• Dynamically loading hi-res images into UIScrollView

  I've been looking into creating a gallery mode in my application. The functionality will be identical to the built in Photos App. Here's the flow: 1. You touch on a thumbnail and ... 2. a modal view displays a large detail version of the image 3. You have the ability to scroll horizontally through all the images in the gallery while in this modal view I'm stuck on step 3. How do I dynamically load hi res images into a scroll view? I understand I need to set the contentSize for the the scrollView but how do I do that when I've only selected and loaded one image? What delegate methods do I need to implement and what does the heavy lifting look like? Thanks in advance!

• Flight paths linking placemarks using Java Api For Kml(JAK)

  Currently i'm having a project which requires to set placemarks and link them with polylines (i suppose), lines which have an arc to it, with properly segmented portions to the arc. I've been able to generate kml file with jak library. But i can't produce more den 1 placemark in the kml file.   Hi, I'm very new to Git and I've been following this online tutorial for converting my existing SVN repository to a Git repository and am stuck at the final hurdle. http://www.jonmaddox.com/2008/03/05/cleanly-migrate-your-subversion-repository-to-a-git-repository/ On the last step of the tutorial it says to do this: git clone my_blog_tmp my_blog However, when I do, I get the following error: fatal: 'my_blog_tmp' does not appear to be a git repository fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly Some points: 1) I'm entering the above command from within the "my_blog_tmp" directory 2) I've tried entering "git init" to make sure Git is initialised inside the "my_blog_tmp" folder but no joy. However, I haven't come across a clear way to remove something from the classpath, only setting it (which I think would be tedious each time). Does anyone know of a clear way to remove jars from the classpath? Has anyone encountered this Roo problem before and solved it another way?

• EF problem with entity re-ordering and uniqueness constraint

  I am using Entity Framework and I've come to an interesting stumbling block. Let's say there is a db table "Item" with "sequence" column of type int (and others of course). Column "sequence" must be unique and it is used for (re)ordering of items. EF maps this table to "Item" class with "sequence" int property. Now let's say I want to swap position of two items by mutually exchanging each other's sequence number. Upon calling SaveChanges() EF throws an exception complaining about "sequence" uniqueness. It probably generates two UPDATEs and the first one probably fails. I assume that plain SQL solution to this issue is using a third UPDATE to introduce a unique sequence value in the process but I am stuck with EF. Any thoughts?

• SharePoint thinks new Server is offline?

  I added an index server to the topology, and tried to switch it from the front end to the index server but for some reason I get an exception every time in Central Admin saying the server is offline. I checked everything... IIS is running and is serving out correctly The App Pool Identity is valid I restarted IIS I restarted the Indexing server I had a wierd problem when installing SP2 for SharePoint, (WSS sp2 installed fine) where it got stuck and "Upgrading SharePoint Products and Technologies" and I had to run the following command to get it to continue: psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait -force After that it said it succeeded with no errors... The only thing I haven't done is reboot the Primary server cause I have to do it in off hours, but I want to make sure I have covered all my other bases first...Any ideas?

• Looking for help with a design for a simple C# calendar app.

  As a personal project, I'm putting together a C# WPF calendar. I'm stuck on coding the calendar screen - specifically, the 5x7 grid of days. I've first tried to code it using elements like Panels, Labels, and Buttons. I've decided that was too cumbersome. I've then decided to use GDI to draw the calendar myself. I now have a wonderful layout - but I'm not sure how to handle interactive regions of the calendar. (Say, Previous/Next month, clicking on any particular day...) After rendering the calendar screen, should I be creating button objects for all those tasks, and assigning onClick handlers to them? Or is there an alternative solution? • Is it possible to use JSONP on the server?

  Hi all, I'm stuck on a clients host that has medium trust setup which blocks cross domain requests and need data from a 3rd party domain. I now have the option to use JSONP. I've used JSONP from the client with jQuery to get around the browsers cross domain security and I've used HttpWebRequest in ASP.Net 3.5. Is it possible to use JSON on the server and if so how? I don't think it is, but worth asking seeing as I already have this app written server side.... Thanks, Denis

• Image processing in a multhithreaded mode using Java

  Hi Folks, I am supposed to process images in a multithreaded mode using Java. I may having varying number of images where as my number of threads are fixed. I have to process all the images using the fixed set of threads. I am just stuck up on how to do it, I had a look ThreadExecutor and BlockingQueues etc...I am still not clear. What I am doing is, - Get the images and add them in a LinkedBlockingQueue which has runnable code of the image processor. - Create a threadpoolexecutor for which one of the arguements is the LinkedBlockingQueue earlier. - Iterate through a for loop till the queue size and do a threadpoolexecutor.execute(linkedblockingqueue.poll). - all i see is it processes only 100 images which is the minimum thread size passed in LinkedBlockingQueue size. I see I am seriously wrong in my understanding somewhere, how do I process all the images in sets of 100(threads) until they are all done? Any examples or psuedocodes would be highly helpful Thanks!   Hello, I am a newbi programmer and am having trouble with a measurement conversion program I am working on. What I would like to do is have several EditText boxes. When one is filled in and a calculate button is hit then the rest will be populated with a converted number. The part I am getting stuck on is outputting the answers to EditText widgets. ex: There are three EditText Widgets. a user inputs the number 6 into the first one (labeled inches) and presses calculate. I would like the next box to display .5 (labeled feet) and the last to display .1666 (this would be yards) .setText() apparently does not work to modify the text in an EditText any help would be greatly appreciated.

• iPhone: How to Maintain Original Image Size Thoughout Image Edits

  hi, I am developing an iPhone app that resizes and merges images. I want to select two photos of size 1600x1200 from photo library and then merge both into a single image and save that new image back to the photo library. However, I can't get the right size for the merged image. I take two image views of frame 320x480 and set the view's image to my imported images. After manipulating the images (zooming, cropping, rotating), I then save the image to album. When I check the image size it shows 600x800. How do I get the original size of 1600*1200? I've been stuck on this problem from two weeks! Thanks in advance.

• Table View rotate, but not properly (shape change)

  Hello everyone, Here is the thing. I have a ViewController which contain a view in full window. And the program run in landscape mode. I want to put an UITableView over the full screen view but only on right half part of the screen. So I add a UITableView in my view controller, I used the Interface Builder in order to set the Table View in the upper half of the screen so It will be on the right part in LandscapeLeft mode. I searched for on a lot of forum how to rotate my Table View. And so it does... except, It get stuck on the upper half of the landscape mode, it should stick on the right half. I'm not a iPhone coder since long, so I'm a bit confused on how to solve this problem. Do you have any idea on how to resize or make the TableView rotate properly. Thanks,

  Ok, I am trying to create a custom view called CheckedRelativeLayout. It's purpose is the same as a CheckedTextView, to be able to use it in a list of items you want selected or in a Spinner. It's all working fine now, I extended RelativeLayout and implemented Checkable interface. However, I am stuck on a quite simple problem: Where can I find the Drawable that CheckedTextView and RadioButton use? I looked at the sourcecode of both, and they seem to use com.android.internal.R. Well... that's internal stuff. So I can't access it. Any way to get these Drawables or solve the problem somehow?

  Basically I'm using phpbb as a forum of the main site and for images there are captions and in the Control Panel of the forum I added a custom profile field asking if the user if he/she wants amusing or descriptive captions. • Cannot manage to have the main form to show scrollbars if bigger

  Hi everyone I have developped an app on 22inch monitor at its max resolution when I run this on a laptop with a different ratio and a smaller resolution well the form is too big - to be expected but no scroll bar appear automaticaly to see the whole thing if needed I have tempered with all options but could not figure it out I have tried autoscroll of course but nothing I am sure it is not so difficult but I am stuck So if anyone could indicate me what properties to change I'll be most greatful or even better some easy strategy or components (even paying) to achieve a better screen resolution independance but the scrollbar would be great to start with Thanks & Regards Philippe Watel

• Is there a DRMAA Java library that works with Torque/PBS?

  Does anybody know a Java implementation of the DRMAA-API that is known to work with PBS/Torque cluster software? The background behind this: I would like to submit jobs to a newly set-up linux cluster from java using a DRMAA compliant API. The cluster is managed by PBS/Torque. Torque includes PBS DRMAA 1.0 library for Torque/PBS that contains a DRMA-C binding and provides in libdrmaa.so and .a binaries. I know that Sun grid engine includes a drmaa.jar providing a Java-DRMAA API. In fact I opted to use SGE but it was decided to try PBS first. The theory behind that decision was: 'DRMAA is a standard and therefore a Java API needs only a standards compliant drmaa-c binding.' However, I couldn't find such 'general DRMAA-C-java API' and now assume that this assumption is wrong and that the Java libraries are engine specific. Are we stuck here? Any comments appreciated.

• Mysql-how to update the "domain.com" in "[email protected]"

  Hi there, In my database I have a lot of users who've misspelled their e-mail address. This in turn causes my postfix to bounce a lot of mails when sending the newsletter. Forms include (but are not limited to) "yaho.com", "yahho .com" etc. Very annoying! So i have been trying to update those record to the correct value. After executing select email from users where email like '%@yaho%' and email not like '%yahoo%'; and getting the list, I'm stuck because I do not know how to update only the yaho part. I need the username to be left intact. So I thought I would just dump the database and use vim to replace, but I cannot escape the @ symbol.. BTW, how do I select all email addresses written in CAPS? select upper(email) from users; would just transform everything into CAPS, whereas I just needed to find out the already-written-in-CAPS mails.

• What is an example of a website/service which _isn't_ REST?

  So I just started digging into web tech, and I'm stuck on the concept of REST. Could someone clarify REST by giving me an example of what isn't rest? So, as far as I can tell, REST requires the server and client to both be in the same state at the end of every request-response HTTP transfer. Does that sound right? My understanding is that, if a client stores state information locally (which the server does not know about), that service is NOT rest. Thanks in advance.

  Hi all, I am currently working on a small sponsorship application(PHP/MySql) for my personal blog, and am almost finish, but I am stuck on how to calculate the click-thru rate of my sponsors campaigns. I was always terrible with working out percentages, so any practical help would be appreciated. The data is stored in the DB as simple numbers.. So as expected, when a page refreshes, or a sponsors ad is clicked, the data updates with an incrementation of 1. So using these values...say $clicks and $impressions, how would I determine the click-thru rate? What would be the sum I would use to calculate? An example function would really be appreciated. Can I pin down which of my cellForRowAtIndexPath methods is the problem? And how to inspect the type? Or other things should I look at?
