• Why can't c# calculate exact values of mathematical functions

  Hey everyone, Why can't c# do any exact operations. Math.Pow(Math.Sqrt(2.0),2) == 2.0000000000000004 I know how doubles work, I know where the rounding error is from, I know that it's almost the correct value, and I know that you can't store infinite numbers in a finite double. But why isn't there a way that c# can calculate it exactly, while my calculator can do it.   I am making a windows service to be able to run operations on a sql server database (insert, edit, etc) and invoke Stored Procs. However, is there a way for me to know the type of the SP? When invoking from C#, I need to knof if it is returning 1 value, or more, or none (so I can use executereader, scalar, etc)? Thanks

• Can I pass a pointer to a superclass, but create a copy of the child?

  I have a function that takes a pointer to a superclass and performs operations on it. However, at some point, the function must make a deep copy of the inputted object. Is there any way I can perform such a copy? It occurred to me to make the function a template function and simply have the user pass the type, but I hold out hope that C++ offers a more elegant solution.

  I need a class room definition for IP-aware for a research assignment. I.E. something that would be used, lets say, in a dictionary. Does anyone know or provide me with a link to a defintiion, I am having no luck with searches. Are IP-Aware devices only devices that can read/find/make decisions based on IP addresses. For example a router would be one, but a network printer would not?

  Hi all, I was wondering if there is a way to save my svn password when doing svn operations from the console. The console is the only option that I have.   Hi, I'd like to handle directly 64-bit words on the CUDA platform (eg. uint64_t vars). I understand, however, that addressing space, registers and the SP architecture are all 32-bit based. I actually found this to work correctly (on my CUDA cc1.1 card): __global__ void test64Kernel( uint64_t *word ) { (*word) <<= 56; } but I don't know, for example, how this affects registers usage and the operations per clock cycle count.
