• Silverlight 4 wait/spinner control

  I'd like to implement a spinner control (something along these lines) in Silverlight 4 to display during pending operations. There are several examples on the web for Silverlight 3 but I'm either unable to compile them into my project or they just flat out display nothing. In addition I'm unable to find any examples specific to Silverlight 4. Can someone please post a sample for Silverlight 4 or a link to one?

  Hello, Which implementation is less "heavy": PriorityQueue or a sorted LinkedList (using a Comparator)? I want to have all the items sorted. The insertion will be very frequent and ocasionally I will have to run all the list to make some operations. Thank you!

  I have a table, which looks like: +-----------+----------+ + person_id + group_id + +-----------+----------+ + 1 + 10 + + 1 + 20 + + 1 + 30 + + 2 + 10 + + 2 + 20 + + 3 + 10 + +-----------+----------+ I need a query such that only person_ids with groups 10 AND 20 AND 30 are returned (only person_id: 1). I am not sure how to do this, as from what I can see it would require me to group the rows by person_id and then select the rows which contain all group_ids. I'm looking for something which will preserve the use of keys without resorting to string operations on group_concat() or such.

  LINQ to SQL internally generates SQL queries and fire on the database after submitting changes. Is there any way we can wrap all these queries in some stored procedure and execute this store proc everytime when anything gets inserted or updated in the database. Problem is only stored procedures are allowed to carry any insert or update or delete operations, direct queries are restricted for security purpose.

• Using a Cyc Image in Windows

  Hi, I am trying to use a Microtheory for a research project I am working on, and am having trouble getting my saved Image of constants I create to work correctly. I save the image after creating the constants using (write-image "world\MyImage") and then going to the \server\run\ directory and using run-cyc-32bit.bat -w "world\MyImage" It loads the server correctly, but not with my constants.   I have web-services applications, running on Windows Server 2003. These hosts (each of them on separate appPool) contains multiple operations (consulting services).   I often read about dependency injection and I did research on google and I understand in theory what it can do and how it works, but I'd like to see an actual code base using it (Java/guice would be preferred). Can anyone point me to an open source project, where I can see, how it's really used?   NSOperationQueue has waitUntilAllOperationsAreFinished, but I don't want to wait synchronously for it. I just want to hide progress indicator in UI when queue finishes. What's the best way to accomplish this? I can't send notifications from my NSOperations, because I don't know which one is going to be last, and [queue operations] might not be empty yet (or worse - repopulated) when notification is received.

  I'm trying to define a class (or set of classes which implement the same interface) that will behave as a loosely typed object (like JavaScript). They can hold any sort of data and operations on them depend on the underlying type. I have it working in three different ways but none seem ideal. These test versions only allow strings and integers and the only operation is add. Adding integers results in the sum of the integer values, adding strings concatenates the strings and adding an integer to a string converts the integer to a string and concatenates it with the string. The final version will have more types (Doubles, Arrays, JavaScript-like objects where new properties can be added dynamically) and more operations.   Is it possible to create a small program that will run, without recompiling and without emulators, on both Windows CE 6 AND Windows XP SP3? From my knowledge, this isn't possible. Source code needs to be recompiled for the target platform. However, a hardware manufacturer for embedded boards is claiming otherwise. The application isn't anything complex, just a simple benchmarking tool analysing floating point operations, CPU ticks etc, and displaying the results on a plain GUI.

  I know that there are certain "special" methods of various objects that represent operations that would normally be performed with operators (i.e. int.__add__ for +, object.__eq__ for ==, etc.), and that one of them is list.__setitem, which can assign a value to a list element. However, I need a function that can assign a list into a slice of another list. Basically, I'm looking for the expression equivalent of some_list[2:4] = [2, 3].

• Texturing Issue when Overlaying images onto Camera preview SurfaceView

  I am in the process of making an augmented reality application and I have successfully overlaid a 3d cube over a camera surface view. The Issue now is when I add a Texture the cube then flickers(with the texture on it) and disappears leaving the camera preview upon further research i discovered that the cube with the texture was disappearing behind the Camera preview. My Question is has anyone else had this issue and if yes what approach did you take to solve this. Heres another strange Issue when i take a print screen the cube is on-top of the camera Preview

What I don't get is how iterators and pointer are related to each other - is an iterator a wrapper around a pointer with overloaded operations to advance to adjacent elements or is it something else?
