    I'm using the Logging Application Block in my ASP.NET application and want to convert the application to a Sharepoint WebPart.     Is it possible to determine the feed type and version in a way so that you can make sure that you have the correct version. At the lowest level so to speak. Namespaces is an obvious approach, but its not present for a lot of feeds. Any thoughts? (I'm trying to mashup varioius RSS Feeds). Thanks in advance for any help!

  • How can I find installed programs dependent on any version of the .NET framework?

    I have an application that uses .NET 3.5SP1, but I have been having a LOT of random crashes with it. I am starting to narrow the fields of possible causes to the framework itself, where I suspect some other app is installing a lower patch version. Is there any apps in the wild, or anything I can slap together that can tell me what apps that are installed that depend on .NET to run? Their minimum required version would be nice to know also, but not necessary.

  • Are Ms-PL and Apache License Version 2.0 Compatible?

    I need to use two libraries in a commercial product that i'm developing at work. One library is under the Ms-PL license and the other is under Apache License Version 2.0. I know that Ms-PL is not compatible with GPL according to the FSF, and that the Apache License Version 2.0 is only compatible with GPLv3 (and not with GPLv1 or GPLv2). But i don't know if both licenses are compatible. Any help would be appreciated, even if it is that it is impossible :)

We are trying to create a simple setup stub without having to resort to a low-level C/C++ app... currently something is cooked up in VB6, but there's a fair amount of low-level network code that I would much rather rewrite in .Net -- which would be trivial if only we could rely on the presence of a given version.
