  Hey all, I'm trying to make an mp3 player that passes javascript events to a flash file. I'm not very saavy in flash so this may be a simple question.. but how do you make a "movie-less" flash file? Is it possible to just embed an actionscript file? Because that is really all I need to run. Side note: What is the easiest (and fastest) way to pass params to actionscript using javascript? Thanks, Matt Mueller

However whenever I click a link embedded in a pdf document I'm viewing with Adobe Reader 8.2.1 I get a popup security warning asking if this is ok, and then the Reader opens the link in IE.   I have a UIView that uses several UIGestureRecognizers and this view again has at least one child view that contains a MPMoviePlayerController. When a touch event occurs over the movie player, the main view seems to 'eat' all the events, leaving the media player idle.   I'm trying to play a mpeg movie on my Sony Cybershot digital camera, it's from a DV-camera converted to MPEG1. But sony refuses to play it with File error. The only files sony can play are from my previous Sony camera. The other way around gives no problem, the movies the camera takes play on various software media players. Has anyone succeeded in converting files to the mpg-format that a Sony Digital Camera can play?

But I open my project and type my MPMoviePlayerController object.... mpObject.??? ... but here I don't have allowAirPlay property. But when I start new project and create movie player I have that property, but don't have in my old project, what should I setup to have this?

  I have an embedded Geode-based application server with 512MB RAM and I'm about to try to maximize free memory during applications workload, which uses MySQL database 5.5 with InnoDB quite aggressively. As part of the whole optimization I'd want to introduce echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches sleep 5 echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches in crontab. How often is it safe to execute something like this?
