  • Java Simple WGS84 Lat Lon to Pixel X, Y

    - by Cnich
I've read a multitude of information regarding map projection today. The amount of information available is overwhelming. I am attempting to simply convert lat, long values into a screen X, Y coordinate not using any map. I do not need the values projected onto any map, just on the window. The window itself is representing approx. a 1500x1500 meter location. Lat, Long accuracy needed is to a 1/10th of a second. What may be some simpler ways in converting lat/long representation to the screen? I've read several articles and post regarding translation onto images, but nothing related to the natural java coordinate system. Thanks for any insight.

  • Location.getTime() returning a future time.

    - by fiXedd
The following code: // get the last known location Criteria c = new Criteria(); c.setAccuracy(Criteria.ACCURACY_FINE); Location lastKnown = mLocationManager.getLastKnownLocation(mLocationManager.getBestProvider(c, true)); // compare times long currentTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); long gpsTime = lastKnown.getTime(); long age = (currentTime - gpsTime) / 1000; Gives me: currentTime = 1270062152738 gpsTime = 1270085378000 age = -23225 If you'll notice, it's returning the last location fix's time as a time in the future. Why is this happening? EDIT: From Location.getTime() : Returns the UTC time of this fix, in milliseconds since January 1, 1970. From System.currentTimeMillis() : Returns the current system time in milliseconds since January 1, 1970 00:00:00 UTC. This method shouldn't be used for measuring timeouts or other elapsed time measurements, as changing the system time can affect the results.

  • Why I am getting Null from this statement. Query Syntax in C#

    - by Shantanu Gupta
This is not working. Returns Null to dept_list. var dept_list = ((from map in DtMapGuestDepartment.AsEnumerable() where map.Field<Nullable<long>>("Guest_Id") == 174 select map.Field<Nullable<long>>("Department_id")).Distinct())as IEnumerable<DataRow>; DataTable dt = dept_list.CopyToDataTable(); //dept_list comes null here This works as desired. var dept_list = from map in DtMapGuestDepartment.AsEnumerable() where map.Field<Nullable<long>>("Guest_Id") == 174 select map; DataTable dt = dept_list.CopyToDataTable(); //when used like this runs correct. What mistake is being done by me here. ?

  • Stop the screen saver and hibernation temporarily in VB.Net

    - by Tim Santeford
I have a very long running syncronization task that cannot be interrupted by the screen saver or aggressive power saving modes. I want to make a single api call to stop power save mode and then restore it once the task is done. The following code is peaced together from various other posts but it has no effect on XP's power management settings. What am I doing wrong? TIA! Private Declare Function SetThreadExecutionState Lib "kernel32" (ByVal esFlags As Long) As Long Public Enum EXECUTION_STATE As Integer ES_CONTINUOUS = &H80000000 ES_DISPLAY_REQUIRED = &H2 ES_SYSTEM_REQUIRED = &H1 ES_AWAYMODE_REQUIRED = &H40 End Enum Public Shared Sub PowerSaveOff() SetThreadExecutionState(EXECUTION_STATE.ES_DISPLAY_REQUIRED Or EXECUTION_STATE.ES_CONTINUOUS) End Sub Public Shared Sub PowerSaveOn() SetThreadExecutionState(EXECUTION_STATE.ES_CONTINUOUS) End Sub Here are the systems screensaver and powermode settings:

  • Multiplying char and int together in C

    - by teehoo
Today I found the following: #include <stdio.h> int main(){ char x = 255; int z = ((int)x)*2; printf("%d\n", z); //prints -2 return 0; } So basically I'm getting an overflow because the size limit is determined by the operands on the right side of the = sign?? Why doesn't casting it to int before multiplying work? In this case I'm using a char and int, but if I use "long" and "long long int" (c99), then I get similar behaviour. Is it generally advised against doing arithmetic with operands of different sizes?

  • Is it possible to share a C struct in shared memory between apps compiled with different compilers?

    - by Joseph Garvin
I realize that in general the C and C++ standards gives compiler writers a lot of latitude. But in particular it guarantees that POD types like C struct members have to be laid out in memory the same order that they're listed in the structs definition, and most compilers provide extensions letting you fix the alignment of members. So if you had a header that defined a struct and manually specified the alignment of its members, then compiled two apps with different compilers using the header, shouldn't one app be able to write an instance of the struct into shared memory and the other app be able to read it without errors? I am assuming though that the size of the types contained is consistent across two compilers on the same architecture (it has to be the same platform already since we're talking about shared memory). I realize that this is not always true for some types (e.g. long vs. long long in GCC and MSVC 64-bit) but nowadays there are uint16_t, uint32_t, etc. types, and float and double are specified by IEEE standards.

  • JPA entities -- org.hibernate.TypeMismatchException

    - by shane lee
Environment: JDK 1.6, JEE5 Hibernate Core 3.3.1.GA, Hibernate Annotations 3.4.0.GA DB:Informix Used reverse engineering to create my persistence entities from db schema [NB:This is a schema in work i cannot change] Getting exception when selecting list of basic_auth_accounts org.hibernate.TypeMismatchException: Provided id of the wrong type for class ebusiness.weblogic.model.UserAccounts. Expected: class ebusiness.weblogic.model.UserAccountsId, got class ebusiness.weblogic.model.BasicAuthAccountsId Both basic_auth_accounts and user_accounts have composite primary keys and one-to-one relationships. Any clues what to do here? This is pretty important that i get this to work. • What does transaction.commit() do when the flushmode is set manual in Hibernate?

    - by wei
Here is a block of code in the Java Persistence with Hibernate book by Christian and Gavin, Session session = getSessionFactory().openSession(); session.setFlushMode(FlushMode.MANUAL); // First step in the conversation session.beginTransaction(); Item item = (Item) session.get(Item.class, new Long(123) ); session.getTransaction().commit(); // Second step in the conversation session.beginTransaction(); Item newItem = new Item(); Long newId = (Long) session.save(newItem); // Triggers INSERT! session.getTransaction().commit(); // Roll back the conversation! session.close();//enter code here I am confused that why the first step and second step need to be wrapped into two separate transactions? Since the flushmode is set manual here, no operations (suppose we ignore the insert here) will hit the database anyway. So why bother with transactions here? thanks

  • bigger UITableViewCellStyleValue1 detailTextLabel

    - by Ziga Kranjec
I am trying to make a UITableView. Table cells are done in style UITableViewCellStyleValue1. When text in either textLabel or detailTextLabel is too long, it gets shortened with ellipsis... This happens for both labels; the problem really occurs, when both labels are too long. What is a preferred way to disable this or make detailTextLabel slightly wider? I want detailTextLabel to always show the entire label (it will be max 6 chars long, so it will fit); textLabel is fine as it is.

  • using AudioQueues with AudioFileReadBytes

    - by Santosh
Hey Im trying to work with Audio queues to play a very big mp3 file (arround 23 hours long). when audio queue asks for buffers though callback, im using AudioFileReadBytes() API to read the bytes from audio file and feed the queue. startQueue fails with the error : prime failed any inputs????? Also I succeeded playing file using AudioFileReadPackets API instead of AudioFileReadBytes(). But the problem with API is that when I seek (fast forward) by a long interval, say 9 hours (for example fast forward from 32 mins playtime to 9:32 mins) then AudioFileReadPackets() takes a long time (almost 2 mins) to read from new location. any comments would be greatly appreciated.

  • posix pthreads in c

The calling thread uses a unique data structure for each thread, insuring that each thread's argument remains intact throughout the program. Iam not able to understand how this is happening can somebody explain it??

  • Why we used double and triple pointer in objective-C or C language?

    - by Rajendra Bhole
Hi, I confused when i want to take single pointer and when should i take double pointer? In following structure what exactly did? struct objc_class { Class isa; Class super_class; const char *name; long version; long info; long instance_size; struct objc_ivar_list *ivars; struct objc_method_list **methodLists; struct objc_cache *cache; struct objc_protocol_list *protocols; }; Why we use the "**methodLists" double pointer. • Java - Difference between SwingWorker and SwingUtilities.invokeLater()

    - by Yatendra Goel
SwingWorker is used for the following purposes: For running long-running tasks in a different thread so as to prevent the GUI from being unresponsive For updating GUI with the results produced by the long-running task at the end of the task through done() method. For updating GUI from time to time with the intermediate results produced and published by the task with the help of publish() and process() methods. SwingUtilities.invokeLater() can perform the above tasks as follows: Instead of executing SwingWorker.execute() method from the EDT, we can execute ExecutorService.submit(new MyRunnable()) as it will also create another thread which can execute long-running task. For updating GUI at the end of the task, we can put code (written in done() method of case1) SwingUtilites.invokeLater(new RunnableToExecuteDoneMethodCode()) at the end of the task. For updating GUI in the middle of the task, we can put code (written in process() method of case1) SwingUtilites.invokeLater(new RunnableToExecuteProcessMethodCode()) at the place where we called publish() method in case1. I am asking this question because the problem specified in question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2797483/java-swingworker-can-we-call-one-swingworker-from-other-swingworker-instead-o/2824306#2824306 can be solved by SwingUtilities.invokeLater() but can't be solved with SwingWorker

  • hibernate foreign key mapping many-to-one

I have been working on it for quite a while, but still can't figure out what's wrong with my code. Each Service has multiple profiles, but each profile only has one Service. Service { Long service_id; // primary key ... getter/setter } Profile { Long profile_id; // primary key Long service_id; // foreign key ... getter and setter } in Profile.hbm.xml. • Is writing a reference atomic on 64bit VMs

    - by Steffen Heil
Hi The java memory model mandates that writing a int is atomic: That is, if you write a value to it (consisting of 4 bytes) in one thread and read it in another, you will get all bytes or none, but never 2 new bytes and 2 old bytes or such. This is not guaranteed for long. Here, writing 0x1122334455667788 to a variable holding 0 before could result in another thread reading 0x112233440000000 or 0x0000000055667788. Now the specification does not mandate object references to be either int or long-sized. For type safety reasons I suspect they are guaranteed to be written atomiacally, but on a 64bit VM these references could be very well 64bit values (merely memory addresses). No here are my question: Are there any memory model specs covering this (that I haven't found)? Are long-writes suspect to be atomic on 64bit VMs? Are VMs forced to map references to 32bit? Regards, Steffen

  • log4j.xml configuration with <rollingPolicy> and <triggeringPolicy>

I try to configure log4j.xml in such a way that file will be rolled upon file size, and the rolled file's name will be i.e: "C:/temp/test/test_log4j-%d{yyyy-MM-dd-HH_mm_ss}.log" I followed this discussion: http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/NUYyjJipzkDOS3reRiMz Finally it worked for me only when I add: try { Thread.sleep(1); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } to the method: public boolean isTriggeringEvent(Appender appender, LoggingEvent event, String filename, long fileLength) which make it works. • Glassfish v3 Domain Output Log is not ending after the netbeans debug is stopped

I would like to know if anybody is experiencing the problem on endless if log that is too long when Netbeans Debugging session is stopped? We use java logging in our web application but if I stop the debug, suddenly in the Output Glassfish v3 Domain window, there are a lot of log that is being dump. The log would last so long, that I need to click the Stop the Server because if I don't the Netbeans logger would consume too much memory that makes it too slugish later. I am not sure how long until the log stop but it last for minutes. Any ideas here?

  • How Can I Check an Object to See its Type and Return A Casted Object

    - by Russ Bradberry
    I have method to which I pass an object. In this method I check it's type and depending on the type I do something with it and return a Long. I have tried every which way I can think of to do this and I always get several compiler errors telling me it expects a certain object but gets another. Can someone please explain to me what I am doing wrong and guide me in the right direction? What I have tried thus far is below: override def getInteger(obj:Object) = { if (obj.isInstanceOf[Object]) null else if (obj.isInstanceOf[Number]) (obj:Number).longValue() else if (obj.isInstanceOf[Boolean]) if (obj:Boolean) 1 else 0 else if (obj.isInstanceOf[String]) if ((obj:String).length == 0 | (obj:String) == "null") null else try { Long.parse(obj:String) } catch { case e: Exception => throw new ValueConverterException("value \"" + obj.toString() + "\" of type " + obj.getClass().getName() + " is not convertible to Long") } }

  • Copy Structure To Another Program

    - by Steven
Long story, long: I am adding a web interface (ASPX.NET: VB) to a data acquisition system developed with LabVIEW which outputs raw data files. These raw data files are the binary representation of a LabVIEW cluster (essentially a structure). LabVIEW provides functions to instantiate a class or structure or call a method defined in a .NET DLL file. I plan to create a DLL file containing a structure definition and a class with methods to transfer the structure. When the webpage requests data, it would call a LabVIEW executable with a filename parameter. The LabVIEW code would instantiate the structure, populate the structure from the data file, then call the method to transfer the data back to the website. Long story, short: How do you recommend I transfer (copy) an instance of a structure from one .NET program to a VB.NET program? Ideas considered: sockets, temp file, xml file, config file, web services, CSV, some type of serialization, shared memory

I have a done value that allows the first thread to increment the count value first until its run time is up.. so its like a First Come First Serve. my question is, is there a better way of implementing this? I have read about SCHED_FIFO or SCHED_RR.. I guess I dont know how to implement them into this code or if it can be.

I have a page that performs a long-running task (10 to 15 seconds) in the page_load method. I have client-side javascript code that will display a decent "page loading" animated gif to the user. I am able to invoke the JavaScript method from the code-behind, to display the "page loading" animated gif, however, the long-running task is hanging up the UI such that the animated gif doesn't actually display until after the long-running task is complete, which is the exact opposite of what I want. To test this out, in my page_load method I make a call to the JavaScript method to display the animated gif. Then, I use Thread.Sleep(10000). What happens is that the animated gif doesn't display until after Thread.Sleep is complete. Obviously I am doing something incorrect. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Chris

  • Lose changed data in session

    - by user150528
Our asp.net 2.0 application has a very long process (synchronized) before sending response back to client. I observed that a second request, exactly same the initial one, was sent after client IE8 waited response for a long period of time while our application was still processing the first request. I use page session with predefined key to store a flag when the initial request arrives and then starts long process while client IE waits for the response, so if second request comes in, our application checks the session value. After our application sets the session flag and starts processing, I use Fiddler “Abort Session” to abort the initial request, right away the second request (same as the first one) is sent automatically, but session value set earlier seems no longer exist. Any thoughts?

  • HTML align table rows on top

    - by arik-so
Hello, I have an HTML table. It looks as follows: <table> <tr> <td>Content one</td> <td rowspan="2"> Very long content right</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Content two</td> </tr> </table> As you see, I have some very long content on the right side of the table, actually, it is so long that it does not fit into what height is given by the table rows, and so the table gets higher, and by doing that, the contents one and two are no longer at the top of the table, but distribute themselves along the whole height. How can I stop them from doing this?
