Firefox/vista not showing div tag

Hi, I have a div tag which should be displayed at the bottom of a page given a set of circumstances. On my machine XP/IE, chrome, firefox, opera (all latest versions) the div shows up fine. But on my bosses machine, running vista with Firefox 3.6 for some reason the div tag is not showing up. However, if i go to another machine with vista and firefox the div tag shows up fine. My question is, what could have been set in firefox that would cause this div tag to now be displayed. ListView Final Column Autosize creates scrollbar

Hi There, I am implementing a custom control which derives from ListView. I would like for the final column to fill the remaining space (Quite a common task), I have gone about this via overriding the OnResize method: protected override void OnResize(EventArgs e) { base.OnResize(e); if (Columns.Count == 0) return; Columns[Columns.Count - 1].Width = -2; // -2 = Fill remaining space } or via another method: protected override void OnResize(EventArgs e) { base.OnResize(e); if (!_autoFillLastColumn) return; if (Columns.Count == 0) return; int TotalWidth = 0; int i = 0; for (; i < Columns.Count - 1; i++) { TotalWidth += Columns[i].Width; } Columns[i].Width = this.DisplayRectangle.Width - TotalWidth; } Edit: This works fine until I dock the ListView into a parent container and resize via that control. Every second time the control size shrinks (IE, drag the the border one pixel), I get a scroll bar on the bottom which can't move at all (not even one pixel). The result of which is when I drag the size of the parent I am left with a flickering scroll bar in the ListView, and a 50% chance it will be there when the dragging stops.

form layout in drupal from a module

I created my own module called "cssswitch". I'm trying to create my own html layout to display the admin form portion of the module. I understand how to use the hook_form_alter() to modify form elements, but I need to create the entire form layout to make some fields appear next to each other. Why doesn't this jQuery snippet work in IE8 like it does in Firefox or Chrome (Live Demo Included) ?

I asked for help earlier on Stackoverflow involving highlighting spans with the same Class when a mouse hovers over any Span with that same Class. Here is a screenshot of it in IE8, with my mouse hovered over the " min) { min" section in the middle. As you can see, it highlighted the span that the mouse is hovering over perfectly fine. However, it has also highlighted some random spans above and below it that don't have the same class! Only the span's with the same Class as the one where the mouse is over should be highlighted green. In this screenshot, only that middle green section should be green. Here is a screenshot of it working properly in Firefox/Chrome with my mouse in the exact same position: This screenshot is correct as the span that the mouse is over (the green section) is the only one in this section that shares that class. Why is IE8 randomly green-highlighting spans when it shouldn't be (they don't share the same class) using my little jQuery snippet? a:hover background-postition problem

For some reason, I am not entirely sure why, but the following is not working. The background position simply stays the same on hover. I cannot figure out why. css problem - 'post link'

Hi, I am no css expert so I am wondering whether someone could help. I have several forms to delete an item like this: <form action="/Items/DeleteItem" class="deleteForm" method="post"> Some text <input id="Id" name="Id" value="14014" type="hidden"> <input value="Delete" class="link_button" type="submit"> </form> This should look like this: Some text Delete Here ‘Some text’ describes the item and Delete is a ‘link’ which performs a post request to delete the item (as virtually all browsers only support the post and get requests). I have started to style things (CSS below) but the ‘Delete’ ‘link’ is still slightly offset in relation to ‘Some text’ (at least in firefox). I would appreciate any help with the css. Why does the following Toggle function perform four different operations instead of two?

You can see the implementation here: http://jsfiddle.net/BMWZd/8/ What I am trying to do, when you click on 'John Brown', you see the first element at top turn black. When you click it again, the border of the dotted circle disappears, then when you click 'John Brown' again, you see something else, then finally once again it all disappears. What I am trying to achieve is when you click it once, everything turns black (like it does now), then you click it again, everything disappears and goes back to the original state. Important distinction, what I mean is...when one of the names in the box are not clicked. So if you clicked John Brown then moved to Jack Dorsey, the #1 at top should stay black. But if you were to click Jack Dorsey again, i.e. you 'unclicked' it, then it should disappear. Also, how do I tighten it up, so that it responds quicker. Now when you click it, it feels like there is a little bit of a lag between when it was clicked and when it responds. I use primefaces push to write a message in a p:notificationBar. if i push a message with specials characters (like russians char), I've got '?' in my message. How can I fix this problem ? Scale image to fit text boxes around borders

I have the following plot in Matlab: The image size may vary, and so may the length of the text boxes at the top and left. The problem is that most of the time, the text gets clipped by the edges of the figure. I am using this as a workaround: set(gca,'Position',[0.25 0.25 0.5 0.5]); As you can see, I am simply adding a larger border around the plot so that there is more room for the text. While this scaling works for one zoom level, if I maximize my plot window I get way too much empty space, and if I shrink my plot window, I get clipping again. Is there a more intelligent way to add these labels to use the minimum amount of space while making sure that the text does not get clipped?

how to prevent divs from overlapping when using no-wrap across table cells

I'm trying to create an events calendar which has a somewhat 'gantt' chart like bar representing the times of an event, along with the time listed. I've uploaded a page showing the problem As you can see, the problem is that in the 3rd cell, the event div is being overlapped by the previous event div which goes outside the boundary of the cell. The event from the 2nd cell SHOULD expand beyond the cell border, but what I'm trying to get to happen is that WHEN the event from the 2nd cell expands into the 3rd cell, the event on the 3rd cell starts a new line. I believe the problem exists because of the nowrap on the time, but I want the time and in some cases the bar to cross the cell boundary when the time goes from one day to another. All that works now, but I'm having a problem with events overlapping when an event goes from one day to another. I've tried all sorts of :even cells having a different padding, etc. but all these solutions seem to bring up more problems. Is there a way get the no-wrap to force a new long when it crosses into the next cell? or any other solution to this issue?

Convert HTML + CSS to PDF with PHP?

Ok, I'm now banging my head against a brick wall with this one. I have an HTML (not XHTML) document that renders fine in Firefox 3 and IE 7. It uses fairly basic CSS to style it and renders fine in HTML. I'm now after a way of converting it to PDF. I have tried: DOMPDF: it had huge problems with tables. I factored out my large nested tables and it helped (before it was just consuming up to 128M of memory then dying--thats my limit on memory in php.ini) but it makes a complete mess of tables and doesn't seem to get images. The tables were just basic stuff with some border styles to add some lines at various points; HTML2PDF and HTML2PS: I actually had better luck with this. It rendered some of the images (all the images are Google Chart URLs) and the table formatting was much better but it seemed to have some complexity problem I haven't figured out yet and kept dying with unknown node_type() errors. Not sure where to go from here; and Htmldoc: this seems to work fine on basic HTML but has almost no support for CSS whatsoever so you have to do everything in HTML (I didn't realize it was still 2001 in Htmldoc-land...) so it's useless to me. I tried a Windows app called Html2Pdf Pilot that actually did a pretty decent job but I need something that at a minimum runs on Linux and ideally runs on-demand via PHP on the Webserver. I really can't believe I'm this stuck. Am I missing something?

jQuery ajax delete script not actually deleting.

I have a little personal webapp that I'm working on. I have a link that, when clicked, is supposed to make an ajax call to a php that is supposed to delete that info from a database. For some unknown reason, it won't actually delete the row from the database. I've tried everything I know, but still nothing. I'm sure it's something incredibly easy... Here are the scripts involved. How can I enable child inputs text selection in Mozilla Firefox using CSS?

Actual element tags are not getting captured.

The output from the variable "showContent" gives just the text content but not along with the table tags. How can this be resolved. This repeater looks like this: <asp:Repeater ID="myRepeater" runat="server" OnLoad="myRepeater_Load"> <HeaderTemplate> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> </HeaderTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <tr><td><my:CustomControl ID="myControl" runat="server" OnLoad="myControl_Load" /> </td></tr> </ItemTemplate> <FooterTemplate> </table> </FooterTemplate> </asp:Repeater> I bind to the Repeater through the myRepeater_Load event handler. My custom control is used to render an item within the Repeater. Because of this, I am trying to set properties on the custom control during the myControl_Load event handler. However, I do not know how to access the current item during the myControl_Load event. Is there a way I can pass along the current item or access the current item during the myControl_Load event? If so, how? Thank you,

IE bug with TD's tables and whitespace?

Hi there, I have a page that is using tables, in FF etc it works perfect, but in IE7 it causes issues, its basically where the four corners have a td and and img (its a rounded corner form) .. if i remove the whitespace from the document it fixes the issue.. What actually happens is that it messes up the tables.. it puts a thin white line between the upper tr that holds the 2 corners and the next tr I need to remove the the whitespace between the img and the TD, is there a better work around, as i have lots and not only that if i reformat the document the problem returns.. here is a simple example.. <table width="100%" height="418" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#F04A23" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px"> <tr> <td width="12" align="left" valign="top"> <img src="content/images/corner_left.gif" width="12" height="12" /> </td> as you can see there is white space between img and td... and i remove it so it looks like this <img src="content/images/corner_left.gif" width="12" height="12" /></td> the problem is gone, (notice the td and image are right next to each other) Any ideas, i tried setting all sorts of css, padding 0px, margins 0px etc ... Any ideas really appreciated

qTip jQuery Plugin not always Firing

Hi, I am using the qTip jquery plugin qTip plugin for a website I'm working on based on another thread I raised here: stack overflow thread My question is, I have a navigation bar running along the top of my screen which is basically sets the title attribute based on the tab menu you are in, these are all stored within a javascript array. For example, I have three menu options running along the top of the screen, say Menu A, Menu B and Menu C. I also have an information image positioned at the rightmost position of the nav bar, which I set the title attribute, based on the Menu option selected in the Nav Bar. For example: Menu A => myRole[0] = "Admin" Menu B => myRole[1] = "Manager" Menu C => myRole[2] = "Guest" So basically as the user clicks on each of the menus in the nav bar, I set the title attribute in the information image to either "Admin","Manager" or "Guest". At startup, the qTip plugin works and displays "Admin" when I hover over it but when I change the menu to Menu C, it still displays "Admin" instead of "Guest" From the looks of it, it doesn't seem to be calling the qTip plugin, which I have positioned at the footer of the screen (see actual code below). SWT: scrollable area within a tab

I am trying to add a scrollable area to my tabbed window. So far I have a CTabFolder in a shell. I have added 5 CTabItems to it and everything works as expected. On one of my CTabItems the contents are too big to fit on the screen so I would like to be able to scroll. The contents is a collection of Groups each containing various widgets. So the CTabFolder is created as follows: CTabFolder tabs = new CTabFolder(shell, SWT.BORDER); tabs.setSimple(false); tabs.setUnselectedImageVisible(false); tabs.setUnselectedCloseVisible(false); tabs.setMinimizeVisible(false); tabs.setMaximizeVisible(false); FormData tabsLayoutData = new FormData(); tabsLayoutData.top = new FormAttachment(0, 5); tabsLayoutData.left = new FormAttachment(0, 5); tabsLayoutData.bottom = new FormAttachment(92, 0); tabsLayoutData.right = new FormAttachment(100, -5); tabs.setLayoutData(tabsLayoutData); Then the CTabItem: CTabItem tab = new CTabItem(tabs, SWT.NONE); tab.setText("Role"); Then the contents: Composite tabArea = new Composite(tabs, SWT.V_SCROLL); tabArea.setLayout(new FormLayout()); tab.setControl(tabArea); So the groups contained within the tab are created with tabArea as the parent and everything appears as you would expect. The problem is though that the vertical scroll bar is always present but doesn't seem to do anything. The contents are chopped off at the bottom of the tabArea composite. Is there anything else I need to do to get the scrolling to work properly?

Quite ok, but it must be more advanced, we should catch an offset and give a class to .over block: if offset from right (corner of browser window) less than 150px, then add class "right" for a .over block. if offset from right more than 150px - add class "left" for a .over block. How can we do it?

How can I get all content within <td> tag using a HTML Agility Pack?

So I'm writing an application that will do a little screen scrapping. I'm using the HTML Agility Pack to load an entire HTML page into an instance of HtmlDocoument called doc. Now I want to parse that doc, looking for this: <table border="0" cellspacing="3"> <tr><td>First rows stuff</td></tr> <tr> <td> The data I want is in here <br /> and it's seperated by these annoying <br /> 's. No id's, classes, or even a single <p> tag. </p> Just a bunch of <br /> tags. </td> </tr> </table> So I just need to get the data within the 2nd row. How can I do this? Should I use a regex or something else?

How can I create "glass" effect on my own UIViews?

Hi there, I'm working on an iPhone app that has some non-rectangular UI elements. Currently, I'm subclassing UIView, and in drawRect I'm using a CGPathRef to draw black border and a color-filled interior. I'd like to make these items look more like "buttons", though, so I'd like to have some of the same sort of "glass effects" that are used on e.g. the icons for an iPhone app (when you don't set UIPrerenderedIcon to true), or in other buttons. I hunted around, and found this, which seems to be close to what I need: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/422066/gradients-on-uiview-and-uilabels-on-iphone But I'm having difficulty figuring out how to clip the gradient to my shape. It seems like the mask property on the view would be the right place to go, which seems like it would call for me to create a new CALayer object, with the clipping somehow applied to it. I'm hoping there's some nice convenience function for doing this, though if I need to write something more complicated, that's OK, too. I'm just having difficulty figuring out how to apply the path as a mask. I'm unsure if I need to create a new drawing context and draw the path into it? And then use CGContextClip? I think I've got a lot of the right pieces figured out, I'm just having difficulty understanding how to assemble them. Could someone please point me in the right direction? (I'm happy to read more in the docs, just point me in the right direction, please.)
