  • Replacing the LCD panel in a netbook (Asus Eee PC 1005)

    - by neilfein
Yesterday, I was cleaning up and dropped my Asus Eee 1005PE. The screen is cracked inside (i.e., cracks are visible only when on), and no longer works properly. I booted up with another monitor attached, and the computer itself is fine, but needs a new screen. Best Buy wants at least $250 to repair it (that includes their $150 fee to breathe in the same room as the unit), and Asus was of no help at all. (They're incredibly cagey and won't provide any money numbers at all, not even the cost of the part.) If replacing the LCD is no more trouble than replacing memory or a hard drive, I can do that. It's within my means to buy the part (18G241010402, a TFT LCD), but I'd like to know more about the procedure involved. My question: How does one replace the screen in this unit? Do I simply open the case and swap out the unit, or do I need to disassemble anything else to get to the screen? I don't want to order the part and then end up in a situation like this. Is the case screwed shut, or is it like an iPod where they glue things closed? I know enough about my abilities with a soldering gun to not attempt to solder tiny wires, would any of that be involved?

  • WD MBWE II (White Strip Light) 2TB - unable to access data

    - by user210477
I have a WD MBWE II (White Strip Light) 2TB - (WD20000H2NC-00) Was working fine until a few days ago. I guess there was a power failure and after that I am unable to access the 'Public' or the 'Download' folder anymore. I have been searching for answers everywhere but came up empty handed. Web GUI still works, SSH works. I hooked up both the drives on my PC and UFS Explorer sees the drive. But so far I am unable to retrieve any of my data. I do not remember what RAID setting I used when I first got the drive. I can see from GUI that it is set as "Stripe". The drive contains 10 years of family pictures which I really do not want to loose. Sadly and stupidly, I didn't even keep a backup of this drive. Can somebody please help or point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for your help. Disk Utility on Ubuntu reports 1405 bad sectors on one drive. How can I retrieve my data? Please help. Are there any ways to mock a WCF client proxy using Rhino mocks framework so I have access to the Channel property? I am trying to unit test Proxy.Close() method but as the proxy is constructed using the abstract base class ClientBast which has the ICommunication interface, my unit test is failing as the internal infrastructure of the class is absent in the mock object. Any good ways with code samples would be greatly appreciated.

  • Load SQL dump in PostgreSQL without the password dependancy

  • In Scala, when is (A,A)=>R not equivalent to Function2 ?

    - by Alex R
I'm trying to define and use my own foreach function. This is in the middle of a larger block of code. But the essence of the error I'm getting is this: test_2.scala:32: error: type mismatch; found : (A, A) = Unit required: Function2 $amount.foreach( (k:A,v:A) = { How is this error conceivably possible? Isn't (A, A) => Unit always a subtype of Function2 regardless of what else might be going on in the code?

  • Is there a code-generator to create DataTable definition block from Excel Work sheet?

    - by burak ozdogan
Hi, Basically the thing I want to achieve is to have a data-table that I want to use in my unit tests. And when I run my unit tests, I do not want to read any excel file into a data-table -or any call to Db-. So, I would like to have method that returns a data-table with the values that I can use in my test. Is there already any written tool to read an excel sheet and generate a code that defines an ADO.Net DataTable? Thanks, burak ozdogan

  • How to integrate Purify into Hudson CI?

    - by Martin
Hello everybody! I have a Hudson CI system set up and for the moment it is used for building a project and running some unit tests. My next step is to integrate the memory leak detector Purify into the build cycle. Now I want to start the unit tests also inside purify and for this I have created a new batch task which runs following command: purify.exe /SaveTextData MyExecutable.exe --test TestLibrary.dll --output xml As I read in the Purify documentation the /SaveTextData option is used in order to run purify not in GUI mode. If I run this command on my local workstation in the command line it works perfectly. But in case it is started by Hudson, nothing happens. Unfortunetly there are no logs of purify... Has someone ever tried to start purify either by Hudson or any other CI system? Thanks in advance. Best regards Martin EDIT: I forgot to tell you, that I have Hudson running as master and slave on different computers. On the master I have configured a task which should start the unit tests within purify on the slave. I am running the slave via JNLP. EDIT 18.03.2010: Ok, so finally I am a bit closer the source of the problem. I have discovered, that running my unit tests in purify locally the log file EngineCmdLine.log contains three commands. I am starting purify with following command: purify.exe /SaveTextData TestRunnerConsoleWD.exe --test TestDemoWD.dll Output of EngineCmdLine.log when starting purify manually: File: D:\workspace\hudson\workspace\Purify_TestFW_CommonsCoreTest_Cpp_msvs9\TestRunnerConsoleWD.exe File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ws2_32.dll File: D:\workspace\hudson\workspace\Purify_TestFW_CommonsCoreTest_Cpp_msvs9\TestDemoWD.dll Output when starting via Hudson: File: D:\workspace\hudson\workspace\Purify_TestFW_CommonsCoreTest_Cpp_msvs9\TestRunnerConsoleWD.exe File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ws2_32.dll File: D:\workspace\hudson\workspace\Purify_TestFW_CommonsCoreTest_Cpp_msvs9\TestDemoWD.dll File: D:\workspace\hudson\workspace\Purify_TestFW_CommonsCoreTest_Cpp_msvs9\TestDemoWD.dll The error output of purify: Instrumenting: BtcTestDemoWD.dll 313856 bytes Purify: While processing file D:\workspace\hudson\workspace\Purify_TestFW_CommonsCoreTest_Cpp_msvs9\TESTFWWD.DLL: Error: Cannot replace file c:\Programme\IBM\RationalPurifyPlus\PurifyPlus\cache\BTCTESTFWWD$Purify_D_workspace_hudson_workspace_Purify_TestFW_CommonsCoreTest_Cpp_msvs9.DLL. • PHPUnit won't run tests by directory

    - by Frank Schwieterman
I'm new to PHP, trying to get multiple tests to run at once. I was hoping to just run all tests in a directory, which seemed to work awhile (instead of using a phpunit.xml). I am able to run a test individually like so: phpunit FirstUnitTest sites\all\modules\experiment\unit-tests\FirstUnitTest.lua But when I try to run the same test by directory, its not found. I try using: phpunit sites\all\modules\experiment\unit-tests Does anyone know why this may not work?

  • Scala 2.8: _ behaviour changed?

    - by Alexey Romanov
Using XScalaWT, this compiled under Scala 2.7: class NodeView(parent: Composite) extends Composite(parent) { var nodeName: Label = null this.contains( label( nodeName = _ ) ) } With 2.8.0 RC1, I get this error: type mismatch; found : main.scala.NodeView required: org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Label The types are: label(setups: (Label => Unit)*)(parent: Composite) : Label contains(setups: (W => Unit)*) : W So it looks like _ now binds to the outer function instead of inner. Is this change intentional?

  • Symfony - Delete and reload all database records for each test

    - by Andree
Hi there, From the Jobeet tutorial provided in Symfony website, I found out that I can load fixtures data each time I run unit test by using this script: Doctrine_Core::loadData(sfConfig::get('sf_test_dir').'/fixtures'); However, I want to delete and reload all records from database each time I run a unit test. Currently, I'm doing this manually (Run symfony doctrine:build --all before each test). Can someone provided me a correct way to do this?

  • XSD and plain text

    - by Paul Knopf
    I have a rest/xml service that gives me the following... <verse-unit unit-id="38009001"> <marker class="begin-verse" mid="v38009001"/> <begin-chapter num="9"/><heading>Judgment on Israel&apos;s Enemies</heading> <begin-block-indent/> <begin-paragraph class="line-group"/> <begin-line/><verse-num begin-chapter="9">1</verse-num>The burden of the word of the <span class="divine-name">Lord</span> is against the land of Hadrach<end-line class="br"/> <begin-line class="indent"/>and Damascus is its resting place.<end-line class="br"/> <begin-line/>For the <span class="divine-name">Lord</span> has an eye on mankind<end-line class="br"/> <begin-line class="indent"/>and on all the tribes of Israel,<footnote id="f1"> A slight emendation yields <i> For to the <span class="divine-name">Lord</span> belongs the capital of Syria and all the tribes of Israel </i> </footnote><end-line class="br"/> </verse-unit> I used visual studio to generate a schema from this and used XSD.EXE to generate classes that I can use to deserialize this mess into programmable stuff. I got everything to work and it is deserialized perfectly (almost). The problem I have is with the random text mixed throughout the child nodes. The generated verse-unit objects gives me a list of objects (begin-line, begin-block-indent, etc), and also another list of string objects that represent the bits of string throughout the xml. Here is my schema <xs:element maxOccurs="unbounded" name="verse-unit"> <xs:complexType mixed="true"> <xs:sequence> <xs:choice maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element name="marker"> <xs:complexType> <xs:attribute name="class" type="xs:string" use="required" /> <xs:attribute name="mid" type="xs:string" use="required" /> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="begin-chapter"> <xs:complexType> <xs:attribute name="num" type="xs:unsignedByte" use="required" /> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="heading"> <xs:complexType mixed="true"> <xs:sequence minOccurs="0"> <xs:element name="span"> <xs:complexType> <xs:simpleContent> <xs:extension base="xs:string"> <xs:attribute name="class" type="xs:string" use="required" /> </xs:extension> </xs:simpleContent> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="begin-block-indent" /> <xs:element name="begin-paragraph"> <xs:complexType> <xs:attribute name="class" type="xs:string" use="required" /> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="begin-line"> <xs:complexType> <xs:attribute name="class" type="xs:string" use="optional" /> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="verse-num"> <xs:complexType> <xs:simpleContent> <xs:extension base="xs:unsignedByte"> <xs:attribute name="begin-chapter" type="xs:unsignedByte" use="optional" /> </xs:extension> </xs:simpleContent> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="end-line"> <xs:complexType> <xs:attribute name="class" type="xs:string" use="optional" /> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> <xs:element name="end-paragraph" /> <xs:element name="end-block-indent" /> <xs:element name="end-chapter" /> </xs:choice> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute name="unit-id" type="xs:unsignedInt" use="required" /> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> WHAT I NEED IS THIS. I need the random text that is NOT surrounded by an xml node to be represented by an object so I know the order that everything is in. I know this is complicated, so let me try to simplify it. <field name="test_field_0"> Some text I'm sure you don't want. <subfield>Some text.</subfield> More text you don't want. </field> I need the xsd to generate a field object with items that can have either a text object, or a subfield object. I need to no where the random text is within the child nodes.

  • Where is the VB.Net debugger "Make Object ID" function?

    - by Josh
When using the visual studio 2008 debugger with c# i can right-click on a variable and choose "Make Object ID" which allows me to watch that object (via it's ID) regardless of whether it is in the current stack frame or not. When the debugger is in VB code, (doesnt matter if it's run from a c# unit test or a vb unit test) That option isn't there. Where did VB put this feature? Or does it simply not support it like so many other helpful c# features?

  • Id property not populated

    - by fingers
I have an identity mapping like so: Id(x => x.GuidId).Column("GuidId") .GeneratedBy.GuidComb().UnsavedValue(Guid.Empty); When I retrieve an object from the database, the GuidId property of my object is Guid.Empty, not the actual Guid (the property in the class is of type System.Guid). However, all of the other properties in the object are populated just fine. The database field's data type (SQL Server 2005) is uniqueidentifier, and marked as RowGuid. The application that is connecting to the database is a VB.NET Web Site project (not a "Web Application" or "MVC Web Application" - just a regular "Web Site" project). I open the NHibernate session through a custom HttpModule. Here is the HttpModule: public class NHibernateModule : System.Web.IHttpModule { public static ISessionFactory SessionFactory; public static ISession Session; private static FluentConfiguration Configuration; static NHibernateModule() { if (Configuration == null) { string connectionString = cfg.ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["myDatabase"].ConnectionString; Configuration = Fluently.Configure() .Database(MsSqlConfiguration.MsSql2005.ConnectionString(cs => cs.Is(connectionString))) .ExposeConfiguration(c => c.Properties.Add("current_session_context_class", "web")) .Mappings(x => x.FluentMappings.AddFromAssemblyOf<LeadMap>().ExportTo("C:\\Mappings")); } SessionFactory = Configuration.BuildSessionFactory(); } public void Init(HttpApplication context) { context.BeginRequest += delegate { Session = SessionFactory.OpenSession(); CurrentSessionContext.Bind(Session); }; context.EndRequest += delegate { CurrentSessionContext.Unbind(SessionFactory); }; } public void Dispose() { Session.Dispose(); } } The strangest part of all, is that from my unit test project, the GuidId property is returned as I would expect. I even rigged it to go for the exact row in the exact database as the web site was hitting. The only differences I can think of between the two projects are The unit test project is in C# Something with the way the session is managed between the HttpModule and my unit tests The configuration for the unit tests is as follows: Fluently.Configure() .Database(MsSqlConfiguration.MsSql2005.ConnectionString(cs => cs.Is(connectionString))) .Mappings(x => x.FluentMappings.AddFromAssemblyOf<LeadDetailMap>()); I am fresh out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
