    Hi, Can I put a wireless router (for a laptop to talk to) which is configured to use DHCP on our work LAN ? I just need the laptop to be able to talk to the internet. Will it automatically get the gateway information when it is assigned an IP via DHCP ? Thanks Scott

    I have a 30 GB zip file containing an archive of digital materials available in the school library that I want to burn to DVD. Of course, 30 Gb is far too large for a single DVD and the content is already zipped. I'm open to ideas, but leaning towards suggestions that will help me automatically spread the file over multiple DVDs, including a simple program to stitch it back together again later.

    Can anyone tell me how to clear the cache in the Mail application on Snow Leopard? I noticed that it was automatically backing up my gmail messages so it ended up caching 11GB of emails even though that's more than my account. The only solution I seem to be able to find is to delete the files in /Users/me/Library/Mail/MyGmailAccount Is this the best solution or is there a better way?

    The 'Auto Shutdown computer after all downloads finish' extension that I used for Firefox 3.6 - Auto Shutdown 3.6.2D by InBasic , does not work with Firefox 4 or higher, even if I tweaked it to force its compatibility with versions of Firefox higher than 3.6. Can anyone recommend another extension, software, or solution that can automatically shutdown the computer after all downloads have finished in Firefox 4 or later versions? The OS I'm using is Windows 7.

I have the ToC set up fine, but is there a way to have it update automatically (at document open, save or otherwise)? Word help suggests that it should update upon opening the document, but that doesn't seem to happen. Any ideas?

    I am using the google dns servers most of the time, but for one particular wifi connection it blocks that ip so I have to revert back to automatically choosing DNS... The problem now is everytime I connect to this network, I have to change it back to automatic DNS manually (ironically), it's stuck on using the google DNS by default... It's a trivial problem, but would be fab if someone can help me out here...

    I am configuring an iLO using hponcfg by logging into the machine remotely and running hponcfg with scripts Mod_Directory.xml and then with Mod_Network.xml. I am enabling the DHCP on the device. But after the above scripts are executed successfully and upon rebooting the iLO, it shows the IP address to be 0.0.0.0. What is missing here, so that the iLO gets an IP from DHCP automatically after configuration?

The main problem is that every time I start it up, I have to go into Administrative Tools and start the needed services, such as DCOM, RTP, DHCP, etc etc. The only services that start automatically are: plug and play remote procedure server windows audio workstation All of the rest have to be started manually, in spite of the fact that they're listed as "automatic".     It's a HP ProLiant DL380 Generation 7, that has four hard drives, one is dead, I suppose that another one is dead too, but is there any way to force the array to rebuild again? The server has restarted while it was rebuilding an array. My windows server(2008) that is on it won't boot, it goes directly to system recovery screen. I have an image backup, would restoring it be my only option?If I restore, it will get back to regular automatically or will I have to configure something?

Ideally, I'm hoping for something that could be used like: nosleep myscript.sh Background Sometimes I start up long-running jobs like a manual backup or large file transfers and I've found that Windows often goes to sleep before these finish. I'd like to be able to start up the command and prevent sleep mode while the command is running, but have it automatically work again once the command has completed.
