  • Check if UINavigationItem title is truncated

    - by PartiallyFinite
    I want to check whether the title of a UINavigationItem is truncated. I set the title like this: self.navigationItem.title = whatever. I know I can check if the text in a UILabel is truncated like this: CGSize size = [label.text sizeWithFont:[UIFont fontWithName:@"myfont" size:18.0]]; if (size.width > label.bounds.size.width) { // set a shorter title } And I can even find the UINavigationItemView object in which the title is displayed like so: UIView *navItemView; for (UIView *view in self.navigationController.navigationBar.subviews) { if ([view isKindOfClass:NSClassFromString(@"UINavigationItemView")]) { navItemView = view; } } But I cannot apply this method to the navItemView because is always seems to have a width of exactly 58, which is much less than the title in it, so according to that, it would appear that the title is truncated, even when it isn't. So, my question comes down to this: How do I find the width of the title displayed in the UINavigationItem? UPDATE: I have found a solution to my problem, but it isn't exactly ideal, perfect, or reliable, so I am not marking it as an answer yet. If anyone has any better solutions, please share them.

  • How to set parameters of CGContextAddArcToPoint method using a slider

    - by Manish Sahni
    am making an app in which i have to control a smile of a face like graphics. For example if i slide the slider down(to a value less than middle) it should give the arc a sad face(like :-( ) effect and if i slide the slider up the arc should give the effect of smile(like :-) ).initially lips are like :-| . I need to control the lips which is an arc using a slider? smileSliderViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface smileSliderViewController : UIViewController { IBOutlet UISlider *slider; } -(IBAction)valueChange:(id)sender; @end smileSliderViewController.m #import "smileSliderViewController.h" //#import "smile.h" @implementation smileSliderViewController -(IBAction)valueChange:(id)sender { int value = (int)(slider.value); if(value>0 && value<25) { //value--; CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGContextSetLineWidth(context, 2.0); CGColorSpaceRef colorspace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); CGFloat components[] = {0.0,0.0,1.0,1.0}; CGColorRef color = CGColorCreate(colorspace, components); CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context, color); CGContextMoveToPoint(context, 120,180); CGContextAddArcToPoint(context, 190 , 170, 270, 200, 0 ); CGContextStrokePath(context); } } smile.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "smile.m" @interface smile : UIView { IBOutlet UISlider *slider; } @end smile.m #import "smile.h" #import "smileSliderViewController.h" @implementation smile - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if (self = [super initWithFrame:frame]) { // Initialization code } return self; } - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGContextSetLineWidth(context, 2.0); //CGContextSetStrokeColor(context, [UIColor redColor].CGColor); CGColorSpaceRef colorspace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); CGFloat components[] = {0.0,0.0,1.0,1.0}; CGColorRef color = CGColorCreate(colorspace, components); CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context, color); CGRect rectangle = CGRectMake(60, 20, 200,200); CGContextAddEllipseInRect(context, rectangle); CGContextStrokePath(context); /*CGRect rectangle1 = CGRectMake(130,170,50,10); CGContextAddRect(context,rectangle1); CGContextStrokePath(context);*/ /*CGContextMoveToPoint(context,100,200); CGContextAddArcToPoint(context,120,150,400,150,70 ); CGContextStrokePath(context);*/ /*CGContextMoveToPoint(context, 100,100); CGContextAddArcToPoint(context, -100,200, -400,200, 80); CGContextStrokePath(context);*/ CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context,color); CGRect rectangle2 = CGRectMake(80, 90, 50, 8); CGContextAddEllipseInRect(context, rectangle2); CGContextStrokePath(context); CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context,color); CGRect rectangle3 = CGRectMake(180, 90, 50, 8); CGContextAddEllipseInRect(context, rectangle3); CGContextStrokePath(context); CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context,color); CGContextMoveToPoint(context, 155,120); CGContextAddLineToPoint(context, 155,160); CGContextStrokePath(context); /*CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context, color); CGRect rectangle4 = CGRectMake(130, 180, 50,8); CGContextAddEllipseInRect(context, rectangle4); CGContextStrokePath(context);*/ /*CGContextSetStrokeColorWithColor(context,color); CGContextMoveToPoint(context, 120,180); CGContextAddLineToPoint(context, 190,180); CGContextStrokePath(context);*/ int value = (int)(slider.value); if(value == 25) { CGContextMoveToPoint(context, 120,180); CGContextAddArcToPoint(context, 190 , 180, 250 , 180, 0 ); CGContextStrokePath(context); } }

  • Comparing UIColors or CGColor or CGColorSpace

    - by wiznaibus
    I'm having an issue comparing UIColors. I have an image, which I have successfully extracted the color on the image at which the user clicked. Now I want to compare that color with other colors, but I'm getting some strange results. Here's what I've tried: CGColorRef pixelColor = [[buttonImage colorAtPixel:point] CGColor]; UIColor* color = [UIColor colorWithCGColor:pixelColor]; UIColor* aqua = [UIColor colorWithRed:0.521569 green:0.768627 blue:0.254902 alpha:1]; if (CGColorEqualToColor(color.CGColor, aqua.CGColor)) { DLog(@"Apparently, it works"); } DLog(@"%@", color.CGColor); DLog(@"%@", aqua.CGColor); Output: 2011-05-21 19:48:27.144 Coffee[66860:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d1eb80> [<CGColorSpace 0x4d1a070> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 ) 2011-05-21 19:48:27.145 Coffee[66860:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d1f750> [<CGColorSpace 0x4d1a070> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 ) It looks like the CGColor addresses are different, but the CGColorSpaces are the same, but I can't figure out how to compare the CGColorSpaces I've also tried this: CGColorRef pixelColor = [[buttonImage colorAtPixel:point] CGColor]; UIColor* color = [UIColor colorWithCGColor:pixelColor]; UIColor* aqua = [UIColor colorWithRed:0.521569 green:0.768627 blue:0.254902 alpha:1]; if ([color isEqual:aqua]) { DLog(@"Apparently, it works"); } DLog(@"%@", color.CGColor); DLog(@"%@", aqua.CGColor); The same silliness occurs. 2011-05-21 20:02:49.277 Coffee[67013:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d3b810> [<CGColorSpace 0x5912010> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 ) 2011-05-21 20:02:49.278 Coffee[67013:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d3ba20> [<CGColorSpace 0x5912010> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 )`

  • Application lifecycle and onCreate method in the the android sdk

    - by Leif Andersen
    I slapped together a simple test application that has a button, and makes a noise when the user clicks on it. Here are it's method: @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); Button b = (Button)findViewById(R.id.easy); b.setOnClickListener(this); } public void onClick(View v) { MediaPlayer mp = MediaPlayer.create(this, R.raw.easy); mp.start(); while(true) { if (!mp.isPlaying()) { mp.release(); break; } } } My question is, why is onCreate acting like it's in a while loop? I can click on the button whenever, and it makes the sound. I might think it was just a property of listeners, but the Button object wasn't a member variable. I thought that Android would just go through onCreate onse, and proceed onto the next lifecycle method. Also, I know that my current way of seeing if the sound is playing is crap...I'll get to that later. :) Thank you.

  • Jwplayer 6: html5 fullscreen when video clicked to play

    - by caaruiz
    I want to be able to use jwplayer so that when the user clicks on the video the video will start to play in fullscreen mode. I want this functionality to work on mobile devices that support html5. If the video is played on a mobile device it will take up the whole screen. Youtube and Vimeo currently do this on mobile devices. The Link Below uses Html5 video tag, which plays in fullscreen on mobile device when the video is clicked on. The only way I that I know that jwplayer allows fullscreen is that I manually click on the fullscreen button, but it would be nice to only click on the video to trigger the video to play in full screen.

  • What's wrong with how I'm using NSDateFormatter?

    dateFormatter = [[NSDateFormatter alloc] init]; dateFormatter.locale = [[[NSLocale alloc] initWithLocaleIdentifier:@"en_US"] autorelease]; [dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"EEE, d MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss zzz"]; NSString dateString = @"Tue, 08 Jun 2010 17:00:00 EDT"; NSDate eventDate = [dateFormatter dateFromString:dateString]; In this case the eventDate object is nil. Can somebody clue me in? This code used to work.

  • random generator to obtain data from array not displaying

    - by Yang Jie Domodomo
    I know theres a better solution using arc4random (it's on my to-try-out-function list), but I wanted to try out using the rand() and stand(time(NULL)) function first. I've created a NSMutableArray and chuck it with 5 data. Testing out how many number it has was fine. But when I tried to use the button function to load the object it return me with object <sampleData: 0x9a2f0e0> - (IBAction)generateNumber:(id)sender { srand(time(NULL)); NSInteger number =rand()% ds.count ; label.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"object %@", [ds objectAtIndex:number] ]; NSLog(@"%@",label.text); } While I feel the main cause is the method itself, I've paste the rest of the code below just incase i made any error somewhere. ViewController.h #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "sampleData.h" #import "sampleDataDAO.h" @interface ViewController : UIViewController @property (weak, nonatomic) IBOutlet UILabel *label; @property (weak, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIButton *onHitMePressed; - (IBAction)generateNumber:(id)sender; @property(nonatomic, strong) sampleDataDAO *daoDS; @property(nonatomic, strong) NSMutableArray *ds; @end ViewController.m #import "ViewController.h" @interface ViewController () @end @implementation ViewController @synthesize label; @synthesize onHitMePressed; @synthesize daoDS,ds; - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; daoDS = [[sampleDataDAO alloc] init]; self.ds = daoDS.PopulateDataSource; // Do any additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. } - (void)viewDidUnload { [self setLabel:nil]; [self setOnHitMePressed:nil]; [super viewDidUnload]; // Release any retained subviews of the main view. } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { return (interfaceOrientation != UIInterfaceOrientationPortraitUpsideDown); } - (IBAction)generateNumber:(id)sender { srand(time(NULL)); NSInteger number =rand()% ds.count ; label.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"object %@", [ds objectAtIndex:number] ]; NSLog(@"%@",label.text); } @end sampleData.h #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> @interface sampleData : NSObject @property (strong,nonatomic) NSString * object; @end sampleData.m #import "sampleData.h" @implementation sampleData @synthesize object; @end sampleDataDAO.h #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import "sampleData.h" @interface sampleDataDAO : NSObject @property(strong,nonatomic)NSMutableArray*someDataArray; -(NSMutableArray *)PopulateDataSource; @end sampleDataDAO.m #import "sampleDataDAO.h" @implementation sampleDataDAO @synthesize someDataArray; -(NSMutableArray *)PopulateDataSource { someDataArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc]init]; sampleData * myData = [[sampleData alloc]init]; myData.object= @"object 1"; [someDataArray addObject:myData]; myData=nil; myData = [[sampleData alloc] init]; myData.object= @"object 2"; [someDataArray addObject:myData]; myData=nil; myData = [[sampleData alloc] init]; myData.object= @"object 3"; [someDataArray addObject:myData]; myData=nil; myData = [[sampleData alloc] init]; myData.object= @"object 4"; [someDataArray addObject:myData]; myData=nil; myData = [[sampleData alloc] init]; myData.object= @"object 5"; [someDataArray addObject:myData]; myData=nil; return someDataArray; } @end

  • Not able to compile ActionScript from Java SDK

    - by Heang S.
    I was reading the Flex Compiler API User Guide at http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/compilerAPI_flex3.pdf and tried to follow the example to create a Java application to compile a Flex application. Here is my program: import flex2.tools.oem.Application; import java.io.*; public class MyAppCompiler { public static void main(String[] args) { try { Application application = new Application( new File("../apps/TestApp.mxml")); application.setOutput(new File("../apps/TestApp.swf")); long result = application.build(true); if (result 0) System.out.println("Compile Success"); else System.out.println("Compile Failed"); } catch (Exception ex){ ex.printStackTrace(); } } } Unfortunately, I get "java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError" on the very first line. Internally, the error appears to be on the following line: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError at myApps.MyAppCompiler.main(MyAppCompiler.java:9) Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at flex2.tools.oem.Application. (Application.java:184) I am using Eclipse 3.3. However, I see the problem when I run my program either from Eclipse or from a command line. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Xcode 4.2 how include one project into another one?

    - by Alex Stone
    I keep searching, but cannot find a clear and simple explanation on how to include one XCode project, along with all of it's sub-classes into another project. I routinely see stuff like that in sample projects that I download off the web, but do not know how to do this myself. Within XCode, along with .h and .m files, and folders, there's a whole new project, starting with a blue xcode project icon, that is expandable to contain everything within the project. Please, can someone explain to me step by step what do I need to do to add one XCode project into another one? I've seen a ton of one liners like "header search paths", but that does not tell me much. UPDATE: After re-reading the documentation, I realized that the project to include must be dragged ONTO the BLUE project icon of the parent project. Regular sources can be dragged anywhere, but a project must be dragged onto a project. Thank you!

  • Problem with the dateformatter's in Iphone sdk.

    - by monish
    Hi guys, Here I had a problem with the date formatters actually I had an option to search events based on the date.for this Im comparing the date with the date store in the database and getting the event based on the date for this I wrote the code as follows: -(NSMutableArray*)getSearchAllLists:(EventsList*)aEvent { [searchList removeAllObjects]; EventsList *searchEvent = nil; const char* sql; NSString *conditionStr = @" where "; if([aEvent.eventName length] > 0) { NSString *str = @"'%"; str = [str stringByAppendingString:aEvent.eventName]; str = [str stringByAppendingString:@"%'"]; conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@" eventName like %s",[str UTF8String]]]; } if([aEvent.eventWineName length]>0) { NSString *str = @"'%"; str = [str stringByAppendingString:aEvent.eventWineName]; str = [str stringByAppendingString:@"%'"]; if([aEvent.eventName length]>0) { conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@" and (wineName like %s)",[str UTF8String]]]; } else { conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"wineName like %s",[str UTF8String]]]; } } if([aEvent.eventVariety length]>0) { NSString *str = @"'%"; str = [str stringByAppendingString:aEvent.eventVariety]; str = [str stringByAppendingString:@"%'"]; if([aEvent.eventName length]>0 || [aEvent.eventWineName length]>0) { conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@" and (variety like %s)",[str UTF8String]]]; } else { conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"variety like %s" ,[str UTF8String]]]; } } if([aEvent.eventWinery length]>0) { NSString *str = @"'%"; str = [str stringByAppendingString:aEvent.eventWinery]; str = [str stringByAppendingString:@"%'"]; if([aEvent.eventName length]>0 || [aEvent.eventWineName length]>0 || [aEvent.eventVariety length]>0) { conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@" and (winery like %s)",[str UTF8String]]]; } else { conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"winery like %s" ,[str UTF8String]]]; } } if(aEvent.eventRatings >0) { if([aEvent.eventName length]>0 || [aEvent.eventWineName length]>0 || [aEvent.eventWinery length]>0 || [aEvent.eventVariety length]>0) { conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@" and ratings = %d",aEvent.eventRatings]]; } else { conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@" ratings = %d",aEvent.eventRatings]]; } } if(aEvent.eventDate >0) { NSDateFormatter *dateFormatter = [[NSDateFormatter alloc]init]; [dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"dd-MMM-yy 23:59:59"]; NSString *dateStr = [dateFormatter stringFromDate:aEvent.eventDate]; NSDate *date = [dateFormatter dateFromString:dateStr]; [dateFormatter release]; NSTimeInterval interval = [date timeIntervalSinceReferenceDate]; printf("\n Interval in advance search:%f",interval); if([aEvent.eventName length]>0 || [aEvent.eventWineName length]>0 || [aEvent.eventWinery length]>0 || aEvent.eventRatings>0 || [aEvent.eventVariety length]>0) { conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@" and eventDate = %f",interval]]; } else { conditionStr = [conditionStr stringByAppendingString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@" eventDate = %f",interval]]; } } NSString* queryString= @" select * from event"; queryString = [queryString stringByAppendingString:conditionStr]; sqlite3_stmt* statement; sql = (char*)[queryString UTF8String]; if (sqlite3_prepare_v2(database, sql, -1, &statement, NULL) != SQLITE_OK) { NSAssert1(0, @"Error: failed to prepare statement with message '%s'.", sqlite3_errmsg(database)); } sqlite3_bind_text(statement, 1, [aEvent.eventName UTF8String], -1, SQLITE_TRANSIENT); sqlite3_bind_text(statement, 2, [aEvent.eventWineName UTF8String], -1, SQLITE_TRANSIENT); sqlite3_bind_text(statement, 3, [aEvent.eventVariety UTF8String], -1, SQLITE_TRANSIENT); sqlite3_bind_text(statement, 4, [aEvent.eventWinery UTF8String], -1, SQLITE_TRANSIENT); sqlite3_bind_int(statement, 5,aEvent.eventRatings); sqlite3_bind_double(statement,6, [[aEvent eventDate] timeIntervalSinceReferenceDate]); while (sqlite3_step(statement) == SQLITE_ROW) { primaryKey = sqlite3_column_int(statement, 0); searchEvent = [[EventsList alloc] initWithPrimaryKey:primaryKey database:database]; [searchList addObject:searchEvent]; [searchEvent release]; } sqlite3_finalize(statement); return searchList; } Here I compared the interval value in the database and the date we are searching and Im getting the different values and results were not found. Guy's help me to get rid of this. Anyone's help will be much appreciated. Thank you Monish Calapatapu.

  • How do I blur (ios7 style) a section of an image in a UITableViewCell?

    - by George McKibbin
    I've got a UIImageView that takes up the whole cell and shows an image. I'd like to blur the bottom third of the view in the iOS7 style (we're targeting iOS7). There will be a label over the blurred part. The issue seems to be that I can't "screenshot" the UIImageView right as I am setting up the cell in tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath: as it hasn't loaded yet. Although i've even tried setting up a timer for a 0.1 second delay and that also doesn't work. I've tried the stuff on http://damir.me/posts/ios7-blurring-techniques I've tried https://github.com/justinmfischer/7blur I'd like to use the new screenshotting API drawViewHierarchyInRect:afterScreenUpdates: I'd also like to use apple's sample code UIImage+ImageEffects The only thing that has worked so far has been to just put a UIToolbar in but the performance is really slow. I don't need dynamic updates. I've managed to get the following effect a few times but it has just tinted the view and hasn't actually blurred anything so I'm a bit confused.

  • app burns numbers into iPad screens, how can I prevent this?

    - by Andrew Johnson
    EDIT: My code for this is actually open source, if anyone would be able to look and comment. Things I can think of that might be an issue: using a custom font, using bright green, updating the label too fast? The repo is: https://github.com/andrewljohnson/StopWatch-of-Gaia The class for the time label: https://github.com/andrewljohnson/StopWatch-of-Gaia/blob/master/src/SWPTimeLabel.m The class that runs the timer to update the label: https://github.com/andrewljohnson/StopWatch-of-Gaia/blob/master/src/SWPViewController.m ============= My StopWatch app reportedly screen burns a number of iPads, for temporary periods. Does anyone have a suggestion about how I might prevent this screen persistence? Some known workaround to blank the pixels occasionally? I get emails all the time about it, and you can see numerous reviews here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/stopwatch+-timer-for-gym-kitchen/id518178439?mt=8 Apple can not advise me. I sent an email to appreview, and I was told to file a technical support request (DTS). When I filled the DTS, they told me it was not a code issue, and when I further asked for help from DTS, a "senior manager" told me that this was not an issue Apple knew about. He further advised me to file a bug with the Apple Radar bug tracker if I considered it to be a real issue. I filed the Radar bug a few weeks ago, but it has not been acknowledged. Updated radar link for Apple employees, per commenter's notes rdar://12173447

  • Calculate NSString size to adjust UITextField frame

    - by Bernd Plontsch
    I have issues calculating the accurate size of a NSString displayed in a UITextField. My goal is to update the textfield frame size according to the string size programmatically (without using sizeToFit). I am using the sizeWithFont function. -(void)resizeTextFieldAccordingToText:(NSString*)textFieldString { CGPoint originalCenter = self.textField.center; UIFont* currentFont = [textField font]; CGSize newSize = [textFieldString sizeWithFont:currentFont]; //Same incorrect results with the extended version of sizeWithFont, e.g. //[textFieldString sizeWithFont:currentFont constrainedToSize:CGSizeMake(300.0, 100.0) lineBreakMode:NSLineBreakByClipping]; [self.textField setFrame:(CGRectMake(self.textField.frame.origin.x, self.textField.frame.origin.y, newSize.width, newSize.height))]; [self.textField setCenter:originalCenter]; } Problem: While this return correct size results at first its becomes more and more unprecise by adding characters therefore finally starts clipping the string (as seen in the right screenshot). How do I get the accurate size of the textField string for correctly adjusting its size?

  • Decoration View *above* cells in UICollectionView

    - by Dhiraj Gupta
    I've got a decoration view showing the way I want, in my UICollectionView. The position and size is right. The decoration view stays at the frame I'm setting for it in my layout. But, I want the decoration view to be above the cells, not below them. I tried setting the zIndex property on the UICollectionViewLayoutAttributes for the decoration view, but this has no effect - I tried logging out the zindex of the cells, and they're all returning 0, and my decoration view's zIndex is set to 20. I'm guessing having decoration views above the cells is not supported, at least in UICollectionViewFlowLayout? Someone please confirm this, thanks! In the meantime, I'm going back to having a custom UIView subclass as a subview in the parent controller of the collection view and laying out the frame of it in the - (void) viewWillLayoutSubviews() method.

  • Speed up dialog/page transitions in jQuery Mobile on iPhone?

    - by Crashalot
    There are other SO questions on speeding up jQuery Mobile for Android, but does anyone know how to accelerate page transitions on iPhones, specifically dialog transitions? We're on JQM 1.0. JQM 1.1 is supposed to speed up page transitions (though we haven't seen any demos yet), but we're wondering if anyone has done anything for JQM 1.0. Right now, there is a two second delay, which is too much to show a dialog. We resort to one of two options. Using no animation for the page transition, which provides instant feedback, or rolling our own by binding to "touchstart" and animating the dialog, which is really just a big DIV inside the current page. Neither is ideal. Suggestions?

  • Adding AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute To Paypal ASP.NET SDK

    - by snwr
    Currently, I cannot use Paypal Pro on my host (GoDaddy) because it requires Full trust level. After digging in Google, it seems a workaround is possible by adding AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute to the Paypal assembly. I have seen code samples that use AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute in their AssemblyInfo.cs file, however, I've yet to run into a code example that also happens to be using PayPal. My question is where should the AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute be added in my project if my objective is to make the PayPal assembly work? I have tried adding it to my AssemblyInfo.cs for the project that contains the entire website, but I have not been successful. At this point, any insight or shot in the dark would be greatly appreciated. Even if someone could point me in the general direction of some documentation I would be grateful. • Storyboard editor layout confusion

    - by drew
    I am having layout problems with the storyboard editor with a fairly simple screen. I have a UIViewController to which I have added a 320x440 UIScrollView at 0,0 followed by a 320x20 UIProgressBar at 0,440. It looks fine in Storyboard editor. I'm not entirely sure how the 20 pixel status bar at the top of the screen is accommodated given the CGRect frame coordinates that Storyboard calculates. On loading ( in -(void)viewDidLoad ), the UIScrollView frame seems to be set to 320x460 pixels at 0,0 but the UIProgressBar is still 320x20 at 0,440. When I add subviews to the UIScrollView, (UIImageViews in particular), they get stretched and get clipped on the screen because although the UIScrollView thinks it is 460 pixels high, it only has 440 pixels of screen to display in. Can anyone point me to a solution? Thanks

  • Objects not loading on second request in Restkit

    - by Holger Edward Wardlow Sindbæk
    I'm sending off 2 requests simultaneously with Restkit and I receive a response back from both of them, but only one of the requests receives any objects. • MIN() and MAX() in Swift and converting Int to CGFloat

    - by gotnull
    I'm getting some errors with the following methods: 1) How do I return screenHeight / cellCount as a CGFLoat for the first method? 2) How do I use the equivalent of ObjC's MIN() and MAX() in the second method? func tableView(tableView: UITableView!, heightForRowAtIndexPath indexPath: NSIndexPath!) -> CGFloat { var cellCount = Int(self.tableView.numberOfRowsInSection(indexPath.section)) return screenHeight / cellCount as CGFloat } // #pragma mark - UIScrollViewDelegate func scrollViewDidScroll(scrollView: UIScrollView) { let height = CGFloat(scrollView.bounds.size.height) let position = CGFloat(MAX(scrollView.contentOffset.y, 0.0)) let percent = CGFloat(MIN(position / height, 1.0)) blurredImageView.alpha = percent }

  • Implementation of Nib project to Storyboard, Xcode

    - by Blake Loizides
    I have made a tabbed bar application in storyboard in xcode. I,m new to xcode. I got a Sample TableView XIB project from apple that I edited to my needs,The project has a UITableView that I Customized with Images, And with help of a certain forum member I was able to link up each image to a New View Controller. I tried to port or integrate My Nib Project Code to my StoryBoard Tabbed Bar Application.I thought I had everything right had to comment out a few things to get no errors, But the project only goes to a Blank Table View. Below are 2 links, 1 to my StoryBoard Tabbed Bar Application with the Table Code that I tried to integrate and the other My Successful Nib Project. Also is some code and pictures. If anybody has some free time and does not mind to help I would be extremely grateful for any input given. link1 - Storyboard link2 - XIB DecorsViewController_iPhone.m // // TableViewsViewController.m // TableViews // // Created by Axit Patel on 9/2/10. // Copyright Bayside High School 2010. • Adding a custom subview (created in a xib) to a view controller's view - What am I doing wrong

    - by Fran
    I've created a view in a xib (with an activity indicator, a progress view and a label). Then I've created .h/.m files: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface MyCustomView : UIView { IBOutlet UIActivityIndicatorView *actIndicator; IBOutlet UIProgressView *progressBar; IBOutlet UILabel *statusMsg; } @end #import "MyCustomView.h" @implementation MyCustomView - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if ((self = [super initWithFrame:frame])) { // Initialization code } return self; } - (void)dealloc { [super dealloc]; } @end In IB, I set the file's owner and view identity to MyCustomView and connect the IBOutlet to the File's owner In MyViewController.m, I've: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; UIView *subView = [[MyCustomView alloc] initWithFrame:myTableView.frame]; [subView setBackgroundColor:[UIColor colorWithRed:0.0 green:0.0 blue:0.0 alpha:0.5]]; [myTableView addSubview:subView]; [subView release]; } When I run the app, the view is added, but I can't see the label, the progress bar and the activity indicator. What am I doing wrong?

  • Problem in encoding and decoding the string in Iphone sdk

    - by monish
    HI Guys, Here I am having a problem In encoding/decoding the strings. Actually I had a string which I am encoding it using the base64.which was working fine. And now I need to decode the string that was encoded before and want to print it. I code I written as: I imported the base64.h and base64.m files into my application which contains the methods as: + (NSData *) dataWithBase64EncodedString:(NSString *) string; - (id) initWithBase64EncodedString:(NSString *) string; - (NSString *) base64EncodingWithLineLength:(unsigned int) lineLength; And the code in my view controller where I encode the String is: - (id)init { if (self = [super init]) { // Custom initialization userName = @"Sekhar"; password = @"Bethalam"; } return self; } -(void)reloadView { NSString *authStr = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@:%@",userName,password]; NSData *authData = [authStr dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding]; NSString *authValue = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", [authData base64EncodingWithLineLength:30]]; NSLog(authValue); //const char *str = authValue; //NSString *decStr = [StringEncryption DecryptString:authValue]; //NSLog(decStr); //NSData *decodeData = [NSData decode:authValue]; //NSString *decStr = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@",decodeData]; //NSStr //NSLog(decStr); } -(void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [self reloadView]; } and now I want to decode the String that I encoded. But I dont know How to do that.can anyone suggest me with code how to get it. Anyone's help will be much appreciated. Thank you, Monish.

  • Only last row in method execute (Objective-C)

    - by Emil
    First I want to apologize for my lack of knowledge in programming in general. I am in the way of learning and have discovered that this site is a huge compliment for me of doing so. I have created a program with three UITextField(thePlace,theVerb,theOutput) and two UITextView where one of the textviews(theOutput) take the text from the other textview(theTemplate) and replaces some strings with the text entered in the textfields. When I click a button it triggers the method createStory that is listed below. This works fine with one exception. The text in the output only changes the string 'number' to the text in the textfield. However if I change the order in the method to replace 'place','number','verb' only the verb is changed, not the number. Im sure this is some sort of easy fix but I can't find it. Can some of you help me with my troubleshooting? - (IBAction)createStory:(id)sender { theOutput.text=[theTemplate.text stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"<place>" withString:thePlace.text]; theOutput.text=[theTemplate.text stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"<verb>" withString:theVerb.text]; theOutput.text=[theTemplate.text stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"<number>" withString:theNumber.text]; } Many thanks // Emil
