• convert.php does not run in a screen session

  I am trying to convert a big forum. At the moment I have to do this via ssh and start convert.php with "php5 -f convert.php -- $OPTIONS". But my internet connection is a bit buggy and so it is often killed. If i start the above working command in a screen session it does not work. Instead php gives me the HTML code of the "convert.php" back. head of the page: X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.12 Set-Cookie: PHPSESSID=6bc4370b2d8d40ff8c3ab23672ff4135; path=/ Expires: Thu, 19 Nov 1981 08:52:00 GMT Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0 Pragma: no-cache Content-type: text/html Does it has something to do with the Sessions? But why does it work on the same ssh-connection without screen?

• Force File Reload Before Build

  We have a tool that generates some code (.cs) files that are used to build the project. The tool is run during the pre-build step, but the files are updated in the solution only after the build, which means the build needs to be performed twice to clear the errors after a change to the input. Example: Modify Tool Input File Run Build Tool Runs and changes source file Build Fails Run Build Tool Runs and changes source file (but it doesn's actually change, because the input remains the same) Build Succeeds Any ideas how we can do away with the double build, and still let our tool be run from VS? • Defining a SPI in Clojure

  I'm looking for an idiomatic way(s) to define an interface in Clojure that can be implemented by an external "service provider". My application would locate and instantiate the service provider module at runtime and delegate certain responsibilities to it. Let's say, for example, that I'm implementing a RPC mechanism and I want to allow a custom middleware to be injected at configuration time. This middleware could pre-process the message, discard messages, wrap the message handler with logging, etc. I know several ways to do this if I fall back to Java reflection, but feel that implementing it in Clojure would help my understanding. (Note, I'm using SPI in a general sense here, not specifically referring to the way it's defined in the JAR file specification) Thanks

• How to programmatically alpha fade a textured object in OpenGL ES 1.1 (iPhone)

  I've been using OpenGL ES 1.1 on the iPhone for 10 months, and in that time there is one seemingly simple task I have been unable to do: programmatically fade a textured object. To keep it simple: how can I alpha fade, under code control, a simple 2D triangle that has a texture (with alpha) applied to it. I would like to fade it in/out while it is over a scene, not a simple colored background. So far the only technique I have to do this is to create a texture with multiple pre-faded copies of the texture on it. (Yuck) As an example, I am unable to do this using Apple's GLSprite sample code as a starting point. It already textures a quad with a texture that has its own alpha. I would like to fade that object in and out.

• Android ant script workaround?

  It appears that, in the transition between the Android 1.1 sdk and 1.5, Google radically changed how ant scripts using AAPT can build Android projects. Previously they support args allowing developers to specify source, res, asset, and a manifest for a particular build. Now, they seem to allow developers to specify only a single folder containing everything. While I could rewrite all our build scripts to work in this new way, I rather like our current system (as it doesn't require more hours of work that I don't have). To that end, has anyone figured out how to go back to the pre 1.5 method of ant script building? Further, has anyone found a rational reason for this change?

• Lucene search taking TOOO long.

  I;m using Lucene.net (2.9.2.2) on a (currently) 70Gig index.. I can do a fairly complicated search and get all the document IDs back in 1 ~ 2 seconds.. But to actually load up all the hits (about 700 thousand in my test queries) takes 5+ minutes. We aren't using lucene for UI, this is a datastore between processes where we have hundreds of millions of pre-cached data elements, and the part I am working on exports a few specific fields from each found document. (ergo, pagination doesn't make since as this is an export between processes). My question is what is the best way to get all of the documents in a search result? currently I am using a custom collector that does a get on the document (with a MapFieldSelector) as its collecting.. I've also tried iterating through the list after the collector has finished.. but that was even worse. I'm open to ideas :-). Thanks in advance.

• How to trigger saved password autofill in browsers?

  I have a web application written in pure JavaScript (no pre-generated HTML except for the document which loads all the JS files). This app contains a login form which is created dynamically when the document.ready event event is triggered. I trick the browser into displaying the "Remember password?" dialog by posting the login form into a hidden iframe before logging in using ajax (in Firefox the password appears on the saved password list, so this part obviously works) but saved passwords never get filled in after the login screen is loaded again at a later time. The same thing happens in Firefox and Safari. Is there something I can do or some function I can call to trigger autofill? UPDATE: autofill works in Safari on initial page load, but not when user logs out and the login form is recreated without a page reload. In Firefox it never works.

• TinyMCE not working in http request xhr ajax generated page

  So i I have a page that contains links that call an httpRequest. The request calls a php file that grabs data from mysql and pre populates a form which is then returned to the browser/webpage. My problem is that when the page is returned to the browser via the httpRequest/ajax the text area does not display the tinymce editor, it just displays a normal text area. It looks like my request and ajax is working fine the text area just doesn't have the tinycme editor on it. When i don't use ajax it works fine but when i put it in a separate file and call it via ajax it doesn't bring in the tinymce editor. Does anyone know how to fix this problem so that my ajax generated page displays the text area with the tinymce editor. Thank you.

• NSIS Installer - Displaying different licences

  Heya, I'm trying to modify an existing NSIS install script to allow for different licence files to be presented to the user depending on whether they are a new or existing user. I have pre-existing code which detects an existing install in the .onInit section. However I'm running into bumps trying to use the NSIS provided licence screen e.g. !InsertMacro MUI_PAGE_LICENSE Content\Licence.rtf I would like to be able to choose between Licence and Licence2.rtf (though they'll be renamed something representative in the final version). I've tried using selectable sections calling functions which nest the !insertmacro but that doesn't work because it needs to be in the base level of the script. I can't change the parameter to be runtime definable because it needs to know what the file is at compile time to build it into the installer. I know I can roll my own custom page called from a function and do it that way but I was wondering if anyone had got the NSIS installer working with using the MUI_PAGE_LICENSE and different licences. • problem showing pictures stored outside web root folder

  On a website users can upload pictures. For security reasons these are stored outside the webroot (public_html) folder. When I need to display the picture, I send the headers and have "readfile" read and output the picture data, like so: header("Pragma: public"); header("Expires: 0"); // set expiration time header("Cache-Control: must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0"); header('Content-type: image/jpg'); header('Content-Length: ' . $filesize); readfile($path_url . '/' . $photo); This works great, but the site is growing and this is starting to be a burden on the server. Question: is there a way to send the picture or picture data to the user, without the server first having to load the picture (obviously with the picture still being stored outside the webroot folder)?   i will be analysing vast amount of network traffic related data shortly. i will pre-process the data in order to analyse it. i have found that R and SPSS are among the most popular tools for statistical analysis. i will also be generating quite a lot of graphs and charts. so i was wondering what is the basic difference between these two softwares. i am not asking which one is better. i just wanted to know what are the difference in terms of workflow between the two besides the fact that SPSS has a GUI. I will be mostly working with scripts in either case anyway so i wanted to know about the other differences.

  Say I want to create a sort of Pre-processor for existing java code, so I can get the language specific keywords and objects, and then create routines that convert them to their Csharp equivalents, using Csharp code - what route should this take? I'm thinking of Regular Expressions, but I'm fuzzed. I have a bunch of about a 100 .java files and I need to convert them to csharp code in record time. I have manually done just about five of them and I have serious headaches already. Or are there any tools out there that already do that?

• TCP Flow control in AS3?

  I am currently working on a Flash socket client for a pre-existing service/standard. The service uses TCP flow control to throttle itself and the Flash socket is reading in everything as fast as it can despite not being able to process it as fast as it's being taken in. This causes the bytesAvailable on the socket to keep increasing and the server never knows that the client has fallen behind. In short, is there any way to limit the size of bytesAvailable for a Flash Socket object or throttle it in some other way? Note: Rewriting the server isn't a viable option at the current time as it's a standard and the client's utility drops immensely if server-side changes are needed

  I would like to schedule a batch job in which a can execute a move of data between two workspace application in Hyperion Fusion Edition for Oracle. The tool provided is called 'Data Synchronization' This tool allows for this type if activity to occur upon request via the workspace environment. How might I do this automatically? I noticed there is a Batch Scheduler for which I can request command line batch file to run at a pre-specified time. However, I do not know what resources are available to show me how to do this for the Data-Synchronizations.

• Compiling zip component for PHP 5.2.11 in MAMP PRO

  Helo I installed MAMP PRO on my Macbook Pro (10.6) some time ago. Now I would like to use zip functions in php. I found that I must add zip.so to my extension folder and edited php.ini. On my computer I have two different versions of PHP one in MAMP folder and other in user/lib which was pre-installed on my system. Now I wish to compile my zip library for MAMP version. I got zip sources for my version of PHP then in terminal called function /Applications/MAMP/bin/php5/bin/phpize so it uses mamp php version ./configure make then I moved compile zip.so to extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613. When MAMP is launched it returns this error: [11-Apr-2010 16:33:27] PHP Warning: PHP Startup: zip: Unable to initialize module Module compiled with module API=20090626, debug=0, thread-safety=0 PHP compiled with module API=20060613, debug=0, thread-safety=0 These options need to match in Unknown on line 0 Can some body explain to me how to do this the right way.

• How well are SVG filter elements defined?

  We are considering using SVG filters as part of our toolchain, serving the SVG to browsers capable of supporting it, while serving pre-rendered PNGs to other. One problem we noticed is that the rendering of the filter chains seems to be very inconsistent across renderers. When looking at the "filters01" example from the SVG specification, the rendering looks very different across the tools we tried. Chrome (5.0.307.11) failed to render the image, while other tools (Firefox 3.6, Opera 10.10, Inkscape 0.47, GIMP 2.6.7) render something vaguely similar in style to the picture in the specification, but no two are truly the same. Is that an issue of under-specification or are the tools just not there? If we would use SVG with filter effects: is there a reference tool that can give us a rendering the way it is intended by the spec?

• C# Binary File Compare

  I'm in a situation where I want to compare two binary files. One of them is already stored on the server with a pre-calculated Crc32 in the database from when I stored it originally. I know that if the Crc is different then the files are definitely different. However, if the Crc is the same I don't know that the files are. So what I'm looking for is a nice efficient way of comparing the two streams on from the posted file and one from the file system. I'm not an expert on streams but I'm well aware that I could easily shoot myself in the foot here as far as memory usage is concerned. Any help is greatly appreciated.

• Is there a way to watch all COM activity on a computer?

  I'm trying to deal with a piece of specialized hardware, that presents it's interface as a COM object, using win32com in Python. However, the documentation for how to actually set up the hardware through the COM object is sparse (it requires a significant amount of initialization), and entirely oriented at using a bunch of pre-built libraries for Visual Studio, which are not accessible through python. That said, is there any way to watch all local COM activity, so I can sort through the activity logs to try and figure out how the existing demo programs properly initialize the hardware, and replicate the behavior in my python script? Ideally, there would be something in the vein of wireshark for doing this. Note: I have very little (read: basically no) experience using COM, as my focus is mostly embedded hardware (and a little python dev on the side). However, I'm stuck with this particular device.

  ...what options are there now with .NET 4.0, in a way that does support NAT for the client side (i.e. client behind NAT). I would prefer to use something HTTP based, but that is a weak condition - I think mid term I will have some non http communication outside WCF anyway, so proxy traversal is something I could delay. Pre .NET 4.0 there was the issue that basically the server-client channel would be opened from the server, which made NAT something non-traversable. Polling is not acceptable - we talk time sensitive information here. So, what are my options now?

• Is there good .sol editor for Flash Player 9 Local Shared Objects? Can we build one?

  There's plenty of them out there but none of them do what I would like them to do. Most of them crash when opening a file or simply corrupt the data. Many don't run at all. It seems to me that most were written 3-4 years ago for AS2 .sols and no longer work with FP9/AS3 sols. I'd attempt to write my own using AIR but I can't find a new spec of the byte format. There are many plugins that support degrading the javascript to browsers that dont have javascript enabled and techniques to support this. What are peoples thoughts on javascript support, we build applications rather than just websites and are looking to just support javascript enabled browsers as a pre-requisite assuming that most people or companies have javascript enabled. Do you find most people have javascript? do you monitor the percentage of javascript/non-javascript browsers (I guess this can be done with website stats) and what are the numbers regarding this?

• Should I typecast in PHP when defining my vars?

We were commenting on the way PHP works with vars and how memory heavy it is on the server due to its "mixed vars" and something occured to me - why not typecast right from the start? • How to wrap text of html button with fixed width

  I just noticed that if you give a html button a fixed width, the text inside the button is never wrapped. I've tried it with word-wrap, but that cuts of the word even though there are spaces available to wrap on.
