Best resource for serious Commodore 64 programming.

What is the best resource for serious Commodore 64 programming? Assume that serious programming on the Commodore 64 is not done in BASIC V2 that ships with the Commodore 64. I feel like most of the knowledge is tied up in old books and not available on the internet. All that I have found online are either very beginner style introductions to Commodore 64 programming (Hello world), or arcane demo-coder hacks to take advantage of strange parts of the hardware. I haven't found a well-explained list of opcodes, memory locations for system calls, and general mid-level examples and tips. Main portals I have found: lemon64 C-64 Scene Database c64web Actually hosted on a Commodore 64! Tools I have found: cc65 A C compiler that can target Commodore 64.

Associating Worksheets with their Names using OpenXML SDK 1.0

I'm using version 1.0 of Microsoft's OpenXML SDK to do some basic parsing of .xlsx files. I can get and parse the worksheets, and I can get a list of worksheet names, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to link up what name goes with what worksheet. I understand that an element like <sheet name="My Sheet" sheetId="1" r:id="rId1"/> in the workbook is linked up to a specific worksheet via the relationships defined in xl/_rels.xml, but I can't see where any of the relationship info is exposed in the API. I'm using C#, but any VB.NET examples would be just as helpful. I feel like this should be dead simple, but I can't figure it out. It also looks like it may be more straightforward in v2.0 of the SDK, but upgrading isn't an option at the moment.

Del.icio.us get xml of all posts

Im trying to get all of my posts in a delicious account to an MySql DB. Since delicious exports xml I think it wont be too complicated, but being new to it I cant really make sense of the api... I believe I have to query it as so: https://api.del.icio.us/v1/posts/all? But one catch is that im using an yahoo id for that account which I need to do it as follows: "To access data from accounts created using a Yahoo! ID, use the same API's as below, but change the path to /v2, and make HTTP requests using OAuth as provided by the Yahoo! Developer Network." I cant understand how to do it, can someone please help. Thanks. EDIT Although I still have the same doubt I figured out I can export the whole thing from the settings in my account, now I just need to get the html export in a xml file :) Also the yahoo method for accessing data, really is no good.

Why doesn't the AdditionalLibPaths parameter work in MSBuild?

I am trying to specify an additional folder to look for references when doing a command-line compile with MSBuild. The command line is as follows: msbuild C:\LUR.NET\LurReports.sln /t:Rebuild /p:AdditionalLibPaths=C:\Radio;TargetFrameworkVersion=v2.0 For whatever reasons, msbuild completely ignores the C:\Radio folder when looking for references. What am I missing here? P.S. I should mention that this box does not have Visual Studio installed. And the .sln is in version VS2008 and I am compiling it against .NET 2.0. P.S. I also tried placing double quotes around the path. Did not make a difference.

.NET 4.0 project reference 2.0 assembly

I have a project in which I'd like to use some of the .NET 4.0 features but a core requirement is that I can use the System.Data.SQLite framework which is compiled against 2.X. I see mention of this being possible such as the accepted answer here but I don't see how to actually achieve this. When I just try and run my 4.0 project while referencing the 2.X assembly I get: Mixed mode assembly is built against version 'v2.0.50727' of the runtime and cannot be loaded in the 4.0 runtime without additional configuration information. What "additional configuration" is necessary?

Has glassfish 2.1.1 a bug handling http request and handle them twice?

I'm using glassfish 2.1.1. I've watched a mysterious http/webservice-call handling. It seams an http request is handled by two different threads. After http basic authentication the first thread is faster. Persisting some data end, but writing response fails in glassfish internal. The second thread fails, because it tries to persist identical data and there are (unique) constrain failures. The response (the failure) of second thread was delivered to client. I don't won't discuss the behavior with the unique constrain failure. I've improve the webservice, so it can handle this better, because it could be happen anytime, that the client send the ws call a second time. But I think, glassfish 2.1.1 has an bug handling http request. Is there any known issue? Have I done an mistake? Entity Framework mant to many insert

I've been playing around with Entity Framework v2 and added some code to insert new entity with many to many relationship , lets say this entity is called meeting. I add hours to meeting : meeting.Hours.Add(hour); and I get different errors on different occasions On Update : Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'Meetings_Id', table 'Plan.dbo.MeetingHour'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated. On Inset : An item with the same key has already been added. But the tricky party is that if I add this manually trough SQL Server Management Studio , I can update the entity with the same value , clearing it first (meeting.Hour.Clear()) Can't see what could be the problem , maybe entity model isn't mapped correctly ?

ASP.NET 3.5 Web Site stopped importing System namespace by default

I have a VB Web Site project that has recently (and mysteriously) stopped importing the "System" namespace by default. I'm having to either place a "Imports System" line at the top of each code behind, or preface everything with "System", which is fairly annoying, not to mention redundant. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the System namespace back to being imported by default. I've already checked to see that WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\web.config contains the <add namespace="System"/> line--it does. That was my best lead. I'm tearing my hair out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Continous Build Integration with SourceSafe and Batch Files

I want to create a continuous build integration system for .NET using just Windows batch files and Visual Source Safe. I've come up with the following batch file so far - set ssdir=\\xxxx\vss cd d:\mydir "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual SourceSafe\ss.exe" diff "$/sourcedir" -R -Q > diffout.txt This will spit out a file containg lines like "SourceSafe files different from local files" when a change has been made. My challenge is to figure out if those lines are in the file, then do a get and kick off MSBuild if they are. I'd then schedule the batch file to run every 10 minutes or so. Anyone got any thoughts on how to do that? Or any other ways of doing continuous build integration without downloading a complicated build automation system? Update: Happy to use cscript or powershell too, though not really familiar with those environments. My main aim is to avoid installing 3rd party software

Seeing that YQL is being promoted as a good way to do things, I was curious as to how to use YQL to fetch and merge 2 different feeds into one (sorted by pubDate). It's pretty trivial to fetch 2 feeds but it turns out that the feeds are just concatenated together and not merged. Getting filtered results with subquery

I have a table with something like the following: ID Name Color 1 Bob Blue 2 John Yellow 1 Bob Green 3 Sara Red 3 Sara Green What I would like to do is return a filtered list of results whereby the following data is returned: ID Name Color 1 Bob Blue 2 John Yellow 3 Sara Red i.e. I would like to return 1 row per user. (I do not mind which row is returned for the particular user - I just need that the [ID] is unique.) I have something already that works but is really slow where I create a temp table adding all the ID's and then using a "OUTER APPLY" selecting the top 1 from the same table, i.e. CREATE TABLE #tb ( [ID] [int] ) INSERT INTO #tb select distinct [ID] from MyTable select T1.[ID], T2.[Name], T2.Color from #tb T1 OUTER APPLY ( SELECT TOP 1 * FROM MyTable T2 WHERE T2.[ID] = T1.[ID] ) AS V2 DROP TABLE #tb Can somebody suggest how I may improve it? IIS6 Problems with ASP.NET MVC.

Hello, I have a ASP.NET MVC page. I Configured a IIS Website and added the additonal H:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll. my Directory Structure is like that / ../App_data/ ../bin/ ../Content/ ../Properties/ ../Scripts/ ../Views/ ../Default.aspx ../Global.asax ../Web.config My page is configured to port 9090. If i try to access the page i get the "default" Page. But if i try to access any other page than the //myServer:9090 like //myServer:9090/home (which is the default method in my HomeController) i get a "page not found" error page. For me it looks like he does'nt execute the assambly. In the Debbuging Server all runs nice. What could be the Problem? P.S: If i forgort something pls ask for! thanks!

Functional Programming - Lots of emphasis on recursion, why?

I am getting introduced to Functional Programming [FP] (using Scala). One thing that is coming out from my initial learnings is that FPs rely heavily on recursion. And also it seems like, in pure FPs the only way to do iterative stuff is by writing recursive functions. And because of the heavy usage of recursion seems the next thing that FPs had to worry about were StackoverflowExceptions typically due to long winding recursive calls. This was tackled by introducing some optimizations (tail recursion related optimizations in maintenance of stackframes and @tailrec annotation from Scala v2.8 onwards) Can someone please enlighten me why recursion is so important to functional programming paradigm? Is there something in the specifications of functional programming languages which gets "violated" if we do stuff iteratively? If yes, then I am keen to know that as well. PS: Note that I am newbie to functional programming so feel free to point me to existing resources if they explain/answer my question. Also I do understand that Scala in particular provides support for doing iterative stuff as well.

How to access SharePoint files and folders from outside SharePoint?

I need to programatically interface with SharePoint folders, files and lists from outside SharePoint. Most tutorials focus on working within SharePoint itself, or at least on the same server where SharePoint is installed. I need to automate some tasks from completely different servers -- tasks that require reading SharePoint lists, browsing folders, checking files out and in, reading files stored in SharePoint libraries, etc. It used to be easy using UNC folder and file paths. Now many of our SharePoint sites don't allow UNC access (probably for good reasons), but my needs are the same. What languages / libraries / interfaces will allow this? I'd like to be able to do this from server-side .NET code and from PowerShell scripts (not on the SharePoint server). Thanks for any pointers.

Silverlight and Active Directory

I am planning to familiarize(read teach) myself with Silverlight by building an in-house app for managing our employees. I, obviously, would need this to interact with Active Directory on some level. What are my options? Has anyone tried this before? I am currently going to explore using Services(WCF???) to do the AD interaction portion? Thoughts? What to do when GMap Satellite imagery is unavailable

Hello-- is it possible to programmatically detect with the google maps api (javascript, v2) when satellite imagery is unavailable at a certain zoom level? I am creating some maps automatically and setting them to a certain zoom level, but in a few cases there is no satellite imagery available at that level, in which case I'd like to automatically back up a zoom level. Does the api expose some way of determining this lack of imagery? So far the only thing I can think of is trying to find out, with javascript, whether or not the image requests that the api makes are failing, and then reacting based on those failed image requests, but I can't really get it to work... and it seems a little inelegant. Is it possible to reference the Azure SDK 1.1 Microsoft.WindowsAzure.* assemblies from a .NET 4.0 Cl

I have a WPF application targetting the .NET 4.0 Client Profile which needs to use the Microsoft.WindowsAzure.* assemblies provided in the Windows Azure SDK 1.1. The problem is that these assemblies have a runtime version of v2.0.50727. I am able to add references to them from my WPF project but they're not recognised. I've read about the side by side execution capabilities of .NET 4.0 but does this require both the .NET 2.0 and the .NET 4.0 frameworks to be installed? Is there anything from Microsoft on when a new SDK might be available that contains assemblies targeting .NET 4.0?

Where can I find some good information on the new client-side validation functionality included in ASP.NET MVC v2? I'd like to find information about using the client-side validation JavaScript without using DataAnnotations, and I'd like to find out how custom validations are handled. For example, if I want to validate two fields together, how would I utilize the provided JavaScript? Or if I wanted to write validation code on the server-side that queried a database, how could I use the provided JavaScript to implement a similar validation? I don't see any books on MVC2 yet, and the blog entries I've found are not detailed enough.

Exception declared on ANTLR grammar rule ignored

I have a tree parser that's doing semantic analysis on the AST generated by my parser. It has a rule declared as follows: transitionDefinition throws WorkflowStateNotFoundException: /* ... */ This compiles just fine and matches the rule syntax at the ANTLR Wiki but my exception is never declared so the Java compiler complains about undeclared exceptions. ./tool/src/main/antlr3/org/antlr/grammar/v3/ANTLRv3.g shows that it's building a tree (but I'm not actually positive if it's the v2 or v3 grammar that ANTLR 3.2 is using): throwsSpec : 'throws' id ( ',' id )* -> ^('throws' id+) ; I know I can make it a runtime exception, but I'd like to use my exception hierarchy. Am I doing something wrong or should that syntax work?

SharePoint 2010 and VS 2010 - which releases work well?

I'm having a hard time finding a combination of sharepoint and vs releases that work well together. So far I have tried: SP 4730 & VS RTM SP 4747 & VS RC SP 4763 (Debug RTM ish) & VS RC All of these had issues in one or both products. I'm now reverting to SP 4747 & VS RTM. Has anyone else found a combo that works well? Specifically, I'm creating a service application with some sync framework goodness. I get errors when deploying from vs or running the powershell cmdlets to deploy and provision stuff. Thanks
