  Hail! I want to fetch image from NOT PUBLIC Google Site's page. If i open this link in browser it shows me login form then i enter username and password and then i can see the image. • Is there a way to apply a GPO to all but selective users? (SBS 2008)

  I've created a GPO in SBS 2008 that deploys and updates software. Unfortunately, one of our VPN users lives out in the sticks and has severe latency, so the start up processes and updates time out and take an awfully long time, if they ever complete at all. I'd like to apply this GPO to all auth'd users except for him, without having to create a new custom user group. Any thoughts?

  All frameworks aside, what are some of the common helper functions/prototype methods you use on a daily basis? Please note I am not arguing against frameworks. I've simply found that the majority of what I do on a daily basis can, most often, be done with a few dozen Array, String and Element.prototype methods. With the addition of a few helper functions like $ (getElementsById) and $$$ (getElementsByClass), I am able to satisfy some of the core benefits, however basic, of a much heavier framework. If you were to collect a small library of basic methods and functions to replace the core functionality of some of the popular frameworks, what would they be?

  Hi All, I am developing a REST API that supports two kinds of authentication protocols: login form authentication - for browser based clients. Simple Basic authentication - for non-browser clients. I developed a flow in which unauthenticated requests redirected to the "login form", the problem is that this is an undesired behavior for non-borwser clients! I thought to solve it by decide according to the "User-Agent" what to do: browsers will be redirected to the "login form" and non-browser clients will get the standard 401:Basic Authentication. A. What do you think about this solution? B. Is there a standard way in Java to check if the request came from browser, or do i need to develop this kind of mechanism by my own? Thanks in advance!

• Architectural decision : QT or Eclipse Platform ?

  We are in the process of designing a tool to be used with HDEM(High Definition Electron Microscope).We get stacks of 2D images from HDEM and first step is 'detecting borders' on the sections.After detecting edges of 2D slices ,next step is construct the 3D model using these 2D slices. This 'border detecting' algorithm(s) is/are implemented by one of professor and he has used and suggests to use C.(to gain high performance and probably will parallelise in future) We have to develop comprehensive UI ,3D viewer ,2D editor...etc and use this algorithm. Application should support usual features like project save/open.Undo,Redo...etc Our technology decisions are: A) Build entire platform from the scratch using QT. B) Use Eclipse Platform Our concerns are, if we choose A) we can easily integrate the 'border detecting' algorithm(s) because the development environment is C/C++ But we have to implement the basic features from the scratch. If we choose B) we get basic features from the Eclipse platform , but integrating C libraries going to be a tedious task. Any suggestions on this?

  I'm in the process of writing an OpenGL ES powered framework for my next Android game(s). Currently I'm supporting three different techniques of drawing sprites: the basic way: using vertex arrays (slow) using vertex-buffer-objects (VBOs) (faster) using the draw_texture extension (fastest, but only for basic sprites, i.e. no transforming) Vertex arrays are supported in OpenGL ES 1.0 and thus in every Android-device. I'm guessing most (if not all) of the current devices also support VBOs and draw_texture. Instead of guessing, I'd like to know the extensions supported by different devices. If majority of devices support VBOs, I could simplify my code and focus only on VBOs + draw_texture. It'd be helpful to know what different devices support, so if you have an Android-device, do report the extensions list please. :) String extensions = gl.glGetString(GL10.GL_EXTENSIONS); I've got a HTC Hero, so I can share those extensions next.

  Hello all, I have three weeks to perform the following basic task. I wish to create an online form in PHP that will get 5 numbers and with them: save the numbers to a MySQL DB do a simple computation on the numbers and return them as an output to the visitor I already have a domain, hosting and a MySQL database+user. I don't know PHP, or SQL or databases. I do have prior knowledge in C and R (which means I have some of the basics of programming, and I am not intimidated of a new languages). My question are: Am I missing something? is there some other skill I should have for this task that I don't know of? What is a good way to learn the skills needed for the task I described? • C++ Class Templates (Queue of a class)

  Ok, so I have my basic linked Queue class with basic functions such as front(), empty() etc.. and I have transformed it into a template. Now, I also have a class called Student. Which holds 2 values: Student name and Student Id. I can print out a student with the following code.. Student me("My Name", 2); cout << me << endl; Here is my display function for student: void display(ostream &out) const { out << "Student Name: " << name << "\tStudent Id: " << id << "\tAddress: " << this << endl; } Now it works fine, you can see the basic output. Now I'm declaring a queue like so.. Queue<Student> qstu; Storing data in this queue is fine, I can add new values and such.. now what I'm trying to do is print out my whole queue of students with: cout << qstu << endl; But its simply returning an address.. here is my display function for queues. void display(ostream & out) const { NodePointer ptr; ptr = myFront; while(ptr != NULL) { out << ptr->data << " "; ptr = ptr->next; } out << endl; } Now, based on this, I assume ptr-data is a Student type and I would assume this would work, but it doesn't. Is there something I'm missing? Also, when I Try: ptr->data.display(out); (Making the assumtion ptr-data is of type student, it does not work which tells me I am doing something wrong. Help on this would be much appreciated!

• CNAME to another domain fails on some office networks, why?

  Our domain "aspenfasteners.com" is hosted by Volusion. We have CNAME records "find" and "search" which point to site indexing accounts on www.picosearch.com. These addresses fail on SOME private office networks which have their own DNS. We suspect the problem comes from Volusion's own name servers, n2.volusion.com and n3.volusion.com. Volusion support on problems this technical is non-existant. We have tried an NSLOOKUP on find.aspenfasteners.com with level 2 debugging info, and we got the results below. Is it possible that the local DNS is recursing to Volusion's name servers, and that while Volusion DOES return the canonical name, they do NOT resolve the address? Can anybody with expertise in this sort of stuff PLEASE look at the NSLOOKUP below and tell me if we are right, because Volusion is giving me absolutely NO support on this topic. • How do I structure a GWT project?

  Hello, I have followed the basic GWT tutorial for creating a project in Eclipse. Now, I am trying to build off what I learned in the tutorial. I created a static utility class to perform some database connection logic. However, when I try to compile I get: [ERROR] Line 46: No source code is available for type com.sample.server.ConnectionUtil; did you forget to inherit a required module? Where can I put simple classes that I've created on my own? Do they have to be outside the package structure of the basic module, 'com.sample'? Or do I have to specify a whole new module in the gwt.xml file and inherit from that? There has to be something simple I'm missing.

  I'm building an NSPredicateEditor, and I want the ability to do advanced date comparison. I realize that I can build an NSPredicateEditorRowTemplate with a rightExpressionType of NSDateAttributeType, but the predicates I want to build need to be much more advanced than that. For example, I need to basic comparison like: dateKeypath < aDate dateKeypath <= aDate dateKeypath = aDate dateKeypath != aDate dateKeypath > aDate dateKeypath >= aDate These basic comparisons are quite easy to achieve, and I have these working. However, I also need to do comparisons like: dateKeypath isInTheLast n days (or weeks, months, years) dateKeypath isNotInTheLast n days (or weeks, months, years) dateKeypath between aDate and anotherDate How can I achieve these sorts of comparisons? I understand that I'll need to create a custom NSPredicateEditorRowTemplate, but I haven't found any clear documentation on how to achieve something like this. EDIT Bonus points are available for also knowing how to make these comparisons a full date-time (year-month-day-hour-minute-second) comparison (as NSDateAttributeType only has year-month-day granularity).

  I'm having trouble with what I think is a basic R task. Here's my sample dataframe named 'b' Winner Color Size Tom Yellow Med Jerry Yellow Lar Jane Blue Med where items in the Winner column are factors. I'm trying to change "Tom" in the dataframe to "Tom LLC" and I can't get it done. Here's what I tried: Simple way: b$winner[b$winner=='Tom'] = as.factor('Tom LLC') but that failed with "invalid factor level, NAs generated" Next I tried a more advanced route: name_reset = function (x, y, z) { if (x$winner == y) {x$winner = z} } b = adply(b,1,name_reset,'Tom','Tom LLC') but that failed with "Error in list_to_dataframe(res, attr(.data, "split_labels")) : Results are not equal lengths" I feel I'm missing something basic. • Add user in CentOS 5

  I created a new user in my CentOS web server with useradd. Added a password with passwd. But I can't log in with the user via SSH. I keep getting 'access denied'. It's all fairly standard stuff (including basic authentication) but there seem to be several ways to achieve this using Microsoft technologies and I don't really know where to start. These seem to be the options... 1) WCF 2) ASP.NET MVC 3) ADO.NET Data Services 4) Rest Starter Kit project templates? Which of these is the easiest and most "up-to-date" solution to creating a web service?

I don't want to use oAuth, becouse the mobile and embedded applications that are facing the biggest hurdle, as they may not be able to bring up and/or control the web browser. Also its a little complicate. I know, that HTTP basic authorisation is not safe, but it's so simple... I want to use it in my api. My question: i want to design a database, that will be used for a production facility of different types of products where each product has its own (number of) parameters. because i want the serial numbers to be in one tabel for overview purposes i have a problem with these different paraeters . One solution could be AEV, but it has its downsides, certainly because we have +- 5 products with every product +- 20.000 serial numbers (records). it looks a bit overkill to me... I just don't know how one could design a database so that you have an attribute in a mastertable that says: 'hey, you could find details of this record in THAT detail-table". 'in a way that you qould easely query the results) currenty i am using Visual Basic & Acces 2007. but i'm going to Visual Basic & MySQL. thanks for your help. Bob

• Considering getting into reverse engineering/disassembly

  Assuming a decent understanding of assembly on common CPU architectures (eg: x86), how can one explore a potential path (career, fun and profit, etc) into the field of reverse engineering? There is so little educational guides out there so it is difficult to understand what potential uses this has today (eg: is searching for buffer overflow exploits still common, or do stack monitoring programs make this obselete?). I am not looking for any step by step program, just some relevant information such as tips on how to efficiently find a specific area of a program. Basic things in the trade. As well as what it is currently being used for today. So to recap, what current uses does reverse engineering yield today? And how can one find some basic information on how to learn the trade (again it doesn't have to be step-by-step, just anything which can through a clue would be helpful).
