  • PHP 6 not backward compatible

    From what I read, PHP 6 will break a lot of php scripts. I understand the reasons why it may break but why don't they just keep the PHP 5 and simply call PHP 6 as a different language based on PHP syntax? Like for example, why not just call php 6 scripts with an extension, "p6"- why are they trying so hard to make it backward compatible for old scripts when the extension can be used to call a specific interpreter?

    OK, I know how to create a class extension, using something like that: on .h @interface UIButton (myExtensionName) // my extended methods @end and then on .m @implementation UIButton (myExtensionName) // my implementations @end But how do I declare the extended delegates I may create? If this was a normal class I would do @protocol myExtensionName <NSObject> // my delegate declarations @end but how do I do that on a class extension? thanks

Thing is I think I remember reading about it somewhere but dont know if such a thing exists. This looks promising, but incomplete and abandoned: http://phpcompiler.org/ Im interested because i think it could improve performance...   • How can I get the correct headers automatically given a filetype in PHP?

    A few times I've run into situations where I'd like to be able to include a file using PHP, and depending on the included filetype, output the appropriate headers. In the past I've just done this manually by switch/casing the extension type with the appropriate content-type headers. However what I'm wondering now is if there's a function like get_header($filename) or maybe get_contenttype($extension) For example if I wanted to route all requests for media through a php file, I could use that function to output the correct headers.

  • Change the default Open With

    How can I change the program a file is opened with by default (or at least add that program in the list of programs from Open With... ) using C# or VB.NET ? What I mean is, I would like to have programs with the extension abc open by default by the program abc.exe. Or, have the program abc.exe in the list of programs that will be shown in the context menu on the "Open With" option, for files with extension "xls".

    I am trying to setup a server where my git repo would be accessible with HTTP(S). I am using gitolite and nginx (and gitlab for web interface but I doubt it makes any difference). I have searched the whole afternoon and I think I'm stuck. I have think I have understood that nginx needs fcgiwrap to work with gitolite, so I tried several configurations, but none of them work. My repositories are at /home/git/repositories.   • Can't clone gitosis-admin.git local from my snow leopard server running gitosis

    I've installed gitosis as described here: http://gist.github.com/264304 One of the things that I had to adjust was to give my git user permissions to use ssh (which I did trough server admin - access - ssh and added the 'git' user). When I ssh from my local machine (mac osx) as the git user, I get this response: PTY allocation request failed on channel 0 bash: gitosis-serve: command not found Connection to 10.0.0.108 closed. Which I think is normal, because in Pro GIT the author says you should get something like this if you try ssh'ing to the server using your git user: PTY allocation request failed on channel 0 fatal: unrecognized command 'gitosis-serve schacon@quaternion' Connection to gitserver closed. So far so good, I think? Now when I try to clone my gitosis-admin.git repository using this command: $git clone [email protected]:gitosis-admin.git I get this: Initialized empty Git repository in /Users/joggink/gitosis-admin/.git/ bash: gitosis-serve: command not found fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly So after doing some searching, I found an answer here on serverfault claiming I should use ssh:// as protocol for my git clone (which I thought is the default git protocol?)   • ISA forms authentication problems after installing moss sp2

    Guys I have a problem that's flared back up after installing WSS and MOSS service pack 2. The problem centers around the users being prompted to enter credentials when interacting with office documents. This problem came up before and I was able to go into ISA server and configure a persistent cookie on the web listener. As we all know when configuring a cookie you have two options use only on private computers or use on all computers. If I select use on all computers I can't even log in to Sharepoint from the forms page however if I select use only on private computer I'm able to log in and also I don't get prompted when opening office documents. So I would like to ask has something changed with Sharepoint service pack 2 because that’s the only change that’s been made to my environment.

  • Is it possible to install Canon EOS T3 Camera Drivers on Windows 7 Embedded

    I have a computer running Windows 7 Embedded. It's an embedded system that will be used in a industrial setting. It needs to be connected to a Canon EOS camera and download pictures from the camera. Other versions of windows come with the Canon drivers so Canon does not provide them as a download on their website. In the past, I had a similar issue with the "N" version of Microsoft Windows Starter and had to download the "Microsoft Media Feature Pack" which then installed the drivers. I attempted to install that on this device, but understandably it complains that its not applicable for this version of windows. So, is there there a feature pack or some other sort of download available that will install the camera drivers? Alternatively, is there some place to get the drivers and manually install them.     Hi all, I have a terminal server, with a bunch of users running MS Office 2007 std in. Some of them have recently been asking for better multilanguage support. Since I'm in a select agreement, I've gone into the Volume Licensing Service Center and downloaded the following three ISOs: Office Multilanguage Packs 2007 (DVD) Office Multilanguage Packs 2007 (CD) Office Multilanguage Pack 2007 Service Pack 1 But having mounted the ISOs in my RDS host, I still can't install anything they contain. I am quite probably doing something wrong, or maybe I need to be running Office pro version? please F1

  • ISA - Why do i suddenly need to specify settings on the client machines?

    Have been pulling my hair out over this one for hours, and wondering if someone can help. I have a server with two network interfaces that was running isa 2004 and humming until i installed sbs service pack + isa 2004 service pack 3. Grrrrrrrrrr I can get the client machines to connect to the internet but only by installing the ISA Client on each machine or setting proxy settings etc in the internet settings. Ideally i want the client machines to just work with no configuration or proxy server settings as they were before. Where do i start, and what other information do you need from me if any to find out what im doing wrong Thanks!

Still I see various sources where I can download this kit when I search for it on Google. Is the Proofing Tools Kit available yet or not? Are these sources I see on Google legitimate ones or should I stay away from them? Or are they also available from Microsoft directly somewhere I haven't looked yet? 2010-07-28 Bump: Has anything come out now?     Hi Guys, I have installed the above update through Windows Update. The update went through, reported a successful installation, and then straight after that it came back as an available update. I have done it a few times and my update log now contains multiple successful installations of KB995706. I have tried to uncheck it in the list of updates but it keeps coming back as well. The machine is a Server 2008 RC2 Standard. It's got SQL Server 2005 Express as well as SQL Server 2008 Standard.   • Best ways to move a server room and 80 desktops to a new building

    Need to plan the best way to physically move a server room (12 IBM x3400 towers) and all associated networking equipment to a new building. Everything is going, comms (80 strong call centre operation), desktops(80-90) the whole lot and has to be done efficiently over a weekend. What I cant seem to find are the best ways to move equipment, i.e is it best to remove hard drives and pack them separetely, do I pack the chassis' with foam and/or surround them in bubble wrap? Are there specific products designed to move computer equipment and where would I find these. The internet has failed me so far, please help
