  • Porting getifaddrs to Win XP

    Hi all, I'm trying to port a MacOSX app to windows and I've come up against a problem around getifaddrs. Basically windows does not support it. I'm trying to figure a way to re-implement it (for AF_INET and AF_INET6) but the "equivalent" functionality on windows appears to be nothing like the MacOSX support. Has someone done this sort of conversion before? If so is there a nice way I can get windows to report me interface info like MacOSX does?

    I found an example in the VS2008 Examples for Dynamic LINQ that allows you to use a sql-like string (e.g. OrderBy("Name, Age DESC")) for ordering. Unfortunately, the method included only works on IQueryable<T>. Is there any way to get this functionality on IEnumerable<T>?

    Hi, there probably isn't an answer to this apart from "Create it yourself", but you never know, there might be some string representation for this. Basically, I would like to display number values as fractional instead of decimal when displaying the values as a string. Instead of a value displaying as: 1.1428571428571428571428571428571 I would prefer it to display as 8/7 Is there any way of doing this without writing the functionality myself? Regards Lloyd

But I wonder if anyone has already packaged up this functionality as a plugin. Basically, I have a few delayed_jobs running, and am looking for a plugin that will poll the server for completion of a particular job, then activate a callback when it finds that the job is complete. Following are the things I have in mind: 1) use high level scripting language like python or perl instead of shell script for a more comprehensive functionality and error handling 2) check that the file exists at the destination after FTP 3) check destination file size. This is a little bit difficult because file size will change if the source and destination are running different OS. Any tips on how to go about this?
