  • How to suppress all Warnings

    The unit tests for a product that I am taking over have not been kept up with during the products development and they are very broken. I am trying to fix them as an exercise to become familiar with the code. However, the all the deprecation warnings are a PITA as they interfere with the display of the test results. Is there a way to suppress the warnings when I execute the unit tests? Thanks!

    I think the concept of Python's doctests is brilliant, and as a C++ programmer at a real-time shop, I'm quite jealous. We basically have no unit test capability, which is a severe hindrance. I've seen C++Unit, etc, but is there anything that can extract test cases out of comments like Python's doctests rather than putting them in the code directly?

    I have a handful of queries I need to write in SQL Server 2005. Each Query will be calculating 4 unit cost values based on a handful of (up to 11) fields. Any time I want 1 of these 4 unit cost values, I'll want all 4. Which is quicker? Computing in the SQL Query ((a+b+c+d+e+f+g+h+i)/(j+k)), calling ComputeScalarUnitCost(datapoint.ID) 4 times, or joining to ComputeUnitCostTable(datapoint.ID) one time?

  • Using Juniper EX3300 as a router

    So I have a Juniper EX3300 Switch. One of its uplink ports (ge-0/1/0) is connected to my ISP's router. ISP router's port address is xx.xx.xx.109. My switch's IP address is xx.xx.xx.110. From the switch, I can ping to xx.xx.xx.109 and any other IP in the world. I mean its connected to the Internet. I connected the port eth0 of a computer (running Ubuntu) to the port ge-0/0/0 of the switch (which in the same VLAN as ge-0/1/0). I configured the port eth0 as follows: iface eth0 inet static address yy.yy.yy.208 netmask 255.255.255.240 gateway xx.xx.xx.110 yy.yy.yy.208 is assigned to me by the ISP. So, now I can ping to the switch (xx.xx.xx.110) from this computer. But I can not ping to either xx.xx.xx.109 (ISP router) or any other IP. I want this computer to be connected to the Internet. What am I doing wrong?     Hi, Following the setup that I have for my Cisco devices, I got some basic level of functionality authenticating users that loggin to 3Com switches authenticated against a RADIUS server. Problem is that I can not get the user to obtain admin privileges. I'm using Microsoft's IAS service. According to 3Com documentation when configuring the access policy on IAS the value of 010600000003 have to be used to specify admin access level.   • Disable eclipselink caching and query caching - not working?

    I am using eclipselink JPA with a database which is also being updated externally to my application. For that reason there are tables I want to query every few seconds. I can't get this to work even when I try to disable the cache and query cache. For example: EntityManagerFactory entityManagerFactory = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("default"); EntityManager em = entityManagerFactory.createEntityManager(); MyLocation one = em.createNamedQuery("MyLocation.findMyLoc").getResultList().get(0); Thread.sleep(10000); MyLocation two = em.createNamedQuery("MyLocation.findMyLoc").getResultList().get(0); System.out.println(one.getCapacity() + " - " + two.getCapacity()); Even though the capacity changes while my application is sleeping the println always prints the same value for one and two. I have added the following to the persistence.xml <property name="eclipselink.cache.shared.default" value="false"/> <property name="eclipselink.query-results-cache" value="false"/> I must be missing something but am running out of ideas.   • hibernate and ehcache replication

    Hi, I am working on a cache replication solution between nodes Node A - master node = Hibernate + Database + Ehcache as secondary cache Node B - regional node= Ehcache as prmiary cache. no Hibernate Node B is used only as near-by cache for query. Now I am updating data (Say SudentInfo) in Node A, it gets persisted and cached correctly. On replication side (I am using JMS) it sends a message to Node B. But the problem is, the message it sends is of instance CacheEntry(deep Inside Element), there is no way to resurrect the original object (StudentInfo). What I got in node B is CacheEntry with some attributes of Students but not actually an Student Object. Please note that I don't need Hibernate session/persistence in Node B, node B is only for fast query, persistence is done through Node A. So has anybody tried any solution like this? Is there any way to convert CacheEntry to actual object? or Tell ehcache to replicate original object rather than CacheEntry. Thanks for the help

  • State Machine WF: Issues with workflow termination

    Hello, We have a state machine workflow for maintaining the state of an application submitted by a user. One of the issues I am having is related to workflow termination. In one of the states, I had a bug. When the application reached that state, it threw an exception and as a result, the terminate event of the workflow was called and the particular workflow instance got removed from the persistence database. So I am not able to load that workflow instance anymore. I would have hoped, if there is an error in one of the states, an exception would be thrown(so that we know what the issue is), yet the entire workflow instance should not disappear. Can the fault handler activity ensure that the workflow does not terminate. Also, is there a way, when the terminate event is called, the instances do not get removed from the persistence store. When I use it alone whithout id I get this exception either. When I use eclipse debugger to watch variable values, I get get this com.sun.jdi.InvocationException occurred invoking method. instead of the annotation value. but for Id annotation it shows a javassist annotation object. I'm new to javassist. Can anyone help me?

    In my code I am using JSF - Front end , EJB-Middile Tier and JPA connect to DB.Calling the EJB using the Webservices.Using MySQL as DAtabase. I have created the Voter table in which I need to insert the record. I ma passing the values from the JSF to EJB, it is working.I have created JPA controller class (which automatcally generates the persistence code based on the data base classes) Ex: getting the entity manager etc., em = getEntityManager(); em.getTransaction().begin(); em.persist(voter); em.getTransaction().commit(); I have created the named query also: @NamedQuery(name = "Voter.insertRecord", query = "INSERT INTO Voter v values v.voterID = :voterID,v.password = :password,v.partSSN = :partSSN, v.address = :address, v.zipCode = :zipCode,v.ssn = :ssn, v.vFirstName = :vFirstName,v.vLastName = :vLastName,v.dob = :dob"), But still not able to insert the record? Can anyone help me in inserting the record into the Data base through JPA.(Persistence object)?

    What are the steps required to enable Hibernate's second-level cache, when using the Java Persistence API (annotated entities)? How do I check that it's working? I'm using JBoss 4.2.2.GA. From the Hibernate documentation, it seems that I need to enable the cache and specify a cache provider in persistence.xml, like: <property name="hibernate.cache.use_second_level_cache" value="true" /> <property name="hibernate.cache.provider_class" value="org.hibernate.cache.HashtableCacheProvider" /> What else is required? Do I need to add @Cache annotations to my JPA entities? How can I tell if the cache is working? I have tried accessing cache statistics after running a Query, but Statistics.getSecondLevelCacheStatistics returns null, perhaps because I don't know what 'region' name to use.

    Head swimming with the product name soup at http://www.terracotta.org. Need someone to help clarify what I need. Background: app has some "legacy" persistence code that does not use Hibernate, but has a home-grown cache implementation. New entities are Hibernate enabled. What I want: to use Terracotta for Hibernate 2nd level cache. I think I then want to slide out the home-grown cache impl and slide in ehcache (very similar semantically to home-grown version) - obviously I want Terracotta to back that EHCache as well. Confused with: Will I be telling Hibernate that ehcache is it's cache provider, then configure ehcache to use terracotta? So (hibernate | legacy-persistence)- ehcache - terracotta Am I on the right track? Forgive the newb question but the terracotta.org site really confuses me since so much of it it trying to sell me the commercial varieties.

    I've looked at a few sites now, and I'm still struggling to find a complete listing of all the possible layers/tiers you can have in an application. From back in college (1999) I remember the following: Presentation Layer (Views) Application Layer (Controllers) Business Logic Layer (API/Rules) Persistence Layer (Database/Object Persistence/Model) I'm not advocating that they all be used...especially when you consider that too many layers/tiers could lead to an increase in complexity...I just wondered what the complete list might look like... Based on a couple of blogs I've found several different answers...and Javascript and client side technologies seem to have leaked in adding more client-side layers according to one blog the client side tier might even consist of Behavior Layer (Javascript, Flash) Presentation Layer (CSS/Images) Note: I though the entire client side layer was the presentation layer Structure Layer (XHTML, HTML) I'm just trying to get an abstract idea of what all the possible layers might be, (even though some people call them different things)
