  • XCTest.framework build error

    - by user2703123
I am using the DropBox Core API in my app and therefore, I must include the XCTest framework, because, when I haven't added the XCTest framework, my app can't connect to dropbox, however when I do add the framework, I get an error while building for the simulator. There is nothing wrong with my code! Here is the error: Ld /Users/Zach/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/SnapDrop!-fchnxyvnqyeefscfhmohrzxtiqeb/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator/SnapDrop!.app/SnapDrop! normal i386 cd "/Users/Zach/Desktop/SnapDrop!" setenv IPHONEOS_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET 6.1 setenv PATH "/Applications/Xcode5-DP6.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin:/Applications/Xcode5-DP6.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin" /Applications/Xcode5-DP6.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/bin/clang -arch i386 -isysroot /Applications/Xcode5-DP6.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator7.0.sdk -L/Users/Zach/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/SnapDrop!-fchnxyvnqyeefscfhmohrzxtiqeb/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator -F/Users/Zach/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/SnapDrop!-fchnxyvnqyeefscfhmohrzxtiqeb/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator -F/Users/Zach/Downloads/dropbox-ios-sdk-1.3.5 -F/Users/Zach/Downloads/dropbox-ios-sync-sdk-1-1.1.0 -F/Applications/Xcode5-DP6.app/Contents/Developer/Library/Frameworks -F/Users/Zach/Desktop -filelist /Users/Zach/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/SnapDrop!-fchnxyvnqyeefscfhmohrzxtiqeb/Build/Intermediates/SnapDrop!.build/Debug-iphonesimulator/SnapDrop!.build/Objects-normal/i386/SnapDrop!.LinkFileList -Xlinker -objc_abi_version -Xlinker 2 -fobjc-arc -fobjc-link-runtime -Xlinker -no_implicit_dylibs -mios-simulator-version-min=6.1 -framework iAd -framework AssetsLibrary -framework QuartzCore -framework SystemConfiguration -framework Security -framework CFNetwork -framework XCTest -framework Dropbox -framework DropboxSDK -framework CoreGraphics -framework UIKit -framework Foundation -Xlinker -dependency_info -Xlinker /Users/Zach/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/SnapDrop!-fchnxyvnqyeefscfhmohrzxtiqeb/Build/Intermediates/SnapDrop!.build/Debug-iphonesimulator/SnapDrop!.build/Objects-normal/i386/SnapDrop!_dependency_info.dat -o /Users/Zach/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/SnapDrop!-fchnxyvnqyeefscfhmohrzxtiqeb/Build/Products/Debug-iphonesimulator/SnapDrop!.app/SnapDrop! ld: building for iOS Simulator, but linking against dylib built for MacOSX file '/Applications/Xcode5-DP6.app/Contents/Developer/Library/Frameworks/XCTest.framework/XCTest' for architecture i386 clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation) What should I do? • iPhone UIButton Tap

    - by Ivan
Hello all, I am trying to make a button that response to single and double tap. I am trying to do this using myAction method. The problem is that first time when I press the button the method myAction isn't called. Can somebody tell why this happening and how can I fix that? -(IBAction)myButton:(id)sender{ UIButton *theButton = (UIButton *)sender; [theButton addTarget:self action:@selector(myAction:forEvent:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventAllEvents]; } - (void)myAction:(id)sender forEvent:(UIEvent *)event { NSLog(@"Touch events goes here"); } Thank you, I. • ScriptingBridge causes iTunes to relaunch after quit

    - by Justin Voss
I'm working on a Cocoa app that monitors what you're listening to in iTunes, and since I'm targeting Mac OS 10.5 and higher, I've decided to use Scripting Bridge. If I try to close iTunes too close to the time that my app polls it for the current track, iTunes will immediately relaunch! The only way to reliably prevent this behavior is to quit my app first, then quit iTunes. Switching to EyeTunes solves the problem, but it's a fairly old codebase and I was hoping that I could accomplish this without an external library. Surely I'm doing something wrong that's causing the relaunch? Here's some sample code; this snippet is run every few seconds, triggered by an NSTimer. #import "iTunesBridge.h" // auto-generated according to Apple's docs -(void)updateTrackInfo { iTunesApplication *iTunes = [[SBApplication alloc] initWithBundleIdentifier:@"com.apple.iTunes"]; iTunesTrack *currentTrack = [iTunes currentTrack]; // inspect currentTrack to determine what's being played... [iTunes release]; } Is this a known issue with Scripting Bridge, or am I using it incorrectly?

  • how a view controller know when it is dismissed or poped out of the navigation controller stack?

    - by Thanh-Cong Vo
Hi all, My view controller needs to know when it is poped out of the navigation controller stack, so that it can retain itself, wait and release itself later with another notification. I intend to do like that when the view is sent dealloc message: - (void)dealloc { if (self.isPerformingSomeTask) { self.isPopedOut = YES; [self retain]; return; } [super dealloc]; } But I think this is not a good solution? Any idea?

  • Removing all CALayer's sublayers

    - by radex
Hi. I have trouble with deleting all layer's sublayers. I do this manually, but it's unwanted code clutter. I found many topics about this in google, but no answer. I tried to do something like this: for(CALayer *layer in rootLayer.sublayers) { [layer removeFromSublayer]; } but it didn't work. Also, i tried to clone rootLayer.sublayers into separate NSArray, but result was the same. Any ideas? regards, radex PS. sorry for my English. Edit: I thought it works now, but I was wrong. It works good with CALayers, but it doesn't work with CATextLayers. Any ideas?

  • MPMediaItem - NSCoding problem with MPMediaItemArtwork

    - by z s
Hi, So MPMediaItem conforms to NSCoding, but it contains a pointer to MPMediaItemArtwork, which doesn't conform to NSCoding. So if I try to archive a MPMediaItem, if that item has some artwork in it, it will not be able to unarchive. I tried to make a category of MPMediaItemArtwork and make it conform to NSCoding, but I can't seem to do that because we don't have access to the actual UIImage that it stores. Does anyone know of any other creative ways to get around this problem? I want to be able to archive an MPMediaItem, even if it means somehow stripping off the artwork object. Is there a way to make a category of a class to strip away certain functionality (instead of just adding more, like we do with categories)? Or any other clever way to achieve this? Thanks.

  • how to udate window controls(NSTextField,NSCheckbox and etc) in binding manually

    - by Amit
Hi, I am working on an application in which i need to store all the NSObject subclass properties into plist file and then allow users to store it and restore it. We call it profile and it can restore the saved state of all the controls/views on the window in my application. I have completed the storing/Restoring part, but the issue is when i am updating the class properties manually, it is not updating the control state Like checkboxs and others which is bind with the class property. Please let me know how can i update the controls state, if its KVC/KVO updated programatically. Thanks in advance

  • How to use CFNetwork to get byte array from sockets?

    - by Vic
Hi, I'm working in a project for the iPad, it is a small program and I need it to communicate with another software that runs on windows and act like a server; so the application that I'm creating for the iPad will be the client. I'm using CFNetwork to do sockets communication, this is the way I'm establishing the connection: char ip[] = "192.168.0.244"; NSString *ipAddress = [[NSString alloc] initWithCString:ip]; /* Build our socket context; this ties an instance of self to the socket */ CFSocketContext CTX = { 0, self, NULL, NULL, NULL }; /* Create the server socket as a TCP IPv4 socket and set a callback */ /* for calls to the socket's lower-level connect() function */ TCPClient = CFSocketCreate(NULL, PF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, IPPROTO_TCP, kCFSocketDataCallBack, (CFSocketCallBack)ConnectCallBack, &CTX); if (TCPClient == NULL) return; /* Set the port and address we want to listen on */ struct sockaddr_in addr; memset(&addr, 0, sizeof(addr)); addr.sin_len = sizeof(addr); addr.sin_family = AF_INET; addr.sin_port = htons(PORT); addr.sin_addr.s_addr = inet_addr([ipAddress UTF8String]); CFDataRef connectAddr = CFDataCreate(NULL, (unsigned char *)&addr, sizeof(addr)); CFSocketConnectToAddress(TCPClient, connectAddr, -1); CFRunLoopSourceRef sourceRef = CFSocketCreateRunLoopSource(kCFAllocatorDefault, TCPClient, 0); CFRunLoopAddSource(CFRunLoopGetCurrent(), sourceRef, kCFRunLoopCommonModes); CFRelease(sourceRef); CFRunLoopRun(); And this is the way I sent the data, which basically is a byte array /* The native socket, used for various operations */ // TCPClient is a CFSocketRef member variable CFSocketNativeHandle sock = CFSocketGetNative(TCPClient); Byte byteData[3]; byteData[0] = 0; byteData[1] = 4; byteData[2] = 0; send(sock, byteData, strlen(byteData)+1, 0); Finally, as you may have noticed, when I create the server socket, I registered a callback for the kCFSocketDataCallBack type, this is the code. void ConnectCallBack(CFSocketRef socket, CFSocketCallBackType type, CFDataRef address, const void *data, void *info) { // SocketsViewController is the class that contains all the methods SocketsViewController *obj = (SocketsViewController*)info; UInt8 *unsignedData = (UInt8 *) CFDataGetBytePtr(data); char *value = (char*)unsignedData; NSString *text = [[NSString alloc]initWithCString:value length:strlen(value)]; [obj writeToTextView:text]; [text release]; } Actually, this callback is being invoked in my code, the problem is that I don't know how can I get the data that the windows client sent me, I'm expecting to receive an array of bytes, but I don't know how can I get those bytes from the data param. If anyone can help me to find a way to do this, or maybe me point me to another way to get the data from the server in my client application I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

  • UITextField keyboard difference between simulator and real device

    - by Raphael Pinto
Hi, I am trying get float value with UITextField. On the simulator V3.1.3 in English, I have to use '.' to separate my float values. But on my Iphone 3GS V3.1.3 in French, I have to use ',' to separate them. If I use '.' on my Iphone 3GS, my float is troncated : 3.22222 = 3.0000000 Is there a solution to detect the language version and use the good separator automaticaly?

  • Adding a dynamic image to UITable View Cell

    - by Graeme
    Hi, I have a table in which I want a dynamic image to load in at the left-hand side. The table needs to use an IF statement to select the appropriate image from the "Resources" folder, and needs to be based upon [dog types]. The [dog types] is extracted from an RSS feed, and so the image in the table cell needs to match the each cell's [dog types] tag. Update: See code below for what I'm looking to do (only below it's for earthquakes, for me its pictures of dogs). I suspect I need to use - (UIImage *)imageForTypes:(NSString *)types { to do such a thing. Thanks. Updated code: This is for Apple's Earthquake sample but does exactly what I need to do. It matches images to the severity (2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 etc.) of every earthquake to the magnitude. - (UIImage *)imageForMagnitude:(CGFloat)magnitude { if (magnitude >= 5.0) { return [UIImage imageNamed:@"5.0.png"]; } if (magnitude >= 4.0) { return [UIImage imageNamed:@"4.0.png"]; } if (magnitude >= 3.0) { return [UIImage imageNamed:@"3.0.png"]; } if (magnitude >= 2.0) { return [UIImage imageNamed:@"2.0.png"]; } return nil; } and under - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath magnitudeImage.image = [self imageForMagnitude:earthquake.magnitude];

  • Can't find applicationSupportDirectory?

    - by Frost Li
There is always a pre-written function at AppDelegate: (NSString *)applicationSupportDirectory { NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSApplicationSupportDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *basePath = ([paths count] > 0) ? [paths objectAtIndex:0] : NSTemporaryDirectory(); return [basePath stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"SyncFile"]; } However, I can't call this method outside this class: id _appDelegate = (SyncFile_AppDelegate *)[[NSApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; NSLog(@"%@", [_appDelegate applicationSupportDirectory]); The compiler warned me that it can't find method applicationSupportDirectory... Does anyone know what's wrong with my code? Thank you very much!

  • Cocos2D, UIScrollView, and initial placement of a scene

    - by diatrevolo
Hello: I am using a UIScrollView to forward touches to Cocos2D as outlined in http://getsetgames.com/2009/08/21/cocos2d-and-uiscrollview/ Everything works great after a few days of working with it, except one thing: when the initial view appears on the screen, the background appears to be scrolled to the center. As soon as I try to scroll around, the image jumps to 0,0, and everything works as normal, except the touches are offset by half the width and height of the background image. Am I overlooking something basic? I can't think of a useful portion of the code that illustrates the issue, as I can't track it down, but would be happy to post code if anyone has any ideas. Thanks in advance, -Roberto

  • Simple string pattern matching

    - by Joonas Trussmann
What's the easiest way of doing simple pattern matching a la .something.com something.com/ something.com/somefolder/*.jpg in the iPhone SDK? At this point it looks like I'm going to have to use a regular expression library of some sort, which is really overkill when all I need is simple wildcard matching. None of the standard NSString methods seem to be available on the iPhone.

  • Alternative Control Structures

    - by Brock Woolf
I've been wondering about alternative ways to write control structures. One that you learn early on for if statements is a replacement for this: if ( x ) { // true } else { // false } with this (sometimes this is more readable compared to lots of brackets): x ? true : false It got me thinking. Can we replace anything else incase it's more readable. We of course replace if statements like this: if (a < b) { return true; } else { return false; } with things like this: return a < b; We can save a long if with something like this (pretty much same as the one above): bool xCollisionTrue = (object.xPos < aabb.maxX && object.xPos > aabb.minX); So those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head for the if statement and doing comparisons. So I'm wondering what about looping constructs, for, while, etc. Maybe the code obfuscators might have some ideas.

  • Using CGContext to display a sprite sheet iPhone

    - by Mike
Hello, So I have a spritesheet in png format, and have already worked out the coordinates for what I want to display. I'm trying to create a method that will return a UIImage when passed the location information on the spritesheet. I'm just not sure how to use the CGContext stuff along with the the coordinates to return an UIImage. I was looking to CGContextClipToRect because I think that is the way to do it, but I just can't seem to get it to work. Something like this CGSize size = CGSizeMake(xSize, ySize); UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(size); //CGContextClipToRect(spriteSheet.size, imageRect); [spriteSheet drawAtPoint:CGPointMake(xPos, yPos)]; UIImage *newImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); return scaledImage; returns only what is in the size Context. I need to be able to "move" this size window around the spritesheet if that makes sense. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike
