  • iPad app store visibility

    So I created my iPad app and submitted it to the store, the app is called photogoo. I now have the iPad and I am finding that it is not possible to browse to the app in any way, confirmed by the zero downloads from yesterday. It is only possible to find by searching.. I also noticed that the apps in entertainment were being listed alphabetically and stopped at "F" Am I really being excluded because my app starts with the letter "P" or is it possible there is some reason that I am not being listed under "all apps"?

  • how to make a explorer like logic in Obj C for iphone

    Hi friends, To make the query simple first we can take example:- If we open the explorer in our Windows desktop how it shows us the tree. As we keep on clicking the tree it get expanded and shows the file in it. The same way I want to show a explorer which gets expanded as the user clicks on it(I want to get the business logic the UI is simple). The information of the explorer i.e. which folder has what files come in a XML format to me. I have 2 options of getting the XML either I can get the whole XML at one query(but I guess this might slow the application if the XML is quite big). OR I can get the XML for every list like first only the root structure then if user clicks on any folder in root I can get the list(the files or folders inside that folder) of that particular folder. Now the question is What would be the approach to implement both the method and which would be the best. Should I need to create some dictionary to maintain the link of the files like which file is inside what. I am not able to get as how I would be able to link all the files. Any hint or direction would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

  • UINavigationController from UIViewController

    I currently have this workflow in a tab based app: Tab1 loads... ViewOne : UIViewController >> PickerView : UIViewController >> DetailView : UIViewController "" means loads based on user action. I'd like navigation bars on PickerView and DetailView. PickerView just needs a cancel button in the top left of its nav bar. DetailView needs the normal navbar back button. I already have PickerView's nav bar wired up through IB and working. I'm not sure what to do with PickerView's nav bar. PickerView is also loaded from Tab2, who's main view starts as a UINavigationController. PickerView's nav bar works fine in that case. ViewOne should not have a navigation bar. Any ideas?

    I'm successfully setting a date-picker with an initial date from a plist, but I see some unwanted blue values in the month, day, and year components, presumably corresponding to current date. So if today is April 18, 2010 and initial date being set is March 19, 2008, it looks like this (bold represents the blue): January 17 2006 February 18 2007 ------------------------------ March 19 2008 ------------------------------ April 20 2009 May 21 2010 First question is: How do I get rid of the blue? And second question: Ideally, how do I get it to look like this? January 17 2006 February 18 2007 ------------------------------ March 19 2008 ------------------------------ April 20 2009 May 21 2010 Third question, totally unrelated and not as important: How could I have gotten the above to show in blue rather than bold?     Hy everyone I'm using a TextField where the user is typing in a phonenumber. When the TextField has changed it should check if this number is allready in the phonebook and display the name. So far, my only way is to parse all names and number in a Dict and read it from there. Is there a simpler more efficient and sophisticated way to do that. cheers simon

    Hi guys, I've just completed my first app and having tested I'm ready for submission. However, despite numerous web searches and reading, I'm struggling to finalise the method required to enable me to have a different name on the app store to the name that appears under the app on the device home screen. In the plist.info file there is reference to bundle display name, executable name, bundle name, bundle identifier, product name etc. So, for example, say I would like the app store name to display as: HELLO WORLD and I would like the name below the icon on the device home screen to display as: HELLO How should I enter the data in the plist.info file to achieve the above?     In my viewForAnnotation delegate, I create a MKAnnotationView with leftCalloutaccessory as a info button. When the info button is tapped, I want to replace it with a UIActivityIndicator. So in the calloutAccessoryTapped delegate, I wrote view.leftCalloutaccessoryView = [UIActivityIndicator indicatorWithStyle:UIActivityIndicatorWhite]; The callout accessory seems to change, but it seems like the view doesn't get updated immediately. That's when the callout accessory gets hidden (by tapping another pin) and is re-opened, I see a spinner. But otherwise, I don't. I tried calling [view setNeedsdisplay] and [view setNeedsLayout] and [view layoutsubviews] as well but in vain. Any suggestions/pointers?

    When i try to check leaks of my iPhone App using Instruments, everything is just fine. Same App on actual real device shows this leak for a few times during the app launch. It is pretty non-deterministic and it happens in system libraries. I tried to google down the solution without a luck. Anyone experiencing the same problems? Anyone knows the solution? I find interesting, that every of my leak in code will crash the app sooner or later. These GeneralBlock-3584 leaks keeps app perfectly stable. Might this be reason for AppStore rejection? Thanx for any answer regarding this undocumented problem (Apple is silent unfortunately).

    I want to wait for latitude.text and longtitude.text to be filled in before sending a tweet, this code works fine, but I would rather not put the tweeting part in locationManager because I also want to sometimes update the current location without sending a tweet.   • UIImagepickerController strange bug

    Hi, I'm doing something with UIImagePickerController. It works fine and the Picture browser does open, however, I get this message. "Failed to save the videos metadata to the filesystem. Maybe the information did not conform to a plist." What could be causing that? That is caused by this line [self presentModalViewController:self.imgPicker animated:YES]; which is activated on a button click Snippets of the code that I have below. - (void)viewDidLoad { self.imgPicker = [[UIImagePickerController alloc] init]; self.imgPicker.allowsImageEditing = YES; self.imgPicker.delegate = self; } - (IBAction)grabImage { [self presentModalViewController:self.imgPicker animated:YES]; } it's also removing images from documents directory and from resources folder. I can not understand why? does someone found the solution to this?

  • UITableView resizing rows problem

    Hi All, Hope to get solution to this problem. I have been stuck on it since a long time now. I have a a tableView which has custom labels drawn upon the cell using CGRect. I receive the data from a web service in arrays. Initially i display a line of data on the cells. When the user selects a cell, I call reloadsRowAtIndexPath to increase the height of selected row. In the process, cellForRowAtIndexPath gets called again. I keep track of this by a flag, and when cellForRowAtIndexPath gets called again, I display the two more lines of data from arrays, on the cell. What i am getting is all overlapping data on one other. I tried to remove already placed labels in didSelectRowAtIndexPath, but to no avail. Please help me on this Thanks in advance.

  • NSURLConnection still calls delegate AFTER cancel method has been called

    Hi All, Having a problem with NSURLConnection, if I create a NSURLConnection and call [connection connectionWithRequest] let it load a little then call [connection cancel] most of the time that works fine. However occasionally even after I call [connection cancel] the connection's delegate still gets called (which crashes the app). Googling around it looks like the problem here is a race condition in the runloop, I cancel the connection and release the delegate but before the runloop cycles it calls the delegate functions - crash. Is there a way for me to, after I call [connection cancel] confirm the connection has actually canceled? Even a crappy while() loop will do :(

    When I add libiphone-exif.a to snapandrun in objectiveflickr I get this error: ".objc_class_name_EXFJpeg", referenced from: literal-pointer@__OBJC@__cls_refs@EXFJpeg in SnapAndRunViewController.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status I do not know what this means, I follow the guide to add it, add all of the .h files and the libiphone-exif.a Is there something special I have to do?
