  • Xcode - Terminating due to uncaught exception for iphone app

    When I try to cick on cell in my table view rather than take me to the next view I get a "Terminating due to uncaught exception" error.   • GameKit and GKPeerPicker on 1st Gen iPhone and iPod Touch

    This is my current set up for my multiplayer game: A view that gives connection tips and warns the user that multiplayer will not work on the 1st Gen iPhone or ipod Touch. There is a "connect" button that pushes the game view and starts the GKPeerPicker. Unfortunately, I don't have a 1st Gen iPhone or iPod Touch to test what happens if they press the connect button. The view will be pushed, but I don't know what will happen when the PeerPicker tries to show. So the Question(s): Is there anyway to tell if the user will not be able to use GameKit so that I can disable the "connect" button? What will happen if they do press the connect button and GameKit is not available?

  • How do I change the frame position for a custom MKAnnotationView?

    I am trying to make a custom annotation view by subclassing MKAnnotationView and overriding the drawRect method. I want the view to be drawn offset from the annotation's position, somewhat like MKPinAnnotationView does it, so that the point of the pin is at the specified coordinates, rather than the middle of the pin. So I set the frame position and size as shown below. However, it doesn't look like I can affect the position of the frame at all, only the size. The image ends up being drawn centered over the annotation position. Any tips on how to achieve what I want?   • UIScrollView and UIImage in it with paging enabled

    Hello guys! I need to display 10 - 1000 images on a UIScrollView. Paging is enabled. So every page of the scrollview is an image, it is an uiimage. I can load 10 images to 10 uiimages which stays in the memory, but with 1000 images I have problems on the iPhone or on the iPad. I am trying to unload and then load the images when I am doing scrolling. I every time displays 3 images. The current page image, and the -1 and +1 pages. When I am scrolling I unload the image and then load the next. With this method I have two problems. The scrolling is laggy and if I scroll very fast the images don't appear. Maybe is there any good solution for these problems? Can you suggest me one?

    Hey Everyone, I have a lot of time information in the format of hh:mm and I was wondering if there is a good way to take this information and compare it to the current time. Say I have a list of times for a day and I want to find out which time in this array of strings is the first that has not already past in this day. I was looking at the Calender API and I figured I could break the strings up into hours and minutes by splitting it at the ":" and then create a calender object from that but that seems rather inefficient.   • Delete a photo from the user's photo library?

    Hi, Is there a way I can delete an image that is loaded into my app from a UIImagePickerController? I want to be able to delete the image from the user's photo library when the user performs a specific action. I am prompting the user to choose a image from their library, then it gets loaded into my app at which point the app does some shnazzy animation, then actually deletes the image. Please help!

    Ok I know everyone is going to tell me not to use RegEx for parsing HTML, but I'm programming on Android and don't have ready access to an HTML parser (that I'm aware of). Besides, this is server generated HTML which should be more consistent than user-generated HTML. The regex looks like this: Pattern patternMP3 = Pattern.compile( "<A HREF=\"[^\"]+.+\\.mp3</A>", Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE | Pattern.UNICODE_CASE); Matcher matcherMP3 = patternMP3.matcher(HTML); while (matcherMP3.find()) { ... } The input HTML is all on one line, which is causing the problem. When the HTML is on separate lines this pattern works. Any suggestions?

    I have a tab-based iPhone app where I want to increase the perceived start-up speed with a launch image. As defined by the iPhone HIG, the launch image is a screenshot of your app (called Default.png) that is displayed immediately and looks very similar to the app's first screen (e.g., the screenshot of an empty table when the app displays a table first). Now the problem with a tab-based app is that users can rearrange the order of tabs so that any of the tabs may be the first tab to show upon launch. I think I read somewhere that you can't change the Default.png programmatically in your app, but I couldn't find that in the HIG (and the "Clock" app seems to do exactly that - having one launch image per tab). So, how do provide a launch image for a tab-based app?

    UIView has the concept of frame, bounds, center, and origin, and they all seem to be interrelated. Most of the time, I deal with frame when setting the position and size of a UIView (or subclass). I understand that the frame is using global coordinate system and the bounds is using coordinate of the local view (therefore it's x and y are 0, but not always), but it's still confusing to me when to use what. Question: Under what context (and what's the right time) the other properties (bounds, center, origin) should be used?

  • UIScrollview setContentOffset immediate animation?

    Is there anyway to get the setContentOffset animation to happen immediately instead of waiting until the app returns to the main run loop? I tried setting the animation property to NO and nesting inside of an animation block but it still waits until returning to the main run loop. I've also tried using a sub method to perform the animation. My problem is I perform some heavy work after setting the contentOffset so the scroll view waits until this work is complete to animate the setting of the content offset so it appears to lag for a second.

    Hi, I'm trying to avoid using Interface Builder as much as possible. At the moment I have the view controller created via code and change views via code as well. I now need one of the steps to send the app into a new view with a tab bar, that will allow me to change views as well. Ideally, what I'd do is tell the current view controller to add a Tab Bar to the bottom, but I'm not sure if that's doable, so I might have to swap the UIViewController with a UITabBarController?   • How to detect changes to Address Book after ABPersonViewController presentation

    I have two view controllers that allow changes to the Address Book. The first one lets you add or create an entry based on an ABRedordRef or edit an existing ABRecordRef, by presentation of either ABUnknownPersonViewController or ABPersonViewController. The second one is a standard ABPeoplePickerNavigationController that allows you to view/edit any of the contents of the Address Book. Both views are accessible easily accessible to the use via the main application UITabBarController. How can I determine that changes were made by either view controller, so that I can force data dependency changes to a third separate view controller. I thought that I saw a notification center message that I could subscribe to, but I can't seem to find it again... I don't care if the notification center is the method that should be used, or a delegate protocol or... whatever, I don't care, I just need to know how to detect the change or the need to re-sync with the Address Book. Can someone Please point me in the right direction. Thank you.

I have Eclipse installed on my machine along with ADT plugin and i have downloaded the source code and imported it in a eclipse. and tried to run it on Android 1.6 platform but somehow i am not getting the map instead i m just getting blank screen with grid in it.
