Using Unity and interfaces, how do I create a concrete class that implements IDisposable

  I have an interface (IDbAccess) for a database access class so that I can unit test it using Unity. It all works fine in Unity and now I want to make the concrete database class implement IDisposable so that it closes the db connections. My problem is that Unity does not understand that my concrete class is disposable because the interface (IDbAccess) cannot implement another interface. So how can I write code like this (pseudo code) so that Unity is aware that it needs to dispose the class as soon as I am done? • in TFS can we customize the merge algorithm (conflict resolution)

  In our case we want to igonore changes in code comment headers for generated code. In Visual Studio, we can change the merge tool (GUI that pops up) and use a 3rd party tool that is able to be customized to ignore changes (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms181446.aspx). Great, so a file comparison no longer highlights code comments as differences. However when it comes time to checkin, the TFS merge algorith is still prompting us to resolve conflicts. Is there any way to better inform the merge conflict resolution algorithm about which changes are actually important to us? Or can we replace the algorithm or otherwise have it subcontract its work to a 3rd party?

• SQL Server Reporting Services proxy timeout (ASP.NET)

  Morning, We are using SSRS (2005) and have a ASP.NET frontend using the SSRS WebControl. I've boiled the problem down the time it takes for one particular report to be generated is greater than the timeout on the proxy server. It looks like the way the SSRS web control tries to do things is by performing an HTTP request for the report, however the problem with this is the request can timeout potentially before the report has generated. Looking at the HTTP traffic the response is a 504 (gateway timeout). Is there a way to increase the timeout or change SSRS WebControl to use more robust polling mechanism (which isn't dependant on the timeout of the HTTP request). I could be wrong but I don't think ServerReport.Timeout property would resolve the issue we are seeing? Any thoughts? Philip

• Determining the hostname/IP address from the MX record in PHP

  Hi there, have a basic email domain validation script that takes a user's email domain, resolves the IP address from that and then checks that against various published blacklists. Here is how I am determining the IP: $domain = substr(strchr($email, '@'), 1); $ip = gethostbyname($domain); The problem is that some email address domains, such as [email protected], use an MX record rather than an A record, so using gethostbyname('alumni.example.net') will fail to resolve. I know when a user's email is using an MX in the email itself by using the PHP checkdnsrr function, but once at that stage am a little stuck as to how to proceed. In theory, I could parse out the 'root' domain, i.e. 'example.net' and check it, but I've not found reliable regex that can handle this task when the user could easily have an email the format of [email protected]... So, any suggestions on how to best tackle this??

• SQL Server CLR Integration to acheive Encryption/Decryption

  I have a requirement to store the data in encrypted form in database tables. I want to do it at database level but the problems I am facing: ( a) Data Type of the field should be Varbinary. ( b) Encryption is not supported by Workgroup edition ( c) Is it possible to encrypt Numeric Fields? I want to access the encrypted data in tables to fetch in views and stored procedure for some processing but due to above problems I am not able to. Here is my Environment: Development Platform - ASP.Net,.Net Framework 3.5,Visual studio 2008 Server Operating System - Windows Server 2008 Database - SQL Server 2008 Work group edition I was also thinking to adopt a different approach to resolve this issue (yet to test it's feasibility). I was just wondering if I could create a CLR function (which could take parameters to encrypt and decrypt data using Cryptography types provided in .Net framework) and use the CLR integration feature of SQL Server and call that function from stored procedure and views. I am not sure if I am thinking in right direction? Any advice on this as well please.

  -I am trying to create a shared object libfoo.so. libfoo.so is created from "foo.c" - Assume that I include headers "static.h" and "Dynamic.h" where in I want the compiler to resolve the symbols for Static.h and leave the rest ie from Dynamic.h for runtime. - How do i do this ? What are the CFLAG and LDFLAG options that I need to pass. - My makefile is setup to create a shared object using the CFLAGS=fPIC , shared , W1,export-dynamic. - In the include paths i Specify the correct location for "Static.h" Can someone help me ?

  Hi there! I'm trying to add some MarkDown capabilities to my symfony project (symfony version 1.3.3). To accomplish that, I had already included the MarkDown library into lib/vendor directory. Also, I added the need configuration in the autoload.yml for the previous library. However, I'm getting a fatal PHP error: Call to undefined function Markdown(). How can I resolve this problem?
