• Perforce command line only showing local users/changelists/workspaces, but P4V shows all

  We are using P4 for free with two users. In the P4V admin gui I can see both myself and my partner as users, and in the P4V gui I can see all workspaces (clients) and all changelists (both mine and my partner's). From the command line, 'p4 users' only shows me, 'p4 clients' only shows my local workspace, etc. Is there some mode, environment setting, or special directory from which I have to use the p4 command line to see those global objects? I believe I am a p4 superuser (since I read this is the default on installation and we didn't change anything). I'm obviously missing something very basic about the relationship between p4 command line and P4V. The reason I need to use the command line is to delete an old client workspace (used on a different machine) that has an empty changelist associated with it. I therefore need to use 'p4 client -d -f old-workspace-name' from the command line. But when I do it tells me client 'old-workspace-name' doesn't exist.

• Clickable link in RadGrid column

  I have a RadGrid where a column in the grid holds a URL. When a put a value in the column I can see the URL but the URL is not clickable (to go to the URL). How can I make the URL clickable? Here is a rough example of what I'm doing now: DataTable table = new DataTable(); DataRow row = table.Rows[0]; row["URL"] = "http://www.google.com"; grid.DataSource = table; In addition I'd really like to show specific text instead of the URL. Something similar to <a href="http://www.google.com">Link</a> in HTML. Is there anyway to do this?

• 503 (Server Unavailable) WebException when loading local XHTML file in Visual C# 2008

  Hello! So I'm currently working on an ePub reader application, and I've been reading through a bunch of regular XML files just fine with System.Xml and XmlDocument: XmlDocument xmldoc = new XmlDocument(); xmldoc.Load(Path.Combine(Directory.GetCurrentDirectory(), "META-INF/container.xml")); XmlNodeList xnl = xmldoc.GetElementsByTagName("rootfile"); However, now I'm trying to open the XHTML files that contain the actual book text, and they're XHTML files. Now I don't really know the difference between the two, but I'm getting the following error with this code (in the same document, using the same XmlDocument and XmlNodeList variable) xmldoc.Load(Path.Combine(Directory.GetCurrentDirectory(), "OEBPS/part1.xhtml")); "WebException was unhandled: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable" It's a local document, so I'm not understanding why it's giving this error?   I've got a list of frequently used hex colors that I'd like to list under my jPicker bound input text field and I'd like to figure out how to change the value of the jPicker active color without opening the jPicker color selector palette. I've managed to create a function that updates the input field thats bound to the jPicker, but the colors of the background and picker.gif do not update. I'd like to force the background colors to update as if the color was selected from jPicker itself. • Can you define a ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionary together with other (local) resources in <Wind

  I would like to refer to a MergedDictionary together with locally declared resources in my Windows.Resources. However, I'm getting this error: "All objects added to an IDictionary must have a Key attribute or some other type of key associated with them." Is it possible to mix local resources together with imported resources in the same Window.Resources? • Sync Framework, Local Database Cache, and my DAL

  I am creating a WPF app that needs to allow users to work in a temporary disconnected state and I plan to use a Local Database Cache. My question's are about my data access layer. Do you typically create the whole DAL to point at the Cache or both and create a switching mechanism? Is Entity's a good way to go for my DAL against the Cache? I am used to L2S but my understanding is that I can't use that against SQLCE, correct? Thanks! PS: Any good resources out there for using Sync, Linq, and WPF? Tutorials, videos, etc?

• c# windows forms link button to listview

  Hi, I am using c# windows forms. I have multiple buttons linked to a listview which when a button is pressed, a new item is added to the listview. The column headers in the listview are 'Name' and 'Amount'. When a different button is pressed, a different item is added to the listview. The thing i need help with is as follows: When the same button is pressed twice, I want the amount to go from "1" to "2" on the second click. So the item name isnt duplicated but the amount is increase. The problem is I am using text to link the button to the linklist at the moment e.g. ("Coca Cola", "1") which adds the item name as coca cola and the amount as 1. I know it is something to do with integers so please help!! Thanks

  I might be missing something here but am unable to understand the true purpose of link shortener services like bit.ly or is it just a lot of hype! Truly if you type nyti.ms on your URL bar on the browser it takes you to www.nytimes.com, but still what is so hard in typing "nytimes.com! which is far much comprehensible to read and understand leave alone to remember! Does shortening URL serve any purpose in web development? Why should someone want use obscure shortened URL?

• Share application in local network

  I would like to eventually create a managerial program that shares and updates information for multiple computers that are on the same network. I am fairly familiar with Python, C++ and a bit of Java, is there a library I could use with any of these languages to design such a program? I could probably create the local interface from where I am right now, but when it comes to packing and sharing data I could not be more clueless; any advice would be platinum. The program will need to differentiate between administrative and user access if that makes a difference.

  I'm writing a C# program that will enforce password complexity in accordance with the Windows Group Policy setting "Password must meet complexity requirements". Specifically, if that policy is set to Enabled either on the local machine (if it's not part of a domain) or by the Domain Security Policy (for domain members), then my software needs to enforce a complex password for its own internal security. The issue is that I can't figure out how to read that GPO setting. Google searches have indicated that I can read GPO settings with one of these two APIs: the System.DirectoryServices library in .NET Framework, and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), but I haven't had any success so far. Any insights would be helpful.

• Execute a function when a <link> element has finished loading

  I'm using jQuery Masonry to lay out my page, but I'm using a custom @font-face font. The problem being that Masonry doesn't know the metrics of the font until it's loaded. The Masonry docs suggest that you use $(window).load() instead of $(document).ready() to call the layout functions, but I don't want to have to wait until all the images etc. load. I can specify the dimensions of the images exactly, so Masonry doesn't need to wait until they're loaded. It's just the text that's the problem. How can I get jQuery to call a callback when the <link> element that links in the font finishes loading?

• wkhtmltopdf - cannot convert local file

  I just downloaded version 10.0 for opensuse v. 11.3. I can convert a webpage (ie www.google.com) using it but cannot convert a local file. I grant all permissions on the file (& i've even tried running under sudo to no avail). This is the error: "Loading pages (1/6) Error: Failed loading page file:///file.html". The file exists but wkhtmltopdf refuses to load it. I even tried version 9.9 w/ the same result What am I missing?

  Hi, Let's say several external sites are scraping/harvesting your content and posting it as their own. Let's also say that you maintain a single unique/permanent URL for each piece of content, so that content aliasing (on your site) is never an issue. Is there any value from an SEO perspective to including a canonical link in your header anyway, such that when your site is "scraped", the canonical indication is injected into whatever site is stealing your content (assuming they harvest the raw HTML rather than going in through RSS etc.)? I've heard different things about the behavior of cross-site canonical links, from "they're ignored" to "behavior undefined" to "it can't hurt" to "sure that's exactly what canonical is intended for". My impression was that canonical was a good way of dealing with intra-site but not necessarily inter-site aliasing. Thanks~

  So, my project directory looks like this: /project Makefile main /src main.cpp foo.cpp foo.h bar.cpp bar.h /obj main.o foo.o bar.o What I would like my makefile to do would be to compile all .cpp files in the /src folder to .o files in the /obj folder, then link all the .o files in /obj into the output binary in the root folder /project. The problem is, I have next to no experience with Makefiles, and am not really sure what to search for to accomplish this. Also, is this a "good" way to do this, or is there a more standard approach to what I'm trying to do?

• problem in opening a link to .rar file

  Hi all, In my jsp, I have a hyperlink linking to a .rar file in the system. Somehow when I clicked on the link, it does not ask users to 'save file' or 'open file' nor using 7zip to open the .rar file. Instead, it just displays some junk characters on the web page. I thought it might be the problem with mime-mapping. So I put an mime-mapping to web.xml with mime-type=application/x-rar-compressed. But it still doesn't work. • Flash AS3 Chrome Mailto link issues

  Hi I have a problem with flash in Chrome. I have a couple of mailto: links in my flash web page, when clicking on them in chrome they either don't do anything at all, opens up a blank page/tab and no email client or opens an email client once (have to refresh the page in order to click it again). Does anyone know the best way in which to do a chrome supported mailto? Seems to work in all other browsers. I have changed the target to _blank, _parent, _self etc. Plus I have one link actually on the stage and another running through AS. Hope that makes sense, cheers.

• Buddypress on local server install has issues

  I have buddypress working nicely on a server, however I can't display the 'members' page or any individual profile page on a local webserver install I have made. If I try and visit /members/ I just get redirected back to the main buddypress page. I also just noticed online members never shows whose online and the link to the default blog on the main page is listed as http://localhost.localdomain/mu/BP_HOME_BLOG_SLUG which seems to indicate to me that BP_HOME_BLOG_SLUG is undefined, I can't find where it gets set or defined, not sure if these two problems are related to the other problems. No idea what's causing it, I've been pouring over the php files but haven't even gotten a clue, any suggestions on what I could do?
