• Reduce size and change text color of the bootstrap-datepicker field

  Programing an Android application based on HTML5/JQuery launching in a web view, I'm using the Eternicode's bootstrap-datepicker. BTW I'm using Jquery 1.9.1 and Bootstrap 2.3.2 with bootstrap-responsive. The picker is working fine but unfortunately I get yet two issues which I was not able to solve at this time: the picker theme is not respected and some dates are not readable (see the attached picture). Some there is css conflict such as the datepicker's font is displayed white on white background. I'm not able to reduce the size of the date picker field such as it holds on alone row.   I have a partially converted XML document in soup coming from HTML. After some replacement and editing in the soup, the body is essentially - <Text...></Text> # This replaces <a href..> tags but automatically creates the </Text> <p class=norm ...</p> <p class=norm ...</p> <Text...></Text> <p class=norm ...</p> and so forth. I need to "move" the <p> tags to be children to <Text> or know how to suppress the </Text>.   good day everyone, hope yer all doin awesome am very new to javascript and jquery, and i (think) i have come up with a simple fade-in/out implementation on a site am workin on (check out http://www.s5ent.com/expandjs.html - if you have the time to check it for inefficiency or what that'd be real sweet). i use the following functions/methods/collections and i would like to do a feature test before using them. uhm.. how? or is there a better way to go about this? jQuery $ .fadeIn([duration]) .fadeOut([duration]) .attr(attributeName,value) .append(content) .each(function(index,Element)) .css(propertyName,value) .hover(handlerIn(eventObject),handlerOut(eventObject)) .stop([clearQueue],[jumpToEnd]) .parent() .eq(index) JavaScript setInterval(expression,timeout) clearInterval(timeoutId) setTimeout(expression,timeout) clearTimeout(timeoutId) i tried looking into jquery.support for the jquery ones, but i find myself running into conceptual problems with it, i.e. for fadein/fadeout, i (think i) should test for $.support.opacity, but that would be false in ie whereas ie6+ could still fairly render the fades. also am using jquery 1.2.6 coz that's enough for what i need. the support object is in 1.3. so i'm hoping to avoid dragging-in more unnecessary code if i can. i also worked with browser sniffing, no matter how frowned-upon. but that's also a bigger problem for me because of non-standard ua strings and spoofing and everything else am not aware of. so how do you guys think i should go about this? or should i even? is there a better way to go about making sure that i don't run code that'll eventually break the page? i've set it up to degrade into a css hover when javascript ain't there.. expertise needed. much appreciated, thanks guyz!

• SQL group results as a column array

  Hi guys, this is an SQL question and don't know which type of JOIN, GROUP BY etc. to use, it is for a chat program where messages are related to rooms and each day in a room is linked to a transcript etc. Basically, when outputting my transcripts, I need to show which users have chatted on that transcript. At the moment I link them through the messages like so: SELECT rooms.id, rooms.name, niceDate, room_transcripts.date, long FROM room_transcripts JOIN rooms ON room_transcripts.room=rooms.id JOIN transcript_users ON transcript_users.room=rooms.id AND transcript_users.date=room_transcripts.date JOIN users ON transcript_users.user=users.id WHERE room_transcripts.deleted=0 AND rooms.id IN (1,2) ORDER BY room_transcripts.id DESC, long ASC The result set looks like this: Array ( [0] => Array ( [id] => 2 [name] => Room 2 [niceDate] => Wednesday, April 14 [date] => 2010-04-14 [long] => Jerry Seinfeld ) [1] => Array ( [id] => 1 [name] => Room 1 [niceDate] => Wednesday, April 14 [date] => 2010-04-14 [long] => Jerry Seinfeld ) [2] => Array ( [id] => 1 [name] => Room 1 [niceDate] => Wednesday, April 14 [date] => 2010-04-14 [long] => Test Users ) ) I would like though for each element in the array to represent one transcript entry and for the users to be grouped in an array as the entry's element. So 'long' will be an array listing all the names. Can this be done? At the moment I just append the names and when the transcript date and room changes I echo them retrospectively, but I will do the same for files and highlighted messages and it's messy. Thanks.

• I like the way they Design/Architecture it but how do I implement this

  Summary: I have different components on homepage and each components shows some promotion to the user. I have Cart as one Component and depending upon content of the cart promotion are show. I have to track user online activities and send that information to Omniture for Report Generation. Now my components are loaded asynchronously basically are loaded when AjaxRequest is fired up and so there is not fix pattern or rather information on when components will appear on the webpages. Now in order to pass information to Omniture I need to call track function on $(document).(ready) and append information for each components(7 parameters are required by Omniture for each component). So in the init:config function of each component am calling Omniture and passing paramters but now no. of Omniture calls is directly proportional to no. of Components on the webpage but this is not acceptable as each call to Omniture is very expensive. Now I am looking for a way where in I can club the information about 7 parameters and than make one Call to Omniture wherein I pass those information. Points to note is that I do not know when the components are loaded and so there is no pre-defined time or no. of components that would be loaded. The thing is am calling track function when document is ready but components are loaded after call to Omniture has been made and so my question is Q: How can I collect the information for all the components and than just make one call to Omniture to send those information ? As mentioned, I do not know when the components are loaded as they are done on the Ajax Request. Hope I am able to explain my challenge and would appreciate if some one can provide from Design/Architect Solutions for the Challenge.

  I'm processing subscribtion form with jQuery/ajax and need to display results with success function (they are different depending on if email exists in database). But the trick is I do not need h2 and first "p" tag. How can I show only div#alertmsg and second "p" tag? I've tried revoming unnecessary elements with method described here, but it didn't work. • Reverse ordered list for jquery submitted comments

  Hey guys I have one more question lol. I am using a script that allows users to submit comments through jquery ajax, however when they are submitted, the submitted comments submit at the bottom of the other comments which are sorted in descending order (newest on top) when the page first loads (due to mysql query). • Web Hosting URL Length Limit?

  Hello, I am designing a web application which is a tie in to my iPhone application. It sends massively large URLs to the web server (15000 about.) I was using NearlyFreeSpeech.net, but they only support URLS up to 2000 characters. I was wondering if anybody knows of web hosting that will support really large URLs? Thanks, Isaac Edit: My program needs to open a picture in Safari. I could do this 2 ways: send it base64 encoded in the URL and just echo the query parameters. first POST it to the server in my application, then the server would send back a unique ID after storing the photo in a database, which I would append to a URL which I would open in Safari which retrieved the photo from the database and delete it from the database. You see, I am lazy, and I know Mobile Safari can support URI's up to 80 000 characters, so I think this is a OK way to do it. If there is something really wrong with this, please tell me. • How to share data between SSRS Security and Data Processing extension?

  I've spent a lot of time trying to solve the issue pointed in title and have no found a solution yet. I use MS SSRS 2012 with custom Security (based on Form Authentication and ClaimsPrincipal) and Data Processing extensions. In Data extension level I need to apply filter programmatically based on one of the claim which I have access in Security extension level only. Here is the problem: I do know how to pass the claim from Security to Data Processing extension code... What I've tried: IAuthenticationExtension.LogonUser(string userName, string password, string authority) { ... ClaimsPrincipal claimsPrincipal = CreateClaimsPrincipal(...); Thread.CurrentPrincipal = claimsPrincipal; HttpContext.Current.User = claimsPrincipal; ... }; But it doesn't work. It seems SSRS overrides it within either GenericPrincipal or FormsIdentity internally. The possible workaround I'm thinking about (but haven't checked it yet): 1. Create HttpModule which will create HttpContext with all required information (minus: will be invoke getting claims each time - huge operation) 2. Write to custom SQL table to store logged users information which is required for Data extension and then read it 3. try somehow to append to cookies due to LogOn and then read each time on IAuthenticationExtension.GetUserInfo and fill HttpContext None of them seems to be a good solution. I would be grateful for any help/advise/comments.

• javascript scope problem when lambda function refers to a variable in enclosing loop

  First question on stackoverflow :) Hope I won't embarrass myself... I have a javascript function that loads a list of albums and then it creates a list item for each album. The list item should be clickable, so I call jQuery's click() with a function that does stuff. I do this in a loop. My problem is that all items seem to get the same click function, even though I try to make a new one that does different stuff in each iteration. Another possibility is that the iteration variable is global somehow, and the function refers to it. Code below. debug() is just an encapsulation of Firebug's console.debug(). function processAlbumList(data, c) { for (var album in data) { var newAlbum = $('<li class="albumLoader">' + data[album].title + '</li>').clone(); var clickAlbum = function() { debug("contents: " + album); }; debug("Album: " + album + "/" + data[album].title); $('.albumlist').append(newAlbum); $(newAlbum).click(clickAlbum); } } Here is a transcript of what it prints when the above function runs, after that are some debug lines caused by me clicking on different items. It always prints "10", which is the last value that the album variable takes (there are 10 albums). • Python halts while iteratively processing my 1GB csv file

  I have two files: metadata.csv: contains an ID, followed by vendor name, a filename, etc hashes.csv: contains an ID, followed by a hash The ID is essentially a foreign key of sorts, relating file metadata to its hash. I wrote this script to quickly extract out all hashes associated with a particular vendor. It craps out before it finishes processing hashes.csv stored_ids = [] # this file is about 1 MB entries = csv.reader(open(options.entries, "rb")) for row in entries: # row[2] is the vendor if row[2] == options.vendor: # row[0] is the ID stored_ids.append(row[0]) # this file is 1 GB hashes = open(options.hashes, "rb") # I iteratively read the file here, # just in case the csv module doesn't do this. for line in hashes: # not sure if stored_ids contains strings or ints here... # this probably isn't the problem though if line.split(",")[0] in stored_ids: # if its one of the IDs we're looking for, print the file and hash to STDOUT print "%s,%s" % (line.split(",")[2], line.split(",")[4]) hashes.close() This script gets about 2000 entries through hashes.csv before it halts. What am I doing wrong? • building jquery checkbox - can't set checked value

  this seems straightforward enough, I don't know if it's a bug, or just something I'm doing wrong. What I want to do is build a checkbox input in jquery, then return the string of the input. I have this code: var obj = $('<input>'); obj.attr('disabled', 'disabled'); obj.attr('type', 'checkbox'); obj.attr('checked', 'checked'); // this does not work! no matter how i try to render this obj, the 'checked' attribute never gets outputted. So I have tried: $('<div>').append(obj).remove().html(); and it returns: <input type="checkbox" disabled="disabled" /> I have tried setting an id attribute, it makes no difference. I have also tried this but it doesn't work: obj.attr('checked', true); Any suggestions on how to get the input tag rendered with the checked attribute set to 'checked' (via jquery)? I realise I can just do this with string concatenation, but now I really want to know why it's not working the way it should.

• Multiple, Simultaneous Factories and Protocols in Twisted: Same Service, Different Ports

  Greetings, Forum. I'm working on a program in Python that uses Twisted to manage networking. The basis of this program is a TCP service that is to listen for connections on multiple ports. However, instead of using one Twisted factory to handle a protocol object for each port, I am trying to use a separate factory for each port. The reason for this is to force a separation among the groups of clients connecting to the different ports. Unfortunately, it appears that this architecture isn't quite working: clients that connect to one port appear to be available among all the factories (e.g., the protocol class used by each factory includes a 'self.factory.clients.append (self)' statement...instead of adding a given client to just the factory for a particular port, the client is added to all factories), and whenever I shutdown service on one port the listeners on all ports also stop. I've been working with Twisted for a short while, and fear I simply don't fully understand how its factory classes are managed. My question is: is it simply not possible to have multiple, simultaneous instances of the same factory and same protocol in use across different ports (without these instances stepping on each other's toes)?

  Brief: convert ( -size 585x128 gradient: ) NewImage.png How do I change the above ImageMagick command so it takes the width and height from an existing image? I need it to remain a one line command. Details: I'm trying to programatically create an image reflection using ImageMagick. The effect I am looking for is similar to what you would see when looking at an object on the edge of a pool of water. There is a pretty good thread on what I am trying to do here but the solution isn't exactly what I am looking for. Since I will be calling ImageMagick from a C#.Net application I want to use one call without any temp files and return the image through stdout. So far I have this... convert OriginalImage.png ( OriginalImage.png -flip -blur 3x5 \ -crop 100%%x30%%+0+0 -negate -evaluate multiply 0.3 \ -negate ( -size 585x128 gradient: ) +matte -compose copy_opacity -composite ) -append NewImage.png This works ok but doesn't give me the exact fade I am looking for. Instead of a nice solid fade from top to bottom it is giving me a fade from top left to bottom right. I added the (-negate -evaluate multiply 0.3 -negate) section in to lighten it up a bit more since I wasn't getting the fade I wanted. I also don't want to have to hard code in the size of the image when creating the gradient ( -size 585x128 gradient: ) I'm also going to want to keep the original image's transparency if possible. To go to stdout I plan on replacing "NewImage.png" with "-"

  I've got my encryption function working properly however I cannot figure out how to get the decrypt function to give proper output. • Where is my python script spending time? Is there "missing time" in my cprofile / pstats trace?

  I am attempting to profile a long running python script. The script does some spatial analysis on raster GIS data set using the gdal module. The script currently uses three files, the main script which loops over the raster pixels called find_pixel_pairs.py, a simple cache in lrucache.py and some misc classes in utils.py. • Inactive area after device rotation

  Hi all, I don't understand what's wrong in my very simple application with device rotation : I built my view with interface builder. (See screen capture here) I specified <key>UIInterfaceOrientation</key><string>UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight</string> in my info.plist file. I had a (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation {return YES;} in my root view controller. The area on the left (shown in red on the capture), around 20 pixel width, keeps inactive (nothing append if I hit a button in this area). In fact the full screen is active only in portrait mode, in landscape right mode there is this 20 pixels width inactive area, in landscape left mode this inactive area is on the right, in portrait upside down mode this area is on the bottom. I read lots of posts and documentation about UIView rotation, but I did not find anything to solve this problem (I tried to play with view.frame and view.bounds without any success). • How do I load an XML document, add and remove nodes, then apply it to a ASP DataGrid control?

  I have a pretty simple operation but am struggling with how to implement it. I am loading XML from an external data source using a DataSet.ReadXml(), the creating a new XMLDataDocument from that data set, then syncing the Dataset back to the XMLDataDocument like so: doc = new XmlDataDocument(dsDataSet); dsDataSet.EnforceConstraints = false; dsDataSet= doc.DataSet; Once loaded I do two things to the XmlDataDocument: Loop through and check if a purely meta node, count, exists right beneath the root node and if so remove it. a thumb node exists in a second level nodelist and if not, create and append it. This is all going a expected because the result of doc.save() looks correct. Where I'm having an issue is updating the Dataset, which is being applied as the data source for an ASP DataGrid. Once all the above XMLDoc manipaulation is done I do this: dsDataSet.Merge(doc.DataSet); dsDataSet.AcceptChanges(); I then apply the data set to the grid control: dgList.DataSource = dsDataSet; dgList.DataBind(); But, when I do this I get this error on the site: System.Web.HttpException: DataBinding: 'System.Data.DataRowView' does not contain a property with the name 'thumb'. What did I miss?

• What is the best way to auto-generate INSERT statements for a SQL Server table?

  We are writing a new application, and while testing, we will need a bunch of dummy data. I've added that data by using MS Access to dump excel files into the relevant tables. Every so often, we want to "refresh" the relevant tables, which means dropping them all, re-creating them, and running a saved MS Access append query. The first part (dropping & re-creating) is an easy sql script, but the last part makes me cringe. I want a single setup script that has a bunch of INSERTs to regenerate the dummy data. I have the data in the tables now. What is the best way to automatically generate a big list of INSERT statements from that dataset? I'm thinking of something like in TOAD (for Oracle) where you can right-click on a grid and click Save As-Insert Statements, and it will just dump a big sql script wherever you want. The only way I can think of doing it is to save the table to an excel sheet and then write an excel formula to create an INSERT for every row, which is surely not the best way. I'm using the 2008 Management Studio to connect to a SQL Server 2005 database.

• Django apache-wsgi configuration problem

  Hi, I am trying to get my Django project running on the production server. I setup the environment using pip, so it is identical to the development environment where everything is running fine. The only difference is that I don't use virtualenv on production, because this project is the only one that is going to run on production. Also on production, there is an Nginx reverse proxy to serve static content, and passes dynamic requests to Apache2. The Apache wsgi file is as follows: import sys, os sys.path.append('/home/project/src') os.environ['DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE'] = 'settings' import django.core.handlers.wsgi application = django.core.handlers.wsgi.WSGIHandler() When I access the server, I get an import error: ImproperlyConfigured: Error importing middleware middleware: "cannot import name UserProfile" Which refers to the middleware.py under src/ folder which is referred by the settings. But I can import both the middleware and the UserProfile class from within ./manage.py shell prompt. It seems like a problem with paths in wsgi file but I cannot see what. The directory structure is: /home/project /home/project/src (which contains the settings.py, middleware.py and app folders) /home/apache/apache.wsgi Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, oMat
