  • 3D Graphics with XNA Game Studio 4.0 bug in light map?

    - by Eibis
    i'm following the tutorials on 3D Graphics with XNA Game Studio 4.0 and I came up with an horrible effect when I tried to implement the Light Map http://i.stack.imgur.com/BUWvU.jpg this effect shows up when I look towards the center of the house (and it moves with me). it has this shape because I'm using a sphere to represent light; using other light shapes gives different results. I'm using a class PreLightingRenderer: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics; using Dhpoware; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Content; namespace XNAFirstPersonCamera { public class PrelightingRenderer { // Normal, depth, and light map render targets RenderTarget2D depthTarg; RenderTarget2D normalTarg; } technique Technique1 { pass Pass1 { VertexShader = compile vs_1_1 VertexShaderFunction(); PixelShader = compile ps_2_0 PixelShaderFunction(); } } I don't have any idea on what's wrong... googling the web I found that this tutorial may have some bug but I don't know if it's the LightModel fault (the sphere) or in a shader or in the class PrelightingRenderer. Any help is very appreciated, thank you for reading!

  • Java Animation Memory Overload [on hold]

    - by user2425429
    I need a way to reduce the memory usage of these programs while keeping the functionality. Every time I add 50 milliseconds or so to the set&display loop in AnimationTest1, it throws an out of memory error. Here is the code I have now: import java.awt.DisplayMode; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.Image; import java.awt.Polygon; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import java.util.concurrent.Executor; import java.util.concurrent.Executors; import javax.swing.ImageIcon; public class AnimationTest1 { public static void main(String args[]) { AnimationTest1 test = new AnimationTest1(); test.run(); } private static final DisplayMode POSSIBLE_MODES[] = { new DisplayMode(800, 600, 32, 0), new DisplayMode(800, 600, 24, 0), new DisplayMode(800, 600, 16, 0), new DisplayMode(640, 480, 32, 0), new DisplayMode(640, 480, 24, 0), new DisplayMode(640, 480, 16, 0) }; private static final long DEMO_TIME = 4000; private ScreenManager screen; private Image bgImage; private Animation anim; public void loadImages() { // create animation List<Polygon> polygons=new ArrayList(); int[] x=new int[]{20,4,4,20,40,56,56,40}; int[] y=new int[]{20,32,40,44,44,40,32,20}; polygons.add(new Polygon(x,y,8)); anim = new Animation(); //# of frames long startTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); long currTimer = startTime; long elapsedTime = 0; boolean animated = false; Graphics2D g = screen.getGraphics(); int width=200; int height=200; //set&display loop while (currTimer - startTime < DEMO_TIME*2) { //draw the polygons if(!animated){ for(int j=0; j<polygons.size();j++){ for(int pos=0; pos<polygons.get(j).npoints; pos++){ polygons.get(j).xpoints[pos]+=1; } } anim.setNewPolyFrame(polygons , width , height , 64); } else{ // update animation anim.update(elapsedTime); draw(g); g.dispose(); screen.update(); try{ Thread.sleep(20); } catch(InterruptedException ie){} } if(currTimer - startTime == DEMO_TIME) animated=true; elapsedTime = System.currentTimeMillis() - currTimer; currTimer += elapsedTime; } } public void run() { screen = new ScreenManager(); try { DisplayMode displayMode = screen.findFirstCompatibleMode(POSSIBLE_MODES); screen.setFullScreen(displayMode); loadImages(); } finally { screen.restoreScreen(); } } public void draw(Graphics g) { // draw background g.drawImage(bgImage, 0, 0, null); // draw image g.drawImage(anim.getImage(), 0, 0, null); } } ScreenManager: import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.DisplayMode; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.GraphicsConfiguration; import java.awt.GraphicsDevice; import java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment; import java.awt.Toolkit; import java.awt.Window; import java.awt.event.KeyListener; import java.awt.event.MouseListener; import java.awt.image.BufferStrategy; import java.awt.image.BufferedImage; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; public class ScreenManager extends JPanel { private GraphicsDevice device; /** Creates a new ScreenManager object. */ public ScreenManager() { GraphicsEnvironment environment=GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment(); device = environment.getDefaultScreenDevice(); setBackground(Color.white); } /** Returns a list of compatible display modes for the default device on the system. */ public DisplayMode[] getCompatibleDisplayModes() { return device.getDisplayModes(); } /** Returns the first compatible mode in a list of modes.     Hello all, I am trying to post a from in an asp.net mvc page which contains files(user uploads) and a few string fields. However, when I click on the submit I get the following error; The input is not a valid Base-64 string as it contains a non-base 64 character, more than two padding characters, or a non-white space character among the padding characters. does anyone have an idea what is this about? I cannot debug it since it gives the error at the time of the binding of the page. Any help would be appreciated, cas

  • WPF Window Style not working at runtime

    - by Christian Pena
    Hi, I created a WPF application in Visual Studio 2010 Express (C#) and added the text below to the Application.Resources in App.xaml. I see the style applied to the window in the designer, but when I run the application, the window background is white. Running in Windows XP on BootCamp on a MacBook Pro if that is a factor. Thanks in advance, Christian <Style TargetType="{x:Type Window}"> <Setter Property="Background"> <Setter.Value> <LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0,0" EndPoint="0,1"> <GradientStop Offset="0" Color="WhiteSmoke" /> <GradientStop Offset="1" Color="Silver" /> </LinearGradientBrush> </Setter.Value> </Setter> <Setter Property="Padding" Value="20" /> </Style>

  • Use android.R.layout.simple_list_item_1 with a light theme

    - by Felix
    I have learned that when using android:entries with a ListView, it uses android.R.layout.simple_list_item_1 as the layout for a list item and android.R.id.text1 as the ID of the TextView inside that layout. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Knowing this, I wanted to create my own adapter but use the same layout resources, in order to provide UI consistency with the platform. Thus, I tried the following: mAdapter = new SimpleCursorAdapter( getApplicationContext(), android.R.layout.simple_list_item_1, mSites, new String[] { SitesDatabase.KEY_SITE }, new int[] { android.R.id.text1 } ); Unfortunately, because I am using a light theme (I have android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Light" in my <application>), the list items appear with white text, making them unreadable. However, when using android:entries to specify a static list of items, the items appear correctly, with black text color. What am I doing wrong? How can I make my dynamic adapter use the standard layout but work with a light theme?

  • UITableViewCell with custom gradient background, with another gradient as highlight color

    - by Rich
    I have a custom UITableViewCell with a custom layout. I wanted a gradient background, so in my UITableViewDelegate cellForRowAtIndexPath: method, I create a CAGradientLayer and add it to the cell's layer with insertSubLayer:atIndex: (using index 0). This works just fine except for two things: Most importantly, I can't figure out how to change to a different gradient color when the row is highlighted. I have tried a couple things, but I'm just not familiar enough with the framework to get it working. Where would be the ideal place to put that code, inside the table delegate or the cell itself? Also, there's a 1px white space in between each cell in the table. I have a background color on the main view, a background color on the table, and a background color on the cell. Is there some kind of padding or spacer by default in a UITableView?

  • Showing Master/Detail UITableView inside UIPopOverController

    - by tilomitra
    I have a UIPopOverController that shows a UIViewController with a UITableview in its view. The cells in the table have a detailedView, but whenever that view gets pushed, the PopOverController increases in size, and I am left with all this white space inside it. Question is this: Can anyone show me how I can have a Master/Detail UITableview show inside a PopOverController whilst preserving its dimensions? Some of my code if it helps you: //Creating the PopOver with the UIViewController addTaskViewController = [[AddTaskViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"AddTaskViewController" bundle:nil]; UINavigationController *addTaskNavController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:addTaskViewController]; UIPopoverController *addTaskPopOver = [[UIPopoverController alloc] initWithContentViewController:addTaskNavController]; self.addTaskPopOverController = addTaskPopOver; addTaskPopOverController.delegate = self; //...neccessary releases... //Showing the popover when a button is pressed - (void) addTasksButtonPressed:(id)sender { //Display the Popover containing a view from AddTaskViewController [self.addTaskPopOverController setPopoverContentSize:CGSizeMake(400, 700)]; [addTaskPopOverController presentPopoverFromBarButtonItem:sender permittedArrowDirections:UIPopoverArrowDirectionUp animated:YES]; }

  • Simple CSS Scale-Nine Layout

    - by rfkrocktk
    After all these years, I still haven't learned CSS layout, so bear with me. I'm trying to create a container with rounded corners that I generated in Photoshop. The background of the container is white, so I have eight images: top-left-corner, top, top-right-corner, right, bottom-right-corner, bottom, bottom-left-corner, and left. The edges have a drop shadow around them so yes, I do need 8 sides. How would I lay this out in CSS? I tried and failed miserably to do it with a table + CSS. How would I do it using divs?

  • How to export pdf page as a image using pdfsharp .net library ?

    - by vi.su.

  • opencv fails to open avi with ffdshow codec

    - by Seb
    Hey everyone, I am currently using OpenCV to try and open an AVI file that was made using ffdshow. The program manages to open the video file and play however, the video file is in black and white and is slightly skewed. VLC and windows media player can run it fine. Is there anything that I am able to do to install the ffdshow codec into OpenCV or do I have to covert each file with ffdshow used into appropriate OpenCV codec formats? Thank you in advance for your help.

  • How do I prevent flickering on CListCtrl?

    - by Sorin Sbarnea
    I'm using a CListCtrl/CListView report view (LVS_REPORT) in virtual mode (LVS_OWNERDATA) with LVS_EX_DOUBLEBUFFER enabled and I encounter ugly flickering. Double buffer have a real effect but it doesn't stop all flickering (without it very slow). I'm not looking for switching to other controls that would require a high amount of rework (like ObjectListView) How does the flickering behaves: * on column resize - the background is first clean using lightgray and after this is displayed the text (background is white) * on mouse scroll (animated) - for a very short time there is lightgray-bar displayed in the area where new lines are to be displayed. It looks like it does clean the background using the default window background color (lightgray) for the area where it has to redraw. How do I solve the flickering problem?

  • How to resize width of a Jquery dialog after initialization

    - by Draco
    Hi, I'm trying to change the width of a JQuery dialog after it has been initialized. Here is my initialization: $(function() { $("#dialogContainer").dialog({ title: 'Some title', resizable: false, bgiframe: true, overlay: { opacity: 0.3, background: "white" }, position: [200, 200], autoOpen: false, height: 150, width: 'auto' modal: true, buttons: { 'ok': function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } } }); }); And this is what I am doing to change the width of it in some other function: $("#dialogBox").dialog('option','width',700); But this doesn't work. The width of the dialog is the width of the paragraph that's first displayed in it. Was I suppose to do anything else? Here is the html for the dialog: <div id = 'dialogContainer'> <p id = 'message'></p> </div>

  • iPhone UITextField controlling background color

    - by Stephen Joy
    Greetings, I am unable to control the background color of a UITextField with a borderStyle= UITextBorderStyleRoundedRect. With this border style the backgroundColor property only seems to control a very narrow line along the inner edge of the rounded rectangle. The rest of the field remains white. However, if the borderStyle is set to UIBorderStyle=UITextBorderStyleBezel then the entire background of the UITextField is controlled by its backgroundColor property. Is this a feature? Is there a way to control the backgroundColor of a UITextField with a borderStyle=UITextBorderStyleRoundedRect? Thanks, Stephen

  • Unable to hide TabBar on sub view in iphone

    - by iPhoneDev
    Hello Everyone, My app flow requires Navigation and TabBar controller. So I decided to use TabBar template. Since my first page is login which do not require TabBar, I used presentModelViewController to show Login screen which have Navigation bar if user Navigate to Forgot password. LoginView *rootView = [[[LoginView alloc] init] autorelease]; navigationController= [[[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:rootView] autorelease]; [tabBarController presentModalViewController:navigationController animated:FALSE]; Ones the user login I dismiss view controller and show TabBar with 5 Tab and Each Tab contain TabaleView. User select any row and navigate to sub view. The issue is, on sub view I dont need tab bar. (TabBar is needed ONLY on dashboard). If I hide tabBar a white space remain there. Is there any workaround to solve this issue? Please find the screen shot Firt Screen ( presentModelViewController): Second Screen: Issue on sub view:

  • C# ListView Detail, Highlight a single cell

    - by Mike Christiansen
    Hello, I'm using a ListView in C# to make a grid. I would like to find out a way to be able to highlight a specific cell, programatically. I only need to highlight one cell. I've experimented with Owner Drawn subitems, but using the below code, I get highlighted cells, but no text! Are there any ideas on how to get this working? Thanks for your help. //m_PC.Location is the X,Y coordinates of the highlighted cell. void listView1_DrawSubItem(object sender, DrawListViewSubItemEventArgs e) { if ((e.ItemIndex == m_PC.Location.Y) && (e.Item.SubItems.IndexOf(e.SubItem) == m_PC.Location.X)) e.SubItem.BackColor = Color.Blue; else e.SubItem.BackColor = Color.White; e.DrawBackground(); e.DrawText(); }

  • UIScrollView issue with autorotation and content scaling

    - by boliva
    Hi, I'm building a new (autorotating) iPad app that consists mainly of a screen sized UIScrollView that contains an UIImageView for an image which is 5 times the iPad screen resolution while in portrait mode (3840x1024). What I haven't been able to accomplish is that whenever the device rotates (to whichever orientation) the imageView bounds and the scrollView contentSize asjusts the image for the new height (maintaining its aspect ratio), making the height of the image to always fit the device height for the given orientation (so in the particular case of this image, it would get shown as 2880x768). I tried different combinations of autoresizingMask and contentMode for the imageView but the closer I've been able to get is to effectively display the image at the desired size but with a white padding around it and into the scrollView content (to make up for the original orientation contentSize). I also tried recalculating the scrollView contentSize in the didRotate.../viewWillAnimate... rotation-related methods in my viewController class, with no avail. Best regards and thanks for your time

  • WPF: RenderOptions.EdgeMode="Unspecified" vs "Alias" override global setting with local setting

    - by msfanboy
    Hello, in the ressource-tag of my MainWindowView.xaml I have this markup: RenderOptions.EdgeMode="Aliased" to get a general sharp look of my whole application. Using mostly rectangular shapes/controls this works fine. But for my validation error symbols I use a red ellipse with a white cross or "X" in it. The ellipse is using now the global "Aliased" settings what looks not good because I can see the pixelated border of the ellipse. Using now does NOT change anything ??? I always set in wpf local settings override global settings ?

  • Laplacian of Gaussian: how does it work? (opencv)

    - by maximus
    Does anybody know how does it work and how to do it using opencv? Laplacian can be calculated using opencv, but the result is not what I expected. I mean I expect the image to be approximately constant contrast at background regions, but it is black, and edges are white. There are a lot of noise also, even after gauss filter. I filter image using gaussian filter and then apply laplace. I think what I want is done by a different way.

  • Good GUI Design Tool to mock up iPhone & Android applications

    - by Peter Delaney
    I am about to embark on developing a mobile application for both the iPhone and the Android based phone. I have most of my gui mock ups written down on a white board and some in my head. I need to put them down on paper so I can relay my designs to others in my team. I was wondering what the best on-line gui mockup tool I could use? I have a lot of experience with Visio and I truly like it. I want a tool that would be web based so I could collaborate with others on the team. Does anyone have a suggestion for an easy gui mockup tool that I could use?

  • How to mix colors "naturally" with C#?

    - by crono
    I have to mix some colors in a natural way. This means blue + yellow = green blue + red = purple and so on. I got the colors as RGB-Values. When I try to mix them I got the right "RGB"-results like green + red = yellow yellow + blue = white but not the right "natural-wet-paint"-results. Any good idea how to mix RGB in a natural way? It would be great if someone knew a solution within the Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics namespace but a generic solution would also help :)
