• How to get parallel behavior in Java Script ?

  More or less I want to execute two functions in parallel. One way as I see is doing through SetTimeOut function. I have not completely gone through the ReactiveExentension, although it looks promising but may be overkill for my needs. Is there any framework which supports parallelism ? My use case is trivial, but I would like to know if anybody heavily needed parallelism in Java Script ? Thanks, Biswanath.

  Most often the cleanup rules (Preferences Java Code Style Clean Up) in Eclipse work perfectly and create nice-looking code. But sometimes, especially with comments and concatenated string snippets (like inline SQL queries), the cleanup just messes things up, and destroys my formatting. Is there a way to say to Eclipse "Don't touch this block of text! I have formatted it just the way I like, and you would make it just less readable"?

• Best way to render Tesselated Objects (OpenGL)

  I'm using the GLUTesselator for Polygons. Right now the vertex callback does glvertex2f and gltex2f. Would it be better simply to collect the verticies from the vertex callback in a std::vector then use gldrawarrays()? Or would this actually be less efficient since it has to put the verts and texture coordinates in a vector? Thanks

Is it possible to get the row that was updated in JQuery so that I can place an effect on it to make the change less subtle?   I am using the Jquery Validation plug-in, however i need to add a "custom rule", i have 2 date fields and i need to ensure that the end date is not less than the start date. My problem is how to pass the two fields in as elements. As i understand u set up a custom function something like this : function customValidationMethod(value, element, params){ } But can't see how i could use it with two fields, if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

  suppose we have simple polygon(without holes) with vertices (v0,v1,....vn) my aim is to determine if for given point p(x,y) any line segment connecting this point and any vertices of polygon is inside polygon or even for given two point p(x0,y0) `p(x1,y1)` line segment connecting these two point is inside polygon? i have searched many sites about this ,but i am still confused,generally i think we have to compare coordinates of vertices and by determing coordinates of which point is less or greater to another point's coordinates,we could determine location of any line segment,but i am not sure how correct is this,please help me

• Quicktime logo! Can it be hidden / disabled?

  Hi there, just wondering if it is possible to hide/disable the quicktime logo when displaying .MOV video on my site? Because the size of the video is large (3MB), I have included a rotating loading animation, however once the video player loads, the Quicktime logo hides the animation, which makes the user less likely in my opinion to wait for the movie to load?   Hey I'm wondering when accessing Zend_Registry in an application if you need to include getInstance() and if so, why? for example Zend_Registry::getInstance()-get('db'); vs. Zend_Registry::get('db'); they both seem to work with the later being less verbose. I vaguely understand that Zend_Registry is a singleton, which I think means there can only be one instance of it? so why would you need getInstance()?

  I'm looking at writing a application that need to be able to handle in the region of 200 connections / sec and was wondering if C# and .NET will handle this or if I need to really be looking at C++ to do this? It looks like SocketAsyncEventArgs may be the way to go but thought id check before I plough in to it. Each transaction should only last less than a second but could take up to 15 seconds each if that makes any difference.
