• 2 x Netgear GS724T (Dual GBIC) trunking issue

  I have the following: Netgear GS724T (Firmware Version V1.0.3_35, Protocol Version - 2.001.002) 4 x Indineon ISFP GBR/FC Settings STP Function - Enabled Fast Link - Enabled Trunking port 23,24, (21,22 - RJ45 cables, but not connected.) I have connected both switches via 2 fiber cables and want to use trunking. The problem I am having. Sometimes I get a an issue when none of the switches cannot talk with each other, nor the devices, sometime they can. The problem is irregular and no patten can be determined The statistics shows that when the switches does not work, they have RX errors If I remove one to the GBIC connections, then everything works as normal.] Question Does anyone have a solution for this please? • Dell Inspiron/Windows Vista sleep/hibernate issue

  When I hit the sleep button in Windows the computer looks like it's going into Sleep mode but a few seconds later it's restarted, and stops with this error message: internal hard disk drive not found To resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive. No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics. The computer is running Windows Vista (SP2) and I have installed all available Windows Updates and the latest manufacturer drivers. I have already tried to reseated the drive, ran the onboard diagnostics and there were no errors. I have changed the power settings for all devices where it's available so that they are not allowed to wake up the computer. Any ideas?

• A black screen with only the mouse cursor while booting

  Once i tried to re-install Windows 7. I formatted C drive, during installation system was hanged during the step "installing updates". then i cancelled the process. When i tried again, after booting from CD a black screen with a mouse pointer appears. No further progress. The mouse pointer can be moved. I tried with some other disks also. I tried with installing ubuntu also. Even though similar condition.plz help........... I cannot install an OS

• FTP Issue when connecting to a debian machine from windows

  I have a .net application which copies bunch of files to a specific FTP folder on a debian machine on periodical basis, ftp folder has 755 mod, owner of the directory is the ftp username that I authenticate in .net application. So far I tested this application with bunch of debian boxes, my initial attempts generally fail with following message if I try it with a debian machine that I haven't tried it before: "remote server returned an error 550 File unavailable" When I see this error, I log onto another debian machine on my network, and I try FTP'ing the debian box that returns the error message from command line. I generally "put" a very small file to the folder in question, right after that windows application starts copying files successfully via FTP. It is as if my command line ftp operation fixes the problem and makes debian compatible with my .net application. I checked permissions before and after the problem, it doesn't look like what I did changed anything, I am at loss understanding why this problem occurs and why it is fixed with my silly hack. Can anybody tell me where to look at next to fix this extremely annoying issue?

• Mighty Mouse is jumping around on screen

  Hi there, I have a really annoying problem with my mighty mouse since a couple of weeks now. When moving my mouse (mightymouse) sometimes it jumps (about once in 30minutes) directly to a (propably) random spot of my screen. I cleaned the mightymouse several times and there is definately no hair or the like, and the desk is not the problem as well - I have the same problem with my other mighty mouse at home. Since I don't have any other mouse i couldn't test whether this relates to the mighty mouse or the mouse in general. Has anyone experienced such issues as well? Is there a solution? • Issue with Exchange 2010 and Removing a Mailbox Database

  I did a 2003 to 2010 transition and everything is working well. During the 2010 install, a database was copied over with a random number at the end. I found out and moved three system mailboxes out of it into the database that all of the client accounts are in. I used the EMS to move those mailboxes to the other store then used the EMC to remove the mailbox database. Problem is, I am getting an error every few hours in event viewer now complaining about this database. Error is: MSExchageRepl - 4098 The Microsoft Exchange Replication service couldn't find a valid configuration for database '5f012f40-3bad-4003-a373-dbc0ffb6736f' on server 'SERVER'. Error: (nothing reported after this) Does anyone know how to fix this issue? In advance, I appreciate your help and thx for your valuable input!

• FTP issue - VSFTPd and connecting to from FileZilla

  I'm trying to connect to a CentOS Linux box that I have hosted on EC2 and I think I have everything configured correctly but when I try to connect I get this series of messages Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Response: 220 (vsFTPd 2.0.5) Command: USER tyndall Response: 331 Please specify the password. Command: PASS ********* Response: 230 Login successful. Status: Connected Status: Retrieving directory listing... Command: PWD Response: 257 "/home/tyndall" Command: TYPE I Response: 200 Switching to Binary mode. Command: PASV Error: Connection timed out Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing Not sure where to start troubleshooting this issue. Any ideas? Do I need to change any permissions? I would think this ID has the ability to see my own home directory. I am able to push/pull files from the command line version of FTP client working on Windows.

  HI, I've created volumes in equallogic in PS 6000 XV(having 2 member which is in 1 pool), checked & those volumes can be easily detected my ISCSI software in windows. But the problem with ESX , not able to see the assigned disk on ESX server, I can explain what I've done: 1.Created Cluster with enabled HA & DRS 2.Added 3 ESX4 HOST 3.Added VMkernel & configured in all 3 ESX4, enabled vmotion & FT on the same adapter. 4.went to iSCSI storage adapter properties, enabled iSCSI 5.Trying to discover the available storage with the controller IP on dynamic discovery, but not able to see the assigned storage Note: the same volume is accessed to windows that means there is no issue from storage , am I right ???? • "blue screen" occurs when using VPN

  I am using the VPN client "Tunnelblick" for getting access to the restricted sites of my university. This is working quite fine, until sometime out of a sudden a "blue screen" occurs which is telling me to restart the computer. I am using Mac OS X Lion on a 4,1 MacBook Air. The error report tells me, that the system crashed somewhere during processing the ipconfig thread. Is someone known to this or similar problems with Mac OS X Lion and VPN and has kind of a solution?

• Web connection speed issue

  I encounter a strange issue with my web (wireless) connection on my laptop (Ubuntu 11.10) I'm able to have 540kbps (down) on all computers in my house (including laptop at the same distance from the box) except me. When i do a speed connection test, i can have this optimal speed immediately after booting. As i surf on the net, watching videos, download things, etc... it becomes slower progressively until 100-110 kbps and the speed remain the same until i reboot. I tried to figure out if a process consume bandwith in background with nethogs but i found nothing suspicious. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance for your help !!

• Excel 2011 for Mac VLOOKUP Date Issue

  I'm fairly proficient in using vlookups, but I'm having an issue vlooking up dates between two different spreadsheets. =VLOOKUP(B6,'[example.xlsx]Sheet1'!$B$1:$AA$260, 19, FALSE) My formula is retrieving a date fine, but the date is different when the cell is formatted for a date. Yet, when I change the formatting on each spreadsheet to display the date as a number, the number is the same (40115). The dates are displaying differently in each spreadsheet and I can't figure out why, they differ by about 3 years and 1 day (10/30/13 vs. 10/29/09). One was previously .xls, but I saved both a .xlsx. • Screen flickers after resuming from hibernate with Intel GMA 3600 (Acer D270 with Intel N2600)

  Fresh system install, with correct display driver from Intel (8.14.8.1065). Clicking "Update driver" merely results in a message saying the driver was already up-to-date. After resuming from hibernate the entire screen flickers. This is especially noticeable while using IE9 (which has hardware acceleration enabled by default) on Google maps, in particular while typing in an address in the map search field (the flickering is much worse under these circumstances). Note that sleep worked fine, only hibernate causes this issue. Restarting "fixes" the problem temporarily until the next hibernate-resume. Aero is enabled. This is on Windows 7 (Pro) 32-bit, on an Acer Aspire One D270-1998, with the Intel N2600 (which has the Intel GMA 3600 built-in).

• Logitech M185 Wirless Mouse issue

  An issue with a Logitech M185 mouse today. A user is unable to use the device. The device works perfectly fine on my PC (It appears as HID-compliant mouse), but not on her laptop. It does not appear in her device manager on the 'Mice and other pointing devices' section. I did notice an unknown device in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section, but when I try to update the driver, it says it has the most up to date driver. We've tried plugging in the dongle in multiple USB slots but no luck. Any advice? It's a HP 620 Laptop on Windows 7. Thank you :)

• Excel 2007 Pivot Tables: Overlapping issue hampers my summary sheet

  I've created a Workbook that has 5 Pivot Tables (PT). I want to make a summary sheet that holds all these PT's, but when they expand the 'not allowed to overlap issue' causes me updating problems - they don't update/expand effectively. Therefore, can't be printed off easily. The sheet would basically help my users give their bosses a simple quick overview of the larger worksheet - this way they would be more inclined to fill it in (give a little too get a little philosophy). I had thought about using the Camera Tool, but I'm not sure how you could make it dynamic, or whether it can be dynamic with a PT? Any advice, links or step-by-steps are greatly appreciated. • Chrome: Black Screen of Death

  I dont know when it started to happen. The screen will turn into full black when a page include javascript (I think so). I cannot open Youtube videos, but I can still see the source code and the pointer to find links and buttons and I can hear the sound of video. I have tried to clear my cache and reinstalled to the latest version, but nothing seems work. Moreover, I have disabled the Pepperflash Player as well, but it did not help. This my chrome version Google Chrome 22.0.1229.79 (Official Build 158531) OS Windows WebKit 537.4 (@129177) JavaScript V8 3.12.19.11 Flash 11.3.31.331 Please help.

• How to configure Windows 8.1 start screen search?

  I'm using Windows 8.1 and when you are in the "start screen" (where all the tiles are), if you type something, a search panel appears on the right side with search results. In 8.0 it searched within "start menu" shortcuts and control panel elements only (if I remember correctly). In 8.1 it now search "start menu" shortcuts, my library and files and no longer control panel items. Is there a way to configure this? I use this search solely to locate a "start menu" shortcut and/or control panel element, so I would like to narrow my search to only this.

• Radeon hd 6570 black screen

  I got some problem with new graphic card. Every time I use AMD Catalyst drivers on Windows or Linux, screen repeatedly goes black. This usually shows u when i open new cards in a browser, resize a window or run a program. Card runs smoothly on basic drivers but this means low resolution. 1940x1080 is native for my monitor so it causes a lot of problems. I've got a 600W Deus G1, so the power is not the problem. Maybe its a silly question, but would going form a vga cable to hdmi help to improve this situation? If not, can it be caused by slow processor or old mainboard? Im getting kinda confused about this whole thing...

  Hello, I am using IE8 since last 6 months and its working fine. I am using it by providing proxy server address. Suddenly it started not working today. Strange thing is that it fails to communicate with proxy server. It still work if I use modem as internet connection, its just has problem with proxy server communicationl. Even my Firefox is working fine. And all installed application like Yahoo Messanger and skype working fine. I also uninstalled and reinstalled, but no luck. Any work around? • Windows 7 Line In Delay Issue

  Not sure if this question should be posted on a different stack exchange site, so if you find that it should not be posted here, please move it. Either way, if you know the solution, please advise. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit on my Dell Latitude 2100 netbook and I'm having an issue with the line in device/driver/functionality. The device & driver are stock: Driver Date: 7/13/2009 Driver Version: 6.1.7600.16385 I'm almost sure that the manufacturer of the sound card is RealTek. The problem is that there is a delay (when monitoring input) between the source and the speakers. My setup is bass guitar running through a 12' long instrument cable (1/4") with a 1/4" female to 1/8" male adapter into the line in port on the computer. Then the 15' long headphones/line out cable goes into a standard set of powered speakers. How do I get rid of this delay? Thanks for any help.

• VGA cable casuing resolution issue

  Hello, I recently bought a new VGA cable . When connected Windows 7 detects my monitor as a generic plug and play monitor. The resolution goes bad with the screen blurred. This problem disappears when i connect my original VGA cable. Also Windows 7 detects my LG monitor correctly in this case. I am pretty sure it is something to do with the VGA cable but have no idea what could be the possible issue. Any pointers would be very much appreciated.

• Apple Airport Extreme Wireless Card M8881 Connectivity Issue

  I bought a Apple Airport Extreme Wireless Card M8881 with the antenna for my old Power Mac G5 1.6 Ghz. The computer is running OS X 10.4. The card works and I can connect to my dlink 802.11g wireless router using WPA2/AES encryption. The problem is that the connection has intermittent connectivity issues. When the issue occurs the signal bars for the connection drop to one or two bars and the performance of the connection suffers greatly. The computer isn't far from the wireless router. I have a laptop at the desk where the mac is and it does not have any issues. I'm not sure what it might be? Updated drivers? Firmware? Let me know if I forgot any important information.

• Vista - perform scheduled actions only if screen is not locked

  Ok, here's the general idea of what I want to do. After a certain time, I would like the computer to nag me to go to sleep. Maybe every five minutes or so. But I don't want the messages to pop up if the screen is locked, because I leave it like that all night. Ideally I would like to be able to do more things like shut down running instances the web browser, or lock my user session if I ignore the notices for too long. But I'm happy with just popup messages if that's all I can do. So, how much of this is possible and where do I start? I'm not too well versed with task scheduler, and I'm assuming I'll use that to at least start whatever script I have to put together.

• Issue about Exchange 07 SP2 Backup in SBS 08

  Hi, I'm trying to backup my Exchange 07 SP2 with the Windows Server Backup. Since it's supposed to make a exchange-aware backup with the SP2, I created a scheduled full backup of the C: (where is located my First Storage Group). The backup is successful, but when I go in Mailbox database's properties, I see that the last full backup is 2 months ago (a that time backup worked but we had some issue then). In Server Manager, Features, I checked that I have Windows Server Backup Features checked. What am I missing ? Thank you !

• Wrong screen resolution with HDMI output to HDTV

  I own an HDTV with a native resolution of 1360x768. Sometimes I plug in my laptop to watch movies, and I used to do it with a VGA cable. I've had no problem setting the laptop to the TV native resolution with the VGA cable (1360x768). Having acquired an HDMI cable recently, I can't go past 1280x720, and if I do, the TV displays "invalid format". At 1280x720, the image is viewable but not centered, so for example I can't see the windows taskbar or titlebars. I've tried both cables (VGA and HDMI) with the same settings: Laptop's display turned off and trying to set the Tv's native resolution. What could I try to fix this issue? Could it be a faulty cable? (I'm using a Thinkpad with Windows 7) EDIT: My graphics adapter appears listed as Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Searching for my laptop's model yields Intel GMA 4500MHD as the graphic card) I'm downloading a driver update from Intel's website. I'll report my progress when I check its behavior tomorrow.

• SMTP Server Issue in intersystem cache

  I am facing an issue when I am sending Email from intersystems cache. I am able to send the mail, with out any problem the first time. But the second time when I am trying to send the smtp server is not responding properly. The first Helo command is sent. I recieve the confirmation 220 from the server. But I do not recieve the Message 250. So the next command is giving me the error 503, 5.5.2 "Send helo first" message. I am unable to find out why the server is not responding the second time.
