• JQuery+Java setting field value with val() + single quote

  I have a problem setting the value of a textarea element with jquery's val(). Basically, I have a JSP file which receives a string parameter called 'text'. Java code: String text = (String) request.getParameter('text'); Now I want my textarea element to receive this text: Javascript code: $('#textarea_id').val('<%=text%>'); It works when my text doesnt contain quotes single quotes (and possibly other chars). For example, for text = test' this error happens: Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ILLEGAL $('#textarea_id').val('test''); I hope you guys understand. I need a way to encode this value... i tried using escape so the quote is replaced by %27, but after unescaping its replaced again and the error happens. Thanks!

  In an ActionScript 2 project I can create a new MovieClip, right-click on it on the library and select "Component Definition" to add parameters that can be referenced inside the MovieClip. This parameters can be easily changed in the MovieClips's properties. Now, I'm working on an ActionScript 3 project but haven't been able to figure out a way to obtain the values passed in those parameters. I defined a parameter named "textToDisplay" but when I write the following in the Actions for the first frame I get an error: trace(textToDisplay); This is the error: 1120: Access of undefined property textToDisplay. • Powershell - remote folder availability while counting files

  I´m trying to make a Powershell script that reports if there´s a file older than x minutes on remote folder. The folder is often unavailable for me bacause of the high load and I found out when there is no connection it doesn´t report an error but continues with zero in $pocet.count. It means it reports everything is ok when the folder is unavailable. I was thinking about using if(Test-Path..) but what about it became unavailable just after passing Test-Path? Does anyone has a solution please? Thank you in advance

  Hi All, I want to install gettext but i cannot because my AIX says that gettext is dependent on glib and when i try to install glib it says that I cannot because glib is in turn dependent on gettext.   How do I initialize a 2d array in perl? I am trying the following code: 0 use strict; 10 my @frame_events = (((1) x 10), ((1) x 10)); 20 print "$frame_events[1][1]\n"; but it gives the following error: Can't use string ("1") as an ARRAY ref while "strict refs" in use at ./dyn_pf.pl line 20. This syntax only seems to initialize a 1d array as print "$frame_events[1]\n" works. Though perl doesn't give any error during the assignment.

• XCode debugging. How can I see where my code fails ? I get no stacktrace...

  Currently I am struggling to find out where my code fails. Xcode sometimes gives me a stacktrace, but currently is doesn't. I just get an error msg in my console like: *** -[CFString copyWithZone:]: message sent to deallocated instance 0xbe10d80. But sometimes I don't get an error message in my console at all when my app crashes. How can I figure out where the problem acually occurs? How do you guys locate your problems? How do I get XCode to give me stacktraces?

• Mimic Sublime Text multiselect in Notepad++ using autohotkey

  In sublime text 2 you can multi select(cursor) lines by holding ctrl+alt+arrow key (up/down). In notepad++ you can accomplish the same thing by holding ctrl and clicking the additional lines(areas) you would like to edit. I figured I could use a autohotkey script to accomplish the same functionality. So I tried #IfWinActive, ahk_class Notepad++ ^!Down::^Click but each time that I try to load the script I get Error at Line 2 Line Text: ^Click Error: This line does not contain a recognized action the program will exit then I tried #IfWinActive, ahk_class Notepad++ ^!Down::send ^Click but that shows up as ETXClick in notepad++ What more do I need to get this script to work only for Notepad++

• upload form only works in Firefox when uploading ASCII .stl 3D files

  uploadform.html and upload_file.php (below) works fine in Firefox but fails in Chrome, IE, and Safari when uploading ASCII .stl 3D files. Error message is "Invalid file" and problem occurs with multiple computers and multiple .stl files. When I modify the code to support other file types like JPG and PDF it allows those file types in all three web browsers. Also, Firefox only allows the .stl upload if I include application/octet-stream in the mime types section. • Using PHP5s SOAP Client to send data to an ASP/.NET based SOAP server.

  I am trying to write a snippet of PHP to connect to a third party's API via SOAP to enter some data into their database. The API requires me to pass several mandatory fields for every call (username, password, companyid, entitytype) in addition to the mandatory data fields. It also requires me to call the "ValidateEntity" funciton before calling the "CreateEntity" function. • How can I locally debug file permission issues in Visual Studio?

  I want to debug an ASP.Net website as it attempts to write a file to a directory. When actually deployed this file would possibly not be writeable by the worker process so an error would be thrown, this is not a problem as I just want to catch the error, inform the user and move on. Of course, if I'm debugging on my local machine then I'm an administrator and I have permission to write to the file, so I can't check that I've trapped the correct errors and I can't step through an see where it goes wrong if I haven't. Is there a standard approach to this sort of thing?

  I have a simple little code fragment that is frustrating me: HashSet<long> groupUIDs = new HashSet<long>(); groupUIDs.Add(uid)? unique++ : dupes++; At compile time, it generates the error: Only assignment, call, increment, decrement, and new object expressions can be used as a statement HashSet.Add is documented to return a bool, so the ternary (?) operator should work, and this looks like a completely legitimate way to track the number of unique and duplicate items I add to a hash-set. When I reformat it as a if-then-else, it works fine. Can anyone explain the error, and if there is a way to do this as a simple ternary operator?

  I have a swf file that is not controlled by me. The swf expects a javascript call to set some variables after initialization. The swf is embedded using the swfobject and I'm trying to call the as function right after the embed. This appears to be too soon because I get an error. Everything else should be fine since calling the as function manually via firebug does not produce the error. So the question is how do I call the function when the embed is complete?
