  Hello, Can someone could be kind and help me out here. Thanks in advance... My code below outputs the string as duplicates. I don't want to use Sets or ArrayList. I am using java.util.Random. I am trying to write a code that checks if string has already been randomly outputted and if it does, then it won't display. • Issue with WIC image resizing on ASP.NET MVC 2

  I am attempting to implement image resizing on user uploads in ASP.NET MVC 2 using a version of the method found: here on asp.net. This works great on my dev machine, but as soon as I put it on my production machine, I start getting the error 'Exception from HRESULT: 0x88982F60' which is supposed to mean that there is an issue decoding the image. However, when I use WICExplorer to open the image, it looks ok. I've also tried this with dozens of images of various sources and still get the error (though possible, I doubt all of them are corrupted). • Getting output parameter(SYS_REFCURSOR) from Oracle stored procedure in iBATIS 3(by using annotation

  I got an example how to call oracle SP in iBATIS 3 without a map file. And now I understand how to call it. But I got another problem that how to get a result from output parameter(Oracle cursor). • ASP.NET site move to IIS7 results in gibberish characters in page output

  I have an ASP.NET site that was working fine running on Windows Server 2003 / IIS6. I moved it to Windows Server 2008 / IIS7 and the aspx page output now includes gibberish text. For example: p???? ????? The majority of the page renders properly, but there is gibberish here and there. I have checked the event logs and there is nothing. Any idea what's going on here? How can I fix this? I have noticed that this issue shows up when I include multiple Server.Execute statements in the aspx code: <% Server.Execute("/inc/top.inc"); %> <% Server.Execute("/inc/footer.inc"); %> The .inc files above contain just html. It appears that the files have to be of a significant length to cause the error. • XNA - Keyboard text input

  Okay, so basically I want to be able to retrieve keyboard text. Like entering text into a text field or something. I'm only writing my game for windows. I've disregarded using Guide.BeginShowKeyboardInput because it breaks the feel of a self contained game, and the fact that the Guide always shows XBOX buttons doesn't seem right to me either. Yes it's the easiest way, but I don't like it. Next I tried using System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow. I created a class that inherited from it, and passed it the Games window handle, implemented the WndProc function to catch WM_CHAR (or WM_KEYDOWN) though the WndProc got called for other messages, WM_CHAR and WM_KEYDOWN never did. So I had to abandon that idea, and besides, I was also referencing the whole of Windows forms, which meant unnecessary memory footprint bloat. So my last idea was to create a Thread level, low level keyboard hook. This has been the most successful so far. I get WM_KEYDOWN message, (not tried WM_CHAR yet) translate the virtual keycode with Win32 funcation MapVirtualKey to a char. And I get my text! (I'm just printing with Debug.Write at the moment) A couple problems though. It's as if I have caps lock on, and an unresponsive shift key. (Of course it's not however, it's just that there is only one Virtual Key Code per key, so translating it only has one output) and it adds overhead as it attaches itself to the Windows Hook List and isn't as fast as I'd like it to be, but the slowness could be more due to Debug.Write. Has anyone else approached this and solved it, without having to resort to an on screen keyboard? or does anyone have further ideas for me to try? thanks in advance. note: This is cross posted from the XNA Creators Forums, so if I get an answer there I'll post it here and Vice-Versa Question asked by Jimmy Maybe I'm not understanding the question, but why can't you use the XNA Keyboard and KeyboardState classes? My comment: It's because though you can read keystates, you can't get access to typed text as and how it is typed by the user. So let me further clarify. I want to implement being able to read text input from the user as if they are typing into textbox is windows. The keyboard and KeyboardState class get states of all keys, but I'd have to map each key and combination to it's character representation. This falls over when the user doesn't use the same keyboard language as I do especially with symbols (my double quotes is shift + 2, while american keyboards have theirs somewhere near the return key).

  I have a while loop to show the replies for a post on my website. The value for parentID used in the query is $post['postID'] which is an array of details for the post being viewed. In my autocompletetextview, the list is not shown or filtered by input text. eg, If user enter "an", all text started with "an" will be seen in this list. So, why is no key being taken. How to make the query take references. Is it possible at all? 2. The other two tables td and u are using references. Any indexing needed in those? I think not. • Report Builder Error (Input string was not in a correct format) when filtering data

  Issue: the user is getting an error “The requested list could not be retrieved because the query is not valid or a connection could not be made to the data source.” while trying to filter a reporting using Report Builder 2.0. When you expand the details the message is “Input string was not in a correct format” I verified that when the user clicks to see the filter values the query is being sent to the underlying database (by using profiler). When I build the same report [I'm a server admin] I have no issues and see all the filtered values, which leads me to believe this is a permissions issue. • Parallel.For maintain input list order on output list

  I'd like some input on keeping the order of a list during heavy-duty operations that I decided to try to do in a parallel manner to see if it boosts performance. (It did!) I came up with a solution, but since this was my first attempt at anything parallel, I'd need someone to slap my hands if I did something very stupid. There's a query that returns a list of card owners, sorted by name, then by date of birth. This needs to be rendered in a table on a web page (ASP.Net WebForms). The original coder decided he would construct the table cell-by-cell (TableCell), add them to rows (TableRow), then each row to the table. So no GridView, allegedly its performance is bad, but the performance was very poor regardless :). The database query returns in no time, the most time is spent on looping through the results and adding table cells etc. I made the following method to maintain the original order of the list: private TableRow[] ComposeRows(List<CardHolder> queryResult) { int queryElementsCount = queryResult.Count(); // array with the query's size var rowArray = new TableRow[queryElementsCount]; Parallel.For(0, queryElementsCount, i => { var row = new TableRow(); var cell = new TableCell(); // various operations, including simple ones such as: cell.Text = queryResult[i].Name; row.Cells.Add(cell); // here I'm adding the current item to it's original index // to maintain order in the output list rowArray[i] = row; }); return rowArray; } So as you can see, because I'm returning a very different type of data (List<CardHolder> -> TableRow[]), I can't just simply omit the ordering from the original query to do it after the operations. Also, I also thought it would be a good idea to Dispose() the objects at the end of each loop, because the query can return a huge list and letting cell and row objects pile up in the heap could impact performance.(?) How badly did I do? Does anyone have a better solution in case mine is flawed?

• Can't get jQuery to get focus on cloned input fields

  I have a page that needs to create dynamic form fields as often as the user needs, and I am trying to use Ajax to tie it in to my database for faster form entry and to prevent user typos. So, I have put my Ajax returned data into popup div, the user selects, then the form field is filled in. The problem comes on the cloned fields. They don't seem to want to bring up the popup div when focused. I am thinking it is something to do with when they get created/added to the DOM. • Do While loop breaks after incorrect input?

  I am trying to have a loop continue to prompt the user for an option. When I get a string of characters instead of an int, the program loops indefinitely. I have tried setting the variable result to NULL, clearing the input stream, and have enclosed in try{}catch blocks (not in this example). • Customs toString in Java not giving desired output and throwing error

  I am writing a program in Java to accept and validate dates according to the Gregorian Calendar. My public boolean setDate(String aDate) function for an incorrect entry is suppose to change the boolean goodDate variable to false. That variable is suppose tell the toString function, when called, to output "Invalid Entry" but it does not. My public boolean setDate(int d, int m, int y) function works fine though. I've only included the problem parts as its a long piece of code. • Accept keyboard input when game is not in focus?

  I want to be able to control the game via keyboard while the game does not have focus... How can I do this in XNA? EDIT: I bought a tablet. I want to write a separate app to overly the screen with controls that will send keyboard input to the game. Although, it's not sending the input DIRECT to the game, it's using the method discussed in this SO question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6446085/emulate-held-down-key-on-keyboard To my understanding, my test app is working the way it should be but the game is not responding to this input. I originally thought that Keyboard.GetState() would get the state regardless that the game is not in focus, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

  I want to add to the network section of conky a list of all hosts and ips for my network. However I do not know how to format the output in a way I like. I want Live Hosts However this is on the bottom line of nmap's output) host (ip) host (ip) and on and on... I think there should be a max of 7 on my network. How can I do this? The output of nmap -sP 192.168.1.0/24 looks nothing like what I want though it does have all the parts, just in the wrong order.

• How can I force a preferred sound output device to be used?

  In my sound settings interface, there are two devices for sound output: Both refer to the same physical device, which is a network sound device. Both work, but only with the second one, Simultaneous output to Kenwook Audio Device Digital Stereo (IEC958) on mythbuntu@mythbuntu, does the output volume respond to being changed. The first one always plays at the same level, and ignores volume settings. Every time I boot, the first one is selected. How can I make it so the second one is the default and the first one is disabled or at least never selected?

• Is there a virtual printer to output an Open Office doc to multiple images (jpg, png etc)?

  I'm after a virtual printer which takes each page of "printed" output and converts into multiple images (one image for each page)... eg. .jpg, or .png, etc.. I'm specifically looking for something to work with Open-Office Writer, but I assume that such a virtual printer would work across the board for any app which can send its output to a "printer". Is there such a thing in the Ubuntu repository? PS. I want one "normal" picture image per page.. ie Many images are output. ...(like the Snagit virtual printer in Windows)

Sometimes I can get sound from the device but it is a sheet of white noise and tinkering makes it go away again I don't know if that is a separate problem or if it is linked to not being able to see the analogue input/outputs in the sound preferences. Any help would be greatly appreciated As for the white noise I have installed the Envy24 control panel and spend lots of time playing with the settings but when I can get the white noise I can never get it to an quality where I can actually hear what is being played. The internal speaker plays audio fine and plugging in a NI Audio 4DJ via usb also plays sound, although with some static but I believe that is due to an underpowered usb2 pci expansion card not being able to get enough electricity to the device. Alternatively I have seen other people with problems with this device so it may be a bug in the driver but that is another matter. I would like to get the M-Audio card working so I can begin to enjoy my music once again. As a note, I do not currently have any audio equipment capable of sending or receiving audio via the digital inputs and output so I can not check if they are working. The sound preferences show a wide range of digital in and out options with various surround sound options but no analogue ins and outs.
