  I've an [email protected] email address which receives emails from clients and delivers it to various people within my company. However, since today I get the following bounce error message when sending an email to this address: Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: [email protected] Technical details of permanent failure: Message rejected by Google Groups. However, in my case I only receive one email and distribute it to a couple of people within my company. Same problem applies to the [email protected] email address which we use internally. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? UPDATE: I just realized that emails coming from the outside and being sent to this address still work. It just seems to be emails coming from my domain. • JFFS2 poor mount performance

  I run multiple ARM boards with Debian Linux installed. Board is equipped with 512 MB of NAND memory. I've observed that after ~3 months of continuous run booting time increased significantly - it takes over 3 minutes to mount filesystem (JFFS2). System was using about 35% of available storage so I’ve removed unnecessary files (got to ~18%) but this didn't change anything. Then I realized that my software produces directories that are left empty so I’ve removed ~500 empty and unnecessary dirs. This didn’t help either. After system is started I see JFFS2 garbage collector (jffs2_gcd_mtd4) running and occupying over 90% of CPU. Now my question: is there a way to „optimize” JFFS2 filesystem for better performance - faster booting (my system have limited timid to boot up)? It would be great if this optimization could be done remotely - I have no physical access to boards.

  When building your own computer one part was always a mystery to me: the motherboard. Picking a CPU/GPU/memory is easy- you just figure out where the various chips are in the low end to high end scale, do a little market research on what current games demand, and pick the parts from their respective continuums of low-to-high-end models. A mother board is more complicated though. Its features are not as obvious as "this motherboard is faster than that motherboard". Now you need to deal with part compatibilities, bus speeds, maybe power management stuff, etc. I'm interested in a short guide for selecting a motherboard, especially- what pitfalls to avoid (for example, can bus speed become a bottleneck?). To clarify: I'm not looking for motherboard recommendations. I'm looking for guidance regarding how to evaluate the fitness of a motherboard given the rest of the computer parts.

• Ubuntu server 11 showing weird characters on console

  I've installed Ubuntu server 11 after my last hard drive failed to perform. The install process and GRUB screen are OK but I have a problem with the console. I attached two photos because it's difficult for me to describe this issue. I have little knowledge about Linux. My server is used for git, file server, print server. I played with this command dpkg-reconfigure console-setup but no effect. It's nothing physicality wrong with my display or my memory(it's on board). • No display but video card fans spins

  Since I moved my computer there's no display when I plug my screen in the video card but works fine in the mother board. I tried reseting the cmos, but I still have the same problem. The fans are spining and there's a light from the card. I tried the DVI ports and the HDMI Here's my build. I have it for 2 months and everything was working fine. Do you think it's the video card?   I'm building a new dev computer. It will be running a few VMWare Worksation virtual machines. I was advised on Serverfault to use Raid10 for performance. Raid 10 uses 4 disks. I contacted my supplier who suggested a gigabyte X58A motherboard and 4 Western Digital Caviar black 6Gb/s disks. I have checked the spec for the X58A board, however, and it says: SATA 3Gb/s: RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10 SATA 6Gb/s: RAID 0, and RAID 1. I'm losing half the bandwidth because I'm forced to use SATA2! What should I do?

To test it out, I immediately edited my .profile to define this variable: export HISTIGNORE=ls I tested it out and this is great! It excludes plain 'ls' commands from my history without excluding more interesting commands with lengthy paths, but having recently harvested a great deal of wisdom from SU I am eager to know what other commands superusers might recommend or other lessons learned. What can you share about using the HISTIGNORE variable in bash?   Hello, I've just purcheased a couple of adaptec controller (2405/5405) for my ESXi 4.0 U1 servers. Currently ESXi and a couple of VMs are hosted on single sata boot disk connected to a nvidia on board non-RAID controller. I know that it's possible to migrate from single disk to RAID 1 with adaptec and I'm pleased with that, but I'm not sure if ESXi has already the right drivers installed/loaded for this controller. Is there any way I can check this? Is ESXi clever enough to recognize the new hardware and load the right module? Thanks

• Getting BootMgr not found errors repeatedly on Win7 x64

  So here is the basic configuration of the box: Primary RAID 1 (Mirror, Bootable): 2x 300GB WD SATA drives AMD Phenom Quad Core x64 @2.2 ASUS M3N78 Pro Board 4GB RAM Win 7 Ultimate Additionally, this box is a Host OS for several CentOS Boxes via VirtualBox. The box runs like a champ but, for whatever reason, everytime I restart the machine I get a BootMgr not found error when the box tries to boot. I pop in my Win DVD, select 'Repair Windows' then 'Fix Start Up Problems' and everything works fine...once. When I restart the box again I have to go back through this process. Any ideas on what is going on?

  I've bought a D945GSEJT Atom motheboard that has three usb ports available and no PS/2 connector, just a PS/2 header. I have a PS/2 keyboard with a PS/2 to USB adapter and connected it to a USB port. I tried all three USB ports. The problem is that the board seems to not recognize my keyboard. None of the keys I press are detected by the system. I've read that maybe I could try to change BIOS USB settings to solve this detection problem. But how can I do it if I can't type anything? Is there any other option other than buying a PS/2 adapter and plug it to the PS/2 header?

• DVI problem with LG L204WT

  I have a LG L204WT which has VGA and DVI connectors. Until recently, I have used the monitor via VGA, but now I have upgraded the graphics board and switched to DVI. The problem is that each time after the computer starts, the monitor either doesn't show anything (black screen, but doesn't go into standby) or the picture is distorted. I then switch the monitor off and on several times, and at some point it starts correctly and then I can work as usual. This only happens on startup. It is one out of 3 monitors, the other two work fine. It seems to me as if the monitor is not able to synchronize on the DVI signal and either shows a distorted picture or nothing at all. There are no settings in the monitor setup that would change anything. What could be the problem?

  I picked up some infiniband cards off ebay for development/testing purposes. I was hoping that there would be some drivers available under windows 7, but it doesn't seem to be recognised by the OFED software which would seem to contain windows drivers.   Ok, so ive been looking around, trying to learn and understand the way that ram works. Ive gotten one answer that said "The addressing is best for 2 sticks, and when you use 4; it slows down" Another answer said something like: Theres bank/channel interleave that makes the memory read like one stick Also I read something about the memory density also being a factor. I dug further and found out that theres a higher speed limit on my board for 2 sticks vs 4, so now im trying to put an image in my head of how and why, and... pfft. Can anyone explain, or recommend a resource that would answer these questions?

  I recently bought an Arima SW350 motherboard. It supports 16 ddr simms as well as 2 opteron 2xx CPUs, so I imagine it may have pretty heavy power requirements... It has a 24 pin ATX power connector, 2 4 pin "P4" power connectors, and an 8 pin EPS power connector. My supermicro power supply has a 24 pin ATX connector and the EPS connector, and one P4 connector. Can I safely run this thing with only one P4 connector plugged in? Can I safely get a "hard disk to P4" adapter and use that to power the other P4 connector on the motherboard? Do I just need a new power supply? The board's documentation is pretty thin on the topic.

  I bought a new PC with the AsRock Z77 Extreme 4m motherboard, since this has no WLAN, I extracted the WLAN card from my old PC, a Ralink RT 2571 WF, an connected it to the new board. I downloaded the driver from http://www.ralinktech.com/en/04_support/support.php?sn=500 (the RT257x USB one) and installed it. In the device manager, an unknown device shows up, but if I tell it to search its driver, it does not find it (searching in the whole C partition). The Ralink Diagnostic Test says that the WLAN Card is disabled. I'm using Windows 7 64bit professional. Can anyone suggest me a solution to get my WLAN running?

I'm mounting /dev/shm with 4Gb on board. mount -o remount,size=4G /dev/shm Will this memory be strictly reserved for shared memory or if /dev/shm is empty this memory could be used by regular applications (web server, php etc.)? PS:Sorry for my English. I'm asking it because I've just checked df -h and found tmpfs 6.0G 0 6.0G 0% /dev/shm on 8Gb RAM sever. I don't know who made this setup, but it seems to me awful. • Motherboard Issue - 3 Beep Bios (memory error) despite new RAM

  I have an Intel dG43RK motherboard, bought new and sealed, and have tried two different brands and speeds of RAM with a 3-beep BIOS indicating a memory error, which also occurs without RAM installed (as it should). The memory tried is; 1x4GB 1333 Kingston HyperX DDR3 RAM (New and Sealed) 2x4GB Team Elite 1066 DDR3 RAM (New and Sealed) I have tried multiple configurations and seating layouts and still no luck. I also have a GT520 graphics card on board as I dislike in-built graphics in most cases and had it at hand (also new and sealed). The only used parts are the CPU, which worked in my previous tower and was directly taken from the PC into the new set-up and the CPU Fan which will be replaced with a new fan in the foreseeable future once this is resolved. I've run out of ideas myself and any help is appreciated.

• solving network connection problem on xp

  Hi there I feel so stupid, because I have to fix my dad computer(which was mine years ago). So it is an old computer on which I have installed windows xp and the drivers for main-board. The device manager says that I have no more problems with the hardware. That computer has to connect to a router from my room but it doesn't. On ping 192.168.2.1 I get "Request time out"., The other computers are connecting to that router. Only the old computer doesn't connect to the LAN and later to the internet. Also it doesn't get a good IP(from the same class). After running ipconfig command I know that i have an IP with 169.... What can I do? Do you have any tips for me?

  I have a small set (currently 3, going to 6, not going to be more than 10) of (virtual, vmware workstation) windows XP machine's. They are similar but not exactly the same. I'm currently rolling out windows updates etc by hand: start machine 1, update, close, etc; I'd like to review the updates first before the clients can install them. Incidentally there are also other updates to be performed: changes some files on all machines, install new Java versions, etc. What's a good way of doing this automatic? I tried to search for this but things like Active Directory seem overkill to me.

• Access RAID configuration in x3550M2

  I'm trying to configure RAID in a IBM x3550 M2 server. I can't find any messages on boot about any hotkey to access the configuration utility. I wasn't able either in BIOS. The card is a on board LSI 1068e. I can't find the original CD's shipped with the server, but I downloaded Server Guide 9.21 from IBM web. Booted with that, and only getting stuck at "Windows loading"p. Tried with a 8.? version from a x3550 (M1), but it was less useful. Although I do not consider myself an expert, I'm starting to feel like a newbie luser. Any help?
