• How do I set a single virtual directory of my web app to not inherit web.config?

  I have a virtual directory setup in one of my web apps that needs to not inherit the web.config of the main app so it can run on it's own. I am wondering how I can do this because right now when I hit it (mainwebapp.domain.com/virdir) it throws an error saying it can't find some dependencies that are listed in the main apps web.config (shows main app web.config in the error message), this virdir contains it's own little app that needs to just run standalone.

• MVC Partial View Postback - Jquery validation lost

  I have a partial view which uses Jquery Valiation. This works OK when initially loaded, however after I do a ajax postback and return the partial view from the server with an error showing, the jquery validation seems to be lost. In that, if I delete a required field and hit save the partial view gets submitted, when I would expect it to show an error message and not get submitted. Does Jquery validation need to be initialised somehow for the form in the partial view?

  I've heard that OpenGL ES and standard iPhone UI controls don't play well together, but I'm wondering if anyone knows why, and what the effects are? I'm writing an OpenGL based game, and the view is loaded from a nib file with ui controls, and it seems to work ok, but the game is really simple at this point... does using ui controls cause some kind of performance hit?

• Animate a GIF using Core Animation layers?

  I'm trying to animate a GIF and I hit a roadblock. I have an example of what I'm trying to do that uses the individual frames of the GIF and setting the animationImages property of a UIView. However in my project, the thing I want to animate is drawn using Layers. I'm looking for a quick and easy way to animate the frames without introducing too much complexity. Is there any animationImages equivalent with Layers? Does anybody have any ideas?

• Blank source file. How can I decompile the .exe? [closed]

When i came back, the cpp file wouldn't open through visual studio, I have the exe and object files.   Hey guys, I'm working on tile collision. Currently, I just draw the tile map the normal way (two for loops) and there is no scrolling. Right now, to check if my player is over a tile, I use tileX = (int)person1v.X / 16; tileY = (int)person1v.Y / 16; However, I want to detect collision before I hit the tile so it could act as a wall. How do I detect collision before even making the move?

  Hi, for a PerCall WCF service whose throttling has been set to be high (say, 200 max concurrent calls) would WCF bring up a new instance and invoke the request on a threadpool thread? If it does, then does this have an impact on the total number of concurrent calls allowed? I ask because I don't seem to ever hit the max number of concurrent calls I've set in the service throttling config but instead a fraction of that number - up to 50 on a 100 MaxConcurrentCalls setting and 160 on a 200 MaxConcurrentCalls setting.   I am passing in command line arguments to my Lisp program and they are formatted like this when they hit my main function: ("1 1 1" "dot" "2 2 2") I have a dot function and would like to call it directly from the argument, but first I must strip the " characters. I tried variations of this function: (defun remove-quotes (s) (setf (aref s 0) '"")) to no avail, Lisp complains that "" is not a member of base-char. Thanks!

As I understand it, Mobile Safari only supports SVG fonts, but my testing has show Mobile Safari to really struggle with SVG and the performance hit is a serious issue. So... is it possible to put fonts in the App Bundle and somehow make them available to the webview?

  I'm trying to do clean urls by exploding $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] and then switching between the results. However, once a user goes outside index.php, I'm assuming I need to redirect them back to index.php in order to process the URL they want to reach. How can I accomplish this? So for instance, user goes to www.domain.com/home/johndoe/... i'd like the index.php (domain.com/index.php) to be hit so that it can process the /home/johndoe/ via request_uri.

• Double request from mod-rewrite

  I've written a module that sets Apache environment variables to be used by mod-rewrite. It hooks into ap_hook_post_read_request() and that works fine, but if mod-rewrite matches a RewriteRule then it makes a second call to my request handler with the rewritten URL. This looks like a new request to me in that the environment variables are no longer set and therefore I have to execute my (expensive) code twice for each hit. What am I doing wrong, or is there a work around for this? Thanks

The temp user table would allow logging and potentially be less of a hit on the server correct? Is there a best practice here?
