• Shared email acct - how to move sent mail from all users to shared "sent items"

  Hi, I've set up a shared email account at Exchange, which several users have access to, as a secondary mailbox (along with their personal mailbox) I would like to know if the following is possible all replies and/or mail created when "in" the shared account, is sent from the shared account all sent mail end up in the sent mail folder of the shared account, not the individual users sent mail folders users can set custom signatures when sending mail from the shared account Is this possible to accomplish with Exchange 2007/Outlook, using server and/or clientside rules? • Fake sent email appear in my sent items folder

  I have an email listed as being sent by my outlook account that I did not send. In order to figure out who it was sent to, I forwarded it to the same address (hotmail account) and received a reply that there was no such address. I've tried looking up that address and it does not appear to exist. Can someone fake an email and have it appear in my outlook sent items folder as being sent by me? How can I tell who did this?

• Mac Mail sent messages not in sent folder

  Hi. My powerbook G4 has been lobbying for a furlough recently, and its latest prank is to not show sent messages in my sent mailbox. I have always had a copy of every sent message, and now, for some unknown reason, I can only see sent messages from May 7 and earlier. When I did a test, and sent myself an email, it shows up fine in my inbox, but there's nothing in the sent folder. Weird. It also has the little arrow next to messages that I replied to in the inbox. I guess I'm going to have to cc myself on everything until I get this fixed. Also, it's got another new trick, which I'm assuming is unrelated, but I mention it here just in case it is: the battery says it's "good" and has a cycle count of 0, and a full charge capacity of 2139, but for some reason it's all of a sudden not charging when it's plugged in. It works fine when connected to the wall, but there is no battery life at all. Zip. Any thoughts? Is it just time for a new 'book? This one just got back from Apple, having its harddrive replaced for the fourth time (for free, but seriously, this thing is a lemon). Thanks so much, Elizabeth

• Messages Disappeared from Outlook Sent Folder

  Two days ago almost all of the messages in my Microsoft Outlook sent folder disappeared. I say "almost all" because only the messages from the past 2 weeks remain. This led me to believe that they must have been "auto archived," but I can't find an archive file that contains my messages. I've checked the folder where Outlook says it archives messages, but there's not much there. I've changed my settings to prevent Outlook from auto-archiving my messages in the future, but still need the ones that have disappeared. Can anybody help me find my missing messages?

• Graphical Email-client with Sent-emails -directory?

  I asked this question here but without any answer. So I am now looking something to replace Evolution -email-client. So does there exist a graphical Email-client with Sent-directory? Or is it specified system-wide? P.s. I know Mutt has this feature but I cannot understand how graphical Email -clients work in this, perhaps I cannot just find this feature -- I don't know. Basically, I just want to see emails that I have sent. My email -client has many emails connected. Perhaps related I am also interested to have this kind of feature in Android -device, more here. Where do Sent -emails go in Evolution?

I have already covered the Last 100 Messages Received query so what about sent messages? In BizTalk 2004 we had a query in HAT to return the messages sent in the last day.  While not a direct replacement the following query replicates some of the usefullness of this query in a BizTalk 2009 Hatless environment. • Server-Sent Events using GlassFish (TOTD #179)

  Bhakti blogged about Server-Sent Events on GlassFish and I've been planning to try it out for past some days. Finally, I took some time out today to learn about it and build a simplistic example showcasing the touch points. Server-Sent Events is developed as part of HTML5 specification and provides push notifications from a server to a browser client in the form of DOM events. It is defined as a cross-browser JavaScript API called EventSource. The client creates an EventSource by requesting a particular URL and registers an onmessage event listener to receive the event notifications. This can be done as shown var url = 'http://' + document.location.host + '/glassfish-sse/simple';eventSource = new EventSource(url);eventSource.onmessage = function (event) { var theParagraph = document.createElement('p'); theParagraph.innerHTML = event.data.toString(); document.body.appendChild(theParagraph);} This code subscribes to a URL, receives the data in the event listener, adds it to a HTML paragraph element, and displays it in the document. This is where you'll parse JSON and other processing to display if some other data format is received from the URL. The URL to which the EventSource is subscribed to is updated on the server side and there are multipe ways to do that. • How to Export Email "Sent" Folder?

  A client had her web site and email hosted at "company A". She was switching to "company B" but didn't want to lose her email. I set up a Gmail account, POPed into her webmail account, and pulled the entire inbox into Gmail (for later transfer to her new host). But I forgot about the "sent" folder. Although the hosting plan is still up and running, she changed her domain record to point to the new host. So I can't access the old webmail account via POP or IMAP because the email address needed for authentication now resolves to the new host. Is there any way I can get the contents of the sent folder without having to do a "forward" one message at a time (there are hundreds)?

Obviously various factors will effect the number, and you want as little packet data as possible to keep things smooth, but what is a good number for that? (Using : networksession.bytespersecondsent and networksession.bytespersecondreceived to measure the number.)

• Email sent via Google via relayhost being marked as spam

  Company email hosted by Google Apps. Company PBX in-house is Elastix. All voicemails received on the extensions of Elastix are supposed to be emailed by the CentOS server (Postfix) to the email address of the employee. Using relayhost on postfix, I am sending those emails through Google Apps (smtp.gmail.com), but some of these voicemail emails end up in the spam. Sending it through Google, and sending it to an email hosted by Google - yet there's spam. Email sent from the Google Apps interface - no complaints of it going to spam - just from the Elastix server. I've just asked our DNS domain guys to add spf records, but is that all that's needed? Some help please!

• Protecting the integrity of a game state while minimizing amount of data sent

  I'm developing a game in PHP/jQuery, and naturally have to be wary of any sort of data coming from the client. At present, I have tables of data representing the map (2D roguelike), monsters, items, and player(s). Initially, my thought was to simply package it all in a JSON object and send it every game tick, however when actually looking at the data I realized that's quite a large packet to be sending. So, my question is what is a good approach for minimizing data sent to the client? Obviously I would need to figure out some way of validating whatever it sends back. Initially we'd hoped to do some minimal verification on the client-side, but each time we thought of one thing we could do it is immediately invalidated with tools like Firebug. Kind of an open question I realize, but we want to get this right before we move on with our implementation so we don't have to shoehorn in bugfixes later on.

  When using SMTP to send mails (email client or via a script), mails are normally not seen in the Sent folder on the email provider's server. But it does get reflected in the Sent folders of Gmail (Google Apps). Is is not mandatory to save the mail in the Sent folder of the server too ? I consider Sent mails as my log for mails sent automatically.

• SSH Public Key - No supported authentication methods available (server sent public key)

  I have a 12.10 server setup in a virtual machine with its network set to bridged (essentially will be seen as a computer connected to my switch). I installed opensshd via apt-get and was able to connect to the server using putty with my username and password. I then set about trying to get it to use public/private key authentication. I did the following: Generated the keys using PuttyGen. Moved the public key to /etc/ssh/myusername/authorized_keys (I am using encrypted home directories). Set up sshd_config like so: PubkeyAuthentication yes AuthorizedKeysFile /etc/ssh/%u/authorized_keys StrictModes no PasswordAuthentication no UsePAM yes When I connect using putty or WinSCP, I get an error saying No supported authentication methods available (server sent public key). • Non-Registry Fix for Secondary Mailboxes Sent Items

  There is a known issue with Outlook and Exchange where "secondary" mailboxes which are mounted in the same profile, e.g. "John Doe" + CorpMailbox1, CorpMailbox2, CorpMailbox3 will place "sent items" from the secondary mailboxes (e.g. CorpMailbox1) in the user's (e.g. "John Doe") Sent Items folder. There is a registry value (something like DelegateSentItems) to semi-fix this, but I'm looking for an Exchange-side solution. It seems like, at some point, an admin made CC rules to fix this, and for the mailboxes where I see a BCC rule: any item sent to [address] BCC to [address]. The behavior "fixes" the issue, but when I duplicate this work-around for new shared mailboxes, the email ends up in the Inbox and not the Sent Items for the shared mailbox. I don't believe there is any outlook/client-side shenanigans going on, as the intended behavior for the older mailboxes works for new PCs/Users (new imagse) without any Outlook Mailbox Rules.

  Using Ubuntu 12.04. wget hangs in http request sent, awaiting response... in some sites. Browser's are not opening sites that are failed in wget. But in WinXP everything works.   Like the Topic says: Our Exchange Server accidentally forwards sent mails from one User to another User's Inbox. The sent mails are mostly to Outbound Adresses and they where successfully delivered but all those sent Mails are accidentally forwarded into our Info Mail account. There are no Outlook rules defined and the forward routing in exchange is not used, for such things. I really don´t know the cause of the problem and i don´t know where I have to look, because I´m new to exchange...

• Minimizing data sent over a webservice call on expensive connection

  I am working on a system that has many remote laptops all connected to the internet through cellular data connections. The application will synchronize periodically to a central database. The problem is, due to factors outside our control, the cost to move data across the cellular networks are spectacularly expensive. Currently the we are sending a compressed XML file across the wire where it is being processed and various things are done with (mainly stuffing it into a database). My first couple of thoughts were to convert that XML doc to json, just prior to transmission and convert back to XML just after receipt on the other end, and get some extra compression for free without changing much. Another thought was to test various other compression algorithms to determine the smallest one possible. Although, I am not entirely sure how much difference json vs xml would make once it is compressed. I thought that their must be resources available that address this problem from an information theory perspective. Does anyone know of any such resources or suggestions on what direction to go in. This developed on the MS .net stack on windows for reference.

I thought that the Google Chrome developer tools or the IE 9 developer tools do have such a feature, but again, I failed. Searching Google, I failed too. So my question is: Is there a client-side tool to monitor the content of JSON requests that a website sends to the server?

• AdSense sent an email saying my account has been approved when it already was approved

  My account has been approved and running adverts for quite sometime now. However, today I just got a message (it seems legitimate) from Google AdSense saying: Congratulations, your AdSense account has been approved to show AdSense ads on your own website. Within a few hours, you will begin to see live ads. Should I be concerned? They say that they review accounts to check for compliance, could this be some weird way of saying they rechecked my sites and they complied?

  I host a webservice, and provide my members with a Javascript bookmarklet, which loads a JS sript from my server. However, clients must be logged in, in order to receive the JS script. This works for almost everybody. However, some users on setups (i.e. browser/OS) that are known to work for other people have the following problem: when they request the script via the javascript bookmarklet from my server, their cookie from my server does not get included with the request, and as such they are always "not authenticated". I'm making the request in the following way: var myScript = eltCreate('script'); myScript.setAttribute('src','http://myserver.com/script'); document.body.appendChild(myScript); In a fit of confused desperation, I changed the script page to simply output "My cookie has [x] elements" where [x] is count($_COOKIE). If this extremely small subset of users requests the script via the normal method, the message reads "My cookie has 0 elements". When they access the URL directly in their browser, the message reads "My cookie has 7 elements". What on earth could be going on?!

  Ringo is a delegate of Paul's mailbox in Exchange, but when Ringo sends mail from Paul's mailbox, the recipient sees "Paul" in the sender field, rather than "Paul Sent On Behalf Of Ringo" Paul has set "Editor" permissions for Ringo to his mailbox, and Ringo has been granted "Send on behalf of" permissions in Exchange. Ringo did at one time have "Send As" permissions for Paul's mailbox in Exchange, but this has since been removed. This is also the case for all other delegates to Paul's mailbox. How do I make it so that emails sent by Paul's delegates show the "Sent On Behalf Of" information in the Sender field? Using Exchange Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007
