  • Is the salt contained in a phpass hash or do you need to salt its input?

    - by Exception e
    phpass is a widely used hashing 'framework'. Is it good practice to salt the plain password before giving it to PasswordHash (v0.2), like so?: $dynamicSalt = $record['salt']; $staticSalt = 'i5ininsfj5lt4hbfduk54fjbhoxc80sdf'; $plainPassword = $_POST['password']; $password = $plainPassword . $dynamicSalt . $staticSalt; $passwordHash = new PasswordHash(8, false); $storedPassword = $passwordHash->HashPassword($password); For reference the phpsalt class: # Portable PHP password hashing framework. # # Version 0.2 / genuine. # # Written by Solar Designer <solar at openwall.com> in 2004-2006 and placed in # the public domain. # # # class PasswordHash { var $itoa64; var $iteration_count_log2; var $portable_hashes; var $random_state; function PasswordHash($iteration_count_log2, $portable_hashes) { $this->itoa64 = './0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'; if ($iteration_count_log2 < 4 || $iteration_count_log2 > 31) $iteration_count_log2 = 8; $this->iteration_count_log2 = $iteration_count_log2; $this->portable_hashes = $portable_hashes; $this->random_state = microtime() . getmypid(); } function get_random_bytes($count) { $output = ''; if (is_readable('/dev/urandom') && ($fh = @fopen('/dev/urandom', 'rb'))) { $output = fread($fh, $count); fclose($fh); } if (strlen($output) < $count) { $output = ''; for ($i = 0; $i < $count; $i += 16) { $this->random_state = md5(microtime() . $this->random_state); $output .= pack('H*', md5($this->random_state)); } $output = substr($output, 0, $count); } return $output; } function encode64($input, $count) { $output = ''; $i = 0; do { $value = ord($input[$i++]); $output .= $this->itoa64[$value & 0x3f]; if ($i < $count) $value |= ord($input[$i]) << 8; $output .= $this->itoa64[($value >> 6) & 0x3f]; if ($i++ >= $count) break; if ($i < $count) $value |= ord($input[$i]) << 16; $output .= $this->itoa64[($value >> 12) & 0x3f]; if ($i++ >= $count) break; $output .= $this->itoa64[($value >> 18) & 0x3f]; } while ($i < $count); return $output; } function gensalt_private($input) { $output = '$P$'; $output .= $this->itoa64[min($this->iteration_count_log2 + ((PHP_VERSION >= '5') ? 5 : 3), 30)]; $output .= $this->encode64($input, 6); return $output; } function crypt_private($password, $setting) { $output = '*0'; if (substr($setting, 0, 2) == $output) $output = '*1'; if (substr($setting, 0, 3) != '$P$') return $output; $count_log2 = strpos($this->itoa64, $setting[3]); if ($count_log2 < 7 || $count_log2 > 30) return $output; $count = 1 << $count_log2; $salt = substr($setting, 4, 8); if (strlen($salt) != 8) return $output; # We're kind of forced to use MD5 here since it's the only # cryptographic primitive available in all versions of PHP # currently in use.   • HQL(hibernate) timestamp range match

    - by Saky
    I need to write a query to get an object between a range of time, currently the query looks like this: Timestamp from = ... Timestamp to = ... getHibernateTemplate().find("from " + Person.class.getName() + " ml where ml.lastModifiedOn>="+from.toString()+" and m1.lastModifiedOn<=" + to.toString()); However, this doesnot work for obvious reasons. How can I format the timestamp to be acceptable by the query. org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateQueryException: unexpected token: 16 near line 1, column 123 [from Person ml where ml.lastModifiedOn=2010-02-12 16:00:21.292 and m1.lastModifiedOn

  • send dbmail on @@error from sql server 2005

    - by Ved
    Hi, I am trying to send database mail when error occurs inside the transaction.My setup for dbo.sp_send_dbmail is correct , when I execute the proc I do get an email within 1 min. However when I try to use dbo.sp_send_dbmail inside another proc within transactions than I do not get the email. Sql server does show in the result window that "Mail queued" but I never receive it. BEGIN TRANSACTION DECLARE @err int DECLARE @test nvarchar(max) RAISERROR('This is a test', 16, 1) SELECT @err = @@ERROR IF @err < 0 BEGIN SET @test = error_message() EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_send_dbmail @recipients= '[email protected]', @body = 'test inside', @subject = 'Error with proc', @body_format = 'HTML', @append_query_error = 1, @profile_name ='Database Mail Profile'; ROLLBACK TRANSACTION RETURN END COMMIT TRANSACTION And I get result as Msg 50000, Level 16, State 1, Line 7 This is a test Mail queued.

  • Pentium Assembly Code Question

    - by leon
    Hi I am new to Pentium assembly programming. Could you check if I am doing the translation of C to assembly correctly? Condition: 32-bit addresses, 32 bit integers and 16 bit characters. char[5] vowels="aeiou"; Translate: vowels db "aeoiu" ; or should it be "vowels dw "aeoiu" ? How to access vowels[p]? Is it byte[vowels+p*2]? (since characters are 16 bit? ) Many thanks

  • IWebBrowser: How to specify the encoding when loading html from a stream?

    - by Ian Boyd
    Using the concepts from the sample code provided by Microsoft for loading HTML content into an IWebBrowser from an IStream using the web browser's IPersistStreamInit interface: HRESULT LoadWebBrowserFromStream(IWebBrowser* pWebBrowser, IStream* pStream) { [snip] } How can one specify the encoding of the html inside the IStream? The IStream will contain a series of bytes, but the problem is what do those bytes represent? They could, for example, contain bytes where: each byte represents a character from the current Windows code-page (e.g. 1252) each byte could represent a character from the ISO-8859-1 character set the bytes could represent UTF-8 encoded characters every 2 bytes could represent a character, using UTF-16 encoding In my particular case, i am providing the IWebBrowser an IStream that contains a series of double-bytes characters (UTF-16), but the browser (incorrectly) believes that UTF-8 encoding is in effect. This results in garbled characters.

  • Need some tips on my SQL script?

    - by Nano HE
    Hi I plan to create a tale to store the race result like this, Place RaceNumber Gender Name Result 12 0112 Male Mike Lee 1:32:40 16 0117 Female Rose Marry 2:20:40 I confused at the items type definiation. Q1.I am not sure the result can be set to varchar(32) or other type? Q2. and for racenumber, between int(11) and varchar(11), which one is better? Q3. Can I use `UNIQUE KEY` like my way? Q4. Do I need split name to firstName and lastName in my DB table? DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `race_result`; CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `race_result` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment, `racenumber` int(11) NOT NULL, `gender` enum('male','female') NOT NULL, `name` varchar(16) NOT NULL, `result` varchar(32) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`), UNIQUE KEY `racenumber` (`racenumber`,`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=3 DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 AUTO_INCREMENT=3;

  • How to create Query syntax for multiple DataTable for implementing IN operator of Sql Server

    - by Shantanu Gupta
    I have fetched 3-4 tables by executing my stored procedure. Now they resides on my dataset. I have to maintain this dataset for multiple forms and I am not doing any DML operation on this dataset. Now this dataset contains 4 tables out of which i have to fetch some records to display data. Data stored in tables are in form of one to many relationship. i.e. In case of transactions. N records per record. Then these N records are further mapped to M records of 3rd table. Table 1 MAP_ID GUEST_ID DEPARTMENT_ID PARENT_ID PREFERENCE_ID -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- 19 61 1 1 5 14 61 1 5 15 15 61 2 4 10 18 61 2 13 23 17 61 2 20 26 16 61 40 40 41 20 62 1 5 14 21 62 1 5 15 22 62 1 6 16 24 62 2 3 4 23 62 2 4 9 27 62 2 13 23 25 62 2 20 24 26 62 2 20 25 28 63 1 1 5 29 63 1 1 8 34 63 1 5 15 30 63 2 4 10 33 63 2 4 11 31 63 2 13 23 32 63 40 40 41 35 65 1 NULL 1 36 65 1 NULL 1 38 68 2 13 22 37 68 2 20 25 39 68 2 23 27 40 92 1 NULL 1 Table 2 Department_ID Department_Name Parent_Id Parent_Name -------------------- ----------------------- --------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 Food 1, 5, 6 Food, North Indian, South Indian 2 Lodging 3, 4, 13, 20, 23 Room, Floor, Non Air Conditioned, With Balcony, Without Balcony 40 New 40 SubNew TABLE 3 Parent_Id Parent_Name Preference_ID Preference_Name -------------------- ----------------------------------------------- ----------------------- ------------------- NULL NULL NULL NULL 1 Food 5, 8 North Indian, Italian 3 Room 4 Floor 4 Floor 9, 10, 11 First, Second, Third 5 North Indian 14, 15 X, Y 6 South Indian 16 Dosa 13 Non Air Conditioned 22, 23 With Balcony, Without Balcony 20 With Balcony 24, 25, 26 Mountain View, Ocean View, Garden View 23 Without Balcony 27 Mountain View 40 New 41 SubNew I have these 3 tables that are related in some fashion like this. Table 1 will be the master for these 2 tables i.e. table 2 and table 3. I need to query on them as SELECT Department_Id, Department_Name, Parent_Name FROM Table2 WHERE Department_Id in ( SELECT Department_Id FROM Table1 WHERE guest_id=65 ) SELECT Parent_Id, Parent_Name, Preference_Name FROM Table3 WHERE PARENT_ID in ( SELECT parent_id FROM Table1 WHERE guest_id=65 ) Now I need to use these queries on DataTables. So I am using Query Syntax for this and reached up to this point. var dept_list= from dept in DtMapGuestDepartment.AsEnumerable() where dept.Field<long>("PK_GUEST_ID")==long.Parse(63) select dept; This should give me the list of all departments that has guest id =63 Now I want to select all departments_name and parent_name from Table 2 where guest_id=63 i.e. departments that i fetched above. This same case will be followed for Table3. Please suggest how to do this. Thanks for keeping up patience for reading my question.

  • Setting WPF image source in code

    - by Torbjørn
    I'm trying to set a WPF image's source in code. The image is embedded as a resource in the project. By looking at examples I've come up with the below code. For some reason it doesn't work - the image does not show up. By debugging I can see that the stream contains the image data. So what's wrong? Assembly asm = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly(); Stream iconStream = asm.GetManifestResourceStream("SomeImage.png"); PngBitmapDecoder iconDecoder = new PngBitmapDecoder(iconStream, BitmapCreateOptions.PreservePixelFormat, BitmapCacheOption.Default); ImageSource iconSource = iconDecoder.Frames[0]; _icon.Source = iconSource; The icon is defined something like this: <Image x:Name="_icon" Width="16" Height="16" />

  • Sample the deltas between values using boost::accumulators

    - by Checkers
    I have a data set with N integers (say, 13, 16, 17, 20) where each next sample is incremented by some value (3, 1, 3 in this case) and I want to use boost::accumulators::accumulator_set to find various statistics of the second sequence. I want to be able to do something like this: accumulator_set< double, features< tag::mean > > acc; ... acc(13); acc(16); acc(17); acc(20); ...BUT sampling the differences instead of the actual values. How can I do that with accumulator_set without keeping track of the last value manually?

  • R glm standard error estimate differences to SAS PROC GENMOD

    - by Michelle
    I am converting a SAS PROC GENMOD example into R, using glm in R. The SAS code was: proc genmod data=data0 namelen=30; model boxcoxy=boxcoxxy ~ AGEGRP4 + AGEGRP5 + AGEGRP6 + AGEGRP7 + AGEGRP8 + RACE1 + RACE3 + WEEKEND + SEQ/dist=normal; FREQ REPLICATE_VAR; run; My R code is: parmsg2 <- glm(boxcoxxy ~ AGEGRP4 + AGEGRP5 + AGEGRP6 + AGEGRP7 + AGEGRP8 + RACE1 + RACE3 + WEEKEND + SEQ , data=data0, family=gaussian, weights = REPLICATE_VAR) When I use summary(parmsg2) I get the same coefficient estimates as in SAS, but my standard errors are wildly different. The summary output from SAS is: Name df Estimate StdErr LowerWaldCL UpperWaldCL ChiSq ProbChiSq Intercept 1 6.5007436 .00078884 6.4991975 6.5022897 67911982 0 agegrp4 1 .64607262 .00105425 .64400633 .64813891 375556.79 0 agegrp5 1 .4191395 .00089722 .41738099 .42089802 218233.76 0 agegrp6 1 -.22518765 .00083118 -.22681672 -.22355857 73401.113 0 agegrp7 1 -1.7445189 .00087569 -1.7462352 -1.7428026 3968762.2 0 agegrp8 1 -2.2908855 .00109766 -2.2930369 -2.2887342 4355849.4 0 race1 1 -.13454883 .00080672 -.13612997 -.13296769 27817.29 0 race3 1 -.20607036 .00070966 -.20746127 -.20467944 84319.131 0 weekend 1 .0327884 .00044731 .0319117 .03366511 5373.1931 0 seq2 1 -.47509583 .00047337 -.47602363 -.47416804 1007291.3 0 Scale 1 2.9328613 .00015586 2.9325559 2.9331668 -127 The summary output from R is: Coefficients: Estimate Std. I have found a formula to calculate the Wald confidence intervals in R, but this is pointless given the difference in the standard errors, as I will not get the same results. Apparently SAS uses a ridge-stabilized Newton-Raphson algorithm for its estimates, which are ML. The information I read about the glm function in R is that the results should be equivalent to ML. What can I do to change my estimation procedure in R so that I get the equivalent coefficents and standard error estimates that were produced in SAS? To update, thanks to Spacedman's answer, I used weights because the data are from individuals in a dietary survey, and REPLICATE_VAR is a balanced repeated replication weight, that is an integer (and quite large, in the order of 1000s or 10000s). The website that describes the weight is here. I don't know why the FREQ rather than the WEIGHT command was used in SAS. I will now test by expanding the number of observations using REPLICATE_VAR and rerunning the analysis.

[[[[[aTrack artworks] data_] set] to:value] send]; I get the following message in GDB: 2010-03-09 16:59:42.860 Sandbox[2260:a0f] Can't pack object of class NSImage (unsupported type): <NSImage 0x10054a440 Size={0, 0} Reps=( I then tried the following code: NSData *imageData = [[NSData alloc] initWithData:[value TIFFRepresentation]]; [[[[[aTrack artworks] data_] set] to:imageData] send]; and get this message instead 2010-03-09 16:46:09.341 Sandbox[2193:a0f] Can't pack object of class NSConcreteData (unsupported type): <4d4d002a 00000000> In the AppScript documentation, it says that the "data" property of the "artwork" item is a PICTPicture image. How do I convert an NSImage to a PICT? Am I using the AppScript all wrong?

  • How to make awkward pivot of sql table in MS SQL Server 2005?

    - by Oliver
    I have to rotate a given table from an sql server but a normal pivot just doesn't work (as far as i tried). So has anybody an idea how to rotate the table into the desired format? Just to make the problem more complicated, the list of given labels can vary and it is possible that a new label name can come into at any given time. Given Data ID | Label | Numerator | Denominator | Ratio ---+-----------------+-------------+---------------+-------- 1 | LabelNameOne | 41 | 10 | 4,1 1 | LabelNameTwo | 0 | 0 | 0 1 | LabelNameThree | 21 | 10 | 2,1 1 | LabelNameFour | 15 | 10 | 1,5 2 | LabelNameOne | 19 | 19 | 1 2 | LabelNameTwo | 0 | 0 | 0 2 | LabelNameThree | 15 | 16 | 0,9375 2 | LabelNameFive | 19 | 19 | 1 2 | LabelNameSix | 17 | 17 | 1 3 | LabelNameOne | 12 | 12 | 1 3 | LabelNameTwo | 0 | 0 | 0 3 | LabelNameThree | 11 | 12 | 0,9167 3 | LabelNameFour | 12 | 12 | 1 3 | LabelNameSix | 0 | 1 | 0 Wanted result ID | ValueType | LabelNameOne | LabelNameTwo | LabelNameThree | LabelNameFour | LabelNameFive | LabelNameSix ---+-------------+--------------+--------------+----------------+---------------+---------------+-------------- 1 | Numerator | 41 | 0 | 21 | 15 | | 1 | Denominator | 10 | 0 | 10 | 10 | | 1 | Ratio | 4,1 | 0 | 2,1 | 1,5 | | 2 | Numerator | 19 | 0 | 15 | | 19 | 17 2 | Denominator | 19 | 0 | 16 | | 19 | 17 2 | Ratio | 1 | 0 | 0,9375 | | 1 | 1 3 | Numerator | 12 | 0 | 11 | 12 | | 0 3 | Denominator | 12 | 0 | 12 | 12 | | 1 3 | Ratio | 1 | 0 | 0,9167 | 1 | | 0

  • How does this method give me a -61 Error?

    - by prestonmarshall
    This is in an application I am using called Mirth, but it appears to be coming from inside an Apache Commons library from a method that checks if something is indeed Base64 encoded or not. All of the docs say the only return is true or false, so how am I getting -61? -61 org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64.isBase64(Base64.java:137) org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64.discardNonBase64(Base64.java:478) org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64.decodeBase64(Base64.java:374) org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64.decode(Base64.java:220) com.webreach.mirth.plugins.pdfviewer.PDFViewer.viewAttachments(PDFViewer.java:51) com.webreach.mirth.client.ui.browsers.message.MessageBrowser$16.doInBackground(MessageBrowser.java:1429) com.webreach.mirth.client.ui.browsers.message.MessageBrowser$16.doInBackground(MessageBrowser.java:1426) org.jdesktop.swingworker.SwingWorker$1.call(SwingWorker.java:276) java.util.concurrent.FutureTask$Sync.innerRun(FutureTask.java:303) java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.run(FutureTask.java:138) org.jdesktop.swingworker.SwingWorker.run(SwingWorker.java:315) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:886) java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:908) java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:637)

  • Confusion testing fftw3 - poisson equation 2d test

    - by user3699736
    I am having trouble explaining/understanding the following phenomenon: To test fftw3 i am using the 2d poisson test case: laplacian(f(x,y)) = - g(x,y) with periodic boundary conditions. After applying the fourier transform to the equation we obtain : F(kx,ky) = G(kx,ky) /(kx² + ky²) (1) if i take g(x,y) = sin (x) + sin(y) , (x,y) \in [0,2 \pi] i have immediately f(x,y) = g(x,y) which is what i am trying to obtain with the fft : i compute G from g with a forward Fourier transform From this i can compute the Fourier transform of f with (1). Finally, i compute f with the backward Fourier transform (without forgetting to normalize by 1/(nx*ny)). In practice, the results are pretty bad? (For instance, the amplitude for N = 256 is twice the amplitude obtained with N = 512) Even worse, if i try g(x,y) = sin(x)*sin(y) , the curve has not even the same form of the solution. (note that i must change the equation; i divide by two the laplacian in this case : (1) becomes F(kx,ky) = 2*G(kx,ky)/(kx²+ky²) Here is the code: /* * fftw test -- double precision */ #include <iostream> #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <math.h> #include <fftw3.h> using namespace std; int main() { int N = 128; int i, j ; double pi = 3.14159265359; double *X, *Y ; X = (double*) malloc(N*sizeof(double)); Y = (double*) malloc(N*sizeof(double)); fftw_complex *out1, *in2, *out2, *in1; fftw_plan p1, p2; double L = 2.*pi; double dx = L/((N - 1)*1.0); in1 = (fftw_complex*) fftw_malloc(sizeof(fftw_complex)*(N*N) ); out2 = (fftw_complex*) fftw_malloc(sizeof(fftw_complex)*(N*N) ); out1 = (fftw_complex*) fftw_malloc(sizeof(fftw_complex)*(N*N) ); in2 = (fftw_complex*) fftw_malloc(sizeof(fftw_complex)*(N*N) ); p1 = fftw_plan_dft_2d(N, N, in1, out1, FFTW_FORWARD,FFTW_MEASURE ); p2 = fftw_plan_dft_2d(N, N, in2, out2, FFTW_BACKWARD,FFTW_MEASURE); for(i = 0; i < N; i++){ X[i] = -pi + (i*1.0)*2.*pi/((N - 1)*1.0) ; for(j = 0; j < N; j++){ Y[j] = -pi + (j*1.0)*2.*pi/((N - 1)*1.0) ; in1[i*N + j][0] = sin(X[i]) + sin(Y[j]) ; // row major ordering //in1[i*N + j][0] = sin(X[i]) * sin(Y[j]) ; // 2nd test case in1[i*N + j][1] = 0 ; } } fftw_execute(p1); // FFT forward for ( i = 0; i < N; i++){ // f = g / ( kx² + ky² ) for( j = 0; j < N; j++){ in2[i*N + j][0] = out1[i*N + j][0]/ (i*i+j*j+1e-16); in2[i*N + j][1] = out1[i*N + j][1]/ (i*i+j*j+1e-16); //in2[i*N + j][0] = 2*out1[i*N + j][0]/ (i*i+j*j+1e-16); // 2nd test case //in2[i*N + j][1] = 2*out1[i*N + j][1]/ (i*i+j*j+1e-16); } } fftw_execute(p2); //FFT backward // checking the results computed double erl1 = 0.; for ( i = 0; i < N; i++) { for( j = 0; j < N; j++){ erl1 += fabs( in1[i*N + j][0] - out2[i*N + j][0]/N/N )*dx*dx; cout<< i <<" "<< j<<" "<< sin(X[i])+sin(Y[j])<<" "<< out2[i*N+j][0]/N/N <<" "<< endl; // > output } } cout<< erl1 << endl ; // L1 error fftw_destroy_plan(p1); fftw_destroy_plan(p2); fftw_free(out1); fftw_free(out2); fftw_free(in1); fftw_free(in2); return 0; } I can't find any (more) mistakes in my code (i installed the fftw3 library last week) and i don't see a problem with the maths either but i don't think it's the fft's fault. Hence my predicament. I am all out of ideas and all out of google as well. Any help solving this puzzle would be greatly appreciated. note : compiling : g++ test.cpp -lfftw3 -lm executing : ./a.out output and i use gnuplot in order to plot the curves : (in gnuplot ) splot "output" u 1:2:4 ( for the computed solution )

  • iPhone current user location coordinates showing as (0,0)

    - by ennuikiller
    I'm trying to get the users current latitude and longitude with this viewDidLoad method. The resulting map is correctly indicating the current location however the NSLog consistently shows: 2009-09-19 16:45:29.765 Mapper[671:207] user latitude = 0.000000 2009-09-19 16:45:29.772 Mapper[671:207] user longitude = 0.000000 Anyone know what I am missing here? Thanks in advance for your help! - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [mapView setMapType:MKMapTypeStandard]; [mapView setZoomEnabled:YES]; [mapView setScrollEnabled:YES]; [mapView setShowsUserLocation:YES]; CLLocation *userLoc = mapView.userLocation.location; CLLocationCoordinate2D userCoordinate = userLoc.coordinate; NSLog(@"user latitude = %f",userCoordinate.latitude); NSLog(@"user longitude = %f",userCoordinate.longitude); }
