• VB.NET localization

  In my winform app in VB.NET I want to use the localization option. But i have a few questions/problems. I'm using a menu strip to select an other language. But it seems that is doesn't change my menustip text to my selected language. It does change my labels, buttons, and textboxes but menu strips don't seem to change when I choose another language. Also is it possible to get those resx files such as MyForm.fr-FR.resx compiled so it isn't an external file outside my app? Or to get those files in an Language folder at the same location of my app, so i don't have all those fr-FR, nl-Nl folders in the same location as my program?

• jquery validation of comtrols

  Hi , I am looking at validation of some text boxes for somethings like required, minlength, max length, email etc... I am able to get examples that work fine on submit button on page. I want to do this validation on a button click which will only raise a ajax request and not submit of page. On internet all the sample is found was with submit button. Is there a easy way to change this code a little bit o make it work for non submit button click or any new jquery or java plugin to do the same. I am using the jquery.validation.js for now. This works with submit buttons. Any kind of help with suggestion or help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

• Form for Telerik RadRibbonBar?

  I got the Telerik RadRibbonBar for free with the Express edition of vb a while back, but it did not come with any sort of form. It also, unfortunately, has the control buttons there automatically. How would I create a form which is resizable, and works like a standard winform, but doesn't have the top bar? I tried: FormBorderStyle = Sizable Text = Nothing ControlBox = False Unfortunately, when you maximize the window, it goes in front of the taskbar...and it has an ugly border when it isn't maximized. How can I: Change border color? Make it so it does not go in front of the taskbar? Thanks for the help! I'm surprised there is not some sort of form already made for this.

• Viewing large text file in a browser

  Hi, I need to write a text file viewer (not the directory tree, but the actual file contents) for use in a browser. It will be used to view large files. I want to give the user the ability to actually ummm, browse the file, ie prev page & next page buttons, while each page will show only a portion of the file. Two question: Is there anyway to pass the file descriptor through POST (or something) so that on each page I can keep reading from an already open file, and not starting all over again (again - huge files) Is there a way to read the file backwards? Will be very useful for browsing back in a file. Any other implementation ideas are very welcome. Thanks

  Hi Team, Using: http://home.aland.net/sundman/ to split a complex form in to 4 steps. As well as as the 'next, back and submit' form buttons, I have created a menu above the form: step 1, step 2, step 3, step 4 linking to the hash tags #: #, #1, #2, #3 so the visitor can decide which step they want to view / edit. This works fine in firefox, but in IE and Chrome it does not seem to work. Anyone have experience with hte jQuery history plugin that can tell me the best way to accomplish this? I would like to link to the form but it is in a password protected area and subject to our NDA. If need be I could try and replicate the issue with a form on our server and link here. Thanks, Jack

  hey all, when i run my flash file (test it) in the output panel i get the following error TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties. i read some where, that this was caused because one of the variables is set to null. after looking at my code i found out that the following line was causing this output arrSelectedIndex[i] = -1; this is later on used as the selected index in a group of radio buttons. my question is, would having the selected index set to -1 be an issue ? thanks

• Record AVAudioPlayer output using AVAudioRecorder

  In my app the user plays a sound by pressing a button. There are several buttons which can be played simultaneously. The sounds are played using AVAudioPlayer instances. I want to record the output of these instances using AVAudioRecorder. I have set it all up and a file is created and records but when I play it back it does not play any sound. It is just a silent file the length of the recording. Does anyone know if there is a setting I am missing with AVAudioPlayer or AVAudioRecorder? Thanks

  I am developing a control that is a rectangle area and will draw an ellipse in the rectangle area when a trigger occurs. This control will be able to host other controls like, textbox's, buttons, etc. so the circle will be drawn around them when triggered.   I am customizing the ajax html editor. I am creating a class which derives from ajax html editor, and overriding FillTopToolbar() method to have limited toolbar buttons. I am trying to use this in my aspx page. <%@ Register namespace="Content" tagprefix="edit" %> <edit:MyEditor runat="server" Width="100%" Height="250px"/> I am able to see the editor in my aspx page. The problem comes when I give an ID to the control <edit:QNAEditor ID="htmlEditor" runat="server" Width="100%" Height="250px"/> I get an error in the designer file in the below line. protected global::Content.MYHTMLEditor htmlEditor; I am not able to use it in code behind. I am using VS 2010. Please help me in this regard.

• Javascript Back Button - Stop the initial load of back button from working

  Hi, I'm using a javascript back button link and forward button link to control the user's history inside a modal/lightbox window. The challenge I have is when the modal window is launched, and the "back" and "forward" buttons are present for the user to click, if the initial javascript back button is clicked when the window opens, it actually closes the modal window, because the javascript history is taking the user back to the page PRIOR to the opening of modal window. So, in essence, I'm trying to disable the "back" button from working on the initial load of the modal/light box. <a href="javascript:history.go(-1)">Back Button</a> <a href="javascript:history.go(1)">Foward Button</a> Is this possible?

  There seems to be a difference between the iPhone simulator and actual device when checking if Twitter is available. I check if a Twitter account is setup by using this code: [SLComposeViewController isAvailableForServiceType:SLServiceTypeTwitter]; In the simulator there is a nice UIAlertView informing the user that there are no Twitter accounts setup and two buttons one for Settings and one for Cancel. However when I run my app on my device it will not show the above UIAlertView. Why is that? And how can I catch what button is tapped in the above UIAlertView (since I did not instantiate it?) • Using Navigation Controller in a subview of View based Applicatin

  Some one please help me with this. I am developing an iPhone app and have stared with View Based Application. I have buttons on my root view screen to take user to other views with their own nibs and classes. On one of those views I need to display a table getting data from SQLite database and then display detail of the selected item depending on the selection from the table. At later stage I also need to add forms to add data. Now, how to add a Navigation Controller in that view for drill down? Can we convert a View Controller to Navigation Controller just by adding a Navigation bar at the top?
